The Masked- Chapter 12 (UNEDITED)
"Welcome to my home, I guess," Jay murmured.
In wonder, the Order walked into the mysterious home. They walked into the main room. Surprisingly, the room was normal. A large sectional couch and a matching arm chair were placed around a coffee table. A few pictures were hanging on the dark grey walls but other than that the room was plain. There were four doorways and one closed door, one of the doorways included the one they were standing in. The other two doorways were open, one leading to a hallway, the other went to what looked like a dining room and kitchen. The whole Order seemed confused at the ordinariness of the home.
"Stay in this room while I'm gone. I'll be back in 10 minutes," Jay told them as he hobbled to the hallway.
Jay made his way to the bathroom and turned the shower on; taking off his ruined clothing and his mask. He stepped in the shower, the hot water cascading down on to his bare skin. Washing away the grime and blood. The water becoming a red colour at his feet. He turned the water off and stepped out wrapping a towel around his waist. Jay opened the draw under the sink and pulled out bandages. Jay opened a different draw and pulled out a pot of salve.
He applied the salve to the large wound on his chest, his leg and put a small amount on his elbows. Wrapping his chest and leg afterwards. Putting his mask back on he walked to his room. Jay put on some black joggers and a grey top.
Taking a deep breath he walked back to the Order.

"It seems too ordinary," Sirius said in a hushed tone as he walked around the living room.
"You're being paranoid," Remus spoke as he watched his friend.
"Sirius has a point though. It does seem a bit ...normal?" James added, eyebrows furrowed.
"You never know he might have hidden rooms and stuff," Fred suggested casually, looking around.
"Yeah like behind shut doors," George added smirking.
"And if you try to go through those shut doors you'll be cursed," a voice said behind them making the ginger twins jump.
Jay stared George's eyes intensely making the recipient uncomfortable and almost guilty. His stare as fearsome as McGonagall's. Jay turned away looking at the others.
"It's late; let me show you to the guest rooms."
Jay walked through the door he had appeared from with the rest of them following him. There was an awkward silence as they walked behind the masked teen towards a deep blue coloured door.
"So...you have enough room for all of us?" Remus attempted to fill the quiet void.
"Yes," Jay said shortly.
Jay stopped in front of the deep blue door and closed his eyes for three seconds then opened it, walking in. Mouths dropped at what they saw next. It was like walking into the Gryffindor's common room.
"I hope this is to your likings. I have never been in Hogwarts' common rooms so I hope this is similar enough for you. Do what you like, just to let you know most of the doors are locked and if you do attempt I will be notified immediately and you may or may not be cursed severly." The last part mostly aimed towards the twins.
"This is incredible. How did you do it?" Hermione said looking around the room.
"It is a similar spell and runes to the room of requirement. However, I was never able to replicate it enough so that it only appeared in times of need," Jay explained. "Anyway I shall leave you to get comfortable. Goodnight," He said leaving the room.
The night continued uneventful. Within their room they conversed, played games, and relaxed. It was late when they all decided to go to bed most of them not even thinking about the teen that owned the "house". Other than Remus. The werewolf's thoughts were keeping him awake. This boy mystified him, he seemed so familiar, his scent was familiar. After the injuries the masked boy sustained, his blood leaking out of the wounds, is what struck Remus' werewolf senses.
Jay was two rooms to their left, in the large gym. He was, once again, punching the bags again. His hands wrapped up this time. Sweat dripped from his skin; the mask on his face only making him feel warmer. Taking in deep, fast breathes as he continously punched. His concentration never wavering. Not even when a certain wolf walked into the room. Either Jay didn't realise he had company or he was ignoring him. Remus did not speak, not wanting to interrupt the young man's workout, he just watched. Standing behind the masked boy out of his sight, next to the door.
"Shouldn't you be asleep?" Jay asked, stopping.
Remus watched as Jay walked over to a bench that was against the wall grabbing a towel and his bottled water, taking a swig.
"I could ask you the same thing. You are younger than me after all," He responded which made Jay smirk. "I had a lot on my mind," Remus spoke after a few seconds.
"Anything I can help with? I have been told I'm quite wise for my age," Jay suggested which if it were anyone else he wouldn't had offered.
"It's a lot trickier to explain and I doubt you have come across this kind of... situation," Remus paused before speaking again. "But why don't you tell me what's troubling you."
Jay didn't answer at first. Not knowing how he could explain how the Potter's were bothering him, that keeping his identity from him and Sirius was becoming difficult, or the fact that his family were being tortured. He stood and limped toward the punching bag again and looked into Remus' lighter, green eyes.
"Well other than the whole family being tortured by Death Eaters we could say my situation is very uncommon as well," Jay sniped back.
"Sorry about that," Remus tried to console.
"Why you didn't do kidnap them. It's not your fault...It's mine," Jay muttered the last part but Remus still heard him.
Remus stood silently watching him as he started punching again. Jay wished that he was the punching bag so that he could feel pain worse than what the Death Eaters might be inflicting on them right now. Jay punched harder each time, becoming reckless. Tears slipped from his eyes. Punches soon became weak and futile. Breaths became uneven and ragged.
"Harry." Remus whispered while walking towards the hurt child.
"It hurts. I want to save them but I can't," Jay's voice cracked. "Moony," He said turning around and taking off his mask.
Teardrops rolling down his cheeks. Jay felt like he did as a child when his parents slowly forgot him. The deep pain that seems to make your insides ache consumed his body. He felt so useless, so frail and he hated feeling this way.
"Why does it hurt so much? Why won't it stop. Please make it stop," Jay whimpered feeling like a little child.
Remus watched as his godson finally took his mask off both physically and figuratively. Wrapping his arms around him and placing his lips to his head. Jay cried into his shoulder, shaking from his sobs.
"I wish I could, Harry." He whispered.
Hi! I know it's been a while sorry about that! But I have an actual excuse.
A few months ago my mum had a stroke but luckily she's okay now. I was really stressed throughout the last few months with my family, friends and school. I had my mock exams to revise for and my family and friends weren't helping to be honest. I didn't have tie to write and then when I did I had a bit of a writer's block I didn't know how to write the ending of this chapter. I'm still not happy with this but I think it turned out alright and there were some recent reviews that made me want to update more and reminding me why this story should be finished.
Thank you for being patient with me! I hope you haven't forgotten about what has happened during the story!
