Chapter 13: The trap is set.

''Oh how long is zhis going to take!?'' Richtofen cried as they trudged along on their journey.

''Richtofen, it's only been three days since this all started, and we've only been travelling for what? Six seven hours since this morning'' Dempsey told the Nazi Doctor, looking at his watch.

''Zhat is sooooooo long!'' Richtofen complained.

''We've fought zombies longer than that at times Doc'' Dempsey rolled his eyes.

''Ja, zhis is true. But back zhen I had a plan, a goal, a purpose… Now I have… NOTHING!'' Richtofen moaned.

''Shut it Richtofen. It's your fault we're in the mess in the first place'' Dempsey growled.

''I vasn't ze one who nuked ze earth…'' Richtofen commented quietly.

''What was that sauerkraut?'' Dempsey bared his teeth.

''Und I vill valk 500 miles, und I vill valk 500 more…'' Richtofen sang, trying to avoid the question.

''Oh now that is a brilliant song'' Grinch smiled.

''Do you think?'' Richtofen asked quaintly. Before Grinch could answer however, Samantha's voice sounded through the air.

''PEOPLE OF FRANCE, YOUR CAPITAL CITY OF PARIS HAS FALLEN TO MY FORCES! SOON YOUR COUNTRY VILL FALL TO ME! EDWARD RICHTOFEN I VILL HUNT YOU AND YOUR ALLIES DOWN, NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES! EVEN IF IT MEANS ZHAT INNOCENT PEOPLE MUST SUFFER AND DIE!''

''Samantha I have little sympathy for ze people of zhis world, do not think zhat using zhem vill change zhat!'' Richtofen shouted to the sky, earning himself more than a few foul looks from the others. Samantha giggled in her childlike way.

''Your one sick bastard Doc'' Dempsey spat.

''Pick up the pace people!'' Price shouted down the group; ''If Paris has fallen, then Samantha's forces will be spreading through France unchallenged now. We need to be at the border of Belgium in three days max!''

Dempsey sighed as they began walking a little faster; ''Rosie, how's Belgium going?'' The Marine asked the young hacker.

''Not good'' Rosie answered, looking at her device; ''Samantha's forces have arrived on the coast of north Belgium. The army that took Calais has marched north and hit the Belgium coast from the south'' Rosie pocketed her device and looked at Dempsey; ''If Samantha's forces move through Belgium as quick as they have France, then we may be in for a fight when we get there''

''Shit! This is going to be tight'' Dempsey growled.

Price and Evan walked at the head of the group.

''It seems like they've finally accepted that they're game characters'' Evan said, looking behind at the crowd of fame characters they were travelling with.

''Yes, it also appears that they realise we're in a full scale war against a little girl'' Price added.

''Yeah…'' Evan sighed; ''I never thought that I would be involved in a war… When we were attacked by the zombies on the plane, after we crash landed, it was the first time that I had ever fired a gun that wasn't on a game''

''You'll get used to that'' Price smiled.

''It was also the first time I've ever killed, other than something on a game'' Evan frowned, pulling out his M1911 and looking at it.

''That something I hope you won't have to get used to'' Price stated seriously.

''When was your first kill?'' Evan asked, curiously.

''A long time ago…'' Price said simply, an emotionless expression on his face.

''The earliest record that Call of Duty has of you is when you went to assassinate Imran Zakhaev, in Pripyat, 1196'' Evan told the Captain. Price continued to stay stony faced.

''You were just a Lieutenant back then, weren't you?'' Daniel, who was walking behind them, asked Price.

''Yes… Under Captain MacMillan'' Price answered, eyes staring into space as he thought back to that mission… One that would change his life forever and make him that man his is today.

''Why were you chosen to go with MacMillan?'' Evan asked.

''MacMillan recommended me to his superiors, told them that he'd have no one else go with him unless it was me'' Price told them.

''Why did MacMillan think so highly of you?'' Evan questioned.

''MacMillan wasn't just my Captain, he was my mentor. When I transferred to the SAS in 1981, after already serving a year in the army, MacMillan was there, training new recruits'' Price began telling his story; ''I had heard stories, during the time when I was recommended for the SAS, about Captain MacMillan and his exploits. When I met him, I then understood why he was held in such high regard. The man was a legend. Everyone under him respected him and those who were above him told us to follow his example. After training, and passing selection, the new recruits were assigned to their specific units. MacMillan asked for me to join his unit, the 22nd SAS regiment''

''How come he wanted you in his unit?'' Daniel asked.

''He told me that I had potential'' Price told them; ''I didn't find out what he meant until a few years later… in Beirut, 1998''

'Beirut had been at the centre of some of the bloodiest battles of the Lebanese civil war. Although the final years of the war were being fought, a new enemy threatened to bring the war to other national powers, and start a far larger war than the one that was already being fought'

''Captain MacMillan, who's our target?'' A young Sergeant John Price called out to his Captain as their helicopter flew towards the battle scarred city of Beirut.

''Yazid Rehan, leader of a small terrorist group known as The Second Dawn'' Captain MacMillan filled his unit in; ''As you know from our debrief, our target intends to detonate a large bomb in the Muslim half of the city of Beirut, killing hundreds of people. He then plans to blame the West for the attack, and convince the Arab leaders to rise up against the West in vengeance for the bomb''

''What are his motives sir?'' Corporal Gaz asked the Scottish Captain.

''We'll ask him when we catch him'' MacMillan replied shortly; ''Although I suspect he just wants to see widespread chaos and death''

''Captain, where did this information come from, if you don't mind my asking?'' Price asked MacMillan.

''The Russians cracked an encrypted message that was sent from Yazid to one of his men'' MacMillan told them.

''Russians?'' Price asked, sounding shocked.

''Aye lad'' MacMillan confirmed; ''We've arranged with them to go on a joint op to take out Yazid, as they were the ones who cracked the message''

''Bloody Soviets… This could be interesting'' Gaz rolled his eyes.

''Keep that opinion to yourself when we meet up with them Corporal'' MacMillan told him sternly.

''And where are we meeting them?'' Gaz asked.

''We're meeting them two clicks south of the city, we'll then infiltrate downtown Beirut from there'' MacMillan answered; ''Now our target is rumoured to be hiding underground in a secret tunnel system. We can infiltrate the tunnel from downtown, but we need to be careful because downtown Beirut has turned into a no man's land between the Christian and Muslim sides of the city, and we don't want to get caught up in this bloody war''

''Captain MacMillan, ETA ten minutes'' their pilot told them.

''Alright boys, lock and load'' MacMillan told his unit.

''Sir who's leading the Russian unit we're meeting?'' Price asked.

''A man named Captain Baskov'' MacMillan replied.

''Captain Price, I can see a village up ahead'' Mason told Price.

Price, Evan and Daniel looked ahead and saw a village.

"Looks pretty desolate" Daniel mused.

"The villages probably tried to get away when they heard That Paris had fallen" Soap suspected.

"We had best steer clear of it. We don't know who inhabits that village now" Price told them.

"Price, we should check it out, because if the village is abandoned then there's likely to be abandoned cars as well" Mason suggested.

"That could cut the time it takes to get to Belgium" Soap commented raising an eyebrow at the Captain.

Price sighed; "Alright but we need to be careful and get in and out quickly".

The group moved quickly towards the desolate village. Cautiously they made their way down the roads and paths, not letting their guard down for a single minute.

"Man I don't like this" Dunn complained; "reminds me to much of when we were in Virginia".

"This place is dead" added Ramirez as they made their way through the village.

"Stay frosty boys, if the enemy is here then they could attack at any moment" Sergeant Foley warned them.

They arrived at the village centre and congregated around a fountain.

"There doesn't appear to be any sign of an attack" Sandman noted.

"Then where did all the villagers go?" Weaver asked.

"They must have run whilst they had the chance" Foley reasoned.

"Alright here's the plan" barked Price, standing on the fountain; "Yuri and uh… you geek boy" he pointed at Marlton

"My name is Marlton" the nervous man corrected.

"Whatever" Price shrugged; "you and Yuri, climb the church tower, scan the area with you sniper rifles. Soap, Daniel and Takeo, take Sadie and try to find out what happened to the villagers and see if the enemy have been through here yet. Delta squad and Rangers I want you to find us some transport and bring it here. Richtofen, Lara, Ghost, Briggs and Hudson, go to the pharmacy and surgery scavenge any medical supplies you can find, it would only help the enemy if we didn't take it. Dempsey, Rosie, Nikolai, Sullivan, Roebuck, Polonsky and Miller go to the shops, stock up on food and drink supplies. Section, Harper, Salazar, Farid and Gaz, I want you to join Evan and I in going to the police station. They'll probably have some firearms lying around that we can take; also I want to check the CCTV. The rest of you stay here. I'll radio everyone when it's time to go, alright? If there is any trouble radio us and make your way back here'' Price got down from the fountain and everyone else began to move to the locations they needed to go to.

''Price, what happened when you arrived at Beirut?'' Evan asked, as they made their way towards the police station.

''What?'' Price asked confused.

''You were telling us about Beirut'' Evan told Price.

''Oh yes. Now where was I?'' Price remembered.

The helicopter landed and MacMillan, Price, and Gaz, along with the rest of their unit disembarked.

''Captain MacMillan, we'll pick you up from here in six hours tie, no more than that though!'' one of the pilots shouted to MacMillan.

''Roger, now get yourselves out of here before your seen'' MacMillan ordered. He then led his squad to where they were meeting the Russians, as their helicopter took off. Suddenly the dry bushes around them came to life as people in camouflage stood up.

''Guns down boys, it's the Russians'' MacMillan told his astonished unit, who had their weapons aimed at the Soviet soldiers.

''Captain MacMillan, your late'' a large Russian soldier scolded as he walked up to the Scottish Captain.

''Captain Baskov I presume?'' MacMillan asked, amusement lining his voice.

'Captain Baskov was a ruthless man, cared only for his own hide and not much else. He showed little respect for MacMillan and acted as he himself was leading the operation, instead of the two co-leading. Honestly I was glad to see the back of him'

''What's the situation in the city at the moment?'' MacMillan asked the Russian Captain.

''There hasn't been much activity in downtown, so we'll be able to infiltrate the city without any trouble'' Baskov replied; ''Now Captain, I have been informed that you're the best that the SAS have to offer, and while your timing leaves a lot to be desired, I trust that you won't let me down''

''I can assure you Captain, that we will execute our part with precision. We won't let you down'' MacMillan told the Soviet soldier.

''That remains to be seen'' Baskov growled; ''Now follow me, I'll show you where we will infiltrate the city''

As they made their way towards the city, Gaz walked next to Price; ''I don't like this mate, how come that Russian thinks he can boss MacMillan around like that?'' the baseball capped soldier asked his friend.

''He probably thinks that because the Russians were the ones who cracked the message, they have more authority than us'' Price guessed; ''Don't worry mate, Mac will put him in his place if he needs to''

They arrived at a metal chain link fence. The war torn city of Beirut stood behind it.

''Kamerov, bolt cutters'' Captain Baskov ordered one of his men.

''Yes sir'' the man named Kamerov said, as he pulled out a pair of bolt cutters and began to cut a hole in the fence. Once the Russian soldier had cut through, they moved into the city. Treading their path carefully they made their way towards the entrance of the tunnel. Captains Baskov and MacMillan both led the way, ordering their men to stop occasionally as they scanned the area for any soldiers. They eventually came to a small side alley.

''Here it is'' Captain Baskov looked down at a manhole in the middle of the alley.

''Price, do you have the crowbar?'' MacMillan asked the Sergeant.

''Yes sir'' Price answered. He brought out a red crowbar and began to lift the manhole lid away.

''Right… Who wants to go first?'' MacMillan asked dryly.

''I will, for there is glory to be had here'' Baskov smirked. He then inhaled; ''Ah I can smell it''

''Sure that's not the bloody sewer?'' Gaz muttered quietly. Price suppressed a smile.

Baskov began to climb down the ladder into the dark underground. MacMillan followed him next, then Kamerov, Gaz, and the rest of the soldiers. Price was the last to go down making sure no unfamiliar soldiers saw them. After all their concern was not with the war that was being fought above ground. As the young Sergeant descended he couldn't help but feel a sense of uneasiness. When he got to the bottom he looked around and saw that the rest of the soldiers were attaching torches to their weapons. He chose to do the same.

''Right we do this in and out, quick and clean. Ok?'' MacMillan asked.

''Let's do this'' Gaz nodded, cocking his weapon.

''Here's the church'' Yuri noted, looking up at the old structure.

''We'd better get up there then'' Marlton sighed, looking at the church too. Yuri let out a small laugh.

''What?'' Marlton asked curiously.

''Before Soap and I were teleported to this world we were headed towards a church to take out Vladimir Makarov'' Yuri answered, smiling at the irony of the situation.

''I see'' Marlton nodded as they pushed open the doors of the church and entered.

''What were you doing before you were taken?'' Yuri asked the nervous man.

''Fighting for my life against a hoard of zombies atop a skyscraper in China'' Marlton told the Russian loyalist.

Yuri whistled; ''If that's what you had to do day in day out, then I do not envy you''

''Tell me about it… Although I will say it has made me a better marksman'' Marlton patted his DSR sniper rifle. The two began to ascend the stairs of the tower.

''I am not much of a sniper myself'' Yuri confessed; ''However if I need to, I can wield a sniper rifle, as shown here'' he nodded at his RSASS. When they got to the top of the tower Yuri opened one of the windows to have a look at the surrounding area, Marlton did the same opposite him.

''Tell me, how come an American was in China in the middle of a zombie apocalypse?'' Yuri asked.

''We, that is myself, Misty, Stuhlinger and Russman, were in America. But I presume Richtofen teleported us to China to power up this tower that was there'' Marlton answered.

''You seem to be tied up in a strange story my friend'' Yuri commented.

Marlton laughed quietly; ''It seems so. See anything on your scope by the way?''

''No nothing, everything is quiet'' Yuri informed; ''what about you?''

''Just some enemy helicopters in the distance, they appear to be flying in a different direction from us so… wait no they've turned this way'' Marlton said shakily.

''Svoloch! How far away are they?'' Yuri cursed, moving over to where Marlton was sitting.

''A few miles, but they're moving fast…'' Marlton told the Russian.

''I count three Hinds, I'll radio the others. You keep watch on them'' Yuri told the young American.

"Area clear" Soap told Daniel and Takeo, as the three of them Sadie scanned the empty houses in the village.

"This is weird," Daniel said as he looked in the kitchen of the house they were currently searching; "no sign of forced entry and yet the villagers haven't taken any food supplies." he opened the cupboard and saw again that nothing had been touched.

"They haven't taken any clothes either." Takeo told them, coming down the stairs. He held in his hand a t-shirt;

"How good are Sadie's tracking skills?" He asked Daniel.

"Well she's not a sniffer dog, but she's always been able to find Evan and Rosie whenever they played hide and seek with her when they were kids."

"Will she be able to track the owner of this shirt?" Takeo asked.

"Worth a shot." Daniel shrugged, taking the shirt from the samurai and walking over to Sadie. Sadie began to smell the shirt and after a couple of minutes she began smelling around the house.

"She's got a scent!" Daniel grinned; "good girl".

"We may be able to solve this mystery" Takeo smiled.

"Stay on your guard boys," Soap warned; "I have a bad feeling about this."

Sadie led them out of the house and along the road.

"Is it true that you don't like dogs Soap?" Daniel asked as they followed Sadie down the road.

"They aren't my favourite animals." Soap answered with a wry smile.

"Been caught on the bad end of too many attack dogs?" Daniel laughed.

Soap smiled "Yeah, although Sadie seems friendly".

"What about you Takeo?" Daniel asked the silent soldier.

"My family had a pet dog when I was younger," Takeo told them; "he was a loyal beast and a good friend. He and I used to go cat hunting."

Daniel laughed "Wow… I feel sorry for the cats!"

Sadie suddenly stopped dead in the middle of the road and began to growl.

"What is it Sadie?" Daniel asked the dog.

Takeo knelt down beside the dog and studied the ground;

"Some evil has been through this village…" The Japanese warrior growled.

"What!?" Soap hissed.

"The empty houses… vehicles that are still outside houses… cupboards still full and clothing still here…" Takeo listed, as Daniel and Soaps eyes widened in horror; "the villagers didn't flee from the enemy… the enemy got here first."

"Bloody hell", Soap gasped.

"See here" Takeo pointed at the marks on the road; "Tire marks. Not from your average car… from a military transport truck. The enemy must have come here in the night, pick locked their way into the houses and kidnapped the villagers."

''We need to tell the others!'' Daniel told them. However just as Soap reached for his radio the voice of Yuri spoke through it first.

-''Everyone just to warn you, we have three enemy Hinds heading this way''

''Bugger, we need to get back to the village centre now!'' Soap told them. The three of them and Sadie began to run back immediately.

''Well at least we're not shot on choice of cars to take'' Corporal Dunn joked dryly as the Rangers and Delta squad moved through the village in search for transport.

''Yeah but we won't be able to fit 58 people and a Great Dane in 7 cars easily'' Sergeant Foley explained.

Dunn shrugged, he then spotted a milkman's van; ''What about that?''

Ramirez laughed; ''Yeah that would be a sight, a load of soldiers sitting in the back of a milk van''

''That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea'' Sand man thought aloud.

''Seriously boss?'' Grinch scoffed.

''Yeah if we get rid of the milk crates then we can fit a few people on there no trouble'' Sandman explained.

''Alright you're the boss'' Grinch shrugged. After they cleared the van of milk crates, Sandman hopped into the driver's seat and began to drive the van in search for other vehicles.

''Sandman, where were you during the battle of Washington and the EMP?'' Foley asked the Delta force leader.

''We were fighting in Boston when the EMP hit'' Sandman told the Rangers leader.

''Really? I heard the Russian Navy was hitting Boston pretty hard'' Foley raised his eyebrows.

''They were… Then the EMP hit'' Truck smiled bitterly.

''What happened?'' Ramirez asked.

''The EMP crippled the Russian ships and scrambled their missile guidance system. However we weren't any better off because all our electronics died as well'' Truck answered.

''We were lucky enough to get some reinforcements after a day or so'' Grinch added. Suddenly Yuri's voice sounded over the radio.

-''Everyone just to warn you, we have three enemy Hinds heading this way'' the Russian soldier told them.

''Shit, we'd better get back to the village centre'' Sandman swore.

''I'll radio Price and tell him that we haven't found much in the way of transport'' Foley told them, he then picked up his radio; ''Captain Price, it's Sergeant Foley''

-''Go ahead Sergeant'' Price responded.

''We're headed back to the village centre, however we haven't managed to get enough transport for everyone'' Foley informed.

-''Don't worry about the transport, there are enough police vehicles for everyone here'' Price told them; ''Just get back to the… What!? Bugger! Open fire!'' The Captain cut himself off to deal with whatever it was distracting him.

''Shit, the Captain's under attack, get back to the centre now!'' Foley told Sandman. The Delta force leader stepped on the accelerator and began driving back to the village centre.

''This appears to be the Doctors sugary'' Hudson observed.

''Zhis is a Doctors sugary'' Richtofen asked with a sneer; ''My own vas far more intimidating zhan zhis boring building''

''Shut it German, we're here to do a job'' Admiral Briggs snapped at the Nazi Doctor.

''Vhatever baldy'' Richtofen shrugged.

''Why did we have to bring this cock sucker along?'' Briggs groaned.

''Now, now gentlemen let's now have an argument please'' Lara asked the bickering men.

''Come on, let's do this'' Ghost told them as they moved towards the doors.

''So what kind of medical supplies are we looking for in here?'' Hudson asked Richtofen and Lara.

''Syringes, strong pain killers, bandages, und perhaps a few medical tools'' Richtofen answered.

''Antiseptics as well, we don't want any wounds turning ugly'' Lara added.

''Aww but zhat means no amputations'' Richtofen moaned.

''That's especially what we want to avoid'' Lara told the German.

''But severed limbs are so entertaining'' Richtofen tried to justify himself as they walked through the abandoned Doctors sugary.

''Alright let's search these rooms'' Hudson suggested; ''I'll search this one, Briggs you search the next one, Ghost you search the room opposite this one. Lara, are you ok watching Richtofen as you search the room next to Ghost's?''

'''Don't worry Hudson, I can take care of myself'' Lara smiled.

''I'm not going to do anything to her anyvay'' Richtofen sighed.

''I don't want to take that chance'' Ghost growled to the German Doctor. He then turned to Lara; ''If this bastard tries to pull anything give a yell''

''I will, but I don't think he'll try anything funny'' Lara smiled, drawing her Ballistic Knives. They all split into the separate rooms where they were going to search. As soon as Lara and Richtofen had walked in their room the Nazi scientist squealed with excitement and ran over to a table with surgical equipment on it.

''Ah ha ha ha ha ha, OH vhat joy! Un scalpel!'' he cried happily, holding up the cutting tool.

''Everything alright Lara?'' Briggs asked from the other room, hearing the deranged Doctor's squeals of joy.

''Yeah, Richtofen has found a new toy'' Lara explained, as she walked over to a cupboard to see if it contained anything useful.

''My old scalpel is becoming rather dull after ze many zombie throats I have sliced vith it'' Richtofen told Lara, taking another scalpel out from a little pocket on the side of his boot. He tossed it aside as he examined the new one; ''But zhis one is so sleek und sharp, perfect for cutting bits off my undead children to experiment on''

''Richtofen can we get back to the task at hand please?'' Lara asked, as she put some antiseptic creams in her bag.

''Fine, fine'' Richtofen grumbled, sheathing his new scalpel. He walked over to a cabinet; ''Penicillin… Nein, Paracetamol… Nein, Morphine?... Hmm… Nein'' the German was tossing aside the different medicines he was listing off.

''Richtofen, what exactly are you searching for?'' Lara asked, picking up the packets of medicine that the Doctor had thrown away.

''Instruments of torture'' Richtofen replied casually.

''Richtofen this is a place of healing, not torture'' Lara explained to him. Richtofen rolled his eyes in annoyance. The two left the room after their search and waited in the hall for the others.

Admiral Briggs walked out with a few small boxes; ''Not much in the way of medicines in there'' he nodded towards the room he had just come out of.

''Every little helps'' Lara reassured him with a kind smile.

''Is it me or does anyone else have an uncomfortable feeling?'' Hudson asked as he walked out of the room he was searching.

''Ever since we got here. Why?'' Briggs asked.

''I dunno, just have a bad feeling that something is going to happen'' Hudson replied.

''We had best keep our guard up then'' Ghost told them, putting a couple of pots of pills in the medical bag

-''Everyone, just to warn you, we have three enemy Hinds heading this way'' Yuri's voice suddenly informed across the radio.

''Everyone back to the village centre now!'' Ghost ordered. As they ran back to the centre Richtofen heard Samantha's giggle in his head.

''Oh no!'' the German cried, eyes going wide as he put two and two together.

''What is it?'' Hudson asked.

''A trap'' Richtofen snarled, deadly serious.

Rosie, Dempsey, Nikolai, Sullivan, Roebuck, Polonsky, and Miller walked through the doors of the supermarket to search for supplies for their journey.

''Right I'm off to the alcohol section. Be right back'' Nikolai told the others.

''No you don't Nikolai'' Dempsey snapped.

''Drink isn't the most important thing in the world right now Russian'' Sullivan told Nikolai.

''I heartily disagree, clearly you do not know me American'' Nikolai chuckled.

''Rosie, Nikolai you two search that aisle'' Dempsey told the young hacker and the drunken Russian; ''Sullivan, Roebuck take that aisle, Polonsky, and Miller search the one after them and I'll search the one after that'' the group dispersed down their designated aisles.

''Aww there's no drink down here'' Nikolai moaned as he and Rosie walked down the fruit and vegetable section.

''You know Nikolai, I find it really repulsive that you have to resort to drink to both satisfy your needs and function'' Rosie said in a matter-of-fact tone as she picked up a couple of bags of apples.

''I am starting to think that you don't like me very much Rosie'' Nikolai thought aloud.

''Really? What on Earth would make you think that?'' Rosie rolled her eyes sarcastically.

''You and your gadgets confuse me. You are too complicated'' Nikolai sighed, knocking some tinned vegetables off the shelves and into the basket.

''Play nice you two'' Dempsey called over the aisles.

-''Everyone, just to warn you, we have three enemy Hinds heading this way'' they heard Yuri warn them over the radio.

''Fuck! Wrap it up people, we need to get back to the village centre'' Dempsey told them, grabbing what he could and running towards the exist, with the others following him.

''That's the Police station up ahead'' Gaz informed Captain Price and the others.

''Place looks deserted too'' Harper noted looking at the empty building.

''something doesn't feel right here…'' Salazar said warily.

''Right, what do you want us to do Captain?'' Section asked Price.

''I want you, Harper and Salazar to go to the arms locker and grab anything you can: Firearms, grenades, ammo clips, anything'' Price told the SEAL team commander.

''And me? What do you want me to do?'' Farid asked.

''I want you to come with Gaz, Evan, and myself to look at the CCTV and find out what's happened here'' Price told the young Arab. They all entered the Police station and looked around.

''All clear, nothing at all'' Harper told them.

''Arms locker should be this way, let's go'' Section told his team.

''Evan, Farid, Gaz this way'' Price told the other three. As they split ways, Evan couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding.

''This looks like the place we want'' Gaz looked at a door, and from the little French he knew he could make out CCTV on the sign. Evan tried the door handle, but it was locked. Price kicked the door open and they all walked in. what they saw as they walked in sent chills down their spines. Two dead bodies were slumped on the chairs they were sitting in.

''What happened here?'' Price questioned, moving to examine one of the bodies; ''Throat has been cut, poor bugger, he's been dead for a day at least''

Gaz moved over to the second body; ''Stabbed through the heart. Judging from their positions, and the style of their deaths, these two men were killed from behind and unexpectedly''

Evan leant on a chair for support, letting out a sharp breath.

''You ok kid?'' Price asked him.

''Yeah, just not used to seeing stuff like this'' Evan told the Captain; ''It's one thing seeing it on a game. It's another seeing it in real life''

Farid place a hand on his shoulder; ''It's ok, I'm not used to seeing violence and death too'' he told the teenager.

''Gaz, would you mind helping me move these two to the corner?'' Price asked, nodding towards the bodies. The two laid the bodies gently in the corner and then turned to the CCTV screens.

''Let's find out what happened here. Farid, you know what to do'' Price told Farid. Farid sat down in front of the monitors and began typing on the keyboard.

''Fast forward from the 20th of April, that's when all this started'' Price told him. They watched the monitor screens, that showed the entire Police station, as the footage fast forwarded from the 20th.

''Stop, there press play'' Evan told Farid as he saw something that caught his eye.

''The date says it's the 22nd'' Farid informed them, looking at the screens.

''That was yesterday'' Price confirmed. The screen showed a large group of soldiers storming into the Police station.

''General Shepherd's Shadow Company'' Price growled.

The soldiers on the screen fired on the French police as they made their way through the building. As they watched the massacre, Yuri's voice sounded over the comms.

-''Everyone just to warn you, we have three enemy Hinds heading this way''

''Something isn't right'' Price thought aloud.

-''Captain Price, this is Sergeant Foley'' Foley's voice announced over the radio.

''Go ahead Sergeant'' Price responded.

-''We're heading back to the village centre, however we haven't managed to get enough transport for everyone'' Foley informed. Evan suddenly noticed that one of the dead bodies twitched as the Captain spoke to Foley.

''Don't worry about the transport, there's enough Police vehicles here for us all. Just get back to the-…'' Price told the Rangers leader.

''P-P-Price!'' Evan stammered, pointing at the two bodies that were getting to their feet, an orange yellow light filling their eyes.

''What!?'' Price span round as one of the zombies growled; ''Bugger! Open fire!'' he yelled, pulling out his Desert Eagle and blasting one of the zombies heads off. Gaz fired his G36C at the other one, both fell down dead.

''What the hell is going on!?'' Gaz yelled, weapon still aimed at the corpses on the floor.

''A trap'' Price growled.

''Uh Price, we may have a situation'' Farid gulped.

''What is it?'' Price asked walking over to the monitors. The Shadow Company soldiers they had seen earlier were pilling the bodies of the Police force into a small room behind the arms locker.

''Shit, the SEAL team!'' Evan gasped, eyes going wide in horror as he realised where the SEAL team were.

To be continued…
