I pushed Mello down onto my bed and kissed him aggressively. He owed me this much after what he put me through. He matched my pace and my intensity. The only problem with my plan to dominate him is that he is ten times more aggressive than me. Mello pushed me up against the wall and relentlessly crushed his hips into mine.
"Wait," I panted reluctantly. Mello stopped nibbling on my neck and looked at me, also out of breath. "I think we should at least talk about where this is going before we…"
"Fair enough," he agreed, smoothing his hair out.
We both sat on my bed, our backs against the wall, trying to catch our breath. I had kissed him after holding him for so long in the middle of my room and one thing lead to another and here we were. Things might have gotten a little out of hand and we might have gotten a little distracted. I'm just glad I had a clear enough head to set things back on track…
"It doesn't have to be a relationship," I told him. "We don't have to be there right now…but that's where I'd like to end up eventually."
"I agree."
"I mean, but we can't keep letting our…instincts…take over like that."
"Yeah…probably not…"
"Are you going to give me your opinion or just agree with everything I say?" God, he's so frustrating!
"I want to be with you. I want to spend time with you and make time for you, I do. But I think we need to keep in on the down low for a while. Do you parents even know you're…"
"Gay? No…Well, I don't know. They probably suspect it. I've never brought any girls over or anything."
"Yeah, me either."
"Are you even gay? I've never seen you with another guy besides me, and come to think of it, I've never actually seen you with a girl either."
"Like I said…I'm not really good at dating," he mumbled, looking down at his hands. His hair swept itself in front of my view of his face.
"You've never dated anyone ever?"
"Nope…"
I couldn't help but smile. I was the first one. I reached over and grabbed his hand and he returned the smile. Neither of us said anything for a short minute.
"Well then how are we supposed to act at school?" I asked quietly.
"I don't know. We could just act like nothing happened…?"
"Right! No problem…I can just pretend that I don't know what your dick tastes like. Easy…" I said sarcastically. Mello laughed at me and shrugged. "Well I guess we'll just have to see how it goes when it gets here."
"What if people ask questions? What if people saw us together?"
"Are you worried about that?"
Mello thought about it for a second. My heart started to sink slowly. He really did care what his entourage thought of him…
"Actually, not really," he finally told me. "I'm the most popular guy in school. I can basically do whatever I want and I'm pretty sure people didn't forget that fact over the weekend."
I rolled my eyes at his cockiness, but he was right. People did admire him, no matter what he did. Everything he did was cool, pretty much. He broke a lot of rules and even the teachers didn't really say anything to him. Besides, any word out of his mouth was basically written in the Bible of Mello.
"We can be friends, Matt. You may be a reject, but you're my reject."
"Gee…thanks, Mello." I considered that as a compliment.
"Look, I gotta get going…I promised a few friends I'd meet up with them in like an hour at my house. I wouldn't be a very good host if everyone was there and I wasn't…" Mello said abruptly. "Are we good?"
"Yeah, I guess…" I said sadly. I wasn't expecting him to leave so suddenly. I could already tell that this 'relationship' was going to be hard for me. Not only am I paranoid about everything, I'm a jealous freak and I'm selfish when it comes to Mello's attention. Great.
I walked Mello to my door and looked outside the window to take a look at his car, which was non-existent.
"Where's your car?" I asked.
"Oh, I didn't drive here," he said quickly, giving me a long kiss. Hm…
"Then how did you get here?"
"I just walked."
"From where?"
"My house…?"
"Your house?" I asked incredulously. "Where do you live?"
"Not too far from here. I gotta go, Matt," he said impatiently.
"Let me give you a ride back, Mello!"
"No, Matt, it's fine. It really is. I'm fine with walking. I'll see you tomorrow, okay? Or maybe even later today."
"Mello I'm not letting you walk back! It looks like it's about to rain…"
"Matt, it's fine!"
"No, I'm insisting," I told him sternly, grabbing my keys. "Just let me be a gentleman, okay?"
"Fine!" he practically yelled. He made a frustrated noise and burst through my front door, quickly getting into my car with an attitude. I followed after him, barely having time to slip a sweatshirt and shoes on. I climbed into the car and turned to Mello, who was glaring through the windshield.
"What the big deal? What's wrong with me giving you a ride?" I asked him. He just shook his head as I pulled out of the driveway.
Mello was right. His house was just a few blocks down from mine. I guess after all these years of wanting him, I never bothered to see where he lived. When we pulled up to his house neither of us said anything. It wasn't at all what I expected. He was the most popular guy in school, so I just assumed that he was, I don't know, rich?
His house was very small, maybe the size of Eva's living room. The grass was overgrown and the windows had wood covering him. I now realized why he didn't want me to take him home so badly.
"You're…not having friends over, are you?" I guessed. Mello shook his head, still glaring out the window. I reached over and grabbed his hand. "Why did you lie to me?"
"Really? We pull up to this shithole and you're asking why I lied?" he snapped, pulling his hand away.
"Mello I don't care what kind of house you live in! Do you really take me for a superficial asshole?" I barked back. Mello looked at me in surprise, as if he couldn't believe what I was telling him.
"But you have a sports car and motorcycle, and a three-story house…"
"Mello, what are you really going to go do? And don't lie to me again."
"My mom is really sick," he admitted quietly. "I have to come home and take care of her as often as I'm available. I'm all she has, and the doctors say she doesn't have much time left."
"Why didn't you tell me all of this?"
"Because we just started…whatever this is! I didn't want to pile everything on you on day one!" he explained angrily.
"Can I come inside with you?" I heard myself ask quietly. Mello looked up and his surprised eyes searched mine.
"But…why?"
"Because I would like to meet your mom…?" Wasn't that obvious?
"She's not much to meet. She's practically a pile of bones…" he muttered sadly.
"I don't care, I want to meet her before…it's too late."
Mello granted me a small smile and nodded.
