Summary: The second adventure. A shooting star falls on Earth—except it's not just a star. What follows is a quest for discovery, for some things are not always what they appear to be.

Disclaimer: I own (practically) nothing! That includes the Star Trek joke at the end.

Am I the only one who feels like the chapters are decreasing in quality? Yes? That's good.

"How did someone manage to break into my shop while it was closed and put this poster here?" Madoka was fuming a bit at the lack of security.

"Well, the door wasn't exactly locked when we left," Hikaru noted, examining the poster. "Survival Battle, huh? Sounds like a big tournament. There will probably be some strong opponents there."

"And the winner gets one wish?" Everyone immediately crowded around the poster like it was the center of the universe, trying to see if Hyoma had read it right. Of course, he had.

"That's it! I'm definitely going to win this thing!" Gingka cheered.

"Not if I win it first," Kyoya countered. Obviously, everyone was going to enter. Rina thought about it, then realized that thousands of bladers would be competing. So of course it would be a unique opportunity, but she hoped she wouldn't lose control while blading. Even Madoka decided she would be going to try and improve her own blading skills. So off they went.

"Why are we sitting here anyway?" Rina complained, sitting in one of the airplane seats. Kenta began to explain what an airplane was to a fascinated Rina. Just as he was about to finish, the floor panels underneath everyone's seats dropped open, revealing a forested island below. "Is this supposed to happen?" Seconds later, everyone had grabbed onto the parachutes that were mysteriously strapped to their backs and were sent falling. Luckily, the flight attendants had explained earlier how to use a parachute, so everyone survived.

Battles were being fought all across the island, with a gigantic zeppelin floating overhead displaying the number of bladers left.

"Hey, what's tha-" Rina pointed up at the zeppelin, then decided to ask later, because there seemed to be some other bladers nearby. As none of them were people she knew, Rina supposed they would want to battle her more than they would want to answer any questions. In different parts of the island, Gingka, Kenta, Benkei, Madoka, Kyoya, Hikaru, Hyoma, and various other characters were battling, and doing quite well. Even Madoka was proving that she could hold her own with a bit of determination. Though the group was all doing well in their separate places, there was another blader elsewhere who was defeating bladers even faster.

"I'm going to defeat you this time, Hikaru!" Hikaru sighed at Hyoma's enthusiasm.

"You realize that us battling could possibly destroy a good portion of the island, right?" Hyoma chose to ignore Hikaru and launch his Bey regardless. A flash, and the area around them became darker. Sabotor tried to ram Krakenoid, but it glided away and whipped Sabotor with its tail. Hyoma was desperately trying to figure out what his Bey-turned-creature could do, especially when Krakenoid could soar out of reach. Krakenoid exploited its agility and repeatedly attacked and evaded until the darkness had faded away and Aries again clattered to the ground.

"You do have some potential with one as powerful as Sabotor. I'll consider teaching you how to control it sometime." With that, Hikaru left to go find another opponent. Meanwhile, Benkei was battling a purple haired blader, and losing. The blader's Bey, Capricorn, must have been another of the unique Beys, because no sooner then they both had launched their Beys had the area around them become darker. Oddly, it had become a brown-shaded mermaid, which played notes on its harp that made Benkei, Damakor, and his opponent grimace and try to cover their ears. Its confused owner had no idea what was going on, but caught on enough to shout for the mermaid to keep attacking.

Damakor was still immobilized. In desperation, Benkei called out for it to attack the harp with all of its power. Damakor struggled, but charged the mermaid, and in a flash of bright light the creatures had both disappeared and both Beys had stopped spinning. Elsewhere, Rina pressed a hand to her forehead from a sudden pain.

"I wonder who put this trap here…" Kenta was hanging upside down by a rope around his feet. Tetsuya walked over and cackled.

"I'll be taking your Bey now, crab," Suddenly, another Bey shot out of nowhere, cutting the rope holding Kenta's feet and causing him to fall on his face. Tetsuya yelped in surprise and ran. Kenta untied the rope around his feet and looked up at his rescuer, an orange haired boy around his age.

"That guy got disqualified already. He shouldn't be trapping other bladers. My name's Yuu, what's yours?" The boy helped Kenta up, who winced, "Hey, your ankle looks hurt. How about I show you to one of the medical tents?" Kenta just nodded and hopped after his new friend. Later, Hikaru, Rina, and Benkei mysteriously found their way to the medical tent to find Kenta outside with a bandage around his ankle. While Kenta tried to find Yuu to introduce him to the three, Benkei told Hikaru and Rina about the blader with Capricorn.

"That's interesting… I think it might have been a Sirenoid. They're quite rare now, but normally they're not very powerful." Hikaru mused. Rina just turned to Kenta, about to ask if they had anything for headaches when she saw the person beside him.

"Guys, this is Yuu. He got me out of a trap that dirty player Tetsuya set." Kenta introduced Yuu. Hikaru, per the norm, asked for a battle. Yuu agreed, but only if all three of them battled him. Hikaru started to protest that Yuu was getting overconfident, but wouldn't turn down an advantage. The four of them launched their Beys. Kenta's Sagittario stayed in place, as Stamina types normally do, hesitant to attack his new friend's Bey. Hikaru's Aquario immediately charged toward Yuu's Bey, but Rina recognized both Yuu's Bey and the growing pain in her head, and Rina's Bey shot in front of Aquario, swiftly blocking it. Hikaru was taken aback by Rina's sudden change in plan. Rina's Bey unleashed a series of erratic attacks, hitting Aquario until it stopped spinning.

"What are you doing?!" Hikaru was enraged. She had been defeated again by a child, and one on her own team no less.

"I-I'm sorry…" Rina breathed slowly, trying to reassert control. "That Bey… it's so powerful…" Kenta was baffled enough, and hardly noticed when Rina's Bey jolted towards his and knocked it out of the arena. Yuu laughed.

"Wait a minute… So he's the one who defeated all of those bladers?" Yuu nodded.

"Yep! Sorry Kenta. Libra, attack!" Yuu's Bey began to glow with energy as it drew close to Rina's. Rina held her head and sunk to her knees as darkness again fell over the arena. A humannoid creature rose up next to the draconian one inside of Rina's Bey. The dragon mimicked Rina's posture of clutching its head in its claws, which seemed to have separated from its bony wings. For a moment, Rina seemed to have grown taller, but then daylight began to shine through and Yuu's creature took the chance to attack, causing the glow of daylight to return and the surroundings to revert to normal. Yuu's Bey was still spinning, while Rina's had stopped.

"Thank you, you, Yuu…" Rina fell over, exhausted and slightly delirious. Hikaru decided, since she had been knocked out of the tournament, to help Rina to the medical tent. Maybe they would have something for her.

"There are now only four bladers left in the Survival Battle, all of them making their way to an arena set up in the center of the island on a stone plateau. Anyone who wants to watch the final battle should make their way to this arena or watch the blow by blow coverage on this screen. The final four battlers are Gingka, Kyoya, Madoka, and Yuu!" The announcement ended. Yuu ran off to the arena, Kenta and Benkei following close behind. Hikaru left Rina inside the tent and walked outside to watch the zeppelin screen.

All four bladers launched their Beys, with Leone and Pegasus immediately headed at each other. Madoka's Bey was unfortunately left between the two, and got knocked out of the arena as Pegasus charged. Leone began to funnel the wind to start its special move, while Pegasus attacked, ready to charge from above should it do so. While the two depleted each other's energy, Libra just sat in place, watching. Finally Yuu became impatient and ordered Libra's special move, Sonic Wave, releasing an explosion that knocked both the weakened Leone and Pegasus out of the arena. Yuu was congratulated by the announcer, who then asked him what his wish was.

"Battle Bladers!" Upon the confusion that followed, Yuu explained that he wanted another tournament, but bladers had to earn 50,000 battle points to enter. He would've continued, but Doji helicoptered by in his helicopter. He thanked Yuu for requesting the competition, and they helicoptered off, laughing evilly all the way. Gingka shook his fist at the sky.

"DOJIIIIIII!"
