A/N: So, I haven't done a prompt in a while and figured I'd surprise you all! Please don't hesitate to send them in, but I'm just warning you that I won't be able to get a lot done before May 14th (the day I get out of college for the Summer). I hope you enjoy this one for the time being!

"Doctor!" Clara shouted as she opened the door to the TARDIS and found several little puddles by its entrance. She had been in that big blue box for what seemed like days and although she was not ready to go home, she figured that it was time to get back to her ordinary life.

The Doctor on the other hand always thought of reasons why she should be with him instead. "What is it Clara!" he sang as he approached the small girl by the small entrance of the largest ship in the universe. He stopped in his tracks and allowed a huge smile to linger on his face when he saw her predicament. It was down pouring outside and if he knew Clara, he knew that she would never want to romp through the puddles in order to get to her apartment.

Technically he could fly the TARDIS into her apartment complex, but there was absolutely no fun in that approach. He genuinely hoped Clara did not ask him to relocate the TARDIS for fear that he would have to make up an elaborate lie so that she would spend more time where she belonged- in the TARDIS with him.

The ground was completely covered in water and the sky showed no signs of letting up any time soon. The thunder and lightning was just getting worse as Clara slammed the door. He had no idea if she was frustrated or just alarmed by the thunder, but either way he chose to stand away from her for the time being as a safety precaution. As big and sturdy as the TARDIS was the two of them could still hear the thunder booming around them and the lightening crashing close by. The rain was also unavoidable as the sound of rain pouring on the TARDIS roof echoed throughout the whole ship. They were now standing completely still on the opposite sides of the control room, the Doctor was watching Clara intently as she was seemingly bracing herself for the next loud thump of the thunder. It was painfully apparent how nervous she was to be in the TARDIS during a storm, so the Doctor went over to her and carefully pulled her into him.

The thunder boomed once again and this time Clara closed her eyes and cuddled closer into the Doctor's arms. She was obviously too frightened to be alone, and although she was mostly a grown up, he wanted to be there to comfort her. The Doctor slowly positioned himself out of Clara's reach and said, "Wait here!" as he disappeared through the TARDIS hallways.

"Doctor…" was the only thing Clara said in reply. It was not strong enough to be a question, the small voice that said it was barely a whimper. The thunder and lightning continued to crash around the TARDIS and Clara remained frozen in the spot the Doctor left her. Luckily, he wasted no time returning to her and soon enough the two of them were leaning against the console unit with a blanket wrapped around them. She huddled close into his chest as he practically absorbed her body in his arms. Her body slowly relaxed into a limp, comfortable position as the Doctor played with her hair gently. The two of them remained like this for a number of hours, but the Doctor could not think of a better way to spend his time.

The only light in the TARDIS was the glow of the console unit's several buttons and although that was a lot, it was not enough to light up the entire room. The darkness was nice they both admitted, and after the initial few hours together underneath the console unit, Clara felt herself becoming less afraid. Her body became less limp and she found herself able to separate herself from the Doctor. Much to the Doctors dismay, she stood up and began to approach the ships door.

"What are you doing, Clara?" he questioned hesitantly. He still did not want her to leave, especially after the evening he had with her. He enjoyed comforting her and although she was frightened, he liked to think that she enjoyed being cuddled up with him in the middle of his room too.

She simply recoiled into herself. Her body shifted as she let out a long sigh indicating that she was still hesitant about opening the TARDIS doors. "I'm…" she began unsurely, "I need to go home, Doctor. I- I have to teach tomorrow". Her voice drifted off on her last words, but she was firm in her need to get back to her flat.

The Doctor thought to himself. He could fly her into her apartment with the TARDIS like he thought before, but then Clara would never get over her fear. She could stay with him, but as happy as that would make him, she did need to get home. She had students to teach and unfortunately her life did not revolve wholly on him. His mind raced for an alternative to the easy solution that was flying her to her apartment and the inconvenient solution that would make him very happy. His mind searched far and wide for an answer, but before it could come up with anything he spotted a large blue umbrella just outside of the control room. He whispered, "Thank you, sexy" and ran for it.

Seconds later, he approached Clara and handed her the umbrella. She looked at him wide eyed in disbelief of what he was asking her to do. "Clara I know you're nervous, but it's only rain. It will be fine…" he breathed and smiled at her warmly. There was only one more question he needed answered before he opened that door, "Do you trust me?" he asked cautiously. She looked confused, but almost immediately responded with a hearty, "yes". With that the door flew open and the two of them huddled under the umbrella for shelter.

The thunder was still thrashing and the lightening was still shooting off from all around them, but the two of them were running through it as if it was nonexistent. The two of them dodged the raindrops as they both held onto the umbrella's hook. They ran for their life and giggled the entire way home because of the circumstances they were in. The two of them had run from soul eating monsters and yet the rain was engulfing the two of them and she was scared. The thought hit them as they ran and they both found themselves in uncontrollable laughter. Soon enough, they both found themselves on the step leading into her flat.

The two remained unmoving underneath the umbrella as the rain poured down on top of them. The thunder had not stopped, but the two of them didn't mind as they smiled at one each other infectiously. Suddenly, the Doctor pulled something out of his jacket pocket- it was the key to the TARDIS. Funny enough, he never properly gave Clara her own key and he definitely thought it was time. He saw her eyes water up as he said the words, "It's yours now. Anytime you want it, whenever you need it. I know you already have one, but this one was made especially for you. You can summon me whenever you need me, you can get to me whenever you want. No one else has this privilege, Clara. Only you do, my impossible girl".

Her cheeks were now tear stained as she looked down at her newly presented key and then back up at her handsome Doctor. Her lips formed into a smile as she saw the Doctor lean closer to her as if he was about to whisper something into her ear. Strangely, he turned at the last minute and welcomed Clara's lips with his. The two allowed their mouths to discover one another's underneath the soaked umbrella for as long as the weather would permit them to. The only thing that broke their kiss was the sound of thunder ricocheting off of the side of Clara's apartment building. She bounced back frightened and then laughed at herself before opening her door and signally the Doctor to come inside. He shook off the wet umbrella and followed her in. The two of them fell asleep listening to the sound of the stormy weather and the sound of each other's heart beats.
