Hey guys! We got a new chapter! And this one I wrote it pretty quick and it's another long one. I wanted to update it on my birthday yesterday but with all the crazy snow stuff I forgot. So here is chapter 13 with some interesting things…you'll see what I mean soon!
Disclaimer: Monsters Inc is a film where everything is awesome but it is still Pixars' and not mine and that is not awesome…well for me I mean. Enjoy!
Lisa was sleeping on the couch as usual with one of her textbooks covering her face. It wasn't long until she felt something heavy jumped on top of her. Startled she almost jumped up, her book flying and landing on the wood floor.
"Huh, what? Where am I!?" she cried looking slightly confused.
Lisa realized that it was Snowy the dog who jumped on her. He stares at her, panting with his tongue sticking out.
"Oh, it's you. Get off of me" Lisa said pushing the dog off her lap.
Lisa was babysitting Boo for the whole weekend, her parents were both out of town. Her mother went to see a relative of hers who has been sick for days and her father was called in for a new case that was out of the state. Lisa didn't mind watching their kid for three days, but she also has to study for a test for the semester.
While thinking about Boo, the teenager looked up to the second floor. She's now noticing that she hasn't seen the girl for a while.
"Has she been up there all day?" Lisa thought. She slowly got up from the couch and walked upstairs to Boo's room. She grabbed the door knob but it wouldn't open. At first, Lisa thought the door was stuck as she turned and jiggled the knob, it turned out to be locked on the other side.
Confused by this, Lisa knocked on the door, "Mary? Mary are you awake?"
She heard nothing and continued to knock the door repeatedly.
"Mary?" she called out, "C'mon open the door!"
Lisa found this very odd as to why would Mary lock her door. She gives up and goes back down stairs to find the keys. Snowy stays behind sitting in front of the door, whimpering. He scratches the door with his paw, hoping that this will wake his little master up.
The two had no idea that is there is no one in that room.
It was nighttime already in the monster world. There was no one out at this hour, no lights, no cars and not even the stars in the night sky were out. There was an RV, driving on an empty road and going out of the city of Monstropolis. Everyone in it were all distressed and a little dumbfounded to the event that happened back at Monsters Inc.
Don still have no idea where was he going but didn't ask anyone and kept on driving. The Oozma brothers didn't say a word either, but after an hour of nothing but silence Squishy finally breaks that silence.
"Wha...what happened back there?"
"It's Waternoose" said Randall, "he's back."
"Oh dear, the company's former boss that was arrested two years ago?" asked Cherri.
"Yeah" said Sulley, "he caught us in the simulator room and he destroyed Boo's door."
"Say what!?" Terri cried.
"Why on earth would he do that?" asked Terry.
"We have no idea" said Mike who was laying on the RV's couch, "how did you guys escape?"
"It kinda happened really fast. We were like trying to calm everyone and then BAM! These big guys came out of nowhere" Art explained being a little over dramatic as he reacts their experience, "and they were like 'don't move and go against the wall' and we got outta there before they notice us."
"What I don't understand is how he was able to pull this off" said Randall who was pacing back and forth, "I know Waternoose, he's smart but not this clever. He mention escaping from prison a month ago but it's still not possible. Somebody must have help him."
"You know what's worse about this" said Celia covering her eye, "we managed to escape but we left everyone else behind. Oh Michel, what if something bad happens to them."
She starts to feel tears coming down to her face and her snakes squeaked in sadness too. The boys weren't even thinking about that until she brought it up. Their heads hanged in guilt and feeling really bad for the other monsters.
Mike goes to comfort his girlfriend, "Aw don't cry Celia, we'll go back and save them. I promise.
"Mike's right. We will go back but we have to take Boo home first, she not safe here" said Sulley as he looks down at the child. Boo fell asleep in the poka-dotted monster's arms, softly holding on to his fur as she peacefully snores.
"But you said Boo's door is gone and we don't have anything to fix it" Squishy sighed sadly, "there's no way."
"There has to be way" Randall said with determination, "we just need to think for a moment."
Everyone agreed with Randall and put on their thinking caps on to think of a plan.
"Why do we just put the door back together?" suggested Art.
"That took me a whole year to collect those wood pieces" said Mike, "now that it's shredded again it will probably take even longer."
"Okay forget that. How about we make a brand new door for Boo" said Terry.
Terri turned to his brother, "How do we do that bro?"
The idea was possible but could they really do that? The company really doesn't make the doors and they don't know a where the factory that makes them is located. Don suddenly blinked as an idea come to mind.
"Fellas let's go to Monsters University."
"Huh?" said everyone in unison.
"Remember? The university has its own lab where they study and make the doors" Don explained.
"That's right I completely forgot about that!" said Mike, "We'll go to the university, rebuild Boo's door, send her back home and go back to the factory to kick Waternoose's butt."
Every monster rooted for their plan but also yawn in exhaustion. They were pretty tired especially since the dodgeball game took a lot out of them.
"By tomorrow we'll head to the university" said Sulley, "let's rest up."
Don parked the RV to a near lit up street, he helps Cherri take the bed out from couch and another bed in a secret compartment. Sulley was going to sleep on the big bed due to his sizes with Boo next to him so he could keep an eye on her. The others slept on the bunk beds or sleeping bags. Randall slept on the lower bunk bed, curling his body like a lizard would to make himself comfortable.
It was about an hour or so when Randall felt something poking his face. He opened his drowsy eyes to see a small figure standing in front of him. He narrowed his eyes a little more to see it was Boo.
"Mary, what are you doing up?" Randall said with a yawn.
"I can't sleep" she whispered, "and Kitty took over the bed."
Randall turned to see that Sulley had took over the bed, arm and legs spread wide with loud snoring.
"Is okay if I sleep next to you?" asked the little girl.
Randall wasn't too fond about that idea, he never had anyone sleep next to him before. He wanted to tell Boo to find a sleeping bag for herself but she seemed a little scared to be by herself. There was still room on the bed, so Randall decided to let the girl be by him.
"C'mon." He moved over to the right as Boo climbed up to the left side of the bed. He handed over a second pillow to her where she rested her head. Randall's tail curled around her small figure, in case she rolled out the bed. He stayed up for a while waiting for her to fall back asleep.
"Randy?"
"Yeah?"
"Will I see mommy and daddy again?" she asked with a small crack of sadness in voice.
Randall felt something inside breaking, his heart that cracked in two. He felt this emotion before, it was when he made Boo cried and how he felt so guilty about it. Even in the darkness he could see that little girl is upset and she was looking right at him. He sighed and tries his best to comfort her.
"Of course you will, you'll see them again" he said.
"Promise?"
"I promise, you'll be safe with us and we'll get you back home" Randall pats Boo's cheek and pulls a lose hair strand out of her face.
"Get some sleep, tomorrow will be busy."
Boo yawned as she snuggled in her pillow and closed her eyes, "Goodnight Randy."
"Goodnight kiddo."
Randall also went back to sleep but there were thoughts buzzing in his head. He was worried about Boo's safety and still couldn't figure out why Waternoose is after her again. He swears to himself that he will protect her from that hideous monster. He only hopes that tomorrow won't be another catastrophe.
The next day the RV was back on the road.
Everyone was up and about, there wasn't much to eat since there not much food in the mini fridge. Boo was still asleep on the bunk bed. After two hours of driving they stopped by the Oozma's old house. Squishy went into the house to grab a toolbox from the basement, he suggested that they could use it to build a new door. They drove back on the road and finally made it to the university. Randall goes to the bed to wake up the child.
"Mary, we're here" he shook her gently.
Boo's eyes fluttered open and looked up at the lizard, "Are we there yet?"
"Yes we're here" said Randall as he picked her up and carried her out of the RV.
The monsters stood in front of the gates of the place where there adventures first begun. The small statues on top were stained with green from the years and the iron sign also rusted a little but it still stand tall. Sulley noticed a big lock around the gate.
"What's with this?" said Sulley examining the lock.
"Everyone was attending at the reunion, they must have closed the school for day until the reunion was over" Don guessed.
"So we have the whole place to ourselves?" cried Boo who was now fully awake.
"I guess so" said Randall as he puts Boo down.
The little girl walked over the gate to see what was on the other side, she couldn't see much of it and tried to pull on the locked gate. Of course, she wasn't strong enough to break the lock. Sulley pulled the lock a few times and broke its chains with his bare hands.
Sulley pushed the gate as it gave a loud squeak, opening wider for the monsters to come walk on the school grounds.
The brownish brick buildings still stood tall like before, the tress and the grass were still green as ever and the blue flag with the university's logo was still held up high on the poll. Boo was amazed at how big this place was, there were so many spots she wanted to explore. Even the monsters looked around as if they were coming here for the first time. They remembered some of the good times they had in the university. As the group walked across the bridge, Boo see Mike stopped on his track looking back at the buildings he passed. Curiously, Boo walked over to make and tapped his arm.
"Mikey, are you okay?" she asked.
Mike had a warm smile on his face, he sighed as nostalgia returns to him remembering the classes of scaring. He turned to Boo, still smiling.
"Yeah, it just…it's been a long time since I came here" he said.
"Do you miss coming back here?"
Mike frowned and admitted, "Yeah, I do. I wanted to come to this university ever since I was a little monster. Sulley and I took some special courses to earn our degree before we could work on the Scare Floor, but I wanted to graduate here."
Boo got closer and hugged her little green uncle, "It's okay Mike."
Mike sighed again and patted Boo's hand, "I know" he didn't want to think too much about it so he turn his frown upside down.
"Let's take you home Boo" he said as takes the girl's hand and catch up with the others.
The continued to walk on the campus as Mike pointed to familiar areas and telling more tales to Boo. He even showed her where the School of Scaring stood, it still looked just like it was when he first came to the university. Mike remembered what Dean Hardscrabble had said about the schools going through changes because of the laughter energy. Mike had no idea how it was going to work since some monsters argued that they should continue scaring and it had been that way for many decades. He figures that it wouldn't be too bad if the universities give laughter a chance.
"They're probably rename the building to School of Laughter" Mike thought, amusing himself.
The friends made it to the factuality they were looking for, the School of Door Tech. A grey building that was more flat than the rest. An art sculpture of red doors stood in front of the building. They all went in the building looking for the labs.
Squishy noticed Art walking away, "Hey Art, where you going?"
"I'm gonna go find a vending machine" said Art, "I'm hungry"
"Guys here it is" Mike called to the others.
He found the lab where the doors where made. It was a small lab with a giant machine in the middle of the room. Piles of wood laid on the left side while the doors that where painted and already made were on the right. The glass door to the lab was obviously locked and was needed a pass card.
"Uh-oh, how do we get in now?" asked Boo.
Mike thought of a trick as he walked away from the door then made a sharp turn and charged at it. This did not tuned out well. The little green monster fell backwards on his back yelping in pain. He only made a small dent on the metal of the door.
Randall rolled his eyes and goes to look at the card scanner.
"Hey Sullivan, help me out here."
Sulley use his strength to helped Randall removed the scanner to look into the wires. The lizard examined them and pulled a few wires out until he heard a click from the glass door. Randall was able to open the door and put a block to keep it open.
"Good work there Randall" said Don.
"Yeah well, that was my second idea" said Mike with a frown and rubbing his sore head.
"Oh of course it was" Randall humored him with a smirk.
As the friends entered the room, Art came back with his arms carrying many bags of chip and candy bars. He quickly follows his pals while dropping a trail of bag chips. Boo grabbed one from the floor, she was also hungry for chips.
"So how we do this?" asked Terri.
"I don't know" Terry replied to his brother, "I don't see an instruction book anywhere."
"This looks easy. All we do is put the wood in this thing and we make a door" said Mike who believed that he figure it out.
"Mikey, I think it's even more easier said than done" said Celia who wasn't too sure about it.
"We can totally do this" said Mike as he tried to carry a flat wood.
The twins and Squishy helped Mike carried the wood to the machine and pushed half of it in the slot. Mike push a blue button and it starts running. The machine took the wood and sallow it whole but instead of making a door, it spit out many pieces of it, turning it into sand. Mike was confused by this.
"Maybe you pressed the wrong button" Art said with a mouth full of chips.
Mike pushed a yellow button but nothing happed. Squishy pushed another button and machine made funny loud noise so he quickly turned it off.
"What are we doing wrong?" asked Squishy.
Sulley then turned to see a computer behind him, he goes and tuned it on. A blue screen lit up, showing a picture of the world and next to it was a search box.
"Hey wait a minute, we have to enter an address here?"
"What for?" said Mike who was still confused.
"Oh I see now, we have enter the address to Boo's home and the door would lead us to there" said Cherri.
"This is more complicated than I thought" Sulley said while rubbing the back of his head.
"I know my address" Boo was taught by her parents to always know the name of her address in case if she ever got lost.
"Okay we got that part but we still don't how to use the machine" said Randall trying to figure it out.
"There only one place we can look that has all the information" Mike said in a dramatic tone, "everyone to the library!"
"What the heck happened here!?" Mike cried.
The large library was completely empty. All of the books from every shelf in the room were all box up and stocked near a corner. The monsters felt that the room is even larger without the books. Boo however, was running around shouting 'echo' and hearing her voice echo back to her.
"Looks like there has been cleaning in here" commented Don.
Randall walked to a near box pulling out a book, "These are all books about scaring."
"So we just need to find one box that has all the door information" said Sulley.
Mike turned to his buddy with a wide eye, looking horrified, "Are you crazy Sul!? Look around you, it will take forever to find it!"
"We'll all spilt up, look in each one section, and we'll find it" Sulley with a positive tone.
So that's what everyone did in the library, looking through the many unlabeled boxes. It had been almost three hours and the monsters still couldn't find anything. Boo already got bored and stayed in one of the empty boxes, staring at nothing and singing quietly to herself. The others were also getting tried and fed up with the searching. They only found strange or scaring tip books than what they're looking for.
"The History of Toxic Humans: Vol 8" Sulley said out loud.
"The Many Fears of Jazz Clowns and other Phobias?" Celia read the title to herself.
"How to Date a 30ft Tall Monster? Oh this one sounds good" said Art as opened the book to the first chapter.
"Art, you're not dating a thirty-foot tall woman" said Terry.
"I may one day, you never know."
Mike just about had enough of searching as he growled in agitation, "Gah! This is hopeless! We'll never find those instructions in here."
"Yeah, I'm tired too" Boo complained.
"You didn't even help us kid" said Randall giving her a look.
"Hey I'm only four. I can't read textbooks with bigger words and there's no pictures" Boo pointed out.
"She's right" Mike said as he sighed in defeat, "We'll just have to look somewhere else."
The monsters were ready to leave the library when Mike bumped in to something, something really scaly like a bug's skin. He looked up and was shocked to see the one monster he never expect to see.
"Dean Hardscrabble!"
"Afternoon Mr. Wazowski. And please call me Abigail, I'm no longer a dean."
Boo made a small gasped and she pulled her hoodie to hide her face.
"Ms. Hardscrabble, you're okay!" cried Celia.
"Yes dear, I am" Hardscrabble said with calmness.
"Dean Ha- I mean Abigail how did you get here?" asked Sulley.
"Well, its long story" said Abigail, "but I think what's more important right now is taking the human back to her world."
The monsters stood very still and the room felt silent. Sulley felt small wet drops forming on his temple, Mike started at her like she had grown an extra pair of wings, and Randall felt petrified. Boo even felt scared when she see the half dragon and half centipede monster walked to her.
"It's all right little one, you can remove your disguise" said Abigail.
Boo glanced at Sulley who gave her a nodded. The little girl slowly left her hoodie off and looked up to Hardscrabble with curious eyes.
"Um…Hi" Boo said nervously.
"What is your name?" Hardscrabble had some emotion in her voice but her face was just a blank stare.
"I- I'm Mary."
"And how did you come to our world Mary?" asked Hardscrabble. Boo didn't not like the way this lady was asking her question. It felt more like an integration than a friendly talk.
"She here because of me" Sulley blurted out to get his old teacher's attention to him.
"She was the human I saved two years ago and I let her visit here all the time. I even let her visit us for the reunion party, she's the same human you saw that night. I was not being responsible and it's my fault."
"No! This is not Sulley's fault" Mike stood up, "I too share the blame. I was the one who brought her yesterday. But she isn't toxic, I know it sounds crazy but that's the truth."
The eyes of Hardscrabble had tuned narrow and cold, reminding the two friends that terrible day when they got kick out of the scaring program. The Oozmas, Celia, and Randall turned their attention somewhere else, but they know they're also in trouble.
"Sullivan and Wazowski, you know how dangerous it is to have a human exploring our world and yet to let her in" Hardscrabble remarked with bitterness, "You are the CEO Sullivan and you let this happen."
"I know and I'm sorry."
"Please don't be mad at them."
A pleased voice stopped the argument and every monster turn to the four year old. Her face was red and watery tears rolled down her face.
Boo stuttered in her sentence, "I just w-want-ted to se-e Kitty and M-Mike because they're m-my best friends. I-I love them, I- just wanted to visit-t them. I'm s-sorry Ms. Hardscrabble.
Sulley walked over to Boo, picked her up and give her a hug. He looked to Hardscrabble to her expression soften, something he never saw her do. She looked at the child then back to Sulley.
"You care for this child, don't you?" she already knew the answer but she wanted to make sure.
"Yes" Sulley said, "And we all care about her. She's like part of our family and I want to take her home to her other family."
The elderly monster understood, "I will help you take the child home. I know how to use the door laboratory, let us go back shall we."
"Wait, you do?" Mike asked in disbelief.
"Of course, I studied on other things than just scaring Wazowski."
They all left the library and made their way back to the grey building. The sky was the color of light purple as the sun set. Boo had calmed down, still hugging her poka-dotted monster as they walked. Randall was silent, he saw that Abigail was walking next to him.
"How did you escape?" he asked.
She didn't say anything for a few second and then she responded, "Those brutes where taking everyone to the cafeteria. I fought back and flew out of there. I called CDA but no one responded. I flew all night till morning came, then I saw your vehicle and followed you here."
That was all she said. She didn't bothered mentioning that she thought she saw something following her but it disappeared before she can look.
Randall still had some more question to ask her, he needed to know what was going on in the factory but they were already in the lab, so he told himself to wait.
Hardscrabble push in some numbers into the computer, Boo gave the monster her full name and address information. The computer had located where Boo lived as it zoom in the world map, marking the house in the picture neighborhood. Sulley and Randall pulled the heavy wood into the machine. The elderly monster told them the right buttons to push and machine turn the wood into a door, printed with the child's information.
Once the door was made, Mike painted it white and the pink flowers. Boo, Art, and Celia were playing tag as the others wait for the paint to dry. The last step was to put door in a metal frame so it hold on to the station. They took the new door to the room next to the lab and place it in the station.
"We did an awesome job!" said a proud Mike.
"We have to see if the door will activated" said Hardscrabble as she push the button. They wanted for red light turned on and once it did, everyone cheered.
"YEAH! We did it!" cried Art as his hugged his brothers.
"Thank you so much you guys" Boo jumped for joy.
She turned to Hardscrabble and smiled to her, "Thank you for helping me."
Sulley kneeled down, ruffling the girl's hair, "Well Boo, it's time to go home"
"And once she does" said Hardscrabble, "We will have to destroy the door after."
The girl's smile faded, her and every monster sharply turned to the elderly monster with big bug eyes and hanging mouths.
"WHAT!?"
"What do ya mean destroy it!? I worked hard putting all that detail on the flowers" Mike cried crossing his arms.
"I'll will explained later, the child has to go home first."
"No" Boo said firmly.
Hardscrabble looked at the child with narrowed eyes, "What did you say?"
"I don't want my door destroyed" Boo said and was getting frustrated with this woman.
Hardscrabble took a deep breath, she was not that very good with kids but with no other choice she will have to explain.
"Little one, you are in grave danger. It is best that you go home now and don't come back, it is what's best for both of our worlds."
"What do you mean danger?" asked Randall, "What's Waternoose up to?"
"He plaining to have all the monsters to forcibly kidnap children" Hardscrabble said with no hesitation.
They all gasped by this new information. This confirmed to what Randall was thinking about all day, Waternoose was going to finish what he started.
"Oh my goodness" Cherri whispered to herself.
"That is why the child has to return home now."
"Abigail please" Sulley tried to change her mind, "she can stayed home until we can fix this problem but don't destroy her door. I haven't seen her in almost a year and-"
"She needs to be somewhere safe and home is where she belongs. Don't be selfish Sullivan!"
"He's not being selfish, we all love her!" Celia cried.
"Please don't this!" Mike tried to convince Hardscrabble as well, "We'll do anything!"
Even the brothers of Oozmas plus Cherri pleased but the elderly monster was not changing her mind. Boo was shaking in dread, the thought of being away from her friends forever just frightened her to the core. She didn't want to go through that again.
"Okay then."
The monsters stop their babbling when they heard someone spoke out. Boo turned to Randall who was frowning, clutching his hands into fist as he started at Hardscrabble.
"If this the only way to protect Mary, then we'll do it" he said.
"Randall you gotta be kidding me" Mike said.
"I'm not. I'm being serious."
"Randy no" Boo cried, "If you let her get rid of my door…I'll never see you guys again."
He honestly didn't want to agree to this but it was for her own good. He loved being with the human kid, but in the back of his mind he thought that their friendship wouldn't last forever. He thought that she will move on with other things and lived a happy and better life. Just like kids who had out grown their imagination friends or stop believing in monsters. Randall sighed in sadness, he looked down at the girl with grim yet painful frown.
"I know this hard for you Mary but…it's for the best."
He sees that the little girl was whipering, tears threaten to fall out from her chocolate brown eyes. He tried to act like he didn't noticed.
"But you'll be fine. Just because you don't have a door, that doesn't mean we're gone forever. We'll never forget you. We'll always be with you and wherever you go in your heart."
He knew that last part was cheesy but he couldn't think of anything original.
"That's the stupidest thing I ever heard!" Boo yelled at him with a red face and warm streaming tears.
"Hey you were worrying that you'll never see your parents again!" Randall snapped back.
"I changed my mind" Boo lied, "I don't want to go home!"
"I'm only doing this to protect you from Waternoose! Now do what Hardscrabble said and go home!" the lizard stood on his toes as he raised his voice, making himself look taller.
"NO!"
"YOU LITTLE BRAT!"
"Randall stop!" Sulley tried to calm his friend down.
"I'M NOT GOING HOME!"
"YES YOU ARE!"
"MAKE ME YOU DUMB LIZARD!"
Then Randall did the unthinkable, he roared right at her face and stopped when he realized what he had done. Hardscrabble was taken aback by this, but everyone else took a step back in fright. The Oozmas have not known Randall for long but for Mike and Sulley, they have never seen the lizard this ferocious before.
Randall started at the ground for seconds and looked at all of his friend's faces of fear. He had no idea what came over him. But the worst part was how Boo started at him. It was like déjà vu, the same look that she gave him with the whimpering lip and flowing tears. The differnce was in her eyes, it was a look of fear.
Randall scared her.
"M-Mary…I didn't mean-"
He tried to explain but the four year old took off crying. Randall raised his hand as if he was trying to reach her but he just stood there. His fronds lowered in shame.
It was once again dark outside as Boo kelp running, not looking up to see where she was going. She eventually stopped to rub her eyes with her tentacle hands. She sniffed and reassured herself and control her heavy breathing. She saw that she was alone which didn't bothered her surprisingly.
She didn't want to be around with anyone right now, especially Randall.
"Why did he do that?" she talked to herself, "I thought he was my friend."
She sluggishly walked around the trees and gardens while staring at nothing. She kicked her feet at some pebbles and pulled out the bushes' leaves, examining it like any little kid would.
She kept walking until stumble on a big area that looked like the university's football stadium. She sat down on the very first rock-like stool she saw and cried to herself. She didn't even noticed someone approaching her.
"Boo? Is that you?"
Boo stooped crying and turned to see a bat-like monster behind her. She jumped back a little but then realized who it was.
"Barson!" she cried and jumped up to hug him.
Barson did not expected this but did his best to return the hug.
"What are you doing here?" the girl asked.
Barson explained his story.
"Before I left the factory I saw these thugs breaking in. I tried to see what was happening, but no luck. I did see one monster broke free and I followed her here. Now, what are you doing here?"
"Oh, me and my friends escape too. And well…" Boo wasn't sure what else to say to Barson. He doesn't know she a human and she can't tell him that or tell him that she tried to go back to the human world.
"What's wrong sweetie?" Barson tried to warm up her, "You can tell me."
Boo's tears were returning, her voice cracked a little.
"I-I got in a fight with my friends and I kinda got myself lost."
Barson felt sorry for the small child, "Oh Boo I'm sorry."
He patted her hoodie head as he tried to comfort her. Boo looked up at him, smiling and he smiled back.
"C'mon now, let's find our way back to your friends and fix this mess" said Barson.
He gently took her tentacle hand and two walked off from the field together.
"Thanks Barson" said Boo.
Meanwhile back at the door lab, the monsters got over their shock to happen in front of them. Randall however felt extremely guilty, he felt like his heart was hurting his insides. He turned to Sulley to make a quick apology.
"Sullivan I-I'm sorry. I don't know what happen but…I didn't mean it I just-"
"It's okay" Sulley said resting his hand on Randall's shoulders" You were just worried about her safety, I understand."
The lizard just blinked, "What? But I-"
"But you shouldn't yelled at her like that yes, but I'm not upset at you."
"Sul right" said Mike, "Boo can be a fussy girl at times, but you got a little carried away there. Just saying."
"Sorry to be rude but we have to find the child right now." said Abigail Hardscrabble.
"She's right, we need to find Boo" said Sulley.
"And we have hurry so we can stop Waternoose from activating his machine."
Randall's frond raised to what Hardscrabble had said, "Did you say machine?"
Sulley worriedly glanced at Randall and back at his old teacher, "Please tell me it's not a machine that steals children's screams."
The old monster nodded, "I'm afraid so, I overheard his minions about finishing building it. I'm sorry I forgot to tell you that."
"Is there other things we should know about?" asked Terry.
"Yeah my head is hurting already" Terri said rubbing his head.
Randall was busy thinking, lost in his own mind and trying to figure out what Hardscrabble said.
"This just doesn't make sense" he said a little irritated "Waternoose doesn't know how to build anything to save his life, plus he needs the blueprints to build the machine."
"And where are the blueprints?" Hardscrabble asked.
"I found them in the basement" said Randall, "but I threw them out. I gave them to-"
And that's where everything hit him. All of those missing plot holes that didn't made sense to him, became clear. A flashback came to his mind.
"I want you to get rid of these."
"Are you sure, Mr. Boggs?"
"I'm positive."
"…..Oh-no…."
Randall fell to his knees, staring at the ground as realization reveal to him something terrible. He couldn't believe he didn't see the signs. He felt that the guy was odd but he didn't suspect anything.
"Randall, what's wrong?" Mike asked worried.
"How can I be so stupid?" the lizard whispered to himself.
"What? What is it?" Mike asked again,
"It…it was him. He gave them to Waternoose."
Suddenly the monsters heard a horrifying pitch scream. Randall turned to see an opened window that lead to outside. He knows that scream, he heard it many times before from the past.
"Mary!"
