Hey guys! Sorry it took so long, my laptop charger broke so I couldn't finish this chapter. I'm also very sorry if it's not up to my usual standard but I did try. Enjoy!
Anyway, I do not own OHSHC just my characters
Well summer had been and gone. Much to my displeasure. I had forgotten that I had to go back to school today and so I stayed up all night. I feel dead. I looked in the mirror to find someone with messy hair, bags under her eyes and a hunched back. I wiped the sleep out of my eyes and stuck my head out of the door to tell the maid to call for my stylist.
The stylist came and fixed me up. I put the ugly dress on and had my breakfast with two cups of coffee. That's the good stuff! I finished getting ready and jumped into my limo. I'm kind of excited to see my friends again.
After the trip, I didn't spend time with the guys except just calling them on the phone. Me and the twins spoke pretty much every day. It was like we couldn't get enough of each other. I really liked it. I still spoke to the others, I gave some sweet recipes to Honey-senpai, I practiced my French with Tamaki-senpai, Haruhi asked questions about England and I spoke to Kyouya-senpai about homework. After the countless of times he tried to explain it and I still didn't get it, he hung up. Kevin was okay I guess. He had been acting really strange lately though.
We arrived at the school and I ran out of the vehicle. I rushed to my classroom, dodging every single individual with amazing skills! I barged into the room and sat on my desk. I was breathing heavily but I don't care! My breathing returned to normal and I looked up to find none of my friends there. Where is everyone?
Soon the devils themselves came in chatting away with Haruhi. They looked up to see me and a smile grew on their faces. I jumped off my desk and hugged them. Maybe a little too tightly. I told them I missed them.
"What are you talking about? We spoke to you nearly every day." The twins chorused.
"I know but I needed to see your faces to cheer me up!" I retorted.
"I missed you too Eve." Haruhi said.
We returned to our seats and continued to joke around and had a laugh. When the lesson started I couldn't stop staring at Hikaru. We've grown so close that if we stopped talking, I knew something would be up. Maybe since we're this close I should tell him how I feel? I feel like I'm just putting it off and who knows? He may feel the same.
He turned to look at me and I looked the other way as a blush appeared on my face. When the heat in my cheeks subsided I turned to face him again, he just smiled at me. I picked up a textbook to hide my face. Why is he doing this to me?
Lunch arrived and we all met up, including Kevin. Kevin seemed a bit clingy lately. I looked in my bag to grab my lunch but when I slid my hand in there, I found nothing. Crap! I forgot to make it. My stomach grumbled and I lowered me head to the table.
"What's the matter Evie-chan?" The short blonde asked.
"She forgot her lunch. Here have some of mine." Kevin said.
I lifted my head. Kevin held my chin as he spoon fed me! What was he doing?! But the food was good though… that's not the point here! Everyone was staring at me! I then saw Hikaru had clenched his fists and smacked them on the table before walking off with his brother in tow. I spit out the spoon and tried to run after him.
When I ran to the corridor, they were nowhere to be found. I kept on searching but no sign of either of them. I made my way to a stair case and sat on the bottom step and sighed. Why was Hikaru acting that way? Does he hate Kevin? Was he jealous? I just don't get it!
"What's going on?!" I yelled.
"What was that?" I heard someone asked.
It sounded familiar. Could it be? I ran up the stairs and peeked round the corner. I was right; its Hikaru and Kaoru! Hikaru was sulking while leaning on the wall and it seems Kaoru is trying to calm him down? I'm not sure.
"Stop changing the subject! The younger devil shouted.
"Why is she okay with him flirting with her?!" Hikaru replied.
"Did you see the look on her face? She was just as surprised as we were!"
Should I tell him? I should do something right? I stepped back until the top of the step. Okay I should act like I didn't hear a thing! How am I going to play this? I just need to hurry up and do this! I know I'll just pretend like I'm still trying to find him!
"Hikaru? Where are you? Kaoru? Come on guys, where are you?"
I turned the corner to find the twins looking awkward. I mentally smirked. However the concern in my eyes was genuine. I should really explain. Kaoru excused himself saying if we were late he would excuse for us. Was that the reason? Or was it to just leave us alone?
"Hikaru… I didn't plan this. I don't even know why he's been so clingy." I explained.
"Really?"
"A-and there's something else…" My cheeks began to heat up.
"What is it?"
"Well for a while… I mean I kinda have fee-"
"Hey Hikaru, I'm looking forward to the Host Club tonight!" A girl said.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!"
"Yeah it will be great. Anyway Eve was there something you were going to tell me?" He turned back but I already turned the corner as he did.
As if that just happened! I can't even tell him I like him! I feel absolutely embarrassed! I just ran to the next class without Hikaru catching me. During the lesson I avoided looking at him completely. We had the perfect moment back there and that stupid, ditzy girl had to ruin it! I groaned as I lowered my head to my desk and folded my arms. I just want to just get this day over and done with.
It was time for the Host Club. I was the first one there and went straight to the kitchen and made some cookies. The rest of the gang arrived and we all got ready for the guests. I kept my distance from the twins and did my duties as a Hostess. Naturally, Kevin was there.
"You're not mad for earlier are you?" He asked me.
"Well I'm not, what was up with that anyway?"
He didn't say anything but just looked at the twins. I followed his gaze and stared at them also. Did he have something against them? They were entertaining guests right now and didn't even notice us at all. I turned back to Kevin. Why is he doing this?
"Do you remember the promise we made when we were kids?" He asked.
"What promise?" I shook my head no.
"We promised to always stay together. No matter what."
"I get that this promise is important to you but I have other friends as well. Didn't you have other friends before finding out I was here?"
"Well yeah…"
"And you completely abandoned them and came back to me. That isn't fair on them. I have these guys and you. I hang out with all of you equally." I explained.
He understood but kept looking at the twins for some reason. Throughout the club hours Hikaru kept looking at me. I should really explain why I've been acting funny… At the end of the club, all the guests went home and I began to clean up. I grabbed some plates and as I turned around someone bumped into me!
"Woah!" It was Hikaru?
He caught a couple of plates as they fell out of my hands. Luckily we didn't drop any at all. Why did he bump into me in the first place? He could've gone around me! Or maybe he wanted to talk? I guess I should get it over with, right? I mentally sighed.
"Eve, your favourite singer is Utada Hikaru right?" He asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"Well we could go to her concert if you want?" He offered.
"That's a great idea!" Tamaki-senpai shouted as he ran to us.
"Yeah it sounds like fun, right Takashi?" Honey-senpai asked his cousin.
"Yeah." He replied.
"I guess I should also attend so Tamaki won't get us in a mess." Kyoua-senpai said.
"Well I don't want to go." Haruhi objected.
"Why not?! You should go!" Tamki-senpai argued.
For the remainder of the time, Tamaki-senpai and Haruhi argued why she didn't want to go. I looked over to Hikaru, he seemed… disappointed? I'm not sure. Maybe he just wanted us to go? Everyone laughed at the scene in front of them. Kaoru kept looking at his brother's saddened expression and I couldn't help but do the same.
"Hey cheer up! We're gonna have fun right?" I asked while I nudged Hikaru.
The next morning I was woken up to a phone call. God dammit! My friends really like to piss me off in the morning, don't they? Maybe if I just ignore them, they'll hang up. I covered my ears with my pillow hoping they would hang up. My hopes were crushed. I picked up the phone.
"Who has a death wish?! I'm sleeping!" I answered.
"Don't you dare talk to your daddy like that! We need a plan to get Haruhi to come to the concert!" I'll give you one guess who said that.
"Well why come to me? I'm not the genius one in the group. Ask Kyouya-senpai." I replied.
"I've got it! You will call her and ask to spend the day with her. We will all come with you to knock on the door and hide. Then we will grab her and take her with us!"
"Fine but if she flips I'm blaming you." With that, I hung up.
I had gotten myself ready and not too long after, the doorbell rang. The maid told me it was a couple of boys ready to pick me up. That narrows down to the small, adorable, blonde boy and his cousin or the devils. I went to meet the visitors and I was wrong. It was Tamaki-senpai and Kyouya-senpai. Before I could say anything Tamaki-senpai dragged me to his limo and we drove off.
He went over the plan with the others while we were driving to Haruhi's. I didn't want to be a part of this but I am looking forward to spend some time with the guys at a concert. We arrived at her apartment and set the plan in motion. Haruhi is gonna kill me after this! I knocked on the door and she answered.
"You're not gonna like this." I warned.
Soon the twins grabbed her and carried her to the limo and we all drove off. She was yelling at us saying that this was kidnapping and she was right. She didn't want to go and the rest of us did but we shouldn't have forced her. Tamaki-senpai and Honey-senpai were crying while the twins were poker faced as normal. Mori-senpai just tried to calm his cousin down from his crying session. I sighed and looked out the window. This is just taking the fun out of it.
We arrived at the concert before it was stated. Now I just want to get it over and done with. "Daddy" was jumping around and the same goes for Honey-senpai. We all gathered near the front of the stage. However Tamaki-senpai was hiding something. What is he up to?
"Guess what I have? Back stage passes!"
That made me perk up a bit! I get to meet… Utada… Hikaru! Now it was my turn to jump up and down! We all went back stage to meet my favourite singer. So far we couldn't find her but it was very busy. There were people running about and through those busy people I saw someone familiar. It's Kiko!
"Kiko! Hey Kiko! Remember me?" I called.
"Eve right? The talented girl from Ouran?" She remembered.
"Yup! So what are you doing here? I thought you were starting your music career?"
"I am. I'm the opening act." She smiled.
Wow! I told her I couldn't wait to hear her sing and then she had to get changed. I'm surprised the others haven't asked how I knew her. Oh well, they don't have to know everything I suppose. I couldn't stop smiling! Maybe this will be a good time after all? Suddenly I hear a yelp and we all came rushing to the voice. It was Kiko! She's sitting on the floor, rubbing her ankle.
"What's wrong?" Haruhi asked.
"I twisted my ankle, I can't perform!" She said.
"What are we going to do? We need an opening act!" The stage manager cried.
All the Hosts looked at me while smiling. Uh oh. I backed away. I-I can't perform! I get nervous! I mean there's probably thousands and thousands of people out there! Heck maybe millions if they broadcast this! The Hosts crept closer until Mori-senpai grabbed my shoulders and pushed me in front of the stage manager. I gulped.
"She can perform!" The twins chorused.
Great.
"Can she sing?" The stage manager asked.
They all nodded.
Great.
The band came up to me and asked what was going to happen. The stage manager said that apparently I was doing the opening act. They all looked me up and down twice and looked back to the man that brought them the news in shock. They turned back to me.
"So what do you want to sing?" One of them asked me.
"Um… do you know Sakura Kiss?" I asked.
They all nodded and I was then shoved into the changing rooms to get changed into something 'appropriate' as they said. I was given a layered dress of purple, pink and blue with a black corset. The dress itself came down to my knees and I also had black pumps. A stylist barged in (luckily I was changed) and I was pushed to a chair in front of a vanity table. She then teased my hair a little and put a little make up on me and walked out again. Surprisingly that took less time than when the twins did it for my birthday party. I walked out and crept past Kiko who had her leg in a bandage.
"Break a leg." She said.
Kill me now!
I was given a wireless microphone and all the Hosts gave me a thumbs up. I was then introduced as a substitute for the opening act. The music started and I nervously stepped on stage. Everyone was cheering. I began to sing and started to get into the song! I'm having a blast! I ran across the stage and gave people a high five. Without the Hosts this wouldn't have happened. Then the instrumental part came.
"Without these guys, I wouldn't be here. So give it up for the Hosts from Ouran Academy!" I shouted.
Everyone cheered even louder as they all came on stage. It was getting towards the end of the song and so I leaned on Kyoua-senpai, spun round Tamaki-senpai, picked up and spun Honey-senpai around, high-fived Mori-senpai, hugged Haruhi, gave Kaoru a noogie and Hikaru spun me and I landed next to his chest. As I sang the last line, I looked deeply into Hikaru's eyes and blushed.
After the song we all ran back stage and I said that I couldn't believe what happened. Everyone hugged me. I'm so proud of myself! I just sang to so many people I would probably lose count! I went to Kiko and she smiled at me.
"You're very talented. I'm glad you did it." She said.
"I wish you were up there with me." I replied.
"You're very good. Have you decided to sing as a career?" A voice said behind me. I turned around and it's Utada Hikaru!
"W-well I-I K-kinda-"
I fell back and that's all I can remember.
I woke up with the Hosts crowding around me. I felt a wet cloth on my head. I guess I blacked out. I smiled and shrugged it off as the twins helped me up. They told me my favourite singer rushed to them and asked for their help. She was told that they can handle me and she left to sing on stage. I kinda feel bad, she was being nice and in return I fainted.
So we enjoyed the rest of the concert and even the Hosts were having a good time. After that I asked for Utada's autograph without fainting this time. We even danced a little and me and Hikaru just had a laugh the whole way through. It was getting late and we figured Ranka would be pissed knowing that we kidnapped his daughter so we all got in a limo and left.
I was so tired I fell asleep on Hikaru's shoulder. When I woke up, we were at my house and the only ones left in the limo, other than me, were the two third years and the twins. I yawned and stretched before I stepped out of the vehicle and turned to the guys.
"Thanks guys, today has been amazing. I'll see you tomorrow." I smiled.
I went home and the maids and Mrs Humphrey greeted me. I did the usual and ate my dinner and then I decided to do some homework. It was French, just my luck! The language was never really my forte. I sighed irritably and picked up my phone. I rang the one person that always gets on my nerves: Tamaki-senpai.
"Can you help me with my French homework?" I asked.
"I'll be glad to! But didn't you learn French in England?"
"Well yeah but it doesn't mean I'm good at it." I replied.
So for a couple hours, my 'daddy' helped me. It was nice; there was no emotional drama or outburst, no idiocy just some friends helping each other. Like it should be. After that, we called it a night and I went to bed. I couldn't get to sleep for the usual reason but also 'cause I had a nap in the limo. Which means I'm going to need plenty of coffee in the morning.
I was on my way to school after having many cups of coffee and I was pretty much in a good mood. I was excited to see the guys and Kevin. I need to tell him what happened yesterday! I arrived at Ouran and was ready for the day. This time I remembered my lunch. I don't want any repeats of last time.
I entered the school and as normal I was early. I barely saw anyone but when I did see a student they would smile or wave. It was really strange. I went into the classroom and sat in my seat. Everyone else came in as typical and the lesson was boring as always. It was Japanese History so I had to write as many historical figure names since I couldn't remember them all.
The rest of the day went on as normal but Kevin was acting stranger than usual. I had told him about the concert but whenever I mentioned the Hosts, he seemed hostile. When the club was opened for business, He was even more clingy than usual. He kept hugging me and kept feeding me cake. Don't get me wrong, I love cake but I was seriously worried about Kevin. Every time I went to offer some cake to the other guests or even go near the twins, Kevin would call me back straight away. Whenever that happened, the devils would always give him the evils.
By the time the club was over, I slumped on the sofa and sighed in relief. As the guests began to clear out, I made my way to change back into my uniform. When I stepped back into the main room Kevin was still there. He was fidgeting in the middle of the room. Why hasn't he gone home? I looked at the other Hosts and they all shrugged their shoulders.
"Can I talk to you in private?" He asked.
"Sure, I guess?" He then grabbed my wrist and exited into the corridor.
"There's something I need to tell you." He said.
"What is it?" I tilted my head to the side.
"The truth is; I really like you. I have been for a while but you were too busy hanging out with those guys to even notice. I care about you and I want you to be happy and I hope that I can make you happy." He confessed.
"Kevin, I appreciate you took the courage to tell me how you feel but I've known you for most of my life and I see you as a best friend, nothing more, nothing less. I'm sorry and I hope it doesn't get awkward between us." I replied.
"There's another guy, isn't there?"
I nodded.
"I understand." He smiled and walked away.
I sighed. I hope he's okay. I really don't have feelings for him in that way. I walked back into the Host Club to find everyone was whistling and looking busy except Haruhi, who is reading a textbook, and Hikaru who's just standing in the middle of the room facing away from me. It was scary; he was like someone in a horror movie. You know, when a victim is standing in the middle of the room and when you walk up to them and as soon as you're about to touch their shoulder, they turn with a demonic face and scream 'til your eardrums burst? Yeah like that. I walked steadily up to him. He seems completely still like a statue. As soon as I touched him, he jumped.
"Are you okay? Are you worried about something?" I smiled.
"Uh, yeah I'm fine." He said.
"Well come on and help me clean up then!"
I grabbed his wrist and dragged him to clean up the dirty plates. You know, when I think about it, Kevin was brave enough to tell me how he feels, so what's stopping me? I kept looking at Hikaru, he hasn't shown much interest in any other girl, not even with any of his guests. That's it! I'm going to tell him as soon as I can!
