The sound of the door opening pulled her from her hard won sleep, she managed to open her eyes enough to see Emily enter, but she was so exhausted in evert possible way that she drifted right back to sleep.

Hanna had called her, but it had taken a while for her mother to sleep so she could sneak out. Pam had been more restricting since Mona's almost murder and Alison's arrest. She walked over to the bed and felt her heart clench at the sight of her girlfriend. Paige looked so young and vulnerable, a pillow squeezed tightly between her arms. Emily brushed a few strands of hair from her forehead and leaned down to press a soft kiss to it. She took off her shoes and her jeans, tossing them, and her jacket onto the chair in the corner and slipped in behind her girlfriend. She pulled Paige closer, wrapping her body around her and kissed her shoulder. She hated that it had come to this, but she planned to make sure that Paige knew that she wasn't alone.

When Paige opened her eyes the next morning, she was confused, she definitely wasn't in her room. Her chest tightened and her heart dropped through the bed as it all came back to her. It was then that she realised that she wasn't alone in bed. A tanned arm was wrapped around her waist, and she turned her head to find Emily looking at her.

"Hi." She rasped, turning on her back to stare up at the ceiling.

"Hey." Emily cuddled into her, tucking her head under her girlfriend's chin.

Paige wrapped her arms around Emily, she sighed loudly, not wanting to leave this bed, this room. She wasn't ready to face all that had happened last night. She could feel Emily's hand creep under her shirt, tracing slow soothing circles on her stomach.

This moment between the two of them needed no words, they took comfort and gave comfort as needed. All through their cuddles, and Paige felt the band around her heart loosen a little. This was all A. If they could get just one small clue they could find A and when they did everything would go back to normal. Caleb would be working on decrypting the files that he had gotten off the computer, they were all anxious to see if he found anything worthwhile on it. Right now it was their only chance at ending all of this.

Knocking in the door drew their attention away from their thoughts. They separated, in case it was Ashley, and sat up against the headboard. "It's open."

Hanna's hand was over her eyes as she cracked the door open and put her head around it. "Is it safe?"

Paige couldn't help the small smile that tilted up her lips as she shook her head. "Yes, Hanna. It's safe."

Hanna slowly dropped her hand, and then climbed onto the bed with them. "So my mom said you're welcome to spend the day at home, she said you could skip, she'd phone the school and explain."

Paige shook her head, "Tell your mom I appreciate it, but I need to go." She go out of bed and ran a hand through her hair, "When we take A down I need to still sort out everything with Stanford, can't let anything slip."

"Okay, I'll let her know. Breakfast in a bit okay?"

With a nod Paige walked into the bathroom, after opening the water and stripping she got in, revelling at the feeling of some of the tension in her shoulders releasing under the hot spray.

"Is she okay?" Hanna asked Emily after they heard the shower start.

"We didn't speak about it yet, but I know she's going to try and be strong, so I won't push it. Let her come to me when she's ready." Emily couldn't help but glance at the bathroom door a few times as she spoke, and after the third time Hanna shook her head and laughed.'

"Just go. I'll see you inside." Hanna shook her head again and left.

Emily headed straight to the bathroom, stripping as she went.

Paige started when arms wrapped around her, but she relaxed after Emily kissed her cheek.

"Hanna said breakfast will be ready in a little bit." Emily murmured as she rested her chin on her girlfriend's shoulder. "Are you okay?'

Paige pushed the wet hair out of her face and leaned back, her hands splayed over the forearms wrapped around her. She shook her head, "No, but we'll make this right, right?"

"Right." Emily smiled drawing a small smile from her girlfriend when she turned to meet her eyes. They kissed softly, their lips sharing the love they felt. When Emily pulled away, Paige's eyes stayed closed, the smile still playing on her lips. "Come on, let's get done before Mrs. Marin comes looking."

The sympathetic smile Ashley Marin gave her when she walked in was enough for a lump to form in her throat.

"Morning girls." Ashley greeted, her eyebrow quirking slightly as Emily slipped into the door, but to her credit that was the only thing that gave away her surprise. She took out another plate and slipped it in front of Emily. "Paige? Mind if I have a word?" She jerked her head to the hallway.

"Sure." Paige stood, putting the cup of coffee she had just poured on the table, and followed her tp the entrance of the Marin household.

"I want you to know, that you're welcome to stay as long as you need to." Ashley placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, "I want you to know that if you need to talk, I'm here okay?" When Paige nodded, trying hard to hold it together, she continued, "And now to some house rules, Hanna is not allowed to have Caleb in her room, and I'm going to have to ask you to stay in the main house when Emily is over."

Paige's eyes darted to the floor, a slight blush tinting her cheeks, "Of course Mrs. Marin, your house, your rules."

Ashley nodded at her words, "Are you sure I shouldn't call the school?"

"I'm sure." There was a few seconds of silence and Paige finally looked up, meeting the older woman's eyes. "Thank you, for what you're doing for me."

Ashley smiled, "Come on, you can't go to school on an empty stomach." With an arm around Paige's shoulders she led them back onto the kitchen.

Caleb was tapping away, the thumping of the music not distracting him from his task. Paige, sitting right next to him, could not focus at all as she watched her girlfriend move across the floor. Sure they had danced at the Ho Down and at the Ice Ball, but she had never seen Emily move like this. It was incredible. What made it even better was the looks Emily kept giving her through the mirror. Her attention was pulled away from her girlfriend when Caleb sat back rubbing his eyes.

"It's so wrapped up that I feel like I'm getting nowhere in the slowest, most complicated way." He explained when he caught her staring at him curiously. "Whatever is on that computer must be something real good." He rolled his head and flexed his hands and his fingers moved across the keyboard again. She could see him beginning to get frustrated, so she decided to call a lunch break, to which the girls readily agreed to.

The girls settled on a light meal, they still had some practicing to do before the Pageant coach came to see Hanna's talent. Somehow they managed to keep the conversation light and away from any A discussion, and for a few moments they were just a bunch of friends hanging out.

Paige decided to try and get some of her homework done, while the girls continued practicing, and Caleb got back to attempting to decrypt the files. The thoughts buzzing in her head made it hard to concentrate, and she found herself wondering if things with her parents would come right after the A business was done, or if too much was said and done. She needed to find a job, to help carry her load at the Marin's as well as to be able to buy the things she needed. She had some money saved up, but it wouldn't last her the rest of the school year. This train of thought led her to thinking about Stanford, she needed a game plan, if they decided to pull out of her scholarship, and she didn't know what she'd be doing next year. It's not like she could afford to pay her tuition herself no matter how many jobs she crammed into one day.

Before she knew it, Caleb was pulling her out of the room to leave the girls with the coach. They ended up at the Brew, and after fifteen minutes of staring at a math problem, Paige gave up, instead striking up a conversation with Caleb about what he was doing. He was in the middle of explaining finding a code to create an app around in order to get around the encryption when windows opened and code started running, and suddenly the folder opened and they were gifted with video and picture files. They stared at the icons in awe, and then glanced at each other.

"Open one." Paige urged, shifting her chair closer.

Caleb clicked on the pictures, deciding to start there and they shifted through electronic versions of the pictures that decorated A's lair, as well as some others. They were on the edge of their seats as the mouse pointer hovered over the first video, he clicked it and CCTV styled footage started up.

It was Alison, sitting alone in a park on the swing set. They watched her nervously glance around, and then glance down at her phone. She made a call that didn't last long, and then something seemed to spook her, causing her to flee to her car.

"Why would A have this?" Caleb wondered as he started the footage again.

"Wait." Paige leaned forward, her focus on the corner of the screen, she grabbed his arm. "Caleb. We need to show this to the girls."

The Hastings house seemed to be the spot to have all their meetings, the girls were there when they walked in, and after Paige kissed Emily's cheek in greeting, they crowded around the laptop and Caleb played the video. There was silence after they watched it.

"What's so special about it?" Hanna asked in a bored tone, focusing on inspecting her nails.

"Play it again, this time look at the right bottom corner." Paige urged, and the girls moved even closer.

The video wasn't even halfway when Spencer gasped, drawing their attention away from it. "The date and time. That was when Mona was attacked. This could get her out of prison."

"I thought we agreed that Alison was the brains even if she wasn't the brawn?" Aria questioned.

"I don't think she's A." Paige said before the discussion could go any further.

"Why? Because she told you about Cyrus?" Emily turned to face her girlfriend, confusion plain on her face. "What makes you think she didn't lie and that Cyrus only had something to tell us because A threatened him and did what she did to make the stories line up?"

"Because, why would she lie Em? She's already lost so much, the evidence against her is piling up. What else does she have to lose by lying to the only person who doesn't believe that she's A?"

Everyone turned to stare at her.

"What?" Emily gasped, "Is that why you went to see her?"

"No, I went because it looked like Hanna needed some support." Paige shrugged, moving forward to take her girlfriends hands in her own, meeting her eyes. "I don't think she's lying about this Em."

"We've been fooled by her before Paige. She hasn't always been forth coming with what she knows." Spencer folded her arms across her chest, not seeming very impressed with Paige's argument.

"Then go to her, give her the benefit of the doubt and listen to what she says. She might just reveal some secrets that could help us figure this out." Paige urged, meeting all of the girls eyes, stopping when she got to Emily's.

Silence filled the kitchen as they thought this through.

"Okay." Emily broke it, not looking all that convinced, "We'll go, but that doesn't mean anything."

"Fine." The rest of the girls chorused in.

Emily couldn't sleep, she turned onto her back and sighed. She was a little mad at Paige, and confused that her girlfriend of all people was supporting Alison. She sat up, bracing herself on her elbows when her window slid open slowly, and her girlfriend, illuminated by the moon light slipped into the room.

"Em?" Paige moved closer to the bed, "I thought you'd be asleep by now."

Emily shimmied up into a sitting position, switching the bedside lamp on. "I couldn't sleep."

"Can I?" She gestured to the bed, sitting down in front of Emily once she got the okay. "Talk to me, I want us to be okay."

"I'm just surprised that you're in her corner, after everything she's done to you." Emily fiddled with the blankets.

Paige scooted forward, covering Emily's hands with her own, "I'm in your corner Emily, and I am always going to be in your corner. It's just… I'd feel so bad if someone loses so much of their life because I was mistaken. I'm not going to believe everything Alison says just because, but I have this gut feeling that it's not her." Paige paused looking at their hands, "This isn't Alison's style, I would know."

"Okay."

"Okay?"

"I'll go talk to her and give her a chance to really explain for real." Emily leaned back, separating her hands to pull down the covers next to her. "Come to bed?"

"I thought you'd never ask." Paige smiled and stood to strip. Once she had Emily cuddled against her, their limbs intertwined so much it was hard to tell where one started and the other ended.
