Finally left alone in his room, Sesshomaru quietly set his computer down on his desk and opened it up. While it was turning on, he gingerly ran a hand over his right cheek. It still stung, though he supposed that was to be expected. Really, he just counted himself lucky that his cheek was the only part of him that had gotten hurt. But then again... the whole weekend still lay ahead of him, and there was no telling what else could happen in that time. Biting back a sigh, he looked back at his computer. The time onscreen read 10:00 p.m. Somehow, he doubted she was still awake. But, then again, she had managed to surprise him multiple times already, so who knew? Logging in to the only chat site he ever used, he waited quietly to see if the username she had given to him would appear.

mikohana logged in to Chatroom 23.

Blinking, he watched as she typed out a message.

mikohana: Hey! I was wondering when you'd get on. :)

Blinking again, he typed out a simple message.

ST: I was busy.

mikohana: Yeah, I'm not surprised. You always seem to have stuff to do. Meanwhile, I'm bored!

ST: So talk with your other friends. They will more than likely be awake, as it is the weekend.

mikohana: But I'm talking with you. :)

ST: You cannot speak with multiple people at once?

mikohana: Nope! :P

Sesshomaru found himself smirking a bit. Initially he hadn't really wanted to get on here and talk, but now he was feeling almost glad that he had done so anyway. It was almost as nice as speaking with her in person. ...Wait. Where in the world did that come from?

Slayer123 logged in to Chatroom 23.

mikohana: Oh, hey, Sango! Jeez, how'd you find me?

Slayer123: Lucky guess. ;)

mikohana: You had Miroku find me again... didn't you? -.-

Slayer123: ...No...

DangoSnacks logged in to Chatroom 23.

DangoSnacks: Indeed she did. :D

Slayer123: Miroku!

mikohana: Hahaha!

mikohana: Oh, I almost forgot! Sesshomaru, these are my friends Miroku and Sango. I think you might have heard of them before, but I don't think you guys have officially met.

ST: No, we have not.

DangoSnacks: Well, it's never to late at night to make new friends!

Slayer123: It's nice to meet you Sesshomaru, even if it's online. We'll have to meet in person on Monday.

DangoSnacks: Indeed! I cannot wait for the opportunity to do so.

mikohana: Say, you should come have lunch with us!

ST: I don't usually eat lunch.

mikohana: So? You can still come hang out! :D

Slayer123: Yeah! You totally should!

DangoSnacks! I insist!

ST: ...

ST: Fine.

As he watched the cheering erupt onscreen, Sesshomaru couldn't help but wonder what in the world he'd just gotten himself into. With a sigh, he typed out a response to the multiple messages that the others had just sent to him. This continued for sometime, and he noted with some surprise that it was already one in the morning by the time everyone logged off. He'd enjoyed himself, really, at least as much as a quiet-natured person like himself could enjoy talking for several hours. Still, it had been pleasant, even fun. He couldn't say with any amount of honesty that he hadn't enjoyed it. Kagome had good taste when it came to choosing her friends, he decided. Her friends reminded him of his own in a way. Thinking about them, however, brought about a pang inside of him. He hadn't seen them in some time, and he missed them terribly. They were practically his brothers, and being away from them was hard. However, they were being homeschooled this schoolyear, due to the traveling their families were all doing together. He and his mother had been invited, but... His mother would never let him do something like that, let alone go along with. No, homeschooled students were idiots in her opinion, and he should count himself "lucky" that she even let him talk to them. He hated it.

Sighing again, Sesshomaru stood and walked over to his small closet, sliding the right door open quietly. Kneeling down to a box on the floor, he pulled out a pair of highly expensive-looking wireless headphones with a mic attached to them. Walking back to his computer, he sat back down and put the headphones on, not bothering to turn the mic on. Without a word, he opened up a program that he had hidden on his computer and, after entering a lengthy password, he clicked on a few things and a song in the making opened up on his screen. He pressed "play" and, as the first thirty seconds played through, he began working on the rest of the song. By two a.m. that morning, Taisho had uploaded a new song.

Kagome lay on her bed with a happy smile on her face. She couldn't believe it. Not only had Sesshomaru spent not one, not two, but three hours talking with her and her friends, but now they were going to have lunch with him on Monday! She felt silly for being excited over such a little thing, but she just couldn't help herself. Sesshomaru was the most reclusive, reserved, quiet, and complex friend she had ever had the pleasure of meeting, and yet, somehow, she had convinced him to have lunch with her. It felt like a major victory, even though it probably really wasn't. Either way, she couldn't wait for Monday. And, now that she didn't have to worry about what her mother might think about the dorm situation, there was nothing left to diminish her good feelings. She took the whole thing surprisingly well, actually. Not that I expected her to be angry or anything, but I expected some concern and maybe something else like that, but since she let me explain about Sesshomaru before jumping to any conclusions... Yeah, she took it well. Smiling widely to herself again, Kagome yanked her blankets over herself and closed her eyes to get some sleep.

So, once again, I apologize for the delay. ...This is what happens when I have too many stories going on at once. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, short though it was! And trust me, there was some pretty important stuff in here! Posted 06-11-15.
