Chapter 14: That Girl

It was another day in Kuro's life as he walked the streets as Eien. The only exception was that he was not happy but rather bored.

"When's the weekend coming? I wish it was right now, so I can get my sake. Ohh, my lovely sake. Sake."

Just then, he noticed two hooded people following him. He pretended not to notice and simply kept on walking. He spotted an alley and walked towards it with them following him. As soon as he did, he turned and looked at them. "I don't mean to be rude, but why the fuck are you two following me? Unless, you wanna rape me, then I'd be happy to beat your asses."

"Tell us, where are you hiding the Devils?"

"Oh, Devils? I'm sorry, what?"

"Don't lie to us. The Church ordered us to find you, Devil."

"First of all..." He transformed into his normal outfit. "...I'm not a Devil. I'm a half-demon."

"Doesn't matter. We'll purge your evil from this world."

"Evil? Wait wait wait. Does the Vatican still think I'm gonna kill their Pope? Because, if that's the reason, then it was all a joke. Sometimes, the Church doesn't like to loosen up once in a while."

The two hooded strangers pulled out their swords and entered a battle stance.

"Oh~, Michael was right. You two are the Excalibur wielders, am I right?"

They removed their hoods and charged in battle. Although, Kuro rushed in and kicked the two into a magic circle, stunning them. He walked over and crouched down.

"Kill us."

"No. Plus, Michael could kick my ass if he hears this. I had enough of those Divine Punishment crap they give me."

"How do you know about Michael?"

"If the Church ordered you to find me, why try to kill me?"

"That was our second objective, if you tried to resist."

"Naturally, I would resist if you two tried to kill me. Now, why do you two need me?"

"We want you to tell us where Kokabiel's stronghold is? You have connections with the supernatural. You lead us, we'll take care of the rest."

"Oh, him? Some abandoned church a few blocks from Kuoh Academy. He should be there."

"And what of the Devils? Are they siding with him?"

"Ask her yourself. In fact, I'll send you two there." Kuro made a teleportation seal to transport them to Kuoh Academy. Before they were teleported, he said with a smile, "You've grown up." And they disappeared.

"Well, let's see how's her training coming along." He walked away.

"Onii-chan!"

That voice.

"Onii-chan!"

The voice of that little girl he once knew.

He stopped and found himself in a playground. It was empty. No kids. Just him and the air. He looked towards the swing set, then suddenly he saw a little girl sitting there. She had blue hair with a green fringe on her right side. She wore a pink sundress and she was...crying. He approached her.

"What's wrong?"

"Onii-chan, where did you go? I thought you wouldn't leave me. You promised that you'll never leave me alone."

"I'm right here. I'll never leave you again. I promise."

"You mean it?"

"Of course I do. I always do."

Kuro hugged the little girl, and she hugged back. She asked, "Will you protect me?"

"I'll protect you from anything that will try to hurt you."

"Thank you.", she said, showing a sinister grin. "O-nii-chan."
