Author's Note: Ok, so obviously I am the worst at keeping promises. There is no doubt about that, and I have come to embrace it. However, I still feel horrible that it takes me such a long time to update this story. At first, I was just procrastinating because I wasn't sure what direction to take the story in, but then it just accelerated into a full-blown failure. But well you know, but anyways, here is the awaited next chapter. I hope you like it. REVIEW, REVIEW, REVIEW!
Disclaimer: As much as I would love to, I do not own the Mortal Instruments series. It all belongs to Cassandra Clare.
JPOV
"Oh god Jace, Yes. A thousand times, yes."
My beautiful girlfriend looked up at me with happy tears falling from those green eyes that I love so much.
Woah, woah, woah. Did she just say… yes?
Her words keep cycling through my head on a continuous loop.
"Yes. A thousand times, yes."
How in hell did I ever get the most amazing girl ever to walk the face of the Earth to actually say yes to marry me? How am I so lucky?
I slam my lips to hers, silencing her tears.
"Jace,… ohmygosh…" She giggled excitedly. "Did we really just get engaged?" Her beautiful smile shone back at me.
"Yeah…" I laugh with her, unable to hide my smile. "Yeah we just did."
I shake my head in astonishment as I look down at her and hold her tightly in my arms. "How did I get so lucky to have you?"
She smiled a knowing smile and replied, "Well you didn't just get me… you had to work for it." She smiled sexily at me and started to back up while still watching me. "Come prove to me that you deserve me."
Holy shit. She started to slowly pull down the straps of her thin cotton shirt, then preceded to pull off the shirt entirely, staring back at me in only a black lace bra.
"Well don't just stand there." She said silkily.
And boy did I listen.
I picked up the love of my life kissing her greedily.
I ripped off my shirt and pants after placing her gently on our bed. Careful not to touch her wounds from the accident, I took off the remainder of her clothes.
I will never get use to how incredibly beautiful she is. I trace my hands over her naked body, receiving a low moan from Clary.
I look down at the pure beauty before me and smile.
"I love you Clarissa Morgestern."
She kissed me and replied, "You make me the happiest, truest version of myself. I love you more than you will ever know."
And with that we buried ourselves in each other, getting lost in our love.
After we had finished, we clasped on each other in exhaustion.
I held Clary in my arms, gently stroking her hair, until she fell into a peaceful sleep.
Once I knew she couldn't hear me, I spoke quietly to her, promising everything I could.
I whispered, "Clary, I will love you until my last breath in this world and the next." I slowly moved a strand of her hair out of her face.
"I wasn't complete before I met you, but now I feel whole. You are, always have been, and always will be the only person that I am destined to love. We are eternal, and I cannot wait to see you walk down that aisle in your white dress, because in that moment our incredible life together will begin. I can't promise that we won't ever have problems or arguments, but I do promise that I will love you through it all. I will never walk away, because you are my life and I would be walking away from the best life that I could have ever asked for. Clary my darling, I love you… and I always will." I kissed her head softly, and pulled her in close to me, before letting sleep take over.
CPOV
I woke up early to Jace's light snoring. And in those first moments I had forgotten what happened last night, until I felt the cold metal band around my finger.
I slowly pulled my left hand up to my face so I could make sure that it was there… that it was actually true.
Yup. It's still there. The three-karat diamond ring, that just happened to be glittering in the morning sunlight. It is the ultimate symbol of his love for me, and my love for him.
My dreams come true if you want to put it that way.
I blushed a deep pink, unable to hold back my happiness.
I got out of the bed as gently and slowly as I could, trying not to wake up Jace.
I stepped out of the room, walking on my toes until I reached the living room.
You know that moment when you are just perfectly happy, and it takes everything you've got to keep from dancing? Well, I was definitely past that point. I started to jump around the room, spinning and dancing out of pure happiness.
Somewhere in this time period where I was oblivious to everything around me, Isabelle came home from her night out.
"Clary, what the hell are you doing?" She stood at the entrance to the living room with a seriously confused look on her face.
"AHHH" I screamed as I spun around too quickly trying to face Izzy but since I'm the special person I am, I tripped over my own feet and fell flat on my face.
Thanks Iz.
"Clary! Holy crap, are you trying to kill yourself? You realize you just barely made it out alive from that hospital right?" She lectured me as she ran over to help me get back up.
But as I stood back up, I couldn't say anything but smile.
Izzy looked at me confused for another moment, before understanding and excitement flashed across her face.
"Clary…" She said slowly, "What happened last night?"
With that my smile grew larger. I quickly raised my left hand and showed her my ring.
"FINALLY!" Isabelle screamed. "You have no idea how long I have been waiting for this! Congratu-freaking-lations!" She squeezed me in a ginormous bear hug.
"Thanks Izzy. I'm still in shock I think, he completely surprised me." I said happily. "Wait hang on a sec, what do you mean finally? Iz, Jace and I have only been going out for a few months. Other people would think that this engagement, woah that's weird to say, is kinda soon. I mean I know its not, but other people, aka my father might think that."
Isabelle laughed lightly and replied, "Clary, that boy knew he was going to marry you since he saw you walk across the room at our New Year's Eve party. It was completely obvious to everyone except you." She smiled before continuing, "And me, knowing both you and Jace knew that you two have always been a permanent situation from the beginning. It was only a question of when." She finished as she played with one of my red curls.
I stared blankly back at her with my mouth hanging so far open that the world could see my tonsils.
Isabelle laughed even louder shaking her head at me.
"Jesus Clary, you really had no idea before he proposed did you?"
In shock, I managed to squeak out, "I-I-I thought that it was just me… I mean I knew he loved me and everything… but I-I thought that was later… like a lot later after we started going out… I can't believe…"
Izzy smiled at me again and said, "You can't believe that he felt the same thing you did at that party?"
"I-uhh, umm…" What?
Izzy hugged me and replied, "Congratulations C. You are going to be the most beautiful bride to ever have walked down the aisle. Just as long as I get to plan your bachelorette party."
Oh here we go. I laughed and said, "Thanks Iz. Just nothing exreme ok?"
Isabelle sent me one of her devilish smiles as she walked down the hallway to her bedroom and finished, "I make no promises to that request."
Fantastic. Although I was still worried about what Izzy was going to do, I walked back into my bedroom, and crawled back into the bed. Isabelle can wait for another day. Today all I want to do is hug the love of my life.
"Good morning beautiful." I heard as I was getting back in the bed.
I looked over to see Jace smiling sleepily back at me, only half awake.
"Good morning fiancée." I replied as I leaned down to place a gentle kiss on his lips.
I could feel his lips form a smile around mine, as I slowly finished the kiss.
"Clary, I was thinking… about the wedding,"
"Yeah? What is it?"
"I don't want to make this one of those engagements that take three years for the couple to actually get married, I just want to get on with the rest of our lives already." He said a little shyly.
"Clary, I want to get married soon like tomorrow, soon."
WAIT ON A SECOND. TOMORROW?
"Uhh, um, tomorrow is kinda close isn't it?"
He kept his serious look on his face for as long as he could before her burst out laughing. "Oh my god, the look on your face is priceless!"
"By the angel JONATHAN WAYLAND!"
"Ow!" He replied from the pain I'm sure he's feeling from the place where I hit him. "Clary I was kidding!" He said laughing.
I breathed a sigh of relief, relaxing back against the headboard of the bed. "Jace… I do want to get married soon, just not tomorrow." I said as I started to laugh with him.
He looked up at me and replied, "Me too, I wasn't joking about that part. How's this coming New Year's? It seems to be the main date that has the most meaning for us obviously, I mean it would make sense…"
My response was instant. "It's perfect."
As he looked into my eyes, his smile became even brighter. "Well alright then. I guess we have picked the date for our wedding."
Well, here we go. Full speed ahead.
