The next day came slowly, but surely enough I began to wake up. I had woken up only seconds before my alarm clock started blaring and buzzing. I reached over and hit the reset button and it stopped. I just mumbled a bit under my breath and looked in front of me to see Itt. Seeing her sleeping there cradled in my arms made me smile and I knew that it was going to be a good day. Everything that happened last night was...confusing, but amazingly wonderful. Itt started mumbling something in her sleep before she slowly woke up and let out an adorable yawn and rubbed her eyes. She looked up at me and smiled. She leaned in and gave me a quick kiss on the lips and placed her hand on my cheek.
"Good morning darling..." She said.
"Good morning..." I said. "Itt... What was all that last night... With the glowing, and what were you saying, you were speaking some other language."
"I was simply reciting the proper ritual text for our union." She said. "It was then that we became one...remember?" I do remember feeling like we had joined some way on a sort of physical and spiritual level, but it have no idea what was going on, all I know is that I love Itt, and I want to be with her.
"Well whatever it was I don't mind...I still love you." I said holding her close.
"And I love you too darling." She said.
"Hey... You managed to stop calling me master now." I said.
"That's because you're no longer my master..." She said.
"Huh?"
"You're my husband now!" She exclaimed.
"HUH!?"
"The ceremony, you gave me your vow of love, and promised to be with me, we kissed, and our souls were bound together with the ties of fate." She said. "Then... We... Consummated to marriage." She said turning flush red.
"I... Itt..." I said.
"Is that a problem?" She asked looking at me like if I said no she would break.
"N...no... Of course not, I'm happy, and you're happy, and we can be happy together. I don't see how that could be a problem." I said.
"I'm so glad." She said smiling brightly and holding me tight. "So what is it you want to do today?" She asked.
"I don't know... I've still got work." I said. "And there are still bills out there that have to be done...but we could take the day off... Call in sick." I said smiling.
"I think we should go to work... A normal day with just each other... That sounds wonderful." She said. "Just the two of us having fun and adventure."
"If that's what you want then sure..." I said letting out a yawn right after. "We'd better get up then." I said. Itt smiled and sat up in the bed and stretched her arms. I did the same and got out of the bed. I walked over to my dresser and started getting dressed for today. It wasn't until then that I noticed my left arm was still covered in those markings like a tattoo. I don't really care though, it's like a symbol of marriage or something and I kinda like it. I looked back at Itt and seeing me change reminded her that she needs to change too. She snapped her fingers and was covered in her spider silk wrappings again. I put on boxers, jeans and a red shirt with black lettering for the company that made it.
"I'll go start breakfast darling..." She said waking out of the bedroom and smiling.
"Alright... I'll be out in a second." I said just grabbing my wallet and keys and stuffing them in my pocket. I then walked out into the living room and turned on the TV to check the news. Then there was a sudden knock at the door.
"I'll get it." Said Itt as I sat down. She walked over to the door and opened it up only to look shocked and surprised at whoever was behind it. Then she smiled and clasped her hands together. I wonder who it could be. Then I heard her say something. "Lleva Evisurn... Miska, bellis, u liara." She said in that strange language again which must be fairy language... But why is she speaking fairy language. Then I started hearing other voice saying stuff all at once but I couldn't make any of it out. I stood up from the couch to see if I could walk over and get a look of who's there but before I could Itt gestured for whoever was at the door to come in. The next thing I know is four girls walk into my apartment.
One was wearing a dress, just like a normal light yellow and orange sun dress with an orange bow in her long blonde hair. Another was wearing a tank top and jeans and had short cut black hair. Another one was wearing the same bandage wrappings around her breasts but she wore a long green skirt with a brown floral pattern. She had long red hair and a smile on her face. And the last one wore an icy blue gown with blue linen wrappings like the last one, except hers were over all over her body and she had long white hair. When I got a better look at them all I could see they all had the same blood red eyes.
"Oh... He's over here..." Itt said waking them over I to the living room. I just stood there with a bit of a strange look on my face. "This is Zack, my soul mate..." Said Itt walking over and clasping onto my arm... I was confused.
"Uhm... Itt... Who are these people?" I asked having a good idea of who in my head but not wanting to admit it to myself.
"These are my fairy friends..." Said Itt.
I knew it.
"They here to congratulate us." She said.
"How do they even know?" I asked.
"When a fairy givers herself up to a man it's a very big deal." Said the fairy wearing leather boots and short black hair.
"Let me introduce you." Said Itt. "These are my friend's miska..." She said gesturing to the fairy with blonde hair and the sun dress and bow in her hair. "Bellis..." She said pointing to the fairy with the green skirt and red hair. "Liara..." She said gesturing to the fairy with the tight jeans. Grey tang top, leather boots and short black hair. "My best friend since I was young, Evisurn..." She said gesturing to the fairy with the icy blue and white gown and the blue linen bandages that covered most of her upper body. She looked at me and smiled. Her Snow White hair hung gently behind her and reach down to her lower back.
"Itt dear... You must have just woken up... You should put some clothes on." Said miska, the blonde one.
"I'm sorry." She said as she clasped her hands together one more time and was engulfed in a flash of burning flames. I was startled to say the least but then the flames dissipated and she was wearing a long red skirt with a black flame pattern that sprouted from the bottom of the skirt. She still had the silk wrappings around her chest but those had turned black now. Her pink hair was lines with red ribbons which fell down from the top of her head and hung gently behind her head. She still wore those hand cuffs though, but the collar was off her now, but the others had collars on them. Though, I remember Itt saying I had to buy her some clothes... But, I don't really care anymore.
"So... Are the rest of you all slaves?" I asked.
"Yes, we're all slaves and fairy weapons." Said miska the one with the blonde hair and bow. "I turn into a staff..."
"I'm a set of twin daggers..." Said liara the fairy with the short black hair and tight clothing. She pointed her thumb at herself and smiled. She reminded me of a certain pony who I don't really enjoy too much, but she seems fine.
"I'm a bow..." Said bellis the nature themed girl with the red hair. She reminded me of another pony I knew who I actually enjoy.
"And I turn into a spear..." Said Evisurn, the fairy with long white hair and icy blue clothing. "We've come to congratulate you two on your happy unison and hope that you remain faithful to each other for the rest of your lives... Even if death should do you part... And if it should then. In death you should wait for the other."
"Don't worry... We will." Said Itt clinging to my arm again.
"Yeah..." I said looking down at her and smiling. "We will..."
"You two are adorable together..." Said bellis.
"Yeah yeah yeah... So when's the party?" Asked liara getting a bit anxious. "This is our only day off ever and you're going to keep us here waiting?"
"Well... We weren't planning on a party... Just a normal day." Said Itt "...I'm sorry."
"Jeeze... That's boring." Replied liara.
"I think that it's sweet how they can be happy together without celebrating it." Said Evisurn. "If a normal day is what they want then who are we to tell them not."
"So what do you do first on a normal day?" Asked miska.
"Well... Normally we have breakfast first... But. It's a late so we might have to skip that part and just head straight to work." I said checking my watch.
"Oh... I'm sorry darling." Said Itt.
"It's alright... We can get something to eat once were done working on the farm." I said.
"Oh... You work on a farm... That's so great, I love farms." Said bellis.
"This is our day off so we figured we would spend it with the two lovers..." Said liara.
"W-what does that mean?" I asked.
"It means that were gonna chill with you for today." Said liara lightly punching my shoulder. "C'mon... Let's get the day started already."
"Darling, we shouldn't be late for work." Said Itt. I just let out a deep sigh and smiled.
"Alright... Let's go." I said as I made my way past the others and walked to the front door. I unlocked it and we made our way out of the house. I closed the door and locked it back up and me and Itt started making our way through town with her friends close by. They stayed together and kept talking about how great their masters were and how nice they are and started talking about how their other friends' masters aren't as kind as theirs. "So how come there are only four of you if this is supposed to be such a big deal?" I asked.
"Were the only ones who's masters are nice enough to let us have the day off..." Said bellis.
"Not my master." Said miska. "I had to beg him last night for the day off... He said he'd allow it but that I have to make up for it tomorrow... Now I'm kinda scared to go back... But I have to." She said fidgeting with her fingers.
"Wow that sucks..." Said liara. "Not being able to choose a master sucks... My master is fat and lazy, a weapon like me isn't even suited for somebody like him, he doesn't even use my weapon form, and he just has me clean and cook and uses me for sex... It's disgusting."
"My previous master gave me to a rich and wealthy family thinking I would be happy there...and I can't say that I'm not." Said bellis. "But they have me do so much work there that I get tired quickly... It's not any fun, and the days are so boring and tedious.
"My master is an aspiring adventurer... Though he likes to boss me are around all the time and punishes me whenever I slip up in the slightest." Said Evisurn. "He either beats me and scolds me, or forces himself on me... Either way I try not to make him upset, but he gets mad and takes it out on me even when I don't do anything." They all looked rather glum now, just hearing them say all of those things was making me unbelievably mad. I could feel a burning hatred for humanity stirring in my stomach and I felt like punching somebody right in their stupid face.
"But did you hear about poor Aluris...?" Asked liara.
"Yes... I heard that her master keeps her locked up as a sex slave." Added bellis.
"I heard that he whips her and forces himself on her pretty much energy day, I heard that he's a sadist and makes her scream in pain every day." Said liara.
"Oh... The poor thing, I feel so bad for her." Said miska. "And she's so young too... Only seventeen..." Hearing all of that made me unbelievably mad.
"That's bullshit!" I said stopping in my tracks and the others stopped too.
"Darling... What's wrong?" Asked Itt.
"Everything... Fucking... Why?" I asked looking back at all of them. "Why do you put up with all of this?" I asked. "Just hearing these things makes me so angry... Why don't you just leave... You're all so much better than whatever assholes you serve... Why not just leave... What's stopping you?"
"It's these collars..." Said liara grabbing hers. They all had a sullen look in their eyes now. "It's a powerful magic that not many people understand... All we know is that we are forced to have masters... If not... Well, then there's no point in living."
"It just...GRAH!... It makes me so angry." I said.
"Darling... Don't worry about it... There's nothing you can do... I know, it makes me angry now, but I've learned to accept these things and to just hope for the best." Said Itt. "We should be going now..." She said. I just let out a sigh and followed her and we went to applejacks farm. I was still a bit angry along the way it they stopped talking about that kind of stuff and by the time we got there I had almost forgotten about it. We walked up to applejacks house and she was just walking out of the doorway smiling to see me.
"Howdy za-god damnit..."she said as her face instantly changed expressions.
"What?" I asked.
"Isn't one busty girl enough for you... Now you've got four more?" Said applejack.
"Oh... Those are... Uh... Just some of Itt's friends." I said.
"Friends... So... They're fairy weapons too?" She asked looking at them and they all nodded. "Well... They certainly look it." She said. "But why are they here?"
"Were here to celebrate their union." Said miska.
"Union?" Said applejack.
"Teehee... We became soul mates last night... Isn't that right darling." Said it throwing herself at me and wrapping her arms around me and smiling." This just reminded me that I'm going to have to break this news to everybody now... Great.
"Soul mates? Darling!?...WHAT!?" Said applejack confused.
"It's a fairy ritual of unison that ties a fairy to her soul mate... And it can only be done between two people that love each other more than anything in the world... It happens rarely." Explained miska.
"Basically what she's saying is that Itt and Zack were a match made in heaven and now they've joined souls in holy matrimony." Said liara.
"And they sealed they've given up their virginity as a sacrifice for eternal love and happiness." Said bellis.
"I...ah...I... Uh...but..." Said applejack stuttering.
"Applejack...?" Asked Itt.
"So the both of y'all confessed your love for each other, then y'all had sex and now you're married?" She said in disbelief.
"I barely understand it myself..." I said. "But I don't care... I love Itt, and I'm happy."
"Well I'm... Happy for y'all... But a little warning woulda been nice... Maybe some planning... By the sounds of it, you two just got married overnight." She said.
"We did..." Said Itt. "It was the marienien ritual... But we still have to actually be wed."
"So... You aren't married yet..." Said applejack.
"No... Not yet." Said Itt. "It'll be in three days... Under the full moon, a fairy wedding is always under the light of a full moon because it strengthens the souls of fairies and it's also ancient tradition."
"Kinda wish I was told about all of this." I said.
"Oh... I was going to tell you... But... I got excited and forgot..." She said nervously twiddling her fingers. "I'm sorry."
"It's alright... A wedding under a full moon sounds wonderful." I said. "But I never really thought I'd be getting married."
"Zack... Y'all seem a bit... Different." Said applejack.
"I know... I can't explain it myself... I just... Feel happy like all the time now, from when I woke up this morning and now. I just... Don't care about anything else but being with Itt..." I said. "Understand that I've been alone all my life... And now I'm getting married... Do you see what I mean?"
"Yah... I do, and I'm glad for the two of you..." She said smiling at us both. "Why don't you two take time off from work to work out the wedding... Prepare yourselves." Said applejack. "Oh... This is kinda exciting... If you're going to have a wedding you're going to need drinks, and food... I'll whip up some apples udder and some mean apple cobbler." She said.
"Thanks applejack... That's very kind of you." I said.
"We should invite your other friends..." Said Itt excitedly.
"Your right... We should go." I said.
"I'm sure twilight will be excited." Said applejack. So we excited left applejacks place and started to head over to twilights place. We made our way through ponyville excitedly and it wasn't much longer before we reached the library twilight lives at. On the way here me and the others girls talked about what we would do for the wedding, and Itt said that she already had a dress in mind. All I needed to do was get a tux. I don't plan on it being really big, and Itt said for a fairy wedding the only thing we would need to do is confess our love to each other, we don't need a sermon. It sounded like a simple but beautiful wedding and I was excited. Those thoughts aside it was time for us to confront twilight. We knocked on her door and waited for her to open it. Naturally spike opened it for us and glared at me. He still had a bit of a chip on his shoulder towards me, we never really got along.
"What?" He asked looking at me. "If you're here to see twilight come on in." He said,
"Thanks..." I said walking in with Itt and her friends following me. We all walked in and Itt closed the door behind us.
"Twilight... It's Zack, and he brought company." Said spike yelling up the stairs. There was silence then the thundering of hooves and twilight rushed down the stairs excitedly with a smile on her face. She seemed happy to see me but her expression changed to a look of confusion when she saw Itt's friends behind us.
"Uh... Hi...Zack." She said. "Who...uh, who are your friends there?" She asked.
"Those are Itt's friends..." I said. "I've actually got something that I want to tell you." I said thinking of an easy way to approach the situation.
"Me and Zack are getting married!" Blurted out Itt completely ruining that idea. That one sentence was enough to through the whole room into an awkward state of uncomfortable silence. Twilight just stared at me with a strange look on his face and spike looked like he had just seen a ghost or something.
"I... I don't... I don't even." Said twilight stammering.
"I know it's hard to take in... And probably confusing." I said.
"Love between a fairy and a human is usually a very fast thing." Said miska.
"Once the couple confess their love for each other they bind their souls together in a sacred ceremony. This causes them to long for each other constantly and it gets worse and worse every passing hour." Said bellis "it's like an addiction and the only way to clear it up would be for them to get married, which is going to be under the next full moon."
"Once a man is married to a fairy he becomes a fairy guardian and swears upon his life to protect that fairy no matter the cost, and to never betray her." Said liara. "Drying the ceremony a special spell is put under both of their souls. If either one of them were to be unfaithful by sleeping with another person, or growing to hate the other, they would slowly die... Their love will literally keep them alive."
"Which doesn't happen often since they've already bound souls which requires both of them to already truly love each other... And true love is the greatest power in the world." Said Evisurn. "And just knowing love can make a man do anything he can just to be with the one person he loves the most."
"It's a powerful thing..." Said bellis. "I knew a man long ago who married a fairy and when the king of a nation took her to be his bride against the man's will, that man destroyed an entire civilization just to rescue his love." She said. "Have you heard of the tale of Rodan...?"
"But... That's just a fairy tale." Said twilight.
"How can you call something a fairy tale when there are five fairies standing in front of you right now?" Asked Evisurn.
"I... I don't know what to say." Said twilight. "So... You're getting. Married?"
"Yes." I said. "I know that it seems confusing and it still is, but I've had a lot of time to get to know Itt. She's been by my side for near a week now and I've gotten to know her very well... And I love her."
"And I love Zack..." Said Itt smiling.
"Well...I'm happy for you two." Twilight said smiling in the end. "I'm glad to see that something good has finally happened to you."
"Thanks twilight... That means a lot." I said smiling.
I ended up getting twilights approval and I invited her to the wedding. The three days passed by and it was the day of the wedding before I knew it. And much happened over the three days. There was lots of planning and rushing around involved. Applejack had prepared food and drink and twilight organized everything. The wedding was going to be held in the park, but as for the proper fairy tradition, Itt's friends took care of that. They filled me in on how it would work, and a fairy different was very different from a normal wedding.
We would be stationed side by side and we would hold hands. Then the bride's maid would cast an incantation that would bind our hands in magic silk and we would express our truest love for each other. Then we would each make a promise to each other that would be unbreakable. Breaking the promise would ultimately result in death. But once we've finished confessing our love we would kiss and become one. And the rest would be history. I thought it was a beautiful way of having a wedding.
I had been feeling weird this entire week. Every day I felt like I needed to be closer and closer to Itt and even if I was right next to her holding her in my arms it still felt like it wasn't enough, like she was still far away, and she was feeling the same way. That's what bellis talked about with the soul binding, how it's like an addiction forcing the two of us together and it wouldn't go away until we were married. I couldn't wait, I felt like I was about to explode as I started preparing myself in my room. Itt had already gone ahead with her friends and I added a couple finishing touches to my tuxedo. I straightened the bow and once I thought I was good enough I quickly rushed out of my apartment.
I left my apartment and completely forgot to lock the door behind me. I rushed through the night time streets and I could see the full glowing moon high up in the sky. I kept rushing through the streets and as I began entering I to the northern end of ponyville a sound hit my ears. It was, a piano... And singing. It was a piano and music coming from close by. I followed the sound and when I reached it, it had brought me to the park, it must be for the wedding. I walked into the park and made my way over when a shocking sight befell my eyes. I saw tons of people there... All of them fairies. I could just tell by looking at them.
They all wore gowns and were standing in rows smiling. As soon as I approached they all looked back at me and smiled. There was a clear row cut through them which lead over to Itt who wore a beautiful spider silk gown which was pure white and shone in the moonlight. I smiled and slowly started to make my way down the aisle and walked over and stood before Itt who looked up at me and smiled. Twilight stood next to me and she smiled too. Twilight and applejack had also invited rarity and fluttershy. Next Evisurn, who was the brides maid walked over and smiled. Itt raised both her hand and I grabbed onto them with my own. Evisurn placed her hands over ours and closed her eyes.
"Dayeluum vox, ninur ath..." She said as a silky strand of white light came out from under her hands and bound our hands together. She lifted up her hands and raised them into the air like she was going to try and hold up the moon. "Desìus minuum lunarìs..." She said as the moon in the sky seemed to shine even brighter and a faint beam of moonlight circled around us stronger than the rest, making for a kind of twinkling spotlight. "You can now confess your love for each other... Itt, you first."
"Zack... I know this may be sudden, and I'm sorry I couldn't ease you into this... But I've been watching you for some time and I had known all along that you were the one for me." She said. "You have a very forgiving soul in a world that has not forgiven you for something beyond your control, I know that both of us have lead tough lives... But I know that together we will make each other happy, now and until forever ends." She said.
"And what is your promise to the groom?" Asked Evisurn.
"I promise that so long as there is life in my body I will be there for you when you need me, I will be your sword and together help strike down those who would see our love end. I'll be by your side whenever you are in need I will feed you when you are hungry, nurse you when you are sick, and hold you when you feel alone. I'll be there wherever you go, giving you my hand and helping you live your life in happiness..." She said. At this point some of the fairies in the crowd began to cry from happiness.
"And Zack... You may now confess your love to Itt." Said Evisurn.
"Itt..." I said. "I know when we first met it wasn't the most romantic meeting, in fact it was rather strange, having a sword show up at my doorstep then have it be a fairy, and then to see that fairy become my wife in only a few short days, the feeling is indescribable. I've been alone my whole life, I've been shunned, and ignored, and I've made bad decisions that I regret... But you were the only one who stayed by my side, and not simply because you felt obligated too. I want to set you free, I don't want you to have to be a slave. I don't know what it is, if it's the look in your eyes, the smile you always shine, or the warmth of your body, but I can't stand to be without any of those. I'll love you now and until the end of forever." I said smiling.
"And what is it that you promise the bride?" Asked Evisurn.
"Itt... I promise that if you are my sword, then I will be your shield. I'll protect you from anything in this world. Whether it be something simple like a criminal, or even the mightiest dragon, I'll throw myself in front of you and would never see you hurt. I promise that I will be there for you when you need me. And I swear on my soul that I will destroy anyone who threatens to hurt you, I'll crawl through the ends of the earth twice to reach you. I'll protect you from those who might make you cry, and I will answer every tear that rolls down your cheek. I promise that even in sickness I will be there to keep you happy... And I promise that I will love you and will never betray you."
"The two lovers have confessed..." Said Evisurn. "With their souls cleansed and their hearts bound in everlasting love. By the power invested in me, the earth and everything that breaths life and happiness in the world. And under the audience of friends, family and the very night itself... I now pronounce you... Man and wife... You may kiss the bride." Said Evisurn.
Itt and I both leaned in and planted a deep kiss of each other's lips. We locked lips and firmly pressed against each other as the audience clapped and applauded. I felt happier now than I have ever in my whole life. We held our kiss and then pulled back and stared each other in the eyes and smiled. The white bindings around our hands faded away and I felt that addictive feeling leave my body, even though now I loved Itt even more.
"As another man is joined to a fairy, so too is a fairy guardian born." Said Evisurn. "May the world tremble at his power... And may the burning flames of love bring him power enough to destroy his enemies and keep him and his fairy happy." She said. "Well... Don't keep us in suspense... Seal the deal."
"What...?" I asked blushing.
"Remember?" Asked Itt walking over. "When a man marries a fairy he becomes a fairy guardian. An ultimate warrior capable of terrible power... That's what you've become." She said.
"But... I don't care about that." I said.
"Neither do I..." She said giggling a bit. "But it's tradition for the new warrior to exhibit a show of power."
"How do I do that?" I asked.
"Well... You're going to need my help... Here, watch." She said pulling herself close to me and hugging me tight. Suddenly her body began glowing and her glowing body became a flowing stream of light that washed over my whole body. Suddenly the light turned red and I was engulfed in a swirling vortex of fire. It didn't burn me, but I felt warm. Like Itt had held onto my entire body and wouldn't let go. And I felt something welling inside me, it was like raw strength, just inside. I felt confident, like if I tried to move a rock with my mind it would actually happen. I felt a great surge of, just... Energy, was over my body as the fire around me faded and I was finally able to get a good look at myself and holy shit I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
I stood there in a full suit of armor. Plating covered my legs and feet and my groin area which also had a red cloth in front like a loin cloth. I did t wear any armor over my torso except for a leather strap which was the hilt for my weapon. My right arm was covered in plate armor and had a large spiked shoulder plate on it. My left arm had a smaller shoulder plate and less armor. But the pattern that had been in my arm from before was glowing like fire now. And the weapon strapped to my back was a ridiculously impressive weapon. I reached back and grabbed the hilt of the giant great sword strapped to my back. I lifted it up and held it in my hand. It was easily as large as me and the blade itself was about half a foot wide and an inch thick and razor sharp. The hilt was leather padded for a good grip. The blade curved slightly in the middle but flared back out again. On my head I wore a red hood with a matching red cape which went down slightly past my knees.
I held the blade there in my hands and it was warm. Holding it made me feel like I was holding Itt in my as well, mostly because I really was. Looking into the blade it was like I could see her face looking back at me and smiling. He long pink hair, blood red eyes, and perfect smile seemed to be trapped inside this blade. I just looked at the sword and smiled while everyone around me clapped and applauded. I was feeling a lot of positive emotions now, I felt like exploding.
I looked into the blade...and just smiled...
