"Alright, so you will each pick a number, and then group." He sat down the hat with numbers and watched.
He watched as others frowned and others smiled after they all got numbers. He watched who found out who had what numbers and how they told people what to do.
He wrote them down on paper. He was practicing the theme song of Billy and Mandy on his guitar.
He waited until they were all done talking and it was silent except for him practicing.
He looked at them "Are you all done?"
"Yeah!" They all shouted proud of themselves.
He got up with his clipboard. "Good. Girl with purple hair, dude with an attitude wearing Van Halen shirt, boy with gelled hair wearing sleeveless shirt. Girl with hipster look , and the smart gay boy who knows fashion but isn't broke and Raven. All of you come up here."
They all did walking over to his desk
"Your all a group." He stood up
"What!" Everyone yelled
"What about the numbers?" Van Halen shirt asked
"I don't remember saying that once you picked the numbers you would be grouped by them.
He looked at the rest of the students "Stay in your groups or form other ones."
They scrambled and he told his first group to come to his desk. "You are all my alphas, so write your names down on paper."
As they did so, he took out a timer and set it for two minutes. He also started writing things you look for while reading. He kept an eye on everyone else as well.
Though he did turn when the timer went off, he looked at everyone as they were frozen.
"Are you done?"
"No!" The rest of the group said
"I didn't say stop." He finished writing on the board and saw his Alphas were waiting for him.
He waited once again as they were in groups. "All right, so girl with snake piercing with black dyed hair, dude with one ear bud listening to Michael Jackson, and girl who is dressed to professional for homeschooling come up here."
They all did, he wrote on a paper sloppy "Betas." He put it in front of them "Sign your names."
"Why do we have to sign we wear name tags?" Professional girl said
"Because I will barely care to look at them." He answered honestly
She looked at him mad but signed "If it makes you feel better, I will learn all of your names since, your my first and second placers." He said
"What about us!" One kid said and the others agreed with him.
He stood up "I have seen all of your records, you may know my mom and are working for her and my uncles and aunts, but it seems like you all just see school as a waste of time. Until my mother presented you an opportunity to a school that will actually care, however I need to prepare you not only academically but socially. The kids that go to that school already intern with their parents and talk about what field they are focused in at school plus know what colleges. Just the way you all look at a beggar in disgust that is how they will look at you all but them."
He pointed to the Alpha's and Beta's "They will not be looked at so much in disgust because they took a chance and have actually learned something from me. Which is why I will learn their names, which will be a pain for me, but I will do so. A name means worth, so if you can prove to me that your worthy of a name then you will do all right in that school. Otherwise, you wasting your time and life. Just work and work, not advancing in life, trust me my mother and uncles jobs won't be around forever."
He looked to the Beta's "What or who did you pick?"
"Their father." Snake Piecing girl said.
"Alright, and Alpha's got time and setting." He looked to the other groups "The rest of you better hurry up and pick something."
Each group had two or three runners screaming at their group what they should circle, while pushing others.
"As my Alphas I expect you to start of with a high grade, which means extra work." He walked away to the Beta's
"You have what it takes to be a leader, but not quite show me what you got."
He went to the other groups "Alright sheep, I took away the shepherd and the sheep dog, are you going to work or follow the dumb sheep in a river and drown?"
They looked at him weird as he walked back to his desk. "Teaching is so easy." He said to himself
They all read the first chapter. Alpha table
"So do we keep reading?" Angel asked
"Keep reading, I mean we have to finish the book anyway." Raven said
The others agreed and continued reading.
Celia parked at the rented building, it was a great idea to rent instead of buying it. She wondered how her son was doing, he hasn't taught in fifty years. Though he is out of his teenage years, he is still finding himself.
She smiled at the secretary "So hows it going?"
"Good, Ms. Celia, breakfast went great and we are going to lunch. Would you like to tell the classes that can go now?" She asked clipboard in hand
"Why not, I love to hear my own voice." Celia joked while turning it on "Hello, hello it is your unconventional principal, I would like to tell you it is lunch time. Here are the classes that can either stay here or go out for lunch. Mr. Clarke Mathews,Robert Patrick,Daniel Colbert,Eva Santiago, Maria March, Paula and Gary Bridge your classes can eat."
She heard some shouts and groans from other people. "To the other classes I shall be checking upon your progress, so at least look like your working."
She gave back the microphone saying bye and heading to classrooms. She smiled as some of her kids headed out the door.
"Don't forget to check out." She sang out
They nodded their heads and did so.
She checked the classrooms, she wasn't shocked her kids were learning , though she walked slow to her sons classroom.
She opened the door, they were all reading and writing down whatever they were supposed to find. She smiled and looked to her son, who was sleeping.
She frowned, and got the timer off his desk and put it to his ear. When it went off, he jumped outdo his chair, falling to the ground.
They all laughed, though she looked at her son with an eyebrow raised.
"Teach them school work, not how to sleep." She said mad
He wiped his eyes "They are reading mom, don't interrupt them by yelling."
She smacked him on the back of his head
