"Ma, it's not a choice." Jane desperately pleaded. "I've always been this way."

"This way? This way! Jane, just a month ago you were sleeping and about to be engaged to Charles. I had wondered what happened; now I know; you threw it all away to be a piece of hot tail for rich and famous here."

"By God, you will not speak to Maura that way! Not after all she has done for you and this family."

Anger silence surrounded them again. The stalemate was not broken, but their family was.

Part 14

The next morning came too early for Jane. With her strung out emotions and her tear-salted red eyes, she could barely think or be of much help to Maura who was packing their suit cases in an orderly manner.

They had yet to speak of yesterday's family meltdown beyond the blond whispering sweet, comforting words.

"Where did you say you were taking us again, Maur?"

The blond finished carefully folding the shirt in her hands before placing it in the suitcase with the rest of the clothes. She knew, that to be perfectly honest with Jane, she would have to make the Boston Detective understand that she was wealthy, vastly wealthy. She never made an issue of it because that actually was her life as she had lived it since she was a child. Now, however, with the introduction of Jane as her hopefully life partner, she would need to make her understand that as she has accepted Jane and her background, she must do the same for her in return. Before they were lovers it made no difference, but now that Maura was on the verge of introducing her best friend to how she was used to living fully, she just hoped that Jane would just embrace it. Maura exhaled a long sigh as she sat next to the other woman. Linking hands she focused on how best to explain where they were going.
"Jane, you and I are going to the home I have in Provincetown."

"Okay, that's cool. So, you like have a beach house or something?"

Maura could not stop the smile, just the thought of her private get away brought a lightness to her soul that was much needed after yesterdays violent altercations and harsh words.

"Yes and you are the first person other than myself and staff that will have ever stepped foot there."

Jane looked down and she followed her instinct and figured out that there was more that Maura wanted to say. Looking back up, she encourages her to just that with a slight nod and a raised brow.

"Right, the thing is Jane I know that you understand in a roundabout way that I have substantial means of support."

"I do."

"Jane I am still just Maura. I am who I truly am with you all the time. I know there are certain boundaries that I must live my life within, but with you I am truly just me."

Jane mulls this over and decides to push for the reason behind Maura's need for her to reassure Jane of who she is.

"Maur, if you have something to say just tell me. I have always known you are wealthy, so why the build up?"

Maura turns more towards Jane.

"Jane, I am trying to prepare you, because for the first time you are going to be stepping fully into my world. A world that has every luxury, maids, butlers, chefs and any and all other staff positions you could name."

"You're like multimillionaire, I get it Maura. I am not used to that sort of thing, but it's what you know. I'm sure I'll adjust and cope."

Maura shakes her head.

"No Jane, not million. My world is made up of the multibillions."

Jane looked perplexed as she wrapped her mind around the information. Maura was getting more nervous by the second when Jane gave no response physically or verbally.

"Jane, are you okay...with this, me?"

Jane continued to be silent and still. Then with a sudden intake of breath, she blurted out, "Holy shit, I'm dating a white Oprah!"

Maura put her hand over her mouth to try and stifle the laughter that erupted from her gut. Eventually she gave up and fell back on the bed with Jane and welcomed the needed release from the stress that had built up over the last thirty-six hours.

"You, my dear Jane Clementine Rizzoli, are a goof ball."

"Oh that's harsh, again with the middle name, Maur?"

Jane was only met with a devilish smile.

Both women were quiet later that day safely ensconced in the back of a town car rolling down the highway towards the airport. As per usual, Maura had locked her cars in the garage at her home. With an unknown return date she had called upon the services of her gardener to include maintenance checks on both the cars and house. It remained quiet until Jane shifted and brought the M.E.'s attention back from her mental tick list.

"Maur, do you think I am gay? Like I could like any woman?"

Maura brushed the back of her fingers fondly across Jane's cheek and gently chucked her prominent chin. It did the job of bringing a shy smile to the brunette's face. Before she could answer the driver rolled the partition glass down.

" , will it be the commercial or private terminal?"

"It will be private terminal Josh." Maura pulled out the required identification to gain entry to the private side of Logan International. "Here Josh, you will need these to get us through the gates." Josh rolled the partition all the way down and took the batch of laminated cards from the Doctor's petite hand once he came to a full stop at the gate house. Four no-nonsense military type security guards surrounded the black town car. Once all were in place only then did the guard address the driver.

"Good morning sir, may I see your proper credentials for clearance to this restricted area."

With a polite professional smile Josh handed over the cards. The guard scanned them and looked at the information hard. With widening eyes he moved to the back glass and tapped it. Maura was taken slightly aback as she rolled down the window. As the guards face comes into view Maura could see a full on grin had replaced the severe scowl on the man's face.

"You are Dr. Maura Isles correct." He said without question.

"Yes, officer, I am. How may I help you?"

"No Dr. Isles, you have already helped me. It was over ten years ago now. We were pinned down in no win sweat fest."

"Chuck?"

"The one and only Doc."

"My apologies for not recognizing you."

"It's nothing, don't worry about it Doc. I look more like a couch warrior now than a hard nose security bulldog like I use to."

Chuck laughed as he thumped his almost non-existent gut with his fist.

One of the men from the group stepped up to Chuck and braced his already rigid body in order to gain his attention.

"Yes Reeves?"

"Commander, the vehicle and passengers have been cleared."

"Outstanding work Reeves."

Reeves braced again then smartly stepped away.

"Well Doc, it's been a real pleasure seeing you again. You take care."

"Thank you Chuck, as for you also." Maura sat back in the seat only to be met with intelligent enquiring brown eyes of her lover.

"I would say hypothetically, you want to know the story of Chuck?"

No response verbally was given, just a positive nod from a dark haired co-passenger.

"I will tell you, but is it alright if I wait till we get airborne?"

"Okay, you have until then, but only if you agree to a cheese burger with the works."

Maura pondered this for a moment, given the healthy breakfast, the extra workouts both in and outside the bedroom, she found herself happily in agreement.

"Sure, anything else, Stud?"

Jane blinked in surprise, she never thought of herself as a 'stud' since Maura was usually topping her.

"You think I'm..a…stud?"

"Jane, my love, you will always be my stud. No matter if I do wear the strapon and fuck you with my eight inch cock."

Jane covered her eyes.

"Mauraaaaa the glass is down between him and us. Now he knows about our private stuff."

Unfazed, Maura spoke up to Josh.

"Josh?"

"Yes, Doctor Isles?"

"Did you hear anything we said?"

"No Madame, I do not hear anything other than instructions on where and how to get my occupants from point A to point B."

Maura turned back to Jane and gave her a satisfied smile.

Before Jane could utter a comeback, Josh stopped near their mode of transportation.

"Maura, what's that?"

"That Detective, is how we're getting to my vacation home."

"But Maura, it's a helicopter."
