Beast Boy looked down at the frozen Cyborg. His mind couldn't wrap around what was happening. He heard the crunch of Charlie underfoot, and saw Terra cautiously coming to join him. The distress on his face was too much to even try to hide. Even with how much he joked around with Cy, they were still best bros.

"Hey, Beast Boy, is he alright?" Terra asked as she timidly stood beside him. A small frown told him she was just as confused as he was.

"I-I don't know… what to do… what happened… Borgie…?" Beast Boy's sentences weren't really thoroughly forming in his mind.

Terra's brow furrowed. "Something must have happened with his robot side, right? Normal people don't just shut down…"

Snapping his fingers, things clicked into place for Beast Boy. "Yeah! That's right! The EMP, of course, duh! It must've accidentally shut Cyborg off too!" his joy soured a bit, "… But I dunno how to get him back online…"

Terra brightened up, "Well just call the other Titans! Robin, Starfire, or Raven should know what to do, right? Cyborg must've told somebody!"

Beast Boy thought for a second. "Not sure if he told anybody exactly how to do it, but Robin's really good with tech-y stuff too… he'd probably figure it out!" Beast Boy omitted the part about Raven being missing and Starfire's trip back home.

Getting his communicator out from who knows where, Beast Boy flicked it open to find… it wasn't working either. Perplexed, he hit the side of it, hoping that would somehow fix it. "Wha…?" he mumbled as he turned it from side to side. Everything looked fine…

Terra worriedly looked over his shoulder. "It's not working either? Was it the EMP?"

"Must be," Beast Boy said softly. He glanced up at the city's lights. The city's lights… were still on. Didn't Cyborg say the EMP was only supposed to affect Charlie…? Well then why did it shut off Charlie, Cyborg, and the communicators, but nothing else?

It was all too strange, too specific.

Of course. It had to be. It was so obvious. He almost face palmed with how long it took him to come to this conclusion.

"Slade…" he growled.

Raven desperately tried to get her contact with the outside world back. Eyes squeezed shut so hard, she thought they'd stay shut permanently. Nothing was working. She blocked out Rorek's extensive worrying. There was no time to explain. She had to get a hold of Robin, Beast Boy, Star, anybody!

Cyborg… who knew what he programmed that EMP to do!

Some cobbles a few yards away erupted into purple flame. Dang it! She had to keep her emotions under control, even though this was definitely the appropriate time to panic.

No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get back. She just couldn't do it.

Frustrated, she opened her eyes, and looked straight and Rorek.

"We can't physically get out, but is there a way to let our consciousness out? I need to get a message through."

Rorek's clear blue eyes sparkled.

"Beast Boy, Beast Boy!" He blinked, and turned to look at Terra. She looked scared. But so was he.

He was alone.

Starfire was away, Cyborg was checked out, Raven was missing, and he had no idea where Robin was. Though he had the feeling that, even if he did, Slade had gotten there first.

It was just him.

Beast Boy looked up at the sky despairingly, when suddenly he saw Raven shimmer into his vision like a dark, otherworldly angel.

"RAVEN?!"

Smart girl.

Slade, drummed his fingers on the cover of a certain White Book. This wasn't according to his plans, but no matter. Her ethereal form wouldn't last for very long. Besides, she didn't know anything about his plans that the changeling hadn't already figured out for himself. They were just… comparing notes.

Things were still under control, as always.

Back at his lair, he monitored the conversation quietly. They were no threat to his plans. Getting up from his chair, he stalked towards the door.

He had more… worthy business to attend to.

A/N: I told you it would be short! But here's the end of Part 1, I guess. I'm going to reply to reviews, go eat some food (cause it's like 1 here), then get started on the next chapter (which I super promise will be up today!).
