The school bell rang and students started traipsing towards their classes. Peter, Harry and Gwen were walking together, discussing the events that had occurred at Oscorp.

"He didn't say anything, he just let some guy I have never met before do all the talking. I don't know what had come over him, there was something different, but I couldn't place my finger on what it was."

"He's probably a little shaken over what has happened, I think I would be if I was witness to what happened. I would have nightmares for years," Peter replied.

They turned into the building and headed down the corridor towards their science class.

"Have you heard from him since?" Gwen asked.

"No, he hasn't returned any of my calls. I am starting to worry about him."

"I am sure he is fine," Peter said as they walked into the classroom.

He was about to continue speaking, but stopped when he noticed two people standing at the front talking to the teacher.

"Who are they?" he asked, leaning towards Harry and Gwen as he did so.

"I don't know, but they don't look much older than us," Gwen replied.

They went and took their seats and waited for the lesson to begin.

"Good morning class," the teacher greeted them. "Today we have two special guests who are both very talented young scientists and they are here to talk to you about possible employment benefits to you. I'll hand over to them."

The two guests stepped forward.

"Hello class," Fitz greeted the students in front of them nervously. "My name is Fitz and this is Simmons," he waved towards her and she gave a smile to the class, "and we are here today to talk to you about careers in science beyond school. Now we both left school and entered into a government run programme, aimed at getting more young people into science and also doing key research into developing new systems and technologies for the country."

Simmons stepped forward to continue.

"Also you might see science as boring and the subject of stuffy old professors, but look at me and Fitz and you can see that it is also for the younger generations too. Also boys, being a little geeky is really in fashion these days, the girls love it," Simmons half whispered the last part.

This last comment suddenly made the boys perk up and pay attention. They went on for about ten more minutes explaining the benefit of science and studying it. Afterwards there was a short Q&A and then they were finished.

"Thank you very much, we hope you found that as informative as we did," Simmons said.

"I think we did," the teacher replied. "I believe there was one student you also wanted to speak to?"

"Ah yes," Fitz said, pulling a piece of paper from out of his pocket. "Could we please see a Mr Peter Parker please?"

Peter raised his hand cautiously, wondering what they wanted.

"Ah there you are Mr Parker," the teacher said spotting his hand. "Where and when would you like to see him?"

"Could we come to your house after school please, because we have an exciting project to discuss with you in private?"

There was some hesitation before Peter replied. He thought carefully about what defences they have at the house in case they were more than they were putting across.

"Yeah sure," he replied.

"Excellent!" the teacher said. "Right I am sure you have a lot to discuss, so it is near the end of the lesson, so class dismissed early."

Peter walked over to Fitz and Simmons and handed them a small piece of paper with the address on.

"See you later!" Simmons said giving him a sweet smile.

Peter walked off to catch up with Harry and Gwen. Fitz and Simmons pulled a small pen out of a bag they had brought. This was no ordinary pen, but a powerful radio transmitter in disguise.

"Sir we have a meeting with him later and we will report in the result afterwards," Fitz said into it.

"Good work you two, speak to you later. Coulson out," came the reply.

"You know I really don't like what we are doing," Simmons said, "it feels as though we are acting like H.Y.D.R.A doing this."

"I know, but he could really help us and unlike them, we are actually trying to save people and not kill them."

"I suppose. Come on let's go and get ready for the meeting."

The two scientists walked out of the classroom and went on their way.

Across the campus, Peter, Harry and Gwen were talking again about what these two individuals wanted.

"Is it wise taking them to the house?" Gwen asked.

"There are plenty of defences there and we can stop people from entering if we have to," Harry reassured her.

"It could just be quite innocent," Peter suggested.

"It could, but we don't want to take any chances," replied Harry.

So after school, when Stephens had dropped them back off at the house (Peter was loving every moment of being chauffeured around), they made ready for Peter's visitors. Harry placed various bugs and devices around the downstairs area, that would allow him to monitor any incoming transmissions they could be receiving and any secret devices they were in possession of. Gwen laid out a series of tools that were disguised as ordinary objects, so that should a fight occur, they were at hand to use for defence. Peter meanwhile, readied some refreshment just incase they were two very ordinary scientists coming for a chat.

Outside on the street there was parked a large blacked out Range Rover, inside which sat Fitz, Simmons, May and Coulson. They were scanning the building and the street around for any unusual activity.

"I'm not getting any unusual signatures," Fitz said as he scanned the house for strange electrical pulses. "Everything seems normal."

"I very much doubt a superhero would live as a civilian, risking being uncovered every time he went out and not have some sort of security protecting the place he lives, especially when he is sharing with someone else. Do we have any intel on his housemate?"

"His name is Harry Osborn, son of Norman Osborn CEO of Oscorp," Simmons said.

"Well, a hero with connections."

"Well if you think about it sir, there are other heroes with connections, just think about Iron Man and Tony Stark. They are one in the same person. You can't get more connected than that," Simmons said.

"I know, but for a teenager, that is a really good position to be in. I wonder if either Osborn knows about Mr Parker's abilities."

"Are you ready?" May asked.

Fitz checked the bag he was carrying and Simmons looked at the files she was holding.

"Ready," they both chimed together.

They exited the vehicle and made their way over to the house, where Fitz proceeded to knock on the door. A moment later it opened revealing Peter on the other side.

"Hi, how are you doing?" Simmons asked. "Can we come on?"

"Yeah great thanks," Peter replied as he moved over to let the pair in. "Just head to the left, we are in the living room."

"We?" Fitx asked.

"Yeah, my housemate and his girlfriend are here."

"Oh, we were hoping to talk to you alone," Simmons said as she and Fitz walked into the living room, leaving Peter to shut the door and follow them.

"Whatever you want to say to me, you can say in front of them. We don't have secrets in this house," Peter said leaning against the door frame watching the two Brits as they glanced around the room and nervously took a seat each.

"Ok," Fitz began.

"We better be quick and blunt about it then," Simmons said. "We are not from the government. We have never worked for them."

"Who do you work for?" Gwen asked.

"You may not have heard of them and if you have, any opinions you have of them may be completely wrong because of false information that has been put out there," Fitz said.

"Who do you work for?" Harry demanded.

"S.H.I.E.L.D," they both said.

"You mean the corrupt, exposed and traitors S.H.I.E.L.D?" Harry asked, "or a different organisation?"

"It is true that certain images have been painted about us, but we can assure you they are untrue. A group called H.Y.D.R.A infiltrated us and began to overtake S.H.I.E.L.D. Most of what you may have heard is wrong," Fitz said.

"You'll have to try and convince us better than that," Peter said.

"Here, we have a file on you," Simmons said, reaching into her bag and pulled out the brown file.

"And that is supposed to make me feel better? Where did you get this stuff?"

"Before we collapsed, we made sure that any one who appeared exhibiting new abilities, was checked out to make sure we could trust them and not have to detain them."

"What do you want with me? Are you here to arrest me and throw me into a deep dark cell?"

"No!" Simmons cried. "We are here on the request of former S.H.I.E.L.D director Nick Fury. He asked us to ask you if you'd be able to help us monitor the criminal activity in New York and alert us if there are any serious issues that we can come and deal with."

"You want me to work for you?" Peter asked sceptically.

"In a way yes, but it is on your terms. We just want some eyes in New York as our own resources are stretched thin. You wouldn't have to do anything different to what you already are, but just report into us every now and then so we can keep up to date with our records," Fitz explained.

Peter thought for a moment before he spoke.

"You must understand that me, Harry and Gwen have a system in place that is working and we would rather be left alone to get on with what we do. Don't you have the Avengers to do stuff for you?"

"We do, but they are so well known, both as their costumed selves but also their civilian sides are known. With you, you can roam around as you normal self and gather information that no one would be expecting you to."

"We can offer you some gadgets to help you in this," Fitz added.

"No we're fine thanks," Harry said. "We have already been hooked up."

"By who?" Fitz asked.

"Tony Stark."

"You mean Tony Stark has known about you all the time?" Simmons inquired.

"He's only known for a short amount of time, but yeah he beat you lot."

"Are you sure you won't help us?" Fitz asked.

"I'll have to think about it some more. You have bombarded me with information and I need time to process it and decide whether it is something I want to do."

"Ok, we will inform our boss," Simmons said standing up. "You must understand that although you haven't joined us yet, this had been a real pleasure to meet you in person, a real pleasure."

"Same for me mate," Fitz said standing as well and offering out his hand to Peter, who took it and they both shook.

The two Brits headed out of the living room and to the front door. Peter was there to open it for them.

"I hope this isn't the last we shall see of you. It will be fantastic to have you on the team," Simmons gushed.

They said goodbye and left the three teens on their own in the house and headed back over to the car where Coulson and May were waiting. They got inside and shut the doors.

"Well that wasn't a total success," Coulson began, "but you certainly planted a seed in his head."

"Do you really think he will work for us?" Fitz asked.

"He will work it out soon. He needs us just as much as we need him."

Coulson gave May the signal and they drove off into the city and away from Peter Parker.

Back in the house, the three teens watch on the CCTV as the car moved away.

"So are you going to work for them?" Harry asked.

"I don't know," Peter replied. "We already are working well here, why introduce a group of people I don't know and the world distrusts?"

"Stark has worked with them in the past," Gwen added.

"I know, but was he working with the good side or the bad side? No, I won't decide now, I will think about it some more."

"Its your call," Harry said.

"Right I am going on patrol," Peter announced. I'll be back for tea if anything major doesn't come up."

With that the team separated off, each one getting on with something different as they each considered the proposal the two S.H.I.E.L.D agents had presented to them.

I can't believe it, another chapter! I seem to be on fire with these recently. I hope you enjoyed this one. Don't forget to review as your comments can and do help me adapt my writing! Hopefully another chapter will be out tomorrow.
