Dragos' POV. He talked me into doing his POV
She was such a delicate looking girl. That was the first thought he had when he saw her. Such a petite frame, as though you could snap her in two with a hug, skin pale even by human standards, and so tiny compared to everything around her.
All but the eyes.
Dragos had caught just glimpses of the sky in the many years of his lifespan. It was so brief, but the mere presence of the sun sent him burning, but just to see that blue was worth the short pain.
Her eyes reminded him of the day, but not just because of their color, but the fury and passion within them. Dragos could tell from the start there was something more to this girl than most realized. There was an anger there, a passion, and above all pride.
Her eyes had the beauty of the sky and the passion of the sun which could kill him. Yes, there was death and beauty in her eyes, an enthralling mixture.
The without the burning Sun there would be no blue sky.
There could be no life without death.
She gave him life.
That will of hers the pride, the passion, the wrath, the kindness, and the love drew him to her like the blue sky did.
Something told him that he should do away with her before she burned him.
But he loved the feeling of her burning him.
He loved the sun that rested inside this frail human.
Was it worth it to see the blue sky?
Yes, it was more than worth it.
"Dragos, what are you getting out of this?" Came the voice of Dawn.
He turned to face her blue eyes and gazed deeply into them, as though he could catch the flakes of gold from the sun within her.
"What am I getting out of this?" He repeated the question to her, as though he is asking her for the answer.
"What do you want out of these games? Why are doing doing them? I am getting sick of this."
Dragos pauses for a moment...as he searched for an answer.
"What I want out of this is...you." That was the answer.
The simple answer to all of that was her.
"Why me? Do you want me to be your consort?" She asked the her question with dark sarcasm.
"Yes." Came his reply, more sincere than he had been in years. Dawn froze and her blue eyes shown the confusion and fury of the sun.
"And why should I? I want nothing to do with Vampires." She turned her head, as she bit her lip. But the mere act of her anger sent a thrill through him. Just a peak of the sun.
It wasn't just her rebelliousness that caught his eye. Many humans were rebellious in the past. It was the Sun within the beauty that lured him.
"Because...I love you."
Dawn black away.
"Why should I believe that?" Her voice was creaking a bit.
"You know I am not lying." He brushed a black strain of hair away from his face.
"I love your anger, your pride, the passion within you. The constant fluxes of kindness and selfishness within you. You are like the sun that has been hidden from my kind since our creation. I love the contractions, the mistakes, and the triumphs."
He stepped toward her and laid a hand on her golden curls.
"I love that you won't give up. I love the fact you fight with what little you have. I love the fact you will defend the people you love against foes much stronger than you."
He paused for a moment to take in the look on her face. It was a bit of confusion, shock, and perhaps just a bit of pride.
"I represent the world you hate, but I love you. You want to destroy the world and in conjunction also myself."
"You are mad." She accused.
"Perhaps, I am mad. You want to destroy my world and burn it to the ground with the wrath of a thousand suns. But I know this."
"I would rather be mad and love you than be sane and not have you."
She stood in shock. Dragos took this opportunity to lean down and kiss her hand, but slip something on it
A silver ring with a red ruby.
"This is the ring I am suppose to give my consort. But I want you to have it even if you don't love me back. I will have another copy made, but I want the woman I truly love to have the real thing.
He took her hand and kissed it again.
She broke out of her spell at that, as she pushed him away. He wondered if she would take the ring off and throw it at his feet. But instead she turned around and ran out of his study.
He simply smiled.
"No matter what she chooses at least knows the only certain thing about me.
Hey, everybody. I am sorry for the short chapter again, but I feel like I needed to get this out.
I started a job recently and an idiot tried to get me fired for some stupid reason that I won't give into that. And I have been having health issues that I won't get into. And I've been having serious writer's block
Thank you all for sticking with this! And I hope I can write more soon and longer chapters
