Their lips met in a gentle kiss and she gave a small gasp of surprise. But didn't pull away from him. Koga took this as a good sign and got a bit closer to her, deepening the kiss slowly. His lips parted and he licked at her lower lip to ask for entrance, which she granted him. His tongue moved out and began to twist with hers, his fingers getting tangled into the long, dark locks of her hair.
He opened his eyes slightly to look at Hinata, to see if she was enjoying this kiss or not. Her eyes were closed and her cheeks an unnaturally bright shade of red. Her hands had moved up to rest against his chest. But still…she had not pushed him away or made a move to break the kiss. Another small sound escaped her as Koga pulled away to bite gently at her lower lip before pulling away completely.
Hinata looked at him with wide eyes, her hands moving away from his chest so she could clasp them together in front of herself.
Had he done something wrong? Did she really not like it after all?
"I…I want you to be mine, Hinata. I want you as my mate." He declared in a soft voice, feeling his tail twitch nervously as he waited for her response.
At first she just looked at him, her entire face burning from her blush but then she lowered her eyes to look at the couch, beginning to fidget with her hands.
"Koga, I don't…You're really nice but we aren't even from the same time. Aren't you going to have to go back? I wouldn't be able to go with you. I need to stay here so that I can look after my clan once my father dies and passes the responsibility onto me. There's no way that I could leave them behind." She said in a quiet voice, her eyes still lowered to look at the couch in front of her.
His heart started to break at her words and he bit his lower lip to stop the emotions from swallowing him up. "There isn't some way for you to pass the responsibility to someone else? Another sibling?" That's how these things worked, right? The rulers were all part of the same family and if the current person in position to be the new leader died or is discovered to be wrong for the position, their sibling would take over for them. They'd become the new heir.
"I do have a younger sister and I just recently got the title of the Heir back from her. For the longest time, my father thought I was too weak to lead the clan when it came time and so focused all of his attention on Hanabi, my sister. He gave up on me and decided she would be the leader, instead of me…the eldest. But then I proved to him that I was capable of being the Heir and leader to the Hyuga clan. I can't just throw that away." She finally raised those beautiful lavender eyes to look at me and I saw a stubborn glint in her eyes. She wasn't going to budge on this.
Not easily, at least.
"But, Hinata…I feel this pull towards you. You have to be my mate. There's no one else out there. I've never felt this way about another female." Not even Kagome. The attraction he'd felt towards her had never been this strong. "It's like…my soul recognizes you. It connects to you. And it's pulling me closer to you…or trying to, anyway. And I just know that if I go back without you…I won't be able to lead my people. You'll haunt my thoughts. I'll see you in my dreams. Those beautiful eyes of yours will be everywhere I look. Hinata, please…" Koga reached out and gently grabbed her hands, looking at her with sincerity in his eyes. Hoping that she could understand the emotion he was showing her in them.
"Please…be mine and come back with me. I won't be able to function without you."
Hinata looked at him, conflicting emotions showing in here eyes.
