Rule #14

Do not hack my devices

Shepard grasped Saren's Omni-tool with shaking ecstatic hands. She pulled up the binary behind the messages Saren got and finally noticed the silk threads that were being plucked for the spider to attack. "This is it Saren!" She then rolled off of him and sat up excitedly. Almost stumbling, she ran out of the room quickly leaving Saren to just watch her in confusion.

He sat up in his bed still wrapped in confusion, and embarrassment. As he thought about where his face had just been his body grew warmer and warmer. Which he felt, was odd since Turian women didn't have fleshy breasts, so there really weren't any reasons for him react like this. Yet, the surprising softness, and the smell of her skin put his body in a foggy lull. Something he wasn't sure he enjoyed all that much.

Shepard then came running back in, with both pf their Omni-tools, and an old-fashioned computer tablet that she had refurbished and fixed into an amazing programming device that she had since school. It had been her last year in her Infiltration training when she had the epiphany of creating the tablet. At the time her most important devices that contained firewall programs, Trojans, and etc. were constantly being hacked by her peers, which made studying for classes much harder.

In her history books they talked about old technological devices that humans and aliens alike had used. When they had studied human laptops there was a small section about tablets. A light weighted device that had a touchscreen, and capabilities of laptops. The first generation devices were easily overlooked since they were minuscule compared to their predecessors. Yet, she saw the potential, and refurbished one herself. She realized that hackers had the unfortunate fault of ignoring the past and always trying to go forward with new things, so they would easily overlook something so ancient showing up on a network if they were busy looking for something new. Needless to say, she never had to worry about people sabotaging her school work again.

"What is this thing? It looks like a data pad." Saren asked poking at the tablet.

"It's not." Shepard said and started pulling out the binary coding of the messages and inputting certain strands into the tablet.

"I can see that." Saren noted annoyed. Apparently, he really didn't like her ignoring him.

"It's an old human tech that I've turned into something phenomenal." Shepard replied happily. She then stopped, noticing what she had just revealed. Her secret weapon was now known by someone who could use it against her. Apprehension caused her to turn her head to Saren. The knowing smirk caused her heart to pause in shock.

He would have loved to keep her in that state of panic, but he had, had a long day already today and wanted to get to sleep as soon as possible. "Your secrets safe. Calm down." He sighed and leaned back onto his arms.

"Thank you." Shepard replied thankfully, feeling her cheeks warm slightly from his kindness.

Saren looked at the ceiling and shook his head when his heartbeat sped up. He finally accepted the fact that Shepard had such a stranglehold on him. She held the key to his future of regaining his once glorious Spectre status, or possibly some unknown future that was full of mystery, a future that included the both of them. To what capacity, he wasn't sure he wanted to know anytime soon. Yet, a small part of him wanted to head in that direction. 'It'll be something new at least,' Saren thought with a chuckle.

"There. Perfection (hopefully)!" Shepard shouted in glee. She then childishly ran on all fours behind him and sat down throwing her arms around his small waist to show him the tablet. Ignoring the silent protest of his body, she moved her head under his arm and grabbed her Omni-tool. Ungracefully, it took her a couple of tries to put it on his wrist. She was just too excited to show off her 'new' invention.

"What the hell are you doing!?" Saren demanded in a high-pitched shrill of chirps and calls.

Shepard winced from the high-pitched feedback her translator gave from him, "Calm down and listen. Send a message to your Omni-tool."

"Why can't you just do it yourself?"

"Just do it."

"Stupid, demanding..." Saren mumbled as he wrote out a short message. Once he sent it, the tablet started glowing and binary swirled around for a few seconds until actual words formed on the screen. Instantly, it showed Shepard's name, her location, what model Omni-tool she had, and a list of messages that were sent to his Omni-tool from hers.

"Okay, now look through the spyware I have, and try to find some sort of intrusion that would match the tablets."

He scrolled and scanned carefully. Saren always prided himself on the fact he was very thorough with his work. A big reason Nihlus hated writing reports since more often than not he would have to redo them multiple times until Saren had been pleased. However, his immense thoroughness produced no results which caused him to go into a frustrated panic and wildly start trying to find some sort of trace. He became so caught up that he didn't even notice that he laid a hand on Shepard's as he grasped the tablet.

Shepard noticed however. She had to bite her lip so she didn't squeal in surprise. When his claws clamped down around her hand she could feel a few lines of scratched skin begin to form, causing her to curse his creepy predatory style. 'Would it really kill him to file them down somewhat!?' She wondered angrily. Soon enough the pain lowered to a pulsing sensation, and she felt the warmth of his hand consume her own.

Her hand compared to his was so small and unintimidating. Where he had sharp talons, she had feeble nails. Where he had hard plating's along his fingers and part of the back of his hand, she just had smooth skin. Even the smooth inside of his hand beat her semi rough one. 'I must be unbearably unattractive to him,' she thought with a heavy sigh. it seemed like men always had a tendency to stay away from her since she didn't look like all the other pretty officers. She was lucky if one was bold enough to even look at her for a few seconds with an appreciative glance. It was why she exploded in red when Saren did that. Why she went weak in the knees when he jokingly flirted with her.

A soft purr suddenly came from him when she sighed. Curiously, she peered up at him, but he still was concentrating on finding her tracking program. Since he was still preoccupied she took in another deep breath and slowly blew out onto the soft side of his torso she had access to. After some curious exploration and experimenting she found that the spots just above his elbow, and the lower part of his abdomen were the most sensitive since he purred more loudly. There was also a certain other part of him he had to cross his legs over to prevent from greeting her, "Shepard stop that now!" He demanded angrily.

"Sorry I got carried away in experimenting!" She blushed intensely since she thought he hadn't noticed her.

"I realize that. Now can we get back to the task at hand?... I can't find anything..." He admitted quietly. He hated losing even if it was meaningless and didn't actually matter if he did or not.

"Fantastic!" She exclaimed happily. Scratch that, he hated losing to her. "Alright, so do you know what spiders are?"

"Even Turian's have similar animals to your human ones Shepard."

Shepard rolled her eyes. Anytime he would compare their species, it meant she made him annoyed. "Fine. Now picture your Omni-tool as the center of the web, and the lines shooting out as the binary of messages sent over the Extranet from and to your Omni-tool. Usual tracking programs find that binary from the center of the web and shoot a similar thread of binary back out to the source. Because of this and a little work from the right program, you can track that duplicate thread and find who created the original.

"Now with this program, rather than fire a duplicated thread from the center that is your Omni-tool. I've turned it into a struggling prey. As a caught struggling prey you send signals down threads that connect to you. Now, if I can isolate the thread that has the spider on it, I can follow it and catch the bitch." Shepard sneered at that last part pleased with the idea of corning the bitch and getting back at her for almost blowing her up.

"That's pretty brilliant." Saren admitted.

"You really think so?" Shepard asked embarrassed, but more so stunned by him complimenting her.

"Wait, are you tracking all my messages?" He questioned completely ignoring her excitedly humbled query.

She sighed. She should have been prepared for that, she realized. "No, just this person's and mine. That's the only binary I've looked at." She then pulled away and stood up from his bed. "We just have to wait for one more message to fill in the rest of the binary. Then we can go and track them down." She then grabbed his arm and started sliding her Omni-tool off. When her hand started sliding on his he noticed the scratches and grabbed her hand with the soft pads of his fingers.

"Did I do this?" He asked but mostly concentrated on the feeling of her hand in his. It was warm and sturdy. Yet, gentle and so delicate. With one hard squeeze he probably could break a few bones, but that would be a shame since they were quite beautiful in an odd foreign sense.

"Yes." She whispered barely as her heart tried to pound out of her throat. She gulped down air in a desperate attempt for her consciousness to regain control over her brain.

They stayed in that mock proposal position as their pulses harmonized and sung in an odd duet. Their emotions joined in to create a ghosted symphony of pleasurable uneasiness that swirled around in the air, but unable to penetrate the 'musicians' ears. Musicians who were deaf to their own creation both inside and out.

A long pause filled the air as they continued to just stare at one another. Saren wanted to pull her onto his bed and just do away with the tension building up in his body. He'd make it quick and rough, and would even settle for cuddling afterwards if that meant he no longer would be distracted by her presence. He knew it would be so easy to convince her since she obviously felt the same lustful way about him, but for some reason he just couldn't. "Good night." Saren said and let go of her arm.

Shepard opened her mouth but closed it with a nod. She picked up her tablet and slide on her Omni-tool. As she walked to his door she pulled up the message he sent from her Omni-tool. She then stopped and turned to him, "this idiotic girl is as smart and as attractive as a Varren rolling around in feces?'" She read aloud, unamused. He smirked at his cleverness and chuckled some. He then lay back pleased with himself. "Well then, what does that say about you, and your little tent there? Which, by the way, you've impressively kept for the last 20mins or so."

Saren froze and slowly rolled onto his side away from her. Her condescending laugh then filled the air as she closed his door and went into her own room.
