A/N: Hey guys! Long time no read, huh? So with some "helpful" reviews, the summary of the story now states that Karen is Hard of Hearing. Thanks guys. Also, this story is just a push in direction of the Season and also it kind of shows what Karen is going to be, however, unlike what many of you are probably thinking she's not exactly a Banshee like Lydia, but she is close. So have fun, I love you, guys! Drop a review. More reviews mean I write faster. Any questions, comments (That you don't want everyone to read), concerns you have with anything (like the synopsis) send them to me in a PM or shoot me an email. Love, ya'll!

P.S. The two lines of bold in the middle are when Karen is mouthing to Melissa, the italics are when Melissa is signing. Thanks!
(Season 2)
(Karen)
The darkness continued to pull me down and force me to abandon all hopes of returning to the land of the living. I could hear snippets of conversations around me. I could hear Dad talking to Melissa about something. Stiles and Scott talking about changing and bites. I wanted so badly to move and talk. What could I do to make them know I was still here?
(Derek)
Although I had been cleared of all charges, I felt that Sheriff Stilinski wouldn't be very happy that I, being 24 years old, was visiting his 16 year old daughter. I knew that Scott and Stiles wouldn't tell me anything because they weren't very happy since I had killed Uncle Peter, and they really weren't happy when they figured out that Karen and I were dating. I didn't know what I could do to make sure that she was okay. I guess I would just have to keep an eye on Scott and Stiles so that I can make sure Karen is okay.
(3rd Person POV)
Melissa and Sheriff Stilinski stood beside Karen's bed. Melissa was taking Karen's temperature as John held her hand.
"So, Mel, what's wrong with her?"
"Well the doctor seems to think that she's having an allergic reaction to whatever animal bit her. I can't really tell you what else is going on because even the doctors don't know. They say that the Martin girl, Lydia, is having the same problem."
"Will they be okay?"
"Yeah, we're giving them both plenty of antibiotics to combat whatever may be affecting them."
"Thanks, Mel. For everything."
"You're welcome, John."
Melissa kissed John on the cheek and kissed Karen on the forehead. Leaving father and daughter alone to have some quality time.

I can't believe that my little girl is stuck here in this hospital. The doctors have been keeping her sedated until she stops crashing. They don't want her to be awake and then her heart stop because they are worried that it will traumatize her. I have to go to the station and deal with the investigation into the death of Kate Argent. I know that Mel is going to be keeping an eye on my baby girl.
(Stiles)
With Karen and Lydia's rooms right beside each other I just sat out side of both of them. I decided that if they happened to wake up that they would both need a familiar face to see. Scott was spending his time with Allison when he wasn't at work or here with me. We constantly checked on Lydia and Karen's wounds because if they showed any signs of accelerated healing we would have to figure out how to tell them about werewolves. I really did not want to have that conversation with either of them. Especially since I had kept Karen in the dark about the whole werewolf situation. I guess I'll just have to wait until they wake up.
(Lydia)
Dad is starting to get on my nerves.
"You want help getting in the shower?"
"Maybe if I was four. And still taking bubble baths."
The whole time I'm in the shower I keep thinking, "I swear to God if he coddles me like a child one more time I'm...going...to...scream."
(Karen) (1 Week later)
Oh my god, my head is killing me. What the heck happened? I finally get my eyes to open. The light hurts so I close them. I need to figure out what happened to me. As I lie there I hear the door start to open. As I listen I can hear soft footsteps on the linoleum floor of my hospital room. When I perceive the shadow above my head I carefully open my eyes. I smile as I see that it's Melissa. She's standing beside my bed and looking at some of the monitors. When she turns and looks at me, I smile.
"Karen?" Her voice is more muffled than usual. What happened? "Karen, don't try to talk and don't try to sign. You've been through something really dangerous and it has really hurt you. Do you remember anything?"
I searched through my memory. I couldn't really remember anything, it was like my brain was covered in a heavy layer of fog. I shook my head and Melissa looked at me. She smiled at me, although I could see in her eyes that she was partially relieved, partially disappointed.
"That's okay, sweetie! Don't stress about not being able to remember anything, just wait a little while, your memories will come back soon enough!" Melissa's optimism is almost infectious. Almost.
Where's Lydia? I mouth, since I can't talk I can only mouth.
"She's at home. She got out of the hospital a few days ago."
Stiles?
"In the waiting room. He only left the hospital this last week and a half because your dad made him go to school."
What about Allison?
"She is in the waiting room also, along with Scott. Lydia's on her way. When we realized that you were waking up they all hurried here to the hospital. There is also a very tall, very dark, and very handsome gentleman waiting in the lobby. He comes by everyday, sits with you for a little while, and then he paces in the waiting room for a few hours. He has been very worried about you as have the rest of us. Don't ever do anything like that again!" Melissa talked and signed, not realizing how quickly she transitioned from speaking to signing.
I looked up at her with my best puppy dog eyes.
"I'll go get everyone. You can have two visitors at a time, who do you want first?"
S-T-I-L-E-S S-C-O-T-T. I fingerspelled. It was the only movement I could manage.
"Of course, sweetie and I'll make sure to bring you some water, okay?"
I blinked once as my way of replying. I closed my eyes and smiled.
"Karen. Wake up!" I could hear Stiles yelling so cracked an eye open and noticed him holding something that resembled a bouquet of flowers but was so dead it couldn't be flowers. Or so I thought.
"Hey Karen! We brought you flowers! But we kinda brought them the first night you were in here and we forgot to give them water. Are you okay? Need anything? Water, candy, mphmmmphmm." The rest of Stiles' rambling was cut off by Scott's hand covering his mouth.
"I think she's good, Stiles. Now, Karen, we just came to check on you. Mom said you were waking up and we want everyone to get to see you before the doctor checks on you. We gotta go now, but, we'll be back in a little while. Love you, K." Scott kissed my forehead, Stiles did the same and they left the room.
I smiled and closed my eyes again, hoping that the little pin pricks of pain would go away.
Allison and Lydia came next but Allison was acting shady, and I mean 2am Waffle House Shady. While Lydia, the epitome of togetherness and organization, looked like she was going to cry. So I feel like everything is going wrong with the whole world. My world is crashing and no one is there to help me stop it or to at least help me cope with the fact that things will never be the same. After Allison and Lydia left I closed my eyes again and was hoping that no one else would come in. I didn't know that my biggest surprise was coming.
(Derek)
I paced waiting for those for teenagers to be done and give me the chance to talk to Karen. I knew she still didn't know what was going on because Stiles and Scott told Allison that Melissa said Karen couldn't remember the attack. That she didn't remember Uncle Peter, a man that she cared for deeply and truly trusted, had been a monstrous, villainous werewolf. I wasn't going to tell her if I didn't have to. My only focus now was to keep her safe, and if that meant I couldn't be with her, then so be it.
(Karen)
He stood by my bedside kissed my head, told me that he loved me but we couldn't stay together and then he left. What did I do? Why does Derek Hale suddenly not love me anymore?
