Chp 13
Jon was sitting at the judge's office. All the aristocrats are being held at the basement of this building while some of the criminals were at the city to capture some more and some were here to guard those they have captured. He had placed his legs on the table and smirked. Justice will be served. Then, there was a knock.
"What?", he asked.
"I got what you want, sir", said the voice behind the door.
"Come in", said Jon.
One of his goons came in and handed him a brown manila file. "She has an eight year old kid with her; name Jayme Elliot Crane".
Jon plucked one photograph out of all the bunch; the one that showed Eva with her son, Jayme as they were returning from the beach after an afternoon surfing. The rest of the photograph showed the CSI Miami team, Hallie and CSI New York team. "Ayumi remarried?", Jon asked, curiously and surprisingly.
"Yes sir, to a Det. Donald Flack, Jr. They have a daughter and twin boys", said the goon.
Jon nodded and dismissed his goon. Eight years past and so much had happened. Ayumi remarried and have three children with her new husband. Horatio also have found a long lost son named Kyle Harmon, who is now serving at Afghanistan. Eva was pregnant and had his child and gave the boy his name – Crane. Jon read the report. Jayme was as healthy as any normal child. There was no mental problem. Jon smiled. He knew Eva would do anything to give their son the childhood he never had and to not let him become like his father. "Thank you, Eva", he said to himself like a whisper.

Eva was at lost as Eva, Eric and Wolfe were tracing a particular aristocrat that was running away from Bane's army. "We really need to find this guy before Bane does", said Eva.
"Well, that's the problem, it's as if he just…, vanished", said Wolfe.
"No one simply just vanished", said Eric. He kept a radio with him. Everyone does, so when Bane army arrived, they can be prepared. Eva planned to hide Jayme with Alexx's family. Ayumi and the rest of the New York team were on their way here and will arrive in a few hours. Ayumi and Don had put their children in his mother's care while Hallie was still in Japan to visit her uncles and will remain there until this entire situation is over.
The radio suddenly became frenzy with officers sighting an unmark helicopter. Officers hidden in high towers and buildings were confirming – it was Bane and a handful of his men. Then, the radio became static. Eva, Eric and Wolfe stood stiff; awaiting the radio to go online, only to find Bane's voice.
"Good citizen of Miami! Hand me over Max Shreck and I will not harm you! You have 24 hours or I will turn this city to ashes! In the mean time, do not panic. My men will only be scattering around to look for him. You're cooperation is much appreciated", said Bane before the line went dead. Eva, Eric and Wolfe left in haste and met up Horatio and the newly arrived CSI New York team.
"We need everyone to standby at all borders, airports, any area that could land them and all city entrance. We're gathering to people to a safe location. The houses are all abandon", said Horatio.
"What about Jayme?", asked Eva.
"I called Alexx and Jayme is with her at the hospital. Kyle is there too. He and his squad will take watch on who goes in and out from that hospital", said Horatio, "Our order is to not let them come into the city. Either we catch them or kill them in sight".
Eva sighed in relief. Everyone were put into groups and separated. Eva, Ayumi, Don and Aidan went to Miami International Airport with a team of SWAT as they awaited Bane to land. Eva asked Aidan where her son is.
"He's with Don's children, he should be safe with them", said Aidan.
The helicopter arrived and everyone readied themselves by aiming the gun at Bane and his men. His men, once touched Miami ground, also pointed their guns at the law enforcement. Eva saw Bane looking directly at her.
"Which one of you officers is CSI Evangeline Dawns?", asked Bane.
"How the hell he knows you?", asked Don.
Ayumi and Eva answered spontaneously, "Jonathan".
"I'm going to ask again. Which one of you is Evangeline Dawns?", asked Bane again.
"I am", said Eva as she braved herself to step forward, "What do you want with me?".
"Scarecrow told me to say hi", said Bane.
"Screw him!", said Eva.
Bane, although with that mask, looked confused. "I thought you love him", he said.
"I love Jonathan, not Scarecrow!", said Eva.
Bane shrugged and said, "We're looking for Max Shreck. Have you seen him?".
"We're looking for him too", said Eva.
"Oh, good, we're on the same page", said Bane, "Help me look for him and I'll spare Miami and its people".
"People here would rather die than help you!", said Eva, angrily.
"You're talking as if you have a choice", said Bane.
"You're talking as if I don't", said Eva.
"Let me through and no harm shall come to you and your team", said Bane.
Eva backed away and said, "Now what?".
"We can't let them through", said Aidan.
"Give him out the warning", said Don.
Eva stepped forward again, "Mr. Bane, I'm going to give you a choice. Either you surrender or we are forced to open fire".
"Then open fire it is", said Bane as he drew out his rifle.
Bullets were everywhere. Eva fired and suddenly felt a terrible pain on her shoulder. Then, she felt light-headed. Her vision started to become blurry and all she could hear was Don giving orders to fall back before darkness succumbed her surrounding.
