Me: Hey, guys. Here's the thirteenth chapter to Paper Mario and Sonic. The finale is coming after this.
Mario: Are you people psyched about it?
Sonic: I know I am.
Me: Me, too. First the final battle, then the battle with Dimentio and then the finale after this chapter. Anyway, here's the story. Enjoy.
After finding every Pure Heart, the band of heroes set off for Count Bleck. The stakes were high as the ominous void grew larger and the end drew near. Could Mario, Sonic and their friends stave off the inevitable and overturn the prophecy? What strange twist of fate awaited Tippy and Count Bleck? These thoughts plagued the minds of our heroes as the curtain rose on the final act...
The team found themselves inside the void, which was all dark and scary.
"So here we are at last...Count Bleck's castle," Tippy said. "So Blumiere IS here."
"Tippy, who the heck is Blumiere?" Amy asked.
"Er...never mind," Tippy said. "We'd better get going."
"Right," everyone said. So the team set off to the castle to find Count Bleck. The castle was an oversized maze full of traps and bad guys. There were candles that were supposed to be lit in a pattern. That pattern was no flame, flame, flame, no flame and flame. The candle pattern lead to a room where O'Chunks stood in wait for the team.
"Slap me down with a slab o' mutton, I never would o' thought yeh'd make it 'ere," O'Chunks said. "I'll tell yeh this, though, yeh shouldn't 'ave been such a fork in me rumpus! Now I 'ave to hit yeh with the full force o' me chunks!"
"That's big talk from the chump who gets stomped again...and AGAIN!" Bowser spat.
"'OW DARE YEH!" O'Chunks yelled.
"You heard him! You're going down, chunky boy," Eggman yelled.
"'Ow about provin' it then!" O'Chunks said. "Right 'ere, yeh and me! Wrasslin' match o' the ages!"
"Bring it on, beardo!" Bowser and Eggman said.
"We'll take you alone!" Bowser said.
"We got all the sweet stomping you need, right here!" Eggman said. The team were worried at first. But Bowser and Eggman said they can handle it alone. So the team went out of the room to let Bowser and Eggman deal with O'Chunks. Then O'Chunks got bigger to become more powerful. So Bowser and Eggman fought O'Chunks until he was weak.
"'Ow could yeh be more chunkier than I?" O'Chunks asked. "Yer naught but a bloomin' turtle and a really fat, egg-shaped scientist! 'Ow can I go on livin' with the shame o' it all? 'Ey, Bowser and Eggman, Let me keep me dignity as me game ends! Finish quick!"
"Hey, there's no shame in being smacked down by a huge, studly boss!" Bowser said. Then the castle began to shake. The ceiling was falling! Everyone was about to face their doom for good but the ceiling stopped falling, thanks to O'Chunks. The team was team confused. O'Chunks told everyone to leave the room right away and to pass after giving him a big spanking. Then Bowser and Eggman grabbed hold of the ceiling.
"Hey, Super Stupid Bros. and Team Stupid! Get the princesses and your friends to the next room, NOW!" Eggman said.
"But..." Luigi said.
"WE SAID GO!" Bowser and Eggman said.
"Alright, Bowser and Eggman," Peach said. So the rest of the team went to the next room. Bowser and Eggman told O'Chunks to get out, too because they can both hold a ceiling that heavy all day. Then the three villains argued who gets to leave and who gets to stay. But back in the next room, there was a loud crash. Luigi and Sonic tried to get in the previous room but the door won't open. Then the castle began to shake, which was a sign that the void was getting bigger. So the team went to the checkpoint leading to the castle foyer.
An endless labyrinth of mind-boggling turns and deadly enemies. This final journey was more dangerous and trying than our heroes had seen before. Mario, Sonic and friends kept on without Bowser and Eggman, who were lost in a duel. There was no time to stop and search for Bowser and Eggman, or even grieve. Our heroes knew they had to rush toward the final encounter with Count Bleck.
While in the foyer, the team felt another tremor.
"Another tremor...I've lose count of them all," Amy said.
"It is strange...I mean this is Count Bleck's private castle, right?" Silver asked. "So why would he let the destruction ravage his own home? What sort of plan is it if he destroys himself in the process?"
"Hm...got a good point there, Silver," Sonic said as Tippy flew away.
"Blumiere...so it really is you..." Tippy mumbled.
"Um...are you okay?" Blaze asked.
"Ahem, uh...let's just keep moving," Tippy said. "We need to find Count Bleck soon." So the team continued to find Count Bleck in the castle. Along the way, the team spotted Merlon. He said to get to Count Bleck, the team must press a switch in front of him. So the team did but it was a trap and the Merlon the team saw was actually Mimi. The team found themselves in a dungeon. But luckily the team got out with a key leading to a locked door. There were mushroom traps that lead to other dungeons but the team managed to dodge them. Then when the team went deeper in the castle, they spotted Merlee.
"Heroes, do not flee! For I am the lovely and mysterious Merlee!" Merlee said. "My beauty and the stars led you here. Rest now, for you have nothing to fear!"
"Um...are you really Merlee?" Shadow asked.
Whatever is it you imply? How could anyone wonder if it is I?" Merlee asked. "Look at this aura glow, does it not tell you all you need to know?" Then Merlee asked three questions on any weaknesses the team ever has. The team did ultra shroom, thunder rage and cooking mistake. After going through that, Merlee was furious. Then she turned into Mimi.
"I put everything you hate in there!" Mimi yelled. "How'd you get through all that icky stuff? Unless...you bad people were LYING!"
"How dare you lecture us!" Peach yelled. "You were just pretending to be Merlon and Merlee!"
"Talk about a dirty trick!" Elise yelled. "You should be ashamed of yourself!"
"Ashamed...of myself?" Mimi asked. "I like getting what I want, so I do whatever I need to do to get it. You're ones that's always have to get rescued by boys. THAT'S embarrassing! Golly, you are a lot of talk when you have your little boyfriends to protect you!"
"Y-You..." Peach said. "Very well. If you insist, we'll give you what you so richly deserve." Sonic was worried about this but Peach and Elise told the team to stay out of it. They are doing this because Mimi threw mud at their identity. So the team went to leave the princesses alone except Amy. She said everyone needs someone who has good skills with a hammer. The princesses agreed and fought Mimi until she was weak. Mimi was upset after the battle.
"I don't...get it! I got beat by two...princesses?" Mimi asked. "You..."
"Oh, what's the matter, little girl?" Peach asked. "Did we spank Mimi a little too hard?"
"You did it, princesses," Luigi said. But then the castle shook again, which meant the destruction was spreading. So the team left except Peach, Elise and Amy. They told Mimi to leave the room but Mimi refused. Then there was a loud crash! This worried Sonic so he tried to open the door but the door was stuck. In the room, it is revealed the Peach, Elise and Amy and they were helping Mimi.
"You silly girls, what are you DOING?" Mimi yelled.
"What...what ARE we doing?" Peach asked. "We leapt into action without even thinking."
"I don't want your stupid help!" Mimi yelled. "Just...just leave me alone."
"No. We can't do that," Elise said. "You have been very, very bad, but we can't leave you here to die."
"We don't know how you were raised, but we were taught to help people in need," Amy said. This amazed Mimi but the castle shook again, causing the girls to fall. This worried Sonic again but Tippy said the princesses would be mad if the team wastes their time, moping. The team agreed and went to the checkpoint to the next part of the castle.
First Bowser and Eggman, and then the fair Princess Peach and Elise and Amy were lost to the halls of Castle Bleck. Would they ever be seen again? Without his allies, could our hero Mario hope to stand against the evil Count Bleck? The very air in the castle grew heavier and even more ominous with every step. All they could do was plod forward in silence.
The team found themselves in a hallway, the interior of the castle. Tippy said the void has grown bigger now. The Chaos Heart should be up ahead.
"The end is almost here...we must hurry!" Tippy said.
"Yes. Let's go," Sonic said. So the remaining teammates went to find the Chaos Heart and Count Bleck before the world ends. There was a locked door in one room, so the team went to a hidden path next to a flight of stairs. The team found the key and went through the door. But through the journey, Dimentio clones were attacking in mirrors. Finally the team spotted the last of Count Bleck's minions, Dimentio.
"So...you've made it here at last," Dimentio said. "Oh...but what's this? You seem to be missing the ravishing princesses, the arm flailer and the egg scientist.
"Dimentio...we don't have time to trade barbs with you...move out of the way!" Tippy said.
"Ah, I see. You're in a hurry," Dimentio said. "Allow me to get out of your way then. Just as soon as you defeat me! You've proven to be worthy foes in the past, so I'm not going to make it easy. You'll have to come get me first. It'll be like a game of tag...with magic!" He disappeared and sent the team to the previous areas they visited, including King Sammer's destroyed kingdom. Finally the team caught Dimentio.
"Enjoying my game of tag?" Dimentio asked.
"Hey! Stop messing around and fight us for real!" Luigi yelled.
"Messing around? Oh, no," Dimentio said. "Magic is no laughing matter. I am always deadly serious. I have been watching you. You are the only ones who can stand up to Count Bleck. So I have a favor to ask. Will you help me...destroy the count?"
"What are you talking about?" Sonic yelled. "You want to betray him?"
"Betray him?" Dimentio asked and laughed. "Oh, no. It was Count Bleck who has betrayed ME! He said he would destroy all worlds and create a new, perfect world in their place. But he was lying! He plans to obliterate every world, and then keep them all in ruin."
"What? He can't do that!" Shadow yelled.
"I have always known about his nefarious goal," Dimentio said. "But I could never hope to stop him on my own. I feigned loyalty to him as I searched for someone who could defeat him with me. Well, you see...that is why...I rescued the princesses from certain brainwashing. It's also why I sent you to the Underwhere to fix the broken Pure Heart. And why I freed a man and a teenage hedgehog to be reunited with their brother and friend...now do you see?"
"Wait! You were helping us?" Rouge asked.
"No wonder you killed Silver and I while we were in this castle," Blaze said. Dimentio asked everyone if the team can return the favor by destroying the count. But the team refused to do that. Sonic was engaged to Elise so he can't team up with a freaky villain. Dimentio teased Sonic in his engagement, calling his love for Elise "bestiality" and decided to use Sonic's ring and Luigi's mustache as a shining trophy. Sonic and Luigi were mad about that. So Sonic and Luigi fought Dimentio alone with the rest of the teammates, Tails, Rouge, Shadow, Silver and Blaze. They fought Dimentio until he gave up.
"I...I cry uncle! Mercy! UNCLE I SAY!" Dimentio yelled.
"Had enough, Dimentio?" Luigi asked.
"We didn't need my superstar friend to take you on!" Sonic yelled.
"I-I see that now...your power are formidable..." Dimentio said. "Which is exactly why I can't let you fall into Count Bleck's velvet lined gloves." Then Dimentio created a barrier around the teammates and a bunch of explosions were heard so loudly Mario heard it from outside. Mario tried to open the door but the door was stuck. This worried Mario but Tippy said not to worry because the world will end soon. Mario agreed and went to the last part of the castle.
A frigid wind blew through the dim and drafty corridors of Castle Bleck. Bowser, Eggman, Peach, Elise...and even brave Luigi, Sonic, Tails, Rouge, Shadow, Silver and Blaze were gone. Mario was the only hero left. It was up to Mario to stop the dark prophecy. Every world hung in the balance. What thrilling conclusion awaited our hero? Mario ran to the count's inner sanctum, his mustache fluttering in the breeze.
"So it's just us now, isn't it?" Tippy asked. "It reminds me of the time we first met. I'm so sorry, Mario. I promised you I would help you find your friends. And now...all of them are gone forever..."
"No don't worry, Tippy," Mario said.
"What? You're saying you know they're still alive?" Tippy asked.
"Yes. Sonic has dealt things a lot worse and he survived every time," Mario said.
"Maybe you are right and they did somehow survive...they ARE heroes," Tippy said. "I'm going to believe in them. And...I'm going to believe in HIM...most of all." (The italic letters are Tippy's thoughts) So Mario and Tippy went to find Count Bleck to destroy the Chaos Heart. The hallways were like a labyrinth and hard to go through due to the bad guys appearing like crazy. But finally Mario reached the place where Count Bleck should be. He laughed when he saw Mario come to him.
"I see you've come at last!" Count Bleck said. "So you really are the hero of the Light Prognosticus.
"Count...Bleck..." Tippy murmured.
"But you are far too late to stop the Dark Prognosticus and me...Count Bleck!" Count Bleck said. "All worlds will soon end. Come to grips with that now, for you cannot stop it. I suggest you make yourself comfortable and enjoy this one, final spectacle!"
"But...why? Do you really want to destroy everything?" Tippy asked. "Why would you do this? How...COULD you do this?"
"Count Bleck does not care about any world!" Bleck yelled. "They are all meaningless. Better that I destroy them! Better yet, I shall make it as if they never existed at all!
"If the worlds have no meaning, was our meeting meaningless as well?" Tippy asked. "Answer me, Blumiere!"
"You know the answer, dear Timpani...Count Bleck does not have to tell you..." Bleck said. "But the hour has grown too late. You should know that by now."
"Blumiere..." Tippy murmured. "My love, Blumiere. Or rather, Count Bleck. The only way we can stop this is to defeat you. And that is why Mario and I have come here...to stop this." Bleck laughed and accepted the challenge. He told Natasia to leave. She refused at first but Bleck said he can handle this alone. So she went away from Count Bleck as the battle began. But every time Mario made any attack on Count Bleck, he was shielded by the Chaos Heart. The count thought that Mario has failed to save the world. But then a raspy voice was heard. It was Bowser, Eggman, Peach, Elise, Luigi, Sonic, Amy, Tails, Rouge, Shadow, Silver and Blaze, telling Mario to never give up like this. Sonic was in his Werehog form and Chip has joined in.
"We would never let you destroy everything, you awful count!" Peach said.
"Yeah, you tell him princess!" Luigi said.
"We aren't going to let you get away with this!" Elise said.
"We aren't giving up! You'll never win!" Sonic said.
"You're all here...but how?" Tippy asked.
"We fell through the floor before we got flattened by the ceiling," Bowser said.
"We fell through, too, and landed on Bowser and Eggman!" Peach said. "It was a surprisingly soft landing..."
"We don't even know what happened, buddy, but the princesses found Luigi and I out cold," Sonic said. "But we're all here now, so let's do this!"
"You heard him!" Eggman yelled. "Now you've got to deal with all of us!" Then Count Bleck was getting weak and the Pure Hearts surrounded the heroes. The Pure Hearts broke the Chaos Heart's shield, causing the count to be defenseless. "Four heroes unite, their hope burns forth light to shatter the walls of blight." That was what Merlee said earlier. So the team fought the count until he was weak. But somehow he has changed. His red eyes turned blue and he became very pleasant. Then Natasia appeared.
"You have won..." Bleck said. "Now finish Count Bleck. Dispatch me and the Chaos Heart will disappear. The prophecy will be done..."
"Why does it have to end like this..." Tippy asked.
"Timpani...when you vanished, I searched long for you," Count Bleck said. "I never gave up looking...I searched and searched. But I never found you. Without you, the world held no meaning or joy. So I used the forbidden prophecy of the Tribe of the Ancients to end all worlds. I wanted to destroy everything that had taken you away from me..."
"But I am here now...no one can keep us apart anymore...don't you see?" Tippy asked.
"It is too late. Count Bleck has done so much evil," Count Bleck said. "It must end. Just knowing that you are still alive. And knowing that the world you still live in will continue...it gives me peace. I do not have long to live. You must end my game before the Void destroys all..." This made poor Tippy cry as Count Bleck...or rather Blumiere...said those words. This is because the couple is finally together. Peach and Elise felt bad for Tippy as she was in such pity. But then Natasia yelled "LOOK OUT!" Then she was attacked by a laser. The laser came from Dimentio. It seems he survived the explosion that occurred earlier during the long journey around the castle. He said he wanted to attack Count Bleck so he can have the peace he needs.
"Dimentio? You're...alive?" Silver asked.
"Of course. This is my moments," Dimentio said. "Even if the count dies, the Chaos Heart won't disappear if I continue to control it! But I needed the power of the Pure Hearts to beat him...I couldn't do that on my own. So I had you do all of the sweaty labor for me. And you even used your Pure Hearts to defeat Count Bleck! If they make greeting cards to thank people for helping with evil plans, I owe you one."
"What are you saying?" Chip yelled.
"I'm saying that you no longer have value to me, so I'm ending your games," Dimentio said. "They're all yours, Mr. L and Mr. S!"
"Huh? Uh oh," Luigi said.
"Why are we flapping our arms?" Sonic roared. "Oh this...this isn't good!" Then a plant appeared on top of Luigi and Sonic's head. The team was confused why this was happening. Dimentio said he planted a seed on Luigi and Sonic's head while they were unconscious. And the seed has matured! Then Dimentio split the Chaos Heart and himself in two and Luigi and Sonic both jumped to the heart and they became freaky joker-like giants. (I couldn't think of another way to describe Luigi's transformation in the final boss). Dimentio said Luigi and Sonic were the only hosts to hold the Chaos Heart's power. Blumiere tried to stop Dimentio but he sent him, Natasia and Tippy away. So the two Dimentio clones went inside the evil giants know as Sonic and Luigi.
"Now the Chaos Heart is mine!" giant Luigi said.
"I will use this to destroy all worlds...and create perfect new ones!" giant Sonic said. "So, shall we get started? Now I have all I need...to become the king of all worlds!" The team tried to destroy Dimentio but he was one hundred percent invincible! Elise was worried. Will her wedding ever come? Then Dimentio started the destruction of the world. With Tippy, Blumiere and Natasia, they were worried about Mario and his friends. But there was no way to stop Dimentio because he has the Chaos Heart and the Pure Hearts lost their power from Blumiere's evil form. So it was time that the team will have to give up and let all worlds end forever. But Tippy refused to do this because of her and Blumiere's promise to find happiness together. Then O'Chunks and Mimi came out of nowhere.
"My minions...how did you find us here?" Blumiere asked.
"Gosh, I could follow your big smile anywhere, Count!" Mimi said.
"Ah, she lies like a wee rug, this lass!" O'Chunks said. "Natasia told us, Count! She said you'd come 'ere. Or...she said she FELT you'd be here...or somethin' along those lines. Talk about goin' the extra mile! She even sacrificed 'erself teh save yeh! Lissen, Count, I promised me life as well, an' I'm not afraid teh live up teh it! So...yeh gotta let me 'elp!"
"Yeah! I mean, there's no WAY Dimentio's getting away with this!" Mimi yelled. "He pulled a really dirty trick on you, but we'll always stick by your side!"
"My...my loyal minions..." Blumiere said. Then the Pure Hearts appeared and gained power to destroy Dimentio and his new transformation. Tippy said the Pure Hearts are powered by the feelings for anyone's soul, so as long as she and Blumiere are in love, the Pure Hearts shall live on. So Tippy went to take the hearts to Mario and his team. With the team, they were still trying to fight Dimentio and save the worlds and Sonic and Luigi. Then the Pure Hearts appeared and destroyed Dimentio's defense. This gave the team a chance to destroy Dimentio for good. So the team fought Dimentio until he was destroyed and Luigi and Sonic returned to normal. Elise gave Sonic a tight but also gentle hug. Sonic returned it. But Dimentio wasn't done yet, he still has some power left to continue to control the Chaos Heart! Then Blumiere had a plan. If he and Tippy marry and be together forever, the world will return to normal. So Blumiere made a door leading to the same room where Elise and Eggman were "married".
"Hey, I remember this place!" Luigi said.
"Timpani...do you still..." Blumiere began. "Do you still love me?"
"Yes...Blumiere. Of course I do," Tippy...or Timpani...said.
"Then you must come with me," Blumiere said.
"'Ey, Count!" O'Chunks said. "What're yeh doin'?"
"We will use the Pure Hearts again, this time to banish the Chaos Heart," Blumiere said. "All we need is true love...and that is something I am lucky enough to possess. But...with the Chaos Heart gone, the Pure Hearts and those linked to them...they may cease to exist." This worried Mimi for Blumiere to leave like this. But Blumiere had no other choice because all this was his fault from the start. Then the area started to shake, which a sign that the end was drawing close. So everyone watched as Blumiere were talking all about their love together. Then the Pure Hearts banished the Chaos Heart and bells were heard, meaning this was a blessing for Timpani and Blumiere. Elise was touched by that as Sonic held her bridal style.
