This story contains dark and graphic material.
I would also like to point out that the relationship between Edward and Bella is an unhealthy, abusive relationship. I enjoy writing a dark Edward, as I am sure many of you enjoy reading one, but please be aware that Edward's character is very controlling and possessive. I do not want to romanticize domestic violence, and on my profile I have links providing you with information about unhealthy/abusive relationships. Thank you for reading.

Chapter Fifteen: Wonderstruck

When I awoke hours later, it was Twilight. I stretched out my aching limbs, my parched throat screaming out for water. My dreams were filled with a vengeful Alice; her face twisted in pure horror, screaming profanities at me, a foreign look of fury brooding in her once child-like eyes. I choked back a sob.

I had been moved from the floor to the bed while I was asleep, but my neck still ached from sleeping so uncomfortably. A quick glance to my left showed a spotless floor, the evidence of my prior rebellion gone. I moved hastily towards the far window, anxiety creeping into my veins at the thought of spending the rest of my life here, resting my palms flat against the large window. I looked out in awe; the scene before me could easily be described as beautiful and tranquil, if not for my current predicament. A vibrant mass of trees swarmed the vast landscape; a furious sea of green. Snowcapped mountains loomed over the forestry, a cloud of fog smothering the mountain peaks and weaving in-between trees. The sky was covered in thick grey cloud, though the setting sun flooded the valley with a soft orange-pink hue.

I have to get out of here, but where is here? Even If I were to escape, I wouldn't know where to go. I doubt there was even a road anywhere nearby. I pressed myself further against the window, resting my forehead on the cool glass as I studied the scenery. "Where am I?" I whispered.

"Canada."

I whipped around at the sound of his voice, not once hearing him come in. Stupid Vampirism… He smirked, amused by how taken aback I was by his sudden appearance. I quickly glanced around, before swiftly moving behind the large black piano. Even though it was pathetic, I felt safer having the hefty instrument between us. Edward rolled his eyes, but his wicked smirk never fell from his perfect lips. "I said that I would not hurt you." He spoke calmly, although everything about him seemed the opposite. His eyes were locked on me, tracing my every move, and his limbs were locked; ready to strike if attacked.

"You hurt Alice." I seethed. I pressed myself up against the wall as adrenalin pumped through my body. Edward began taking slow strides around the side of the piano, a long pair of fingers running along the smooth wooden instrument. I began walking around the piano at the same pace, ensuring it was always shielding me. The fact Edward and I were playing this pathetic cat and mouse game around the piano just made me more scared of him. If he wanted to, he would just lunge at me in a blur, but he enjoyed the hunt.

"Did I?" He asked in a condescending matter. I swear to God I was gonna throw something at him. "Alice is fine."
"Fine?" I shrieked, moving around the piano until I was standing right in front of him. "She was screaming for help, you sick bastard!" I was practically seething as hot tears rolled down my cheeks. I was too angry to even feel ashamed at crying in front of him. Edward stepped forward and gently took my face in between his hands in – what I assumed to be – a reassuring matter. I slapped his hands away, ignoring his furious hiss. Before I could even comprehend what was happening Edward had dived at me and had thrown me upon the satin bed sheets at an inhuman speed. He rested on his elbows above me, his nose almost touching mine. "Did you learn nothing last night, little girl?" He snarled. I pressed myself further into the mattress, cringing at his harsh tone. "I am your mate. You will treat me with respect." His voice was like thunder, thrilling and severe, wrapping around you and demanding authority.
"It's like," I began with a low voice "you want me to be a lifeless shell. You're practically begging me to kill myself –"

"Enough!" He roared. I held my breath as I waited for him to strike, but instead he leapt off me, running his hands through his hair in fury. I swallowed thickly and sat up. His eyes snapped towards mine and my breath caught in my throat. His blood red eyes had been consumed by a menacing black, gleaming in pure rage like onyx. "Alice is right here with you, Isabella." Without breaking eye contact, he retrieved his black iPhone from the pocket of his leather jacket, pressing a button and holding the device to his ear. For several moments he spoke fluid Italian, chuckling menacingly before he hung up and slipped the phone back into his jacket.

"You'll be with Alice soon again, Isabella." He spoke with conviction, a sly grin creeping onto his Adonis-like face. "In fact, I intend on you joining her. Soon, preferably."

Fuck. He was going to kill me. I jumped off the bed frantically as terror fueled my every movement, my breathing shallow and my eyes burning with tears.

He strode towards the double doors and gripped the golden handles, throwing the doors open. He turned to face me, a wicked grin adorning his features.

I swear I forgot to breathe for a minute. It couldn't be… My mouth hung open in shock, tears streaming down my cheeks in mourning. "No…" I choked out as realization hit me.

"Isabella." He gestured beside him to the red eyed girl standing in the door way "You remember Alice?"

Sorry if this was short, but I wanted to leave it as a cliffhanger. Please review. Thanks for reading.
