After a much long wait, another update!
Keith's eyes widen when he saw Black's eyes light up. He looked down at his Voltcom and looked back up at Black. The lion lowered his head and opened his mouth. Keith walked to the entrance of the lion and entered the cockpit. He walked over to the pilot seat took a seat. Seeing the key was still inserted, he tried turning the lion on and got no response. He looked down in disappointment. He slammed his hands down in frustration. The console turned on, he looked up in surprise. He quickly checked the power on black and saw that it was almost depleted. He quickly connected his Voltcom to black and brought his messages up and sent the emergency message to Pidge. As soon as he hit send, everything turned off. He cursed to himself in frustration. He disconnected his Voltcom and took the key to Black and got up and exited the lion. He found his mom standing at the entrance looking at him in shock. He looked at her in question. "What?"
"Why is it every time I touch this lion I feel a shock?" Kelsi demanded.
He looked at her in surprise. "You feel a shock?"
"Yes!" She exclaimed. She reached up and touched the lion and felt the shock go through her body. She closed her eyes.
He watched her silently. He walked up closer to her and touched the spot she was and closed his eyes as well. They both opened their eyes and found themselves in a different dimension. They looked at each other in alarm. He walked forward and looked around. All around them was a field of flowers, he looked back at her in question, "have you been here before?"
Kelsi's mouth dropped and she nodded her head slowly. "I use to take you to a place like this when you were a baby."
"Kelsi….Keith…"
They both turned in the direction they heard the voice come from. Keith's eyes widen when he saw the man. Kelsi looked at the man in front of them in shock, "dad?"
"Dad?" Keith questioned. He studied the man in front of them. His eyes widen when he realized where he's seen this man before. He looked at his mother, "who is this?"
The man gave a little chuckled and smiled at the pair. He gave Kelsi a sad smile, "My daughter, how I missed you. He looked at Keith and smiled at him proudly. "My grandson. You've grown to be a great man."
Kelsi's eyes watered, she quickly rushed over to the man and hugged him. He held her tight. And whispered encouragement and love to her. Keith watched in silence, the man looked up from his daughter and gave him a sad smile. "I never got the chance to meet you. I'm Kenneth Kogane.
Keith's mouthed dropped in shocked. "But that was over a hundred years ago!"
Kenneth chuckled back at him, he pulled away and wiped the tears from her eyes. He looked back at his grandson and smiled. "I know you have many questions for me, but we don't have much time." Keith nodded his head in understanding. He looked down at his daughter, "I love you Kelsi, your mother and I miss you very much." He looked at Keith. "You do have Arus lineage in your blood and have every right to marry the princess. The third planet that made Voltron has always been held close to you."
Keith looked at him in question. "Been held close to me?" Kelsi's eyes widen in shock, she reached around her neck and pulled a necklace forward. They both looked down at it in question.
"The answers has always been there." Kenneth responded. That charm is the key to everything. You must return to Arus now! I love you two, you must leave now!"
The couple felt the shock shoot through them. They fell to the floor in shock. They groaned in pain. Keith quickly got up and rushed to his mother. "Are you okay?"
She rubbed her head, "yes, are you?" He nodded his head, he helped her get up. She glanced down at her necklace and looked at him. "So this is what you've been looking for?"
He shook his head, "no, you're what I've been looking for." He pulled his mom into his arms and hugged her. She held him close. They felt a warmth between them and pulled away. The charm was glowing. He looked at her in question, "has this happen before?"
She shook her head, "No." She went to grab it tentatively expecting it to be warm, but she felt nothing but cold metal. She frowned at looked at him. "what is this?"
"I have no idea," he responded. He took the charm from her hand and studied it. He frowned.
She took the charm from him and looked up at him, "You heard what he said son, we must get to Arus now." She pulled away from Keith and walked away from the lion. She felt him walking closely behind her. She looked over her shoulder and watched the lion raise to sit on his back legs. "how does it do that?"
He chuckled at her in response, "I've come to not question the lions anymore. I feel like they're alive."
She nodded her head numbly. They walked into the house, Daniel and Jason looked at them in question. Jason rushed to his wife side, "is everything okay?" She nodded her head quietly, she took a seat at the table and tried to process everything that just happen. He looked at Keith in question. "What happen?"
Keith took a seat across from his mother and starred at the table. "I just met my grandfather." Jason and Daniel exchanged looks. He chuckled at them, he knew he sounded crazy. "We just had a vision."
Daniel's eyes widen, he had heard about Princess Allura was able to speak to her father, even tho he was dead. He placed a hand on his dads shoulder, "dad, he's not joking."
Keith spoke softly, "we need to charge black. We need to get back to Arus!"
Daniel nodded his head, "how do we do that?"
Keith glanced at him, "do we have solar panels or is there a storm coming?"
Kelsi looked up at him, "we have a few solar panels, but nothing strong enough to charge something that big."
Jason's eyes lit up, he quickly grabbed his computer and brought up the weather in the area and his eyes lit up. "There's suppose to be a storm coming!"
The group looked at him in shock, Keith grabbed the computer from his dad and studied the map. "It says the storm is suppose to be here in few days. It should give us enough time to make something to charge black."
Daniel looked at Keith in question, "How are we suppose to charge black?"
Keith handed the computer back to his dad and glanced at Daniel, "lightning will charge black. If the storm is as strong as it's saying then hopefully there's thunder. We must prepare."
Jason nodded his head, "we will prepare, but until then everyone needs to rest up."
The group nodded their heads silently. Each lost in their own thoughts.
Pidge took a seat at the control center and let out a long sigh. He took his glasses off and rubbed his eyes tiredly.
"Everything okay Pidge?"
Pidge put his glasses back on and looked up and smiled at Lance. "Yeah, everything is fine. I thought I would give Coran a break. He's been covering controls nonstop for the past week."
Lance went to stand next to him and smiled, "I know. That old man needs to rest."
Pidge chuckled at him. "I would love to hear you tell that to him to his face."
Lance gave him a fake shudder. "I prefer not to." The two men sat there in silence. Pidge typed some commands into the controls. Lance looked at the younger man and spoke softly, "have you gotten any word from Keith?"
Pidge looked down at the controls and shook his head. "No…..nothing."
Lance let out a sad sigh. He glanced over to Pidge, "we need to find him. He needs to know he's going to be a father and he needs to marry the princess."
Pidge nodded his head, "I know Lance, but we can't do anything about it at this moment besides wait for Keith to contact us. I can't give you th…." He stopped in mid sentence and looked down at his Voltcom. He opened it and his mouth dropped. "Oh shit….."
Lance looked at him in alarm. "What?"
Pidge looked at him in fear. "You need to get the team here now!"
Never to question Pidge when he got like this, he reached forward and hit some commands and spoke into the mic. "I need all Voltron members to the Control Center now." He looked at Pidge in question. "What is it Pidge?"
Pidge pushed Lance away from the control panels and started typing in commands. Lance watched him silently.
"Lance, what's going on?"
Lance looked over his shoulder to find the Allura standing at the entrance. Lance pulled his seat for her. "Sit down your majesty." She walked over and sat down. The couple watched Pidge typing away.
She looked at Lance in question "What's going on?"
Lance shrugged his shoulders, "I have no idea, he said to call the team together and I did."
One by one the team entered the Control Room. Coran was the last to enter, he looked at the group in question. "What's going on?" Everyone shrugged back at him in response.
Pidge finally looked up the control panels. "Thank you for getting here quickly." The group gave him their undivided attention. He pushed a button on the control panel, which brought a planet on the screen.
Vince frowned at him, "why are we looking at this?"
"This is the last location Keith was last heard from," he replied. The group broke out in shock. Pidge held up his hand to silent the group. He waited till everyone was silent before. "I just received a message from Keith with coordinates in case of an emergency."
All eyes turned to Allura, not taking her eyes off the screen she spoke softly. "Everyone to their lions. Find Keith."
"You guys heard her, everyone to their lions." Lance called out.
Pidge raised the platform and everyone quickly ran to their chutes. Once everyone was through, he lowered the platform. Coran walked up to stand next to him. "How long ago did you receive this message?"
Pidge looked down at his Voltcom and looked back at him, "just a few minutes ago. But it shows that the message was typed up a week ago." He glanced at the Allura in worry.
Coran stood behind and put his hands on her shoulders and gave her support. Allura couldn't stop the tears from falling down her face. They watched the lions take to the sky. She made a silent prayer that they weren't too late.
