Chapter 14

Back at school

Before Hermione could say anything else, the screaming stopped abruptly and everyone had suddenly turned to look at the doors. There in front of the opened doors was a very good looking man and two men with white masks on their faces, who were just looking to where the staff table was.

The man was tall and had pale skin, jet black hair, and dark eyes, he had a resemblance to Harry, but you had to know what you were looking at to notice it.

Voldemort turned to look at the Slytherin table, only someone that knew him could have noticed the anger in his eyes when he saw the Slytherins.' faces, only Harry and Dumbledore noticed this, both ready for anything that could happen if Voldemort got angry enough.

"To what do we owe this lovely visit?" Albus asked Voldemort in a gentle but wary voice, he stood up from his chair in what looked like a relax and slow motion, but was a wary way, and held his wand in a manner that looked anything but menacing, but that the three guests and the three time travelers knew it was.

"Albus, I just wanted to come and greet my old and hopefully new friends." Voldemort answered him in a happy and glance around the room at everyone.

"It is always wonderful to see old students come back." Albus said in a sincere voice, he was really hopeful with this visit.

With a flick of Voldemort's wand all the Slytherins' faces were clean again.

"I see that the rivalry between the houses is still strong" Voldemort said in a calm but venomous voice.

"Is a part of this school, there has been a rivalry since the founders… as ex-students of this school we should try to make the rivalry disappear." Dumbledore answered with a sad voice. "Now Tom, we should have this conversation in my office." Dumbledore said without any twinkle in his eyes.

Both men left towards the headmaster office, while everyone else was left behind confused about who the man was though they had an idea since two death eaters had come with him. Both death eaters stood waiting for almost two hours until both the headmaster and the mysterious man came back.

"Why are you still doing inside in this lovely day?" asked Dumbledore with a smile, while today's guests left in a hurry.

2 HOURS EARLIER

Harry's POV

There in front of the opened doors was tall with pale skin, jet black hair, and dark eyes man and two other man with white masks on their faces, who were just looking to where the staff table was. This was exactly how Harry remembered Tom Riddle from when he had seen him in the chamber of secrets in his second year, only older, there was no trace of the snake like face nor the red eyes, he wasn't scary looking, you could know instantly he was powerful, but you could never guess just by looking at him what he was capable of, the fear he will inflict in everyone in less than a year, that Voldemort would someday become You-know-who. This man looked confidant, maybe a little arrogant; he looked like someone that demanded respect.

"To what do we owe this lovely visit?" Albus asked Voldemort.

"Albus." Voldemort greeted with what Harry guessed was a smile or a smirk, with this man you could never tell, in reality Harry had never seen a true smile before, so he couldn't know what this really was. "I just wanted to come and greet my old and hopefully new friends." Voldemort answered in a happy voice that made Harry grabbed his wand.

"That is Voldemort." Harry said.

"What is Voldemort doing in the school?" Hermione whispered to Harry.

"I didn't know he had come, I thought the first time Voldemort entered the school again since he tried to get a job here was in our first year." Harry answered.

"He didn't, this never happened." Hermione answered in a scared whisper "Oh no Harry, we changed the past!"

"But Dumbledore and you said we couldn't change the past." Harry said.

"We can't change our past but we can change this one, now everything we live here won't be like it should be! How are we going to learn from our past if this isn't our past anymore." Hermione began to raise her voice.

"Calm down Hermione, maybe this just wasn't recorded." Harry told her.

Harry could see in many faces a confused look, almost as if they didn't know who this man was. Could it be? Could they really not know who Voldemort was? How he looked like? How can they defend themselves and their families if they didn't know whom they were defending them from?

With a flick of Voldemort's wand all the Slytherins' faces were clean again.

That move had made Harry very nervous; a curse had been ready in his mouth.

"I see that the rivalry between the houses is still strong" Voldemort said in a calm but venomous voice.

"Is a part of this school, there has been a rivalry since the founders… as ex-students of this school we should try to make the rivalry disappear." Dumbledore answered with a sad voice. "Now Tom, we should have this conversation in my office"

Both men left towards the headmaster office, making Harry and Hermione very nervous, they weren't comfortable with the idea of Voldemort and Dumbledore alone.

"We should go after them." Harry told Hermione.

"We cant, we can't get involved." Hermione answered.

"But you just said this wasn't our past anymore, we have to go." Harry told her in an angry voice.

"And you said that maybe this just wasn't recorded, I would like to think you were right." Hermione said.

"What if you were right? Voldemort could hurt Dumbledore!" Harry said.

"We are not getting involved, we came here to observe now calm down!" Hermione whispered angrily.

"Who do you think they are?" Hermione asked Harry.

"Who?" Harry asked.

"The death eaters." Hermione answered.

"All the death eaters I know are still in school or aren't born yet." Harry answered.

Both death eaters stood waiting for almost two hours until both the headmaster and the mysterious man came back.

"Why are you still doing inside in this lovely day?" asked Dumbledore with a smile, while Voldemort and the death eaters left in a hurry.

Ron's POV

There in front of the opened doors was tall with pale skin, jet black hair, and dark eyes man and two other man with white masks on their faces, who were just looking to where the staff table was. This man looked confidant, maybe a little arrogant; he looked like someone that demanded respect.

"To what do we owe this lovely visit?" Albus asked the man.

"Albus" the man greeted with what Ron guessed was a smile. "I just wanted to come and greet my old and hopefully new friends." Voldemort answered in a happy voice.

"It is always wonderful to see old students come back." Albus said.

"Hogwarts never has guests, that man must be very important, who do you think he is?" Frank asked the other seventh year Gryffindor boys.

"No idea, I've never seen him before, but why are two death eaters behind him?" Kyle asked.

"He is a pureblood fanatic" John said.

"How can you tell?" Ron asked John.

"Easy, he looks arrogant and he keeps glancing at the Slytherin table." John answered.

"Well, he must be Dumbledore's friend." Paul said.

With a flick of Voldemort's wand all the Slytherins' faces were clean again.

"He definitely was a Slytherin." John said.

"He must be a death eater; otherwise he would come with them." Ron said.

"Why is Dumbledore letting him stay?" Paul asked.

"What if Voldemort sent him to kill us?" Frank asked.

"I see that the rivalry between the houses is still strong." Voldemort said in a calm but venomous voice.

"Maybe they came to take the Slytherins with them, to start and train them." Ron said.

"I don't think Voldemort would want everyone to know who the death eaters are, otherwise he wouldn't make them use those masks." Frank said.

"You don't know how that snake works." Ron said "I am sure he comes to take Harry and Hermione with him."

"Who?" Paul asked.

"My friends" Ron answered.

"What friends?" Paul asked.

"He must be talking about the Slytherin boy and the Hufflepuff girl." John said.

"Oh right, you weren't the only exchange student." Paul said "Why would Voldemort take them?"

"Is a part of this school, there has been a rivalry since the founders… as ex-students of this school we should try to make the rivalry disappear." Dumbledore answered with a sad voice. "Now Tom, we should have this conversation in my office." Dumbledore said.

Both men left towards the headmaster office, while everyone else was left behind confused about who the man.

"I don't like him." Frank said.

"We should follow them." Ron said.

"I think the professors would notice if we leave." Paul said.

Both death eaters stood waiting for almost two hours until both the headmaster and the mysterious man came back.

"Why are you still doing inside in this lovely day?" asked Dumbledore with a smile, while the three man left in a hurry.

Dumbledore's office

Dumbledore's POV

"Have a sit Tom." Dumbledore asked the man in front of him. The man sat down and neither of them said anything for a couple of minutes.

"To what do I owe your visit Tom?" Dumbledore asked.

Voldemort smiled before answering. "Albus, I am sure you know I am not Tom anymore, my name is Voldemort now." he answered.

"I've heard about that, and you can't know how sad that makes me, but you will always be Tom Riddle to me." Dumbledore answered in a sad voice.

The smile on Voldemort's face disappeared. "I am sorry to say this isn't a social visit Dumbledore." Voldemort answered.

"I thought this wouldn't be a social visit, but I could hope it was." Dumbledore said in a calm and friendly voice.

"I've read the daily prophet, and I am sad to see that everyone is making me look as a dark wizard that its only goal is to kill." Voldemort said.

"I've read the daily prophet also, and it makes me sad every time to see what you've being doing all this time." Dumbledore said.

"But that is not true Albus," Voldemort smiled again "I am a dark wizard, but dark and evil aren't the same thing, and my goal isn't to kill, all this time I've been doing research and I've discovered that magic is now almost non existent in comparison with when the founders were alive, and the only difference between now and then are muggleborns." Voldemort said.

"And what are you proposing?" Dumbledore asked.

"We should get rid of the muggleborns and prohibit marriage between muggles and wizards." Voldemort answered.

"How do you plan to get rid of them?" Dumbledore asked.

"We could erase their memory and take their magic." Voldemort said.

"I think you are forgetting that sometimes muggleborns are more powerful than purebloods Tom, there is a sixth year girl right now, who is very well the most intelligent and powerful witch that has come through this school in a very long time." Dumbledore said "You were the most powerful and intelligent student yourself, and your father was a muggle"

"My name is Voldemort, and I don't have a father." Voldemort lost his smile again.

"I heard about that, and I am very sorry Tom, I am sure Tom Sr. was a very good man." Dumbledore said.

"I didn't come here to talk about him." Voldemort said.

"Of course, I am sorry, so you are here to tell me you aren't evil?" Dumbledore asked.

"I am here to explain to you how everything really is and to make you understand so you can be part of this." Voldemort said trying to put back a smile, but not really being able to.

"I don't believe we should get rid of muggles Tom, I love muggles, and they make the best candy." Dumbledore answered while putting a lemon drop on his mouth "You want a lemon drop? They are really good." Dumbledore asked.

Voldemort ignored the candy and stood up. "I am sorry to hear that Albus, than I better be going." Voldemort said.
