Dawn was helping a customer in the dressing room area when her manager came up to her.

"Dawn?" The manager said.

"How can I help you, Mrs. Nemus?" Dawn asked after telling the customer to give her a minute.

"There's someone here to see you." Mrs. Nemus motioned to a police officer waiting by the front door. "Don't be alarmed. You're not in trouble. She's just here to talk to you. You can go for today."

Dawn nodded, praying this wasn't about Ash or May. She walked over to the police officer.

"Hello. I'm Dawn. Can I help you?" Dawn asked nervously.

"Hello, Dawn. I'm Officer Evans. I just have some questions I'd like to ask you. However, I'd prefer we do this in a more private setting. Would you be willing to walk back to the police station with me?"

Dawn gulped and followed her out of the store and down the street to the police station. She didn't see Max turn and notice her as she walked by.

Inside an office in the police station, Dawn and Officer Evans sat down across from each other.

"Dawn, I wanted to ask you about a former coworker of yours. Her name is May." Officer Evans said.

"What about her? She only worked there for about a month before she unexpectedly quit." Dawn asked.

"May was recently convicted in Unova along with a boy with an abnormally powerful Pikachu."

"A Pikachu?" Dawn asked. "Aren't those supposed to be kind of weak pokemon?"

"The Pikachu was the reason for the conviction. The officer who tried to confiscate it reported it to be Level 558, a level that cannot be reached by any non-legendary pokemon in a lifetime." Officer Evans told her. "May was convicted by association with the boy. They registered themselves and their pokemon together a few weeks before the incident. The boy acted strange when confronted and later destroyed his and May's trainer cards and pokedexes before they fled together to an unknown location."

"What was his name?" Dawn asked, wanting to confirm her thought pattern.

"He was going by the name Ash." Officer Evans replied.

Dawn nodded. "So why come to me for something that happened in Unova? I'm surprised the Pallet Town police are even involved in such a case."

"Dawn, how well do you know May?" Officer Evans asked.

Dawn hesitated. "If I answer honestly, will I be able to receive more information?"

"It depends on your answer." Officer Evans replied.

"She's one of my best friends." Dawn admitted. "Why do you ask?"

"Let me show you something, Dawn." Officer Evans picked up an electronic pad and pulled something up. She showed it to Dawn. "These are the findings of a database search earlier today. The search connected your registration recently with a disappearance five hundred years ago."

Dawn examined the data. She was sincerely worried when she saw the data connected her and May and Ash to the rest of their group. The only one missing was Aaron, Ash's father.

"Where are you going with this?" The girl asked.

"The league ordered us to find out the link between May and Ash along with any others that may be connected to them." Officer Evans informed her. "So far, we have not reported the findings to them, but it is only a matter of time before they find out."

"What are you saying?" Dawn was scared now.

"May helped us rescue the legendries. So now, we're helping her by warning you. The league will take you into custody once they find this information. You need to destroy your trainer cards and pokedexes before the red flag goes up and get out of the multi-region system before you're found. Tell your friends. Quit your jobs and leave immediately."

"Where can we go?" Dawn asked.

"There is one region that is out of the system. This info booklet tells you which regions are in the system. It should help you figure out which one isn't." Officer Evans said. "We'll try to give you two weeks before relaying the findings. If they come sooner, we'll have to hand it over sooner. Do you understand?"

"Quit our jobs. Destroy our cards and pokedexes. Leave the system as swiftly as possible. Got it." Dawn said, standing up. "Thank you, Officer Evans. We really appreciate your help."

"Now go! Hurry!" Officer Evans hissed.

Dawn found her way out of the police station quickly. Max, Delia, and Aaron were waiting outside.

"So Max was right." Delia said. "Are you in trouble?"

"No time to explain. Split up and grab everybody in our group. Get them to quit their jobs. Meet outside the restaurant where Misty and Brock work as soon as possible. I'll explain then." Dawn said, running off.

"Okay?" Aaron and Delia exchanged glances while Max stared after Dawn.

"Aaron, grab Tracey. Max, grab Misty and Brock. I'll grab Iris and Cilan." Delia said. "Let's hurry."

"Right!" Aaron and Max responded, taking off in different directions.

Approximately twenty minutes later, the group met up in front of Brock and Misty's former workplace.

"What's the big deal, Dawn?" Misty asked.

"I have to admit I enjoyed working." Iris added.

"Come on. We're leaving Pallet Town." Dawn said.

"Why?" Max asked.

"I'll explain on the ground, where there's less people." Dawn replied.

"How do we get there?" Brock asked.

"We have enough to buy some hover boards now." Aaron pointed out. "Let's get them quick so we can get an explanation."

They bought themselves some hover boards and, after getting the hang of them, traveled down to the ground below Pallet Town.

"Explanation?"

"A police officer told me we had to get out of the multi-region system before we get flagged and the league comes after us." Dawn said.

"Why would the league come after us?" Brock asked. "We haven't exactly done anything wrong."

"Incrimination by association." Dawn replied. "Because we know someone who recently went off the charts."

"Who?" Delia asked.

"Doesn't matter. Give me all the trainer cards and pokedexes. The officer said we had to destroy them." Dawn said.

"You're joking, right?" Misty asked.

"No! I'm not!" Dawn said. "Do you want to be taken into custody?"

"Well, no, but…" Misty said.

"You have to trust me, guys. Please." Dawn looked about to burst into tears. She pulled out her trainer card and pokedex and put them on the ground.

One by one, the others placed their trainer cards and pokedexes in the pile Dawn had started.

Misty was the last to do so. "I swear, Dawn, if this is some joke…"

"Mamoswine! Use Hidden Power and Ice Shard on that pile!" Dawn cried.

The pile exploded once hit with Mamoswine's attacks.

"Hover boards! We've got to get out of here!" Dawn added as the group recovered from the blast.

Deciding not to ask any more questions, the group obeyed her and they flew away from the rubble that was once their connection to the system.
