Chapter 14
Finny sat on Bard's lap, his face hidden to the nook of his neck, shivering slightly. The doctors had tried to get Finny out of the man, offered him a bed instead, but Finny was too stubborn to let go. Not that Bard minded though, it felt awfully good to have his friend in his lap like that.
"Finny, this is the last test, okay?" A blond-haired doctor said and took out a needle. The man smiled nicely to Finny and Bard, though neither of them paid him attention, and pushed the needle to Finny's hand to take some of his blood. Finny winched a little but didn't move much until the doctor told him it was fine.
"Okay, so now for the hardest part", the doctor mumbled before smiling gently to Finny. "Now I need you to get up the bed."
Finny winched at him and hugged Bard tighter, afraid to let go.
"Don't worry, you don't need to let go of him. You just need to lie down, okay?"
Finny shook his head rapidly.
"Finny, please, do this and it will be all over, right?" Bard glanced at the doctor to assure his words.
"Yes. After this you can rest."
For a few minutes Finny did nothing, only continued to hug Bard tightly though Bard tried to push him away gently. Eventually they decided that it was best to carry Finny to the examination table so that they could continue the examination. When Finny lied on the bed, still hugging Bard, the doctor put a white sheet over his legs.
"I need you to spread your legs honey", the man said.
"No!" Finny screamed and squeezed Bard even harder, shivering uncontrollably. "Don't you touch me!"
"Finny, it's fine", Bard promised. "He won't hurt you."
"No!"
"Finny-"
"No! He can't touch me!"
Bard sighed and looked at the doctor, hopeless.
"Would it be better if it was a female who examined you?"
To Bard's great surprise, Finny nodded.
"Fine then, I'll get someone here. We'll see after the examination is over."
The doctor saluted and walked out the room, leaving Bard and Finny alone for a second before a nurse entered.
"Hello there", a brown-haired woman greeted, smiling widely at them. "My name is Paula, and I'll be doing the examination on you."
Finny nodded against Bard's neck and relaxed a little. The woman moved softly, gently moving his hands on Finny's legs, removing his pants before spreading his legs wider. All the time Paula did her job, Finny bit on his lower lip, his eyes screwed closed and shivering strongly.
"I need you to relax, otherwise this might be more uncomfortable", Paula informed. Finny made an attempt to relax but immediately when the woman touched him again, he tensed up and started quivering.
"Just a few more seconds", Paula said from under the cover and the very next second she was up and removed her gloves. "Doctor will see you right away", she informed and left the room to let the doctor in. They changed a few words, the doctor's expression darkened for a second before he smiled again and entered the room.
"So then Finny", he took a chair and sat next to the bed. "Do you mind telling me what happened?"
"No", Finny shook his head, edging away from the man.
"You need to tell me who did this."
"No."
"Excuse me, but what exactly happened to him?" Bard asked, fearing for the worst but hoping he was wrong.
"Finny, you need to tell us if you wanted it, or if they took you by force."
Bard shuddered and pushed Finny closer to his body, unconsciously tightening his grip. It couldn't be…
"Did you want it or not?" The doctor asked again. Finny sat still for a long moment, and then just slightly shook his head.
"You do know that we need to inform the police?" The doctor asked. Finny nodded. The doctor let out a sigh and stood up, looking at Bard with serious expression before moved to the door.
"You can stay in this for as long as you need. When you are ready to leave, please come and visit me. You don't need to worry about the time."
After the doctor was gone, Finny broke down to silent sobs, and Bard had no idea what to do, so he only hugged Finny tighter while trying to absorb of what had happened to him. The doctor hadn't used the word, which of Bard was grateful for, but it still didn't delete the fact that Finny had been raped. The mere thought of someone forcefully taking his pure friend… It was unforgiving! If he ever saw Alois again, he would make sure he suffered from something worse!
"I'm sorry", Finny whispered and pulled away, for the first time in hours.
"You have nothing to apologize for."
"Yes I do. I'm so sorry, I wanted you to be my first", Finny blurted out before he even realized what he was saying. When he did, he clasped a hand over his mouth and nearly jumped away from Bard. "Sorry! Pretend that you never heard that!"
"What… did you just say?"
"Nothing! Really, it was nothing!"
"You say you want to… sleep with me?"
"Seriously, it was nothing", Finny laughed nervously, making sure he moved away from Bard so that they didn't touch anymore. "Just a joke, haha."
"Finny-"
"Just leave it, Bard", Finny looked at the floor, his face red as a tomato, shoulders hunched and legs curled against his chest, like he tried to protect himself from what was happening. The sad figure of his friend made Bard's chest clench painfully and he lifted his hand to touch Finny's shoulder, only to stop a few flinch away from him.
"Finny, really, it's fine", Bard sighed, moving a bit closer to the boy, glad that he didn't immediately flinch away. "I appreciate your feelings, I really do."
"Don't do this, not now. I've had a shitty day as it is."
"Let me finish, please. I mean… I don't know what I mean actually, but I know how you feel about me. I do, and I like it a lot, but I don't-"
"Bard, please", Finny turned to him, his eyes watery from unshed tears. "You don't need to explain yourself to me. I already know that this isn't going to work. I'm-mmph!"
Finny's words were cut off by a pair of softest lips he had ever felt. A first he was too shocked to even breathe, having Bard suddenly so close, but soon a tingling feeling spread across his whole body, making him moan in delight against Bard's lips.
Bard leaned in closer, touching Finny's lips with his tongue, asking for access that Finny soon granted. Their tongues caressed each other, taking time in exploring and tasting each other. When Bard's hand landed on Finny's neck and pulled the boy closer, Finny was a goner and could only moan and try to keep his thoughts together. Bard didn't pull away until they were both gasping for breath, foreheads pressed together as they evened their breathing.
"Don't you say this won't work", Bard whispered and pecked Finny's lips once more.
"But… What about your girlfriend?"
"Mey-Rin? Well, turned out she was cheating me… with a girl. So I'd say that's kind of fruitless now."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"Don't be. Now I can spend all my time with you", Bard smiled. "Just, give me time to collect my thoughts, okay? This is… kind of new to me. I promise, I won't leave you, but just…"
"Bard", Finny grabbed Bard's face to his hands and gave him a longing kiss. "It's fine. I will give you time. I've waited for years, a couple of weeks won't be that hard."
"Thank you, Finny", Bard kissed his new boyfriend again, the kiss filled with promises of their future together.
XOXOXOXOXOX
Sebastian paced outside the examination room. The doctor had left a wile ago, but Finny and Bard hadn't still come out. It made him worry. That they still weren't out, could only mean that Finny was hurt way more than they had thought. It also meant, that they had underestimated Alois' power. If Finny was so bad hurt, then Ciel… Sebastian groaned and fastened his steps. They still knew nothing about Ciel, and it had been over an hour already.
The front doors opened with a loud bang and people rushed in, but Sebastian barely paid any notice on them. After all, they were in a hospital, people came and went. He had stopped staring at the patients minutes ago, but somehow this particular person got his attention after a second. It was a small boy, barely seven years old, white as a sheet, eyes open and foam dropping from his mouth. His parents rushed next to him, the mother crying uncontrollably while the father looked more annoyed than worried. The doctors and nurses ran next to him and guided him to a emergency room
The image brought painful memories to Sebastian. He could almost see Claude on the stretchers, white as a sheet, eyes hollow, dead… It had been an overdose, and it was completely Sebastian's fault. If he only had paid more attention on Claude, maybe the man hadn't died. If he only had seen the depression, the anxiety, all the cutting, it would have been fine. But no, he hadn't noticed it. He had only lived in his little perfect world where nothing was wrong, where Claude had been happy, healthy, and fine. And now, with Ciel, he felt like he experienced it all over again.
"Make way, coming through!" Paramedics once again rushed in, this time looking very worried. Sebastian quickly glanced at them before his eyes widened and his body stiffed. No. It couldn't be. On the stretchers, lied Ciel, covered in blood, unconscious, and one of the paramedics sitting on him, pressing at his chest.
"Ciel?"
Sebastian barely recognized he was moving toward the boy before a small nurse pushed him away.
"Sir, please, you can't go in there."
"No, you don't understand! I need to see him!" Sebastian pushed against the nurse but she was awfully strong for her size. He kept pushing against her until two police officers came to him and pulled him away.
"Sir, come with us please."
"No, I need to see him! I need to know he's alright!"
"We will do everything we can to save him", the nurse assured before rushing in to the room. Sebastian saw only a glimpse of Ciel, but it was enough to make his legs go jelly. Ciel was lying on the table, his shirt cut off, and chest all bloodied. His ankle was twisted in an odd angle, and his face was full with bruises.
"Ciel!" Sebastian cried out, knowing it couldn't do anything for him, but feeling it was what he needed to do. The police men grabbed Sebastian by the shoulders and guided him away to an empty, white room with a table and four chairs. They lead Sebastian to one of the chairs and then sat across him, taking out a pad and a pen.
"So, I assume you know the man that just came in?"
Sebastian nodded, not finding any power to speak, his mind playing the broken figure of Ciel over and over again.
"What's your name?"
"Sebastian Michaelis", his voice was hollow and quiet.
"Age?"
"25"
"Do you know the man that just came here?"
"Yes. He's my boyfriend, Ciel Phantomhive."
"And he thinks so too?"
"What kind of a question is that?" Sebastian blinked and looked at the police, not believing his ears "Of course he does!"
"Have you abused him in any way?"
"No, I would never hurt him!" Sebastian nearly jumped up the chair but knew better. Instead, he only fisted his hands and grabbed his jeans to get a hold of something.
"Look mister, we have evidence that he has been abused for years, so I suggest you tell us the truth"
"I haven't done anything to him. His ex-boyfriend did."
"Really now?"
"It was Alois. I was the one to help Ciel out from him", Sebastian took a shaking breath. Now they thought that he hurt Ciel? This couldn't get any worse. For his great comfort, the police man relaxed seemingly and continued with an almost-smile.
"Sorry, I had to ask that. This Alois was his boyfriend? For how long?"
"I don't know. Maybe four-five years."
"How long has the abuse continued?"
"That you'll have to ask from Ciel."
"How long do you think it has lasted"?
"Possibly a year or two."
"And no one ever knew?"
"Ciel is very good at hiding his discomfort. He's only worried bout the people around him, doesn't want them to know his weaknesses."
"I see."
"Look, how is Ciel? Do you think I can go and see him now?"
"I'm afraid not. He needs to go to a surgery, and it might last for a long time. So now, I'd like to ask you everything you know about this situation."
"He got a message from Alois that Finny, his best friend, was in his control, and would possibly die. Finny is in this hospital right now, you can ask him too. But yeah, Ciel went to see Alois while I and Bard waited for him downstairs. After a few minutes a man dressed in black came to us and told us to leave or Ciel would be in danger. We left and the next time I heard from Ciel was here."
"So you have no idea why he jumped out of a balcony?"
Sebastian's heart dropped. "What?"
"Do you think he was trying to end his life or not?"
"…No. I don't think he wants to end it. Not anymore." I hope, Sebastian added, his hear clenching in pain when he though about the possibility. Would Ciel really…
"Okay. You can go now, we will contact you if we have something to ask."
Sebastian nodded and the police moved to leave when Sebastian stopped them by asking: "Did you get him?"
"Who?"
"Alois?"
"There was no-one on the apartment when we got there", the police man said and walked out the room.
Sebastian sat in place for what felt like hours. He was too numb to feel anything, or actually tried to convince that everything had been a dream. Ciel wasn't dying, he hadn't tried to kill himself, and Alois did not walk out of it without any consequences.
-To Be Continued-
