AN: I own nothing.

Sorry for the wait. Family drama, while sometimes entertaining, can be a real downer.

Enjoy!

Remus and Tonks were alive and well, standing in front of the trio.

"We heard you two were back." Remus said.

"Wotcher, guys!" Tonks said in her usual cheery voice.

Harry and Ron both had tears running down their faces. The last time they had seen the two was after the battle, when their bodies were lying with the other fallen witches and wizards.

"Wha..how..huh..what's.." Harry stuttered.

"Aren't you boys gonna say hello?" Remus asked in a teasing voice.

At that, Harry ran towards him, jumping on him. He couldn't help himself. More tears were streaming down his face, but he didn't care. After a few moments, he let go of Remus and hugged Tonks just as tight.

"Bloody hell! How are you here?" Ron asked.

Remus and Tonks both looked at Hermione. "You haven't explained to them yet?" Remus asked.

"No, sorry. I was just about to, though."

"Oh, well. We'll just be going, then. Just popped in to tell you we were back and that you won't have to watch Teddy tomorrow." Tonks said.

"Boys, we'll catch up later, yeah? We'll have you over soon for dinner. Sorry we're not staying, but we don't care to hear this again. Bye." Remus said after hugging Hermione.

A few minutes of awkwardness lingered after the two left. The air in the living room was very thick with the tension. Hermione could see the boys confusion, and a bit of anger, on their faces.

"Mione? Would you like to explain that?" Harry asked in a voice that suggested she didn't have a choice.

"Um..okay." Hermione said. Clearing her throat, she said, "Let's sit first."

After the three were seated, Hermione cleared her throat again. "You remember how Andromeda was going to have a private funeral for them, then a big memorial party later?" she started.

Harry and Ron both nodded.

"Okay, well, she did. Now, I'm telling you exactly as she described it to me. There she was, and there was Baby Teddy on her lap. Remus and Tonks were laid out in front of them on concrete slabs. She was planning on having them encased in a mausoleum. Tonks had a fear of being buried in the ground."

"Then how were they just standing here in your living room?" Ron asked, making Hermione roll her eyes.

"If you would shut it and listen, I'll tell you." she huffed. "So, then there was the funeral wizard. He was doing the burial rights, when Andi noticed he had stopped and was looking a bit too closely at Remus. Well, she thought he had wanted to see a werewolf up close when he couldn't hurt him. She's getting ready to give him what-for, you know, for being disrespectful, when she hears him gasp. Turns out, he had seen Remus' hand twitch, so he stopped to watch for a second to see if it happened again. And, it did. So, Andi and the wizard took them both to St. Mungo's, where it was discovered they were both just in a very deep sleep. Andi didn't tell anyone in case they never woke up. They didn't wake up until October." Hermione said.

"So, by that time, we were already gone, and had no way of knowing." Harry said sadly.

"Yes. But on the bright side, you guys get to feel what we all felt when we found out. That happy, relieved, can't-decide-if-you-wanna-laugh-or-cry kinda feeling." Hermione said, trying to make them feel better. Looking at Ron, she said, "That same feeling we got the first time Fred pranked us after his injury."

Harry and Ron were both still in tears. To know that Remus and Tonks were alive, and had been this whole time, was indeed both a happy and sad occasion. But, it was like Hermione said. They both had that feeling she described. It was both wonderful and a bit depressing.

Deciding to change the subject, Ron asked, "Where've they been? And, why would you have Teddy tomorrow?"

"Remus took Tonks to the Bahamas for their second honeymoon. And, I would have Teddy in case they weren't back because A-it's Andromeda's night to volunteer at Mungo's, and B-I'm Teddy's godmother. So, I'm second on the list of babysitters." Hermione said proudly.

Wait. You're his godmother? Since when?" Harry asked. As far as he knew, he was Teddy's only godparent.

"Since always." Hermione said, looking at him like he had grown a second head. "Remus told me the same night he told you."

"Wow! I didn't know that." he said.

"Well, while you two sit here, I'm gonna go change for work. Be back in a few minutes." Hermione said, and left the room.

"Blimey, Harry. Quite the shock, huh?" Ron asked.

"Yeah. You could say that, mate." Harry said in a dazed voice. Neither of them felt the need to talk after that.

Hermione came back down the stairs about an hour later. She had showered, done her hair and makeup, and gotten dressed for the evening. The house was quiet, so she thought the boys had left. She was surprised when they were still sitting on the sofa, looking dazed.

"Harry? Ron?" she called.

Harry and Ron looked up at her, and their jaws almost dropped. Hermione was wearing a black skirt that fell to just above her knees, a white tank top with a sheer white button up shirt over that, tucked into her skirt, a pair of black pantyhose and black heels. Her hair was falling around her in smooth, glossy curls, and she had light makeup on. She completed the look with just diamond earrings and her wedding ring.

"Um, guys? Are you ready to go? I can drop you off at the Weasley's flat. I have to be at work in about three hours, and it takes two to get there. So, we need to go." Hermione said.

Both boys looked slightly saddened about parting so early. Hermione took pity on them. "Tell you what. After I drop you guys off, why don't you change into something nicer, and you're welcome to come to the restaurant. Okay?" she asked in a soft voice.

"Yeah, okay, Mione." Ron answered. "Wait. What restaurant?"

"The French restaurant in Diagon Alley, Ron." she said, rolling her eyes again. "Honestly!"

"Well, alright then." Ron said. "I'm callin' shotgun!" he yelled, running toward the car, making Harry and Hermione laugh.

PLEASE REVIEW.

I HOPE I GAVE YOU GUYS AN ACCEPTABLE REASON REMUS AND TONKS WERE ALIVE.

AS FOR THE MEMORIAL PARTY, THAT'S HOW MY BEST FRIEND'S HUSBAND HAD HIS SISTER'S MEMORIAL. THAT WOMAN HATED FUNERALS, AND PREFERRED IF PEOPLE PARTIED IN HER HONOR INSTEAD OF A BORING FUNERAL. SO, I USED THAT IDEA FOR REMUS AND TONKS. SEEMS TO ME IT WOULD BE FITTING.

THANKS FOR YOUR FOLLOWS, FAVORITES AND REVIEWS.
