X-Dragons
Another Chapter. Thanks for the reviews so far. Keep them coming. I've had a few account problems recently and it's not going to be fixed right away. I can update chapters but I don't know what else to do.
Chapter 14: Web Head
Gohan stood atop of the Empire State Building, his white cape flowing with the wind attached to the weighted paddler. He was waiting. For what? Now, that was an answer that could only be shown. And it showed up with a classic smoke trace. Nightcrawler had materialised all the way from Queens to the highest part of Manhattan.
"I did it!" Kurt said with a smile. He thought he couldn't teleport more than two miles. But Gohan proved him wrong. He could teleport anywhere, as long as he had enough will to do so. Well, not that far yet, but it was only a matter of time before that was an available option.
"Told you could it" The alien teacher smiled. Kurt also smiled. When Gohan placed trust on you, then you should feel proud. Anytime the X leader put you under training, then you would improve outstandingly. If your muscles did not burn out of your body first.
Of course, Kurt was just the first case. The Saiyan's training was pushing the entire team beyond their limits. Not that Logan's or Ororo's didn't work, but his own had much more than simple physical exercise. Professor agreed about it, along with Wolverine and Storm, who were now students of their student, a bit ironic when one thought it that way. Logan seemed to be the most eager one in learning a few of Gohan's tricks. Apparently he realised how useless he had been for the last few missions. And Sabertooth would get a big surprise the next time they fought.
But that was out of point. Right now, Gohan and Kurt were in teleporting training. And not only Nightcrawler was. After weeks of failed tries, the half Saiyan had managed to copy his father's teleporting technique. It still had to be trained a bit more, but that would only happen in time and by teleporting continuously.
"Alright Kurt, let's make this funnier" Gohan proposed. Kurt rose an eyebrow "A race"
"Then you are going to lose" The blue furred mutant said overconfident. But as he disappeared in a trace of smoke, so did Gohan, the air shimmering around the Saiyan's body. Both reappeared a few blocks away, still in front of each other.
"Wait, now you can teleport too?" Nightcrawler asked in shock.
"Surprised?" The X-Men leader said taunting like a friend with Kurt. The blue furry mutant teleported again, but so did his leader. Both went on and on, reappearing and disappearing all over the city, sometimes atop of a building or beneath the streets in the sewers, though a few times in the middle of the road. Luckily, they were moving so fast that passing-by people could not catch a concrete image of them. Simple blurs in a place and then on another.
Just as the two X-Men were on their training game excercise, a red and blue figure was swinging through the buildings of New York city, using a special designed stick polymer from his wristband shooters, that imitated the same attributes as spiderweb. Not hard to realise who he was.
Standing six feet tall, a black spider on his chest and his eyes covered in white, The friendly neighbourhood Spider Man swing inside his home city of New York. Young Peter Parker had been just fifteen years old, when a lab accident involving a radioactively enhanced spider bit him, granting him with the proportional powers of an arachnid. Strength, speed, reflexes. Even a 'spider sense' that could warn him of any incoming dangers even when he couldn't see them or was simple unaware of being in a hazard situation.
The arachnid man was swinging over a building, when a purple blur appeared out of nowhere in front of him. Peter's back head started tingling, his life-saving Spider Sense always warning him two steps ahead of any threat, no matter how fast or powerful it was. With little seconds, Spiderman dodged the sudden thing in front of him with a somersault jump. Peter attached himself into a wall, using his fingers and toes, capable of altering the electrostatic attraction on the atoms.
Out of danger, the arachnid man saw the interruption in his swing. The blur was a boy with long black hair in locks and a purple Karate outfit.
"That was a close one" Peter said, standing gravityless on a wall, upside down.
"You don't say?" Gohan's turn now to retort the sudden man or kid in front of him. His energy felt weird. Not human but not mutant either "Who are you?" The Saiyan asked intrigued.
"You haven't heard of me? I'm so hurt" The spider-dressed man faked sadness, bringing a hand to his heart. Gohan sweat drop, the Spider guy jumped in front of him "Just kidding. Friendly neighbour Spider Man at your service" He offered his hand and the alien shook it.
"Saiyan" Gohan introduced himself to the also hero of New York "So you are a hero too?"
"I'm not going to a Halloween party so I don't see any other option left" the red and blue heroe commented again with a joke.
"Hey Gohan, what's taking so long?" Kurt suddenly teleported with a smoke trace. His eyes widen in surprise "Spiderman!"
"See, that's a true fan" Spider said to Gohan with a not well-faked mock "And who are you, elf boy?"
"Nightcrawler" The mutant presented himself, shaking hands with a famous heroe.
"Nightcrawler and Saiyan" Spiderman said, looking at the two intruders. He wasn't surprised at all by Kurt's fur. He was a spider guy that faced super villains on regular basis and had a few allies with every known power, what else could be friekier? Well, this situation wasn't "The new heroes that want my job? Because a time-out would be cool for me"
"Sorry to disappoint you Spidey, we are just going through some teleporting exercises" Saiyan said, referring to Kurt and himself. A sudden alarm flared on the buildings below, and some cars started exploding.
"Sorry guys, time to swing" Peter said, and dropped down from the top of the building.
"Can we go see him?" Kurt asked his leader.
"It's not our place Kurt" Gohan replied. This was Spiderman's business, not them. Of course, he might need help. "Fine, we go there, but we only intervene if he does need help" Kurt agreed.
A giant grey-skinned man was tossing police cars aside, bullets bouncing off him leaving no mark behind in his impenetrable hide. The man was standing seven or eight feet tall, his forehead framed with a sharp horn. But before he could tose another car, a sudden web attached to his face, clouding his sight.
"Come on O'Hirn, how many times do we have to do this?" Spider taunted the giant Alex O'Hirn or Rhino as he went now. Even after years of clear strength advantage for Alex, he had always lost against the Web head.
"I'm from Jersey, I'm no quitter" the giant rhino man said proudly.
"Oh, I know what Jersey is" Peter thought, trying not to remember the place. His spider sense suddenly went off "That's weird. My spider sense doesn't work if the bad guy is in front of me" His thoughts cost him dear, when an electric shock sent him sprawling forward, right into Rhino, who backhanded him away towards a building and crashing the spider inside a toy store.
The spider heroe walked out, a bit shaky in the legs and saw his now two enemies.
"Hi Max, long time no sees" Spider said to his electric enemy. Dressed in a electric-proof dark green suit, his head yellow living electricity with electric blue eyes and spiky lightnings as hair, Maxwell Dillon or Electro, was going to pay Spider Man back for putting him in jail.
"I'm Electro!" Max blurted out, firing a yellow bolt. Spider jumped to a side and dodged nimbly, though he was now over a sewer entrance.
"Why do you keep saying it? you know I never hear you" Spider said with an obvious mocking, though his spider sense went off again "This thing must be broken or something" His slow reflexes caused Spidey to be suddenly pushed up to the sky by a water geyser coming from the underground. The spider heroe crashed against the ground hard, his senses railing.
"Did anyone see the train?" Peter said, trying to keep humor when there was none. The water started shifting into a human body. He was dressed in a dark blue outfit with especial gauntlets. Morris Bench, or Hydro Man as he went now, was smirking like never before.
"Oh great, now let's see" Spider pointed to Hydro Man "We have the water bender" he pointed to Electro "The lightning bender" He pointed to Rhino "And Rhino" The grey man growled "Great, whose next?"
"Us!" two voice said, attacking the Spider Man. An concussive air shock wave hit Spidey from behind, sending him forward, only for a fireball to clash against him like a wall of bricks, sending the wall climber against a light post, which bended under the strain. Spidey rose back, his red outfit burned and cut in a few places.
The new figures appeared out of the shadows. One dressed in a red/yellow outfit, with sonic gauntlets on the wrists. The other was only dressed with boxers, because his entire body was covered in orange fire, even his eyes. The new arrivers were Shocker and Molten Man.
"Me and my big mouth" Peter said, knowing he was pretty much outnumbered. Five on one, yes that was outnumbered in any part of Earth or the universe. Or a more accurate term, screwed.
"Say hello to the Sinister Five!" The entire villains rooster yelled.
The two X-Men watched everything develop with interest in Gohan's eyes, and amazement in Kurt's.
"Man, I thought Spiderman was a hero, but taking five on one, that's a suicide heroe!" Kurt blurted out, watching everything alongside his team leader from a shorter building. Nightcrawler looked at the white-capped teenager from another unvierse. "Should we help him now?"
"Not yet. Let's see how he handles them" The demi-Saiyan simply said, wanting to know about the spider hero's abilities. He was a big talker, that was for sure, but in Gohan's eyes, taunting the enemy into an angered state could make a lot of difference for victory or defeat.
Spidey jumped up a few meters, dodging a combined attack from Shocker and Molten Man. Electro tried to fried his spider enemy with his lightnings, but Peter fired his web and swung out-of-the-way. Rhino started running after his web enemy, though Peter would not touch ground with the giant in tow. The red-dressed heroe kept eluding the long-range attacks from fire and lightning, the alarm on his brain called Spider Sense directing him away from the dangers.
Hydro Man suddenly turned himself into water and slipped into the sewers. Now beneath the street, the water-powered man gathered it around him into a giant construct. Peter's spider sense was too late that time, a giant aqua burst erupting from the concrete up into him. The wall crawler was pushed with a blow equal to a fright train, throwing him through an office building. As soon as he landed Rhino appeared in front of him after running though the building like a tank, his body tackling the spider heroe hard against a bus that bent inwards. The arachnid shook his head to see O'Hirn charging again.
The spider fired his webs and slingshoted himself up, Rhino crashing the bus in his horn. Yet that elution brought Peter right into his enemy, Electro charging a deadly sphere on his hand, floating thanks to his electromagnetic powers. The thousands of volts hit Peter dead on, as he yelled in pain and fell hard to the ground.
Shocker and Molten Man were already there to finish the fight with a combined blasting performance.
"Now?" Kurt asked worried. The spider was falling and falling. Yet the half alien remained looking, calculating extremely precise.
"Now!" Gohan yelled. The mutant and the alien used their teleporting powers to fastly get into the fray.
Saiyan appeared right in front of the two energy rogues of Spiderman, landing ki spheres that took them by utter surprise. They were pushed backwards right into a dark alley, the energy used as powerful as a crashing tank. They were all out cold.
The elf mutant teleported next to the falling arachnid and then teleported again, now into the street and placing the New York hero resting in the concrete.
"Spiderman, are you okay?" Kurt shocked the man's shoulder but got no immediate response.
The red and blue hero shot his hand forward firing a web ball into Rhino's unprotected face. The fluid halted the villain's sight allowing Nightcrawler to teleport himself and Peter away.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Just the normal Friday to me" The heroe replied, half-joking.
"I know the feeling" Kurt responded also joking. The purple-dressed alien teleported right next to them.
"Thanks for the help" Peter said, rubbing his left shoulder.
"Thank us after we take the fools down" Saiyan said serious, the four remaining enemies surrounding them.
"You think you two can handle the over-sized turtle?" Gohan asked his friends about the rhinoceros person.
"Too easy kid" The Spider replied. The heroes splitted.
The two heros teamed up against the giant tank-like superhuman. The grey-skinned villain started flinging cars into their enemies, who only kept moving on the building's surface away from the incoming vehicles.
"Nightcrawler, I distract, you teleport" Spiderman said.
"Where?" The elf mutant asked.
"Up!" The wall crawler said smiling behind his mask, suddenly swinging with webs "Hey hippo, you want some grapes?!" The spider taunted with some malice, swinging around in circles. The spider shot his left hand forward, firing web balls while going around. They, however, only bounced away from his enemy's though hide.
The New York heroe started moving away, the Rhino keeping tracks from the ground. Peter also kept firing web balls that were little annoyances to the more powerful animal man.
"You think that can stop me?" The Rhino said with a winner smirk.
"Who said I was stopping you?" Peter said, landing in the street. He leaned his body next to an oil truck "I was just dragging you here so you could fall from the atmosphere inside this tank and boom"
"That was actually a funny joke, puny spider!" O'Hirn commented folding his arms with laughter "But don't think I will simply fall in your trap!" Kurt suddenly teleported behind him and grabbing his horn, the mutant teleported away, now up as high as a skyscraper. He disappeared, leaving the giant turtle to experience the gravity.
"I hate heroes" The Rhino simply commented before falling right into the oil truck and explode with the power of many grenades. The two heroes were already away before the explosion so non of them was harmed.
"Now that's a fall in disgrace" The spider heroe joked. Nightcrawler laughed by it, until the rumble came. The streets shook, as the Rhino again charged into his preys not even scratched from the explosion. Nightcrawler teleported and Spiderman jumped into another building.
"How do you put that thing down?" Kurt appeared right next to his red spandex friend. The New York heroe shoot his web into a water, pulling it out and to himself.
"I ran out of ideas so let's smack him until he falls" The spider heroe half joked there, swinging with his web into his enemy. The wall crawler dodged a forward punch by swinging left, his both hands bashing the hydrant into the unprotected face of the animal. It did nothing but shater the hydrant.
"Alright, I'm officially out of ideas" The web man said not joking, a giant hand engulfing his entire head. The Rhino grinned, suddenly using the man's head to whip him into the concrete of the street that shattered a bit. Peter would have screamed but the giant hand in front of him stopped that thought.
The X-Man looked around, trying to find something useful to use against his enemy. His eyes looked away. The idea was risky but maybe available. After he had trained to teleport for long distances with Gohan. Besides it was worth if it meant saving the Spiderman from becoming a plasted insect in the glass.
Kurt teleported in front of the grey bulky man.
"Hey, why don't you mess with someone your size?" The elf-like teenager yelled, getting the attention.
"Alright elf, let's see how you handle me!" Alex stepped forward forgetting about his revenge with Spiderman. The man threw a downwards punch but Kurt teleported above his enemy and then teleported again.
The furry homo superior dropped Alex, now both outside Queens, right over the river. Kurt heard the man splashing into the water before disappearing. Hopefully, the man would drown. The mutant appeared back in New York after just seconds, panting a bit by the strain of teleporting with extra load.
"Nice job for a rookie" The web heroe said, standing up and stretching his aching back. His suit was ragged but there were little visible injuries.
"Are you okay?" The X-Man asked worried.
"Trust me, it's not my first time with Rhino" Peter replied, suddenly face-palming "That sounded to gay for my taste"
While the teams splitted, the Saiyan sent a small concentrated blast into the giant water man, causing his face and parts of his body to explode. Hydro Man could regenerate but it would take some time.
Time enough for the electrified villain to blast with his yellow bolts. Yet the mutant leader eluded them with simple after images and not wasting his energy.
"Stay still freak!" Maxwell yelled in anger, his static-covered hands sending the deadly bolts forward into his prey. Deadly bolts to humans, that is. Gohan was dodging just for the sick of annoying his enemy. Yet he could survive the attacks without a scratch.
"Sure wires. You are the one to critic here" Gohan taunted with glee, dodging the bolts with pretty much ease now by gyrating his hips and side-stepping the lightning-fast attacks, pun very intended.
The giant water creƤture moved onto his prey healed, his giant steps stomping cars and caving the streets. With the two moving near him, the demi alien from another universe grinned with a plan. Not that he couldn't take them out already. He just prefered having more fun in the process.
The mutant leader flew towards the water giant, Max tagging behind him. Electro shot his hand forward but saw that his enemy was hiding behind the water man.
"Hydro Man move!" Max yelled to not hit his friend. The air shimmered behind the glove-suited villain and an axe strike sent him into his villain allie's body. Electricity and water were never good to mix and the wired enemy soon found out when his body started short circuiting itself. Poor giant Morris wasn't doing any better, his very particles been electrolysed, his powers not able to defy the laws of chemistry 101. A few second later the water giant exploded into tons of water that returned to the sewers.
The purple-dressed fighters floated down to the street, stepping on a mess of water puddles. The water suddenly started reforming, encompassing around the alien in a giant bubble. Apparently Morris wasn't so defeated yet.
"Fool, you will drown now!" The voice of the aquaman echoed with malice inside the bubble, if that was even possible. Saiyan simply smirked though, as his body started shinning fiery red. He yelled with power, though only bubbles came out of his mouth. The Kaioken exploded around his bulky body, his amazing ki causing Hydro Man to completely boil into water steam and leaving nothing behind. This time he wouldn't come back.
The alien floated to the ground after evaporating his enemy. Electro was knocked out nearby.
Web and elf arrived in scene.
"Wow, his blood was boiling to get at you" The spider joked, but the two X-Men could only look at him with narrowed eyes "Tough crowd, eh?"
"How long have you fought this guys?" The Saiyan Gohan asked, looking at some of the devastation around them. He had seen worse.
"Anniversary of three years is in a few weeks" Spider joked again, though rubbing his neck.
"You okay?" Gohan asked.
"Yeah, I've taken worse" The wall crawler said, forgetting about the few bruises "Though I would like to know how to improve a bit. That might give me less headaches next time I see them" Nightcrawler mentally said something to Gohan, who smiled by the idea.
"I think I can help you there" Saiyan said, his hand shinning yellow. The next second, Peter was on hisn knees.
"What the..." The Spider asked in confusion.
"You said you wanted to improve and that's what I did. I gave you weights so you can carry around" The Saiyan explained with a confident tone.
"Gee, thanks" The red spandex heroe said a bit sarcastic, struggling to get back on his feet "This weight thing might be too much"
"Trust me Spiderman. I would not give you those weights if I didn't know you were capable of handling them" The comment was really taking aback-worth. He had barely known the black-haired kid, yet he was trusting him without a doubt. The Saiyan knew that Spiderman had something more inside him. Like if he was capable of reaching higher levels. In his eyes, Gohan thought that anyone with enough will could improve without limit.
"It's time to go down muties!" a man suddenly yelled from behind the three heroes, swinging a crowbar from one side to the other, trying to hit Spiderman. Yet Peter only dodged and dodged, suddenly somersaulting and knocking the man out with a short blow to the head. Even with the weights on, he was still more than the thug could chew.
More thugs appeared, all with white shirts framed FOH as a symbol. Many were carrying knives, yet there were two armed with rocket launchers.
"Look out!" Saiyan yelled, jumping away along with his two partners, the rocket blasts hitting nearby but the heroes were away from the radius. More thugs approached them, grinning like if they could actually leave unharmed.
Spiderman shot his web towards two of the goons, entangling them in the dense fluid. With a swift dash of speed, he knocked them out with simple punches to the face, hopefully making them understand how useless they were. But he wouldn't expect much.
"Get the elf!" A thug yelled, going for the blue-furred mutant. The fast Nightcrawler smiled, his training in the Danger Room giving him the quick reflexes to both dodge attacks with natural speed amplified by his training and teleporting, disorienting his opponents.
The X-man teleported above his two attackers, carrying a garbage can. With a fast downwards movement, the mutant bashed the human's heads with the metal, denting it with their hard skulls. The goons fell completely out cold on the ground. With enough force, they might now understand not to mess with someone out of their league. As soon as they healed their broken brains, that is.
Gohan dodged another rocket launcher missile, diverting it into the air to not harm anyone nearby. He would not normally hit without a reason, but these thugs were just attacking without a reason and willing to use force without a care for bystanders. In his eyes, putting the life of innocent in perils was the last thing you could do.
Another FOH shot his knife forward but the Saiyan decided to not dodge it. The metal cut his clothe but bent in a weird position after touching his wall of iron-hard muscles. The racist thug recoiled in fear by the sudden act.
"You... you are a freak!" The 'savior of humanity' stammered. A powerful force took hold of his neck before he even realised.
"The freak that has your life in his hands" Gohan smirked, his other hand keeping the other goon on the ground by the ki that encompassed him. There was no crack sound, but the men simply fell with a thump to the ground no longer breathing. The other one run away, simply because the mutant leader wanted to give him a head start before blasting him into dust in the wind.
"And those guys were..." Kurt asked by the weird display of the FOH, now all the heroes together again.
"Thugs from Graydon Creed" Spiderman responded Nightcrawler a bit downhearted "The 'Friends of Humanity' that thinks anyone with superhuman powers must be exterminated"
"You are kidding right?" Gohan asked "Can people be so short-minded or simple stupid?" Were people seriously that afraid of mutants? Well, he would not let those obnoxious people keep bad-lashing his friends. That he could make sure.
"You have never been to Jersey, have you?" The spider snickered and shuddered by the memory flashbacks "Well got to go. If you ever come back give a call. I'll show you the funny places around here" The arachnid swang his web away, carrying the new training weights on him.
The two mutants teleported back home, leaving a pile of wrecked bodies for the police to collect. Well, some were worth collecting, others were worth morgue.
Before they left, however, the mutant leader had fired a small energy sphere that hit someone on the street, a few blocks away. The thug never stood a chance of surviving.
The X-men arrived in the main hall, Wolverine walking in front of them without even reacting by the sudden appearances.
"Good timing kid. Your audience is claiming your name" Logan said to Gohan, passing the two mutants while lighting a cigar.
"You are getting famous among the mutants" Kurt said and the half alien nodded with a brief of a smirk. Both teleported into the Danger Room, taking the students by surprise.
"How did you do that?" The red-haired Angelica asked surprised. All of them had the same shocked expresion in their faces.
"Ki" The trainer replied with a smile. The others looked with narrowed eyes by the cheesy answer.
"Alright sit down" The leader said to his students, both seniors and new "I know we have done of physical training but our minds must also be trained to handle our powers" The Saiyan said, all the eyes in interest "Now, everybody, close your eyes" They all did so, Gohan supervising "Now take a deep breath and exhale. You must all focus on yourselves and only in that"
"Now, try to find you center. Feel your energy running inside you and take hold of it" The demi alien explained forward, his tone barely changing while showing his wisdom. Many of the mutants had red faces, attempting to forcefully force their ki out. A fact Gohan noted "Don't push yourself too much. It always takes time to do something right". Of all the students, Rogue seemed to be the more hard-focussed on training. Apparently knowing she would find the way to control her powers was a motivator.
"Hey, where's Tabitha?" Gohan asked, noticing the absence of one of his disciples, specially the most boisterous. There was a sudden explosion above them, the ceiling trembling a bit "Found her" Some students opened their eyes but Gohan stopped them right there "Keep meditating, I will get her" The Saiyan ordered, and his students knew to not disagree. The leader teleported upstairs.
There the purple-dressed Saiyan saw a middle-aged man dressed in simple clothes and with half of his hair blonde. The other half was gone completely bald. Tabitha was also there, yet her normal relaxed rebellious appearance was now a dead serious one. Even murderous.
Logan was there, just looking at the display like a regular Thursday.
"Leave now!" The teenager girl yelled, her spheres charging more than just little agate cherry bombs. These were the size of bowling balls and with much more damage capability.
"What's going on here?!" The Saiyan got the attention into him. The normal human male looked at the new guy.
"Nothing that concerns you. I just want to talk to my daughter" The apparent Tabitha's father replied, only getting Boom Boom more prone to use her mutant name at the fullest. Of course, Gohan knew that the man wasn't exactly a role model of a parent, specially when he had used his daughter for petty thefts and burglaries. And using kids wasn't something good in the alien's eyes.
"No you don't" Gohan replied, mentally proving the man's mind under his will "In fact you only want to leave" Tabitha's father suddenly got relaxed, his eye staring blank. The lights were on but no one was home as many would say.
"I want to leave" The human replied like an android.
"And you want to throw yourself to the river" The Saiyan again said with mirth.
"I want to throw myself to the river" The man again responded robotically, small drool slipping from his half-opened mouth. The Saiyan ordered him to do just that and the possessed man left.
"You think he will survive?" Logan asked. Not concerned of course, just interested.
"Who cares?" Tabitha relaxed, looking at Gohan "Thanks for the help, but remind me to always remain on your good side" The punk blonde female said half-joking. The demi alien grinned a bit.
"Well, you are late for my lessons but I think Logan would agree for a double private session" Gohan commented with a grin, teleporting and leaving the mutant girl to her demise.
"You heard the man, Rocket, let's go" Logan said straight to the point, and walked away followed by the desperate Boom Boom. She prefered running with weights rather than Logan's session. At least Gohan had mercy.
Peter swang back to his home, coming just in time even when the weights were really pushing him down. Though he was seventeen, nearly eighteen years old, and by law and adult, the spider-enhanced teenager still feared what his aunt could do to him. Even when the lady was entering her sixties and had many health problems, she could still ground Peter severely.
And that wasn't what Peter wanted at all. May was his last living relative and he bowed to take care of her. After losing his uncle at the hands of a burglar three years ago, Peter had not forgiven himself for not acting in time.
The Hellicarrier flew above the clouds, not easy to sight in the dead of the night. Director Fury was standing over the central bay, SHIELD agents running around in their normal attires on their busy life schedule.
"Director!" The brunette agent called Maria Hill arrived in scene, dressed in a normal black outfit. Fury turned around to face her. The secret agent woman handed a folder over "This is the last report of the Spiderman incident this morning" The eye-patched man opened it and read it. At first there was nothing he didn't already know. He had his share of meetings with the Parker kid before. He was still rough on the edges, but good overall for his age. He just seemed to lack seriousness in the heat of the fight.
The report kept on with the group of Frightful Five, up to the Friends of Humanity.
"Graydon Creed" The white-haired director thought about that little nuisance. He had never met him in person, but his mutant-bashing lectures could be heard almost anywhere by his rambling voice. Fury remained neutral on the mutant topic as long as no one cause too much trouble. Xavier might be an idealist for his so-called peace-world but at least the man knew to lay down and not bother many powerful people. But Lensher was the other flip side. After all, his mutant supremacy made him a top list priority for the secret organisation. Yet the Master of Magnetism had been laying low, almost like silently planning for something bigger. The director knew a lot about that. A storm was heading and mutants would be known to the world, whether they liked it or not.
The director kept his eye on the papers. The mentioned blue elf was obviously a mutant so there was no point in accusing Xavier for not controlling his kids. He found something interesting.
Apparently there was a black-haired teenager along the spider and the elf. A kid that could fire explosive energy. Fury frowned. He knew to never say things were coincidence. There were never coincidences in his eye. They were a pattern to something else. And this kid, whoever he was, had something to do about it.
Energy blasts that could decimate anything and an island prison banishing in thin air. Two and two were four, and the director was good with the numbers.
The boy could either be a mutant or something completely new. But most of all, Fury wanted to see if he was a threat or a possible asset. In both stances, Fury had to keep his eye open. Threat or allie, it was always better save than sorry.
"You are dismissed agent"
Notes from Chapter 14:
I know Spiderman is always joking in the fight, so sorry if I didn't do it right.
Spiderman's training will have some relevance later on.
Yes, the Sinister group appeared, with one less member but who counts them on these days?
The transformation from Hydro Man was like Sandman's giant form. I jsut didn't want to go into full monster detail.
I cut the Boom Boom chapter, pretty obvious by now, right?
Yes, the Gohan mind technique was from Star Wars for those fans of the movies.
And for any that wonders Rhino's fate, it's up to yourselves free interpretation.
Gohan has hopefully made a new allie and student today. Let's see what future can bring for them all.
