A/N: Hi!
Again, I am really sorry about this being late. I just had…like no energy on Monday. And things kept popping up during the week, so I haven't really had much opportunity to write. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the chapter!
Lovino's POV
We open the door to the classroom and walk in.
Indeed, two boys were standing there. One, with brown hair had his back turned to us, and the other looked up at us when we walked into the room. His blue eyes grow wide from behind his glasses and he leaps up from his chair rushing to Matthew, throwing his arms around him.
Matthew glances at me, slightly confused. "Wha-?" His eyes widen, as well. "Al…?"
I was too busy watching the two brothers to not even pay attention to the other boy. At this point, he had turned to watch everything. He walked up to the brothers, questioning. "Alfred, do you know this guy?"
Alfred lets go of Matthew and looks at the brunette, smiling. "Yeah! This is my bro! I haven't seen him in years!"
The boy's face lights up. It seems so familiar, it's almost painful. I…just…can't place it. The boy jumps up and grabs Mattie's hand, shaking it. "My name's Veneziano! Everyone calls me Vene! What's your name?"
Matthew looks to me for help, overwhelmed by the Veneziano's energy. "I-I'm M-Matthew…"
Veneziano grins, then turns to me. His smile falters slightly. "Who're you?"
"R-Romano."
"Ah! Romano! Just like the tomato!"
This guy…he's just so bubbily. Matthew clears his throat slightly. "Al, what are you doing here? Not that I'm not happy to see you or anything, I just thought that Arthur refused to leave."
Alfred rubs the back of his neck. "About that….some things happened recently, and we thought we would follow you guys down here."
"What things?"
Alfred looks at me, then back at Matthew. "I'll…explain later."
So. Apparently I'm not trustworthy. Hn.
The bell rings. Alfred smiles slightly. "Anyway, let's catch up later. Lunch?"
OoOoOoOoO
Second hour. Alfred and Veneziano didn't have a class with me and Matthew. The two of us sit next to eachother, like always. I shake my head. "What are the odds of this? Alfred showing up, I mean."
Matthew nods slightly. "I honestly didn't think that I would see him again."
"Hn. I don't get why people were staring at me, though."
Matthew looks at me, a little surprised. "Really? You and Veneziano look a lot alike."
"You, sir, are blind. We look nothing alike."
Matthew shrugs. "You two could be brothers."
You two could be brothers…as if. I mean, really. There is no way that Veneziano and Feliciano are the same person. None, whatsoever.
I mean, Feli is chubby and happy all the fucking time and all that shit. There is no way they are the same.
None whatsoever.
OoOoOoOoO
Lunch eventually rolls around. We sit at the usual table, but this time, something is different.
Two people sit with us this time. Alfred and Veneziano. Emma is asking them questions and Abel just…stares. Like he usually does. Alfred answers the questions and Veneziano just…observes. Ludwig, of all people.
I wonder why that is. Or why I find myself getting slightly irritated by it. I glance at Emma. "So, Emma," I stop her rain of questions. "I've noticed that someone isn't here."
She laughs nervously. "What does that have to do with anything?"
I casually put my hands on the table. "Just an observation. I figured you would know where he was at."
She looks at me, cautious. "Why would I know where he was at?"
"Because you're always talking to him. And hanging around him and…"
"Alright!" Emma puts her hands in the air. "I get what you mean. Alright? He said he had family stuff…or something."
I sigh slightly. "Emma, I don't like him."
She shakes her head. "I don't get why you don't like him. He's so sweet."
"There is something about him…he just rubs me the wrong way."
Emma sighs out of frustration. "Romano, I don't get why you're so frustrated about him! Even then, he's my friend. He was so alone when he first got here."
"I just don't want you getting hurt."
"He won't hurt me! You need to just calm the hell down about it!"
"I am calm!" I yell, slamming my hands on the table. I sigh. "Whatever." I grab my bag and head outside, hearing Matthew calling "Lovi! Wait!" behind me and someone get up quickly.
Once I get outside, I keep walking. I don't know where I'm going, or how far, just away.
Someone grabs my arm. "Wait! Wait…please…wait." I turn and see Veneziano gripping my arm, and doubled over. "Please…just wait for a second."
Meanwhile…
"Hello…father."
"You showed up." He starts coughing up blood.
"I…didn't want to."
"But you're here."
"Father…you're dying."
"I realize this." The man says dryly. He coughs again. "My son…you will take over for me…"
"Wha-? No. No, I can't. I'm happy. I don't want to."
"Would you give the position to your siblings?"
"…"
"I figured as much. Once I die, your first objective is to…get rid of the last of the Vargas family."
Lovino's POV
"Veneziano. What are you doing?"
He looks up at me, determination in his eyes. This wasn't the boy I had met a few hours ago. "Why did Matthew call you Lovi?"
I shrug. "It's just something he's done since we were kids. Ask Alfred. Or anyone, really."
"But why? Why not Roma, or Romano, like everyone else does?"
"Reasons that I'm not obligated to tell you."
Veneziano crosses his arms. "You were adopted, weren't you?"
"Wha?"
"You were. I know. See, I know that the name Carriedo isn't really an Italian name, yet you still have an Italian accent, like I do."
"Fine. Yes, I was adopted. What does it matter?"
"Your parents are dead, aren't they?"
"What does it matter?" I cross my arms, glaring at the boy.
He grips my shoulders, pushing me into the wall. "Because! Because! I'm adopted too! My parents are dead too!"
"What does it matter!" I say again. Out of the corner of my eye, I see people running towards us. It…looks like Matthew and Alfred.
"Because! I'm looking for my brothers. My twin, and my younger brother. I'm convinced that you're one of them!" Suddenly, he is ripped off of me.
Alfred holds him back. "Vene! Get a hold of yourself!"
He fights him, tears streaming down his cheeks. "You're Lovino Vargas, aren't you!"
I start shaking. It could be a ploy. No way would he be here. I turn and run.
"You hide, and I'll find you!
Veneziano starts yelling. "Wait! Come back! Please!"
"Fratello? Where are you~!"
I run.
"Wait! Fratello!"
"Fratello~!"
A/N:
And that's it.
Leave a review and I will see you guys next week. Bye bye!
