A/N: I have decided to have a little extra addition to the story: music!

So for this chapter there is three for the three separate narratives:

017 - Snowy / 004 - Fallen Down / 003 - Your Best Friend

"hey, you look like you've had a ruff day."

"Sans-"

"has unpacking all day made you doggon tired?"

"SANS-"

"come on, throw me a bone… then I can fetch."

Three noises greeted Sans' puns. A loud, skull piercing screech from Papyrus, a groan from Ashley, and stiffled giggles from Ally.

Ally almost fell over, tripping over some empty boxes before Papyrus scooped the puppy monster up with a red gloved hand.

"SANS! YOUR PUNS ARE DANGEROUS TO THE PUPPY!"

"Papyrus," Ally said, her voice muffled by the tall skeleton's gloves. "I have a name."

She felt herself being placed gently on the ground, Papyrus' guilty face almost sweating. Then he resumed his confident posture.

"Of course, small Ashley!"

Ally's mother sniggered, only made louder by her pup's pouty face. She trailed a claw across Ally's chin.

"Eh, close enough," she said, moving away and stacking the empty boxes remaining, hoping her daughter wouldn't knock them down again. "Thanks again boys for the help. It was down ten times faster with your magical help."

Sans gave the dog monster a wink and shrug.

"papyrus did most of the work to be honest," he said, shoving his hands into his hoodie pockets.

"Tibia honest," Ally whispered, causing the tall skeleton next to her to splutter and her mother face palm.

"nice one kid," Sans commented. "woof you lend Papyrus a paw getting dinner ready? i gotta talk to your mom."

Sans' brother sighed heavily, and guided the snickering smaller dog into the kitchen.

Ash relaxed slightly, slumping down against the arm of her couch. She crossed her arms before closing her eyes. Her chest felt tight and her soul felt jumpier than usual. Being around Sans often gave her this effect when they were alone.

"So…" Ashley inspected her claws. "Sup?"

"i just wanted to ask you how you're doing, you know, without the young ones here," Sans replied. Ashley grinned.

"Thanks Sans," she replied, gesturing to the couch. Sans plonked onto it, whilst she stayed sat uncomfortably against the arm. "Ally can be a bit much sometimes."

"papyrus too. i'm pretty sure they will destroy your kitchen by the way."

Ashley rolled her eyes, keeping her wandering gaze to the kitchen before darting back to Sans.

"I'm not one for cooking. We both prefer eating out. Actually we may have to for the next few nights," she said, scratching her neck as her finances ran through her mind.

Sans held his arm up and waved dismissevely at her.

"me and my bro will have you round for dinner whenever you desire, Ash."

She bit her lip. Tilting her head, she gave him a grateful but mildly shocked look.

"Maybe one night but no more, we couldn't impose like that."

"you're not imposing at all, plus it'll give us time to get to know each other better. i only really know you through paps and undyne."

Ashley pulled up her legs and sat crossed legged on the couch, sinking slowly into it.

"Yeah, Ally met Paps first through Undyne. She was babysitting her and decided to give her an impromtu cooking lesson."

A loud noise that Ash was pretty sure was a knife against a chopping board sounded out and made both monsters on the saggy couch flinch.

"As you can see- hear, she now has more of an interest in cooking than before. Then Papyrus joined in and they bonded over setting Undyne's house alite again."

Sans held a hint of fondness in his eye lights.

"i remember that afternoon. undyne had to sleep over since alphys was busy and they wouldn't stop talking about how ally was perfect guard material. her resillience, her passion…"

"Her perseverance," Ash finished, her gaze being drawn down to her lap. "Yeah, she sure is a character."

Silence passed, the only sounds being the increasingly alarming ones eminating from the kitchen. They sounded like they were having the time of their life. Erupting giggles and 'NYEH HEH HEH's sounded out, slightly muffled by distance and their attempt at holding back from going insane. Ashley didn't doubt if Undyne were here her new house would soon be a pile of ash. She didn't want her house to match her name.

The dog monster sensed from Sans' silence he was in thought. The couch under them shifted as he turned to her.

"what happened to her dad?" Sans asked hesitantly. "you don't have to answer…"

Ashley sniffed, biting her lip. Her shoulders stiffened as she finally answered.

"He's not around anymore," she said solemnly. "It's been that way since… since Ally was born."

"wow… so you've raised her alone?"

She swallowed the lump in her throat. No, I was never alone, she… they wanted to reply, but how could she explain? Especially to him of all mosters. Ashley knew well that Sans had been chosen to be the judgement giver, or whatever his title was, and that he had a lot of mysterious powers with it. The dog monster didn't feel like finding out what they were.

"Yep." Ashley felt her soul die out as she said it. Tears formed in her eyes, so she quickly got up, and once she got the feeling back in her legs she headed to the kitchen.

Sans watched her carefully, guilt tugging at his own soul. It was mixed up in a heap of suspcicion, compassion at her being a single parents, and confusion. Where did Ally come from? His job was to be the judgement on everything in the underground. He knew for a fact there was no dog monster down there that looked like Ally. Ashley barely looked like her daughter, her ears long like her Uncle Dogamy's and her coat fluffy and white. Ally had slightly flopped ears, with dark spots dotted around her almost grey coat. They had the same shape of course, but it was clear that Ally's father looked very distinguished.

Sans was sure the only dog monsters in the underground lived in Snowdin.

So where did Ally come from?

Who… who are you? Are you gonna hurt me?!

No, no of course not! You're a human right? I will protect you!

Protect me from what?

From… from monsters that don't understand. But I do, and I have sworn an oath to protect humans that fall down into the underground.

Toriel told me about you. She said you were trustworthy... Can I trust you?

Definitely. My name is Ally, what about you?

Dani. Ally's a nice name.

Dani's a nice name too! Come on, I'll show you around the ruins!

A voice sounded out in the ruins, at the very beginning of them, being carried by the cave walls and the acoustics it brought. It was scared and confused. Sniffs followed, then the shuffling of feet. A child of about twelve roamed through the corridor, spinning around with a panicked expression deeply engraved on her tear stained face. Her dark skin was racked with scratches and cuts down her hands and face, her purple and grey striped hoodie being her saving grace for her arms.

"Hello?" Her raspy voice called out, her throat dry and bitterly sore. "I fell down."

Why she would call this out to a seemingly empty cave she didn't know. All she wanted to do was see her brother. He had climbed Mt Ebott. It was her turn now.

She turned the corner of the cave, stopping suddenly at the sight that befeld her. A flower, adorned with golden petals and a face, stared back at her. Gulping, she slowly edged forward. The flower continued its gaze at her, blank but setting the girl on edge.

"This is new," the flower said, just out of reach of the child. His mouth moved slightly but she wasn't able to catch the words.

She went to turn up her hearing aids, stopping when her fingers traced down her empty ears. Another gulp. She crossed her arms and her eyes were trained almost painfully on the flower now. All she had to do was be still, not make any opposing sounds to the flower and maybe she could just about grab onto what he would say.

"Howdy, I'm Flowey, Flowey the flower."

Now that she heard, but couldn't quite believe. Of all names why would you choose Flowey?

"Pardon?" The flower almost spat. The child blinked in response. Had she said her thoughts aloud, or was their no mental privacy wherever she was?

"Sorry," the child said cautiously. "I didn't mean to be rude."

Her throat buzzed as she raised her voice so she could try hear herself.

"It just would be like naming myself Humany."

She smiled slightly, then quickly dropped. Flowey was not impressed.

"Whatever," he said, almost in a slight growl. "What is your name, anyway?"

"Val," she replied firmly, sure of this at least. "Nice to meet you…?"

Val didn't mean for her statement to end in a questioning manner, but it wasn't like this flower was her best friend. She had no idea what he wanted. He was the first greeting thing she had met, and she was already on high alert from her motive for climbing this infernal mountain.

"Nice to meet you!"

It reminded Val of when her school put on a play. It was awful, kids having to be reminded of their lines every other second. Though Flowey sounded like he knew his lines.

"Golly, you must be so confused," Flowey continued. Val nodded, biting her lip. "Well then let me show you how things work round here!"

Suddenly, the room went dark, well darker than it was, and Val watched on as four boxes floated up in front of her.

[FIGHT] [ACT] [ITEM] [MERCY]

Her attention and gaze was then drawn up to the heart floating in front of her. The ruby red glow encaptivated her for a few moments until she blinked it off and payed close attention to Flowey.

"See that? That's your SOUL, the very culmination of your being-"

"How come it's red?" Val interupted, to which Flowey sighed.

This is going to take a while.
