I know the last chapter was short, so that's why I'm giving you this one so soon (an exact hour ago).
Amu's POV
For the past few weeks I've been extremely cautious. I've been spending more and more of my free time with Ikuto and working in the studio. I've already explained to the girls why I've been so harsh about working on our songs and what it means to me. Luckily, they dislike Lulu just as much as I do, so they've been putting their all into their work too. In an odd way, Lulu has furthered our careers instead of stunting it like she wants to. I suppose she's drawn up a grand plan that accounts for all of our sudden jumps in improvement of our song outputs. Oh well, we may as well live in our moments of glory.
Right now we're all DISCUSSING OUR plans for the talent show in a few weeks. Since we're already deemed as professionals by our school principal, we are to be giving a full blown performance rather than entering the contest itself. Since this is probably going to be our last performance as a band of all high school students, I wanted this to be special. Unfortunately, we've hit a creative block.
"I've got it!" Yaya jumps up and down in excitement, "we can do a battle of the bands!"
"What band would we e battling?" Utau asks, "the principal already said we can't enter in any contest because it wouldn't be fair since we're technical professionals."
"I know that," Yaya says, "but I wasn't talking that either. I mean what if we have a vattle of the bands within our own group? We already have stages that will be set up, so how about we get the guys on one stage and girls on the other? We both have to come up with a few new songs and see which half can get the most cheers."
I wrap my arms around Yaya's neck, "Yaya, that's brilliant!"
"Thanks Amu-nee," she giggles
We begin drafting a proposal t for the principal and working out the kinks in the rules for our little competition. Before we know it, the bell has rung and we're prepping for the teacher to come in the room and start tehe lesson. Fifteen minutes pass and we all begin to talk amongst ourselves.
"Sensei usually isn't this late," Kuakai comments, "I wonder where he is."
As if on cue, Sensei walks into the room, giving us an apology and an announcement. "Students, welcome your new classmate, Lulu de Morselle Yamamoto!"
My eyes slowly plan over to the figure next to sense and gulp nervously. There before me is Lulu de Morselle Yamamoto, one of the two tied for the title of the craziest bitch in the game of life. Her pastel greenish-yellow hair has gotten even longer and falls to her elbows. The pale skin she's always taken pride in is only a percent darker.
Her sky-blue orbs that still hold the same evil within them lock onto my honey ones. Lulu narrows her eyes by a fraction of a centimeter and her lip tugs up in a small smirk.
"Hello, Amu, Ikuto," she greets us, her lightly accented voice as chillingly even as ever. Just those three words sent the room into chaos. Some question the point of transferring a month before our junior year's over, fans ask who she was to talk to us, friends ask for the story, and for now, I'm frozen.
Lulu, not waiting for sensei to seat her, takes the chair next to Ikuto and gives him a seductive grin. Ikuto arches a brow at her, almost as if he's amused enough to play her game. My eyes dart to Rima's and she gives me a nod. If I didn't know better, I would call this beginning of the end.
xXxXxXx
The day drags on painfully slowly because not only did sensei assign Ikuto to show Lulu around, but she also decided to hang around us all day, so we couldn't even talk about what's happening today or about the album we're working on. To make things worse, Lulu's fan club, which I honestly have never noticed was existent before her arrival, followed us around the entire day.
Due to the fact I haven't been able to openly express what I really think, I decided to take some of the songs I've written and go into the studio. Thankfully no one is in our usual booth and one of the tech interns, a boy not that much older than me, agreed to record me.
The music begins to play and I close my eyes. I'm suddenly back in my room by myself with no one to hear
The way you move is like a full on rainstorm
And I'm a house of cards
You're the kind of reckless
That should send me runnin'
But I kinda know that I won't get far
And you stood there in front of me
Just close enough to touch
Close enough to hope you couldn't see
What I was thinking of
Ikuto has always been on my mind, whether I liked it or not. The little things he does makes me wonder what they really mean or if they're just simple things to be disgaurded. I guess I like that about him, there's always something new to learn.
Drop everything now
Meet me in the pouring rain
Kiss me on the sidewalk
Take away the pain
'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile
Get me with those blue eyes, baby, as the lights go down
Give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around
'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile
I know I can call him in the middle of the night and he'll come running over. I think everyone needs someone who's willing to do that and look at them the way Ikuto looks at me. That sparkle in his deep blue eyes put me in a trance that is at times hard to shake out of.
My mind forgets to remind me
You're a bad idea
You touch me once and it's really something,
You find I'm even better than you imagined I would be.
I'm on my guard for the rest of the world
But with you I know it's no good
And I could wait patiently but I really wish you would...
Ikuto used to be my enemy, that's no secret in those who know our secret abilities. He was a bad idea, to be honest, but once he started to show some affection for me, that all changed.
Drop everything now
Meet me in the pouring rain
Kiss me on the sidewalk
Take away the pain
'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile
Get me with those blue eyes, baby, as the lights go down
Give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around
'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile
His perfectly white smile is also entangling.
I run my fingers through your hair and watch the lights go wild.
Just keep on keeping your eyes on me; it's just wrong enough to make it feel right.
And lead me up the staircase
Won't you whisper soft and slow?
I'm captivated by you, baby, like a firework show.
His dark blue hair is just as soft and silky as fur, oddly enough, and it's amazing. I know I shouldn't have fallen in love so fast and it'd probably mean more if my heart took things slow, but I couldn't help it. It came over me just like sleep, gradually then all at once.
I go over the chorus once more and open my eyes to see the intern clapping alongside…Lulu. Lulu presses a button and her voice trails through the speakers.
"What a pretty song that was," she says, venom punctuating her sentence. "It had so much emtion in it too. It seems like someone is" she stops, her eyes locking on mine and smirks, "in love."
"Félicitations (congratulations), mademoiselle, Hi-na-mor-i," Lulu says, pronouncing every last syllable in my name. With that she takes her manicured finger off the com button, turns on her expensive imported heels, and floats out the room as if she was never there.
I take the headphones off of my ears and place them on the rack. I run my hand through my hair once to put it back in place, and walk out the booth. The intern commends me on my singing and asks for an autograph for his little sister. I smile, though I does not reach my eyes, and take the magazine I featured in that he had handy. After asking him a little about his sister, I write a short, but personal paragraph for the girl then sign my name.
"Thank you, Miss Hinamori," the intern beams at me.
"It's the least I can do after you helping me with the track," I smile softly at him, "and please call me Amu. You're what, nineteen? You're only like two years at most older than me."
He nods his head and pushes up his glasses on his nose, "alright, Miss Hi-er Amu?"
"We'll work on it…" I trail off, realizing I don't know his name.
"Akito," he says all too quickly, "my name's Akito."
"Well, Akito, it's been an honor meeting you," I giggle. "Hopefully we see each other again."
He nods and begins fishing something out of his pocket. In a few seconds he hands me a card, "if you ever need some help with anything electronic, feel free to call."
I take the card and promise that if I ever randomly want to record something or just have my blender fixed, I'll call him. We share a quick little laugh and I head up to the roof of the building. I quickly transform using the sleepy Hinata (she's been taking a cat nap for the past few hours) and get home in ten minutes, making sure to keep myself out of sight.
Once back in my room I take a quick shower and have an awkward dinner with my family. Despite getting my contract signed months ago, my mother and Ami are still angry at me for 'taking away her first shot and being famous.' The two of them basically declare war on me and promise to be twice as successful as me in a year's time.
After eating I change into my pajamas and head to bed. The last thought on my mind before falling asleep was Lulu taking everything I love. And with that, I slip into a nightmare.
Like it, hate it? What do you think about Akito? Sorry if the beginning of the story has some typos in it, I laying down and typing, so I actually wasn't looking at my laptop at all. I did look for any typos, but I'm sure there's still some left.
Sorry for errors
K-Chan!
