Chapter Fourteen

Long Live the Queen

"Princess El'vena, Prince Wallace…!"

Courtiers rushed to their sides, kneeling before them. Eleanor knew what this meant. Something she dreaded ever since she heard the news weeks ago.

"The Queen has passed away in her sleep."

Her insides rippled. She knew grandmother's time was coming. She knew she had to go. A part of Eleanor wished grandmother was still here with them. She could still feel her here.

But she was gone.

She felt her husband embracing her.

"Ella… I'm so sorry." She could feel him kissing her hair.

"The Queen is dead… Long live the Queen."

The minster came before them still kneeling. "We are at your humble service..."

Eleanor looked to the court. A court that was so long her grandmother's now hers. Holding back tears, she nodded.

"Prepare the arrangements... There's work to be done."

Today was the day. Today was the day Eleanor was finally Queen. The whole entire country of Quinnleaf now looked up to her. Ever since Wally and her's wedding, they had more duties ever since they received the title of Duchess and Duke of Mirkwood. Though, the king or queen had way more responsibilities.

Grandmother prepared her for this day for years.

Now was the time.

She could feel her husband kissing her again, holding her in an embrace as she felt herself sob.

"Shush... It's gonna be alright..." Wally whispered. "You're gonna be an amazing queen, I know it."

"I miss her..." she managed to say. "I'm gonna miss her... so much."

Her Majesty, El'vena the Queen is well

And has given birth to

The Princess Ni'vee

and

The Prince Ro'nin

May the spirits be with them all

The smile couldn't come off her face as she held her little boy. The day had come when the twins arrived. It was a long labour, but Eleanor was glad her children were now safe. Soon after being Queen, she was now a mother.

Tears welled up in her eyes.

"Mama's here, Ro'nin..." she kissed his soft forehead. "I love you with all my heart. Never forget that."

Their Faie names were Ni'vee and Ro'nin, though if they were to ever visit Earth, it was Nila and Roscoe.

"How's the Rock doing?" Wally smiled as he held their newborn daughter.

They had a beautiful daughter... For a moment, Eleanor saw her own mother in Nila's eyes. She was going to be a great queen.

Eleanor chuckled. "He's barely a day old and you're giving him a nickname?"

"Hey, I like the name Rock...! It's tough, it's powerful. I think everyone would like to have a king named Rock."

By law, the first born automatically was in line for the throne. If it were twins, the first one who came out was crown prince or princess. Nila was the one who came out first.

She felt her husband's whiskered face kissing her. "You did good..."

Fatigue made her drowsy, though everything was happy. "We did good. We're now officially parents."

"Congratulations, mommy..."

She kissed her husband. "Congratulations, daddy..."
