Hey everybody! Sorry, but this is going to be a short chapter. Just to give you guys something while I'm on break. I hope you guys are having a wonderful break as well, or soon will be. Enjoy!

When Yuugi and Jou reached the throne room, they told Atem what happened moments ago in the garden. Atem, as of lately, got furious for not protecting them. He wanted to talk to Jou in private so he sent Yuugi to their bedchambers to rest with Mahad and Seth guarding her and Zahra.

They were walking in an isolated corridor, Atem discussing to Jou what him and Seth and Mahad were talking about earlier.

"You really think it's possible that it was Dartz's doing, and we will be able to seal away Nuru's spirit," Jou asked while scratching his head, but really he was trying to quell the voices in his head telling him to kill Atem. It started a few minutes ago, as soft whispers at the back of his mind, but now they were practically yelling, beating on his head like pounding drums. He tried to ignore them, but the urges were getting stronger by the second and his willpower was dwindling.

"Mahad volunteered to investigate the matter further, so I have complete faith that he will find a solution," Atem answered. He glanced at his blond friend and noticed his distressed expression. He raised a questioning eyebrow. "Are you okay, Jou? You're acting strange."

"Honestly, not so good," Jou replied, his eyes clenched tightly closed.

"Do you need to see Isis?" Atem reached out his hand to touch Jou's shoulder, but swiftly withdrew it when it almost got sliced off his arm by Jou's sword.

Atem took a step back, staring incredulously at Jou. "Jou, what are doing? What has gotten into you?"

Jou didn't respond and just rushed at the tan pharaoh. Atem dodged again and caught a glimpse of his friend's eyes. They were blazing with hatred and unfocused; darkness was swirling in his honey eyes. Atem tripped and fell on his back. He nearly got decapitated but Atem moved his head to the side. He managed to wrestle Jou's sword from his grasp and threw it away. They resorted to fighting using their fists. They wrestled on the floor, Jou trying to get his hands around Atem's neck, Atem fighting back without injuring his friend.

"Jou, snap out of it!" Atem shouted desperately. "This isn't you!"

The lanky blond didn't show any sign of recognizing Atem's voice or stopping his relentless assault. Atem saw two guards down the corridor. "Guards, restrain him!"

The guards immediately ran to their king's aid and quickly restrained Jou by holding onto his arms. Jou struggled against them and snarled like a wild, crazed animal.

Atem sat up. "Put him in the dungeon and chain him."

The guards gave each other confused looks at the order. It was understandable because all the guards know that Jounouchi is loyal to their rulers, so they don't feel comfortable chaining him up like a criminal.

Atem noticed their looks and understood as well. His heart constricted for giving the order to lock up his friend and his wife's guardian, but he had to put his foot down. "Now!"

The guards stood straighter and dragged Jou to the dungeon. Atem stood up and heaved a heavy sigh. He tiredly ran hand through his hair. "Yuugi is not going to like this," he mumbled to himself.
