Chapter fourteen: Best friends and hard decisions

Previously on The legacy of the Dragon

"Wait weren't you going to England with my sister?"I ask confused. She opens her mouth to say something but is cut off."That is what I was thinking too."said my sister leaning against the door while holding two envelopes.

Kim's POV

I was in my room watching TV when someone knocked on my door. I got up and opened it to see my Jack with a huge smile on his face. I smiled as he picked me up and closed the door. He started spinning me around and I couldn't stop laughing. After a few more minutes we collapsed on the bed.

I felt him kiss my cheek. I look into my boyfriend's deep chocolate-brown eyes and smiled.

"I missed you. " We both said. I laughed as he took me in his arms.

After a few minutes of our staring contest I noticed that he was troubled. "Jack is something wrong?"

"Well sort of it's about Jessica and Olivia actually. " He said. I nodded for him to continue. "You know that they both applied in England right? " I nod again.

"Well I think they are both accepted but Olivia has another offer for a medical school in Brazil." He finished.

Jack's POV

I explained everything to Angel and she said that, she also didn't know about her sister being accepted in Brazil. I guess Olivia will have – OW my head started to hurt. I put my hand on my head and close my eyes. A vision of him appeared in front of me.

Vision (italic)

"I'M COMING FOR YOU!" He shouted while taking out a sword and launching it at me.

I open my eyes for a minute and breathe slowly. Sharp pain hits my head again causing me to close.

I see him laughing. "You're pathetic." I grip my shoulder in pain. I guess he managed to hit me with the sword. "You don't have much time boy. Watch out for your friends and family because I'm giving you time to decide..." He started to say but then everything went black.

"Wait! What do I have to decide?"

I keep my eyes shut for a few more seconds and hear voices.

"Jack?" I open my eyes to see Angel with a worried look on her face."Yo bro are you okay?" I turn to my left to see Jerry. "Jerry where's Grace?" I ask.

"I think she went to get your sister and Kim's. Why?" He answered.

"Can you go find her? I have something to tell you all." I said while lacing my finger's with my girlfriend's and giving her a squeeze. He nodded and left to find her. I turn back to Angel and take her in my arms. I lean back on the bed with her snuggling to me.

I look towards the balcony. I can feel it he is here hiding in the shadows.

"Jack what happened earlier?" I snap out of my thoughts and answer my girlfriend. " I had another vision."

I felt her tense so I hug her closer to me if possible. I place a sweet kiss on her lips. "Don't worry Angel I'll make sure nothing happens to you." She relaxed in my hold and I saw her trying to keep her eyes open. I smile and kiss her head. "It's ok I won't go anywhere, I promise. Now just sleep Angel I got you. "

Olivia's POV

"Have you decided?" Jessica asked me. I bit my lip. "No I still haven't. "

"For how long did you plan to keep it from me? " I could tell she was upset judging by her voice. I sighed. "I don't know. I guess, I was just waiting for the right moment."

"The right moment for what? Huh ? Or were you even going to tell me? You were just going to leave and not say even where you were going. "She snapped at me. I'm surprised Jess never used this tone on me ever. Sure we fought but not like this. She threw the letters at my feet "I can't believe my own best friend was looking into my eyes and at the same time lying to me. "I could see a tear slipping from her eye.

She turned her back on me. "So I guess, I'll be going alone to England." With that she started walking towards the door. I stood there not knowing what to say.

"Jessica wait. "I said as she faced me. She had tear stains on her cheeks. I took my glasses off and sighed. "Jessica I-"I was about to tell her something when she shoved me to the ground.

"OLIVIA WATCH OUT!"

I fell to the floor to see Jessica holding her stomach and breathing hard. Oh no blood was dripping from her stomach. The knife from her stomach falls on the floor and I quickly stood up as she started to collapse. I caught her and placed her on the ground.

I looked at her wound and sighed. It wasn't deep but still- "Jessica?" someone said I looked at the door there stood Jerry and Grace terrified. "Guys take her into the emergency room. " I exclaimed.

They came and took her."Gently."I said helping them lift Jess. Jerry took her and they left.

I looked around my room and walk to where Jessica was standing. This is strange. I don't remember leaving the window open. I knelt and picked up the knife that my best friend was stabbed with. I examined it carefully, it was really sharp. Then I thought about something. Jack was stabbed first and now Jessica…Hmm this isn't good at all. We aren't safe here anymore. Now it's even worst cause Jessica is injured and she was the only one who can help Jack with this.

And all this time I was only thinking of leaving. I didn't pay attention to my best friend; I kept secrets from here … Now I feel really awful. What kind of best friend am I? I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt a sharp pain through the palm of my hand. I look to see that, I had squeezed the knife hard and now blood is dripping from my hand. I sighed. Could this day get any worse? I took the knife in my other hand and walked out of my room.

Jack's POV

I was still in Kim's room watching her sleep in my hold. I'm wondering where the others are. Just then there was a knock at the door. I carefully stood up not wanting to wake Angel up. I walk to the door and open it. It was Mike carrying two plates with food.

"Hello Master Jack I thought you and Kimberley might be hungry." He said with a smile. I nodded smiling and grabbed one of the plates. But just then I heard a voice in my head. I close my eyes.

Don't take them son.

I froze.

They are poisoned. Also that is not Mike. He is being controlled.

'And why should I listen to you?' I ask although, I didn't know how, I did it.

Trust me son. Please. You know I care for all of you.

I don't know.

Please Jack.

I sighed and open my eyes. I push the plates to him. "No thanks Mike we're not hungry."

Mike's face darkened. "But Master Jack you-"I cut him off.

"I said NO leave NOW!"I exclaimed raising my voice a little. He glared. "As you wish Master. " I could sense the anger in him. I closed the door and started to walk back to my Angel. Suddenly something exploded behind me and threw me on the bed. I quickly shield Kim by taking her my arms shielding her from harm. Smoke surrounded the room and I didn't know what was going on. Kim shifted in her sleep so I kissed her cheek which made her smile but then turned into a frown. "Jack what's going on? I heard something."

The smoke cleared after a few minutes. "I don't know Kim. " I whispered to her.

I heard something or someone growl. I tighten my hold on Kim as she to me. I look at the door which was now to pieces on the ground. It was Mike. His eyes were dark red like blood. In each hand he held a shotgun.

Kim gasps in fear. He aimed for us and I immediately took Kim and ran to the balcony. There wasn't any other way to escape. I look at my scared Angel. "We have to jump." She nodded hesitantly and gripped on me and hard as she can. I made sure; I was holding her close to me as I can.

I jumped and tried to take all the impact while Kim screamed. I groaned hard as my back hit the ground. I was breathing heavily and my eyes were closing. But I remembered that he's after us so, I stood up with Kim in my hold and started running towards the mountains. While I ran, I took a look at Kim who was grasping my shirt tightly with closed eyes. She had a few scratches on her face. I can't believe I put her in danger; I'm such a bad boyfriend. I'll have to take her somewhere safe. But where? I reached the top of the hill and it hit me. THE TUNNEL but I don't know what will happen if I go there with Kim. My Angel. I close my eyes for a moment because I heard a voice.

Don't worry son I'm here to help you.

YOU AGAIN! Why are you even helping me?

I will explain it all later now listen!

Okay.

Your grandpa told you about it didn't he?

No he didn't. I found out own my own that it's a place where souls were judged after death and where the wicked received punishment.

Yes that's right but there also is something more. When you enter the tunnel, you will be tested trough very dangerous challenges which may even kill you. But if you pass them and reach the end of the tunnel, the grand master will be there waiting for you to judge you on your task. Do you accept?

I do accept and I have to go there now right?

Yes.

What about Mike? What will happen to him?

For now you just have to get to the tunnel. You will have to deal with him later.

Okay but wait what about my girlfriend?

It's your responsibility to protect her at all cost.

I know and I wouldn't have it in any other way.

I snap my eyes open and start running towards the tunnel. I look at my beautiful girlfriend who is sleeping. I kiss her head and hug her close to me. She buries her head in my shoulder and kisses my neck. I smile but suddenly, I feel a sharp pain in the spot where Kim kissed. I stop and let go of Kim slowly. She turns to me.

"Are you okay?"

I grip my neck in pain. Then I felt it. The curse mark. It's growing stronger. "Jack?" I hear a soft voice say. My vision darkened and I stood up. I close my eyes and control my anger. After a few moments I calmed down and open them. I turn around to see a very scared Kim.

I walk to her slowly and hug her. She hesitates at first but then relaxes and hugs back.

We pull away and I kiss her sweet lips. She immediately wraps her arms around my neck and pulls me close. I wrap my arms around her petite waste and pull her closer to me. After minutes of making out we pull away.

"We should get going. " I said as I caress her face. She nodded. I let her go and bent down. "Get on my back. " She hopped on my back and I started running to our destination.

At the same time in the mansion.

Olivia's POV

The emergency room

I finished wrapping Jessica's wound. Good thing it wasn't deep. Right now I am searching the cabinet for a medicine while Jessica was lying in the bed. I found it in the highest cabinet. I took out a pill and grabbed a glass of water. I went over to Jessica who was looking at the ceiling.

"Here Jess. " I said as I handed her the pill. She slowly stood up wincing and sighed.

"Thanks. " She murmured as she took the pill and drank all the water.

She lied back down but didn't look at me.

"Jess I'm-" I started to say something but she cut me off.

"Olivia don't. Okay? I know what you're going to say and can we deal with it after this whole situation."

"No Jess we have to talk now. I know-"She cut me off again.

"Wait where are Jack and Kim?"

"Honestly I don't know. I send Jerry and Grace to get an hour ago and they still aren't back. Do u think something's up? "

"Definitely."

"Maybe we-"I was cut off by someone bursting through the door breaking it. Jess and I took cover behind the bed. Jerry and Grace came in running with scared looks on their faces.

I and Jess look at them confused. "Guys what's going on?"

They only pointed behind us and we stood up to see what's going on.

Just then my eyes widened at…
