Chapter 14: Down the well
Katari's POV:
I held my pack, Onee-chan to my right and Tara-chan to my left.
Tara sighed. "I'll go first." She went to the well and jumped down.
I grabbed Mika's hand. I needed my older sister's comfort.
"Don't worry little one. I'm here."
We jumped down together. A blue light surrounded us. I saw Tara sitting in a tree waiting.
"Where to?" she asked.
I looked to Mika.
"Tsunade's."
Naruto's POV:
"Believe it!" I shouted. I was training with teme, Sakura, Kiba, Hinata, and Bushy Brows. I was fighting Sasuke and was able to land a hit to his stomach.
Then the Anbu came. " Inuzuka Kiba, you have been summoned to the hokage's."
I saw Kiba nod and go with him. "I'll see you guys later!" he shouted, Akamaru following.
1 hour later . . . . .
We all just finished training and were relaxing.
"Hey look. Kiba's back!" Sakura shouted.
We all looked to see Kiba, 3 girls following. 2 of them looked our age, 17, and the other looked 15. Then I recognized one. The memory came to me. "Zuki-chan!"
Mika's POV:
I saw Tsunade dismiss someone.
Tara tapped on the window.
Tsunade jumped but opened the window.
Kat jumped in first followed by Tara and me.
"Katari! Mika-zuki! What are you doing here?" he said, anger etching her voice.
I smirked. She remembered us. "Hello to you too Lady Hokage. One of your shinobi is in danger." I stated. I explained how Saku was Tara's brother and in love with Katari. I explained how Katari rejected him because she liked Kiba. Kat turned red when I said that. I also explained how Saku found the well and came here to kill Kiba.
"So in conclusion, we're here to bring the self-centered idiot back." Tara concluded.
Tsunade nodded and called for an Anbu.
One with a bird mask appeared.
"Please bring Inuzuka Kiba to my office." Tsunade ordered.
The Anbu nodded and disappeared in a whirl of leaves.
"I'll never get use to that." I heard Kat mutter.
A few minutes later the Anbu returned with Kiba. By the look in Katari's eyes, she still liked him. Kiba didn't look different. He still had that wild brown hair, red markings, same coat, and little dog following him around.
"Hey! Katari? And aren't you the girl Naruto…"
After seeing me cringe, he shut up.
Tsunade spoke. "Kiba, these girls are here to protect you."
Tara answered. "My crazy brother is out to kill you. Don't ask, my brother is mental in the head."
Katari mouthed thank you to Tara for not telling him why.
"How does he know me?" Kiba asked.
I sucked in my breath but suddenly came with an answer. "He over heard Katari talking about people she met here and wanted to see how good of a fighter you are." I continued before Kiba could say another word. "Look. Point blank, Saku is a power hungry self-centered idiot who wants you dead. We just want to bring him home. But remember, his giant ego means he won't give up which means we'll have to bring him back by force. It won't be easy. Raccoon demons, like kitsunes, are known for trickery. He'll use every trick he has."
Kiba nodded.
For the next hour, we planned how we were to protect Kiba. One of us would follow him, while the other 2 scouted the village. It felt good to do something than approve laws, watch over the kingdom, and all that crap. It felt good to be back. Then came the big question.
"Where will you 3 stay?" Tsunade asked.
Katari looked at me with puppy eyes.
I nodded.
"SASUKE!" Katari shouted, happy that she'll see her foster brother.
I sighed. I never got along with the chicken-ass but for Kat's sake, I'd put up with him. Soon we left. We trailed behind Kiba as he led us to Sasuke. "And Naruto." I silently added. The dull ache in my chest grew. Then Kiba stopped and I heard it.
"Zuki-chan!"
I looked up and saw an older version of my, I mean Naruto. He was taller, that's for sure. His hair was still spiked and his eyes still held that adorable innocence. My tail lashed out behind me. I touched my own whiskers mark. "You guys, I'm gonna take the first scouting. Katari, explain everything to Sasuke and get settled. Tara watch Kiba." I directed.
They nodded.
Before I could jump onto the nearest roof and run HE spoke again.
"Zuki-chan how are you……….."
I shot him a cold glare that made him shut up pretty quick. "Naruto Uzumaki, I expect if you want to keep your tongue, never call me that. I'm on a mission to bring back someone from my world and then I'm gone. I'm not here to listen to your insignificant apology."
Then I ran before anyone could see the tears on my face.
Katari's POV:
I smelled the tears before she ran. Poor Onee-chan. I looked to Sasuke and smiled. "Onii-chan!" I ran up and hugged him.
Sasuke smiled his rare smiled. "Katari, what are you doing here?" he asked.
I frowned, a sad glaze coating my eyes. "I'll explain at home."
Half an Hour later………………..
"This isn't good." Sasuke muttered.
I was still ranting. "I am flippen no ones bitch! God! Can't that idiot take no for an answer?! ARRGG!" I yelled. Thankfully, Sasuke put up with me, knowing full well how annoying fan girls/boys could be. He just hid his frustration. I flopped down onto the chair.
"Mika is going to be back soon." Sasuke said.
I nodded. Just then, Onee-chan jumped in front the window.
"Tara is staying near Kiba's house. I'm going to sleep. Sasuke same room as last time?" she asked.
He nodded and Mika walked off.
This was going to be a LONG mission.
