The Love Game

"I have some change" He shrugged

"Just meet me in an hour, outside your house" He said quickly as he was half out her bedroom door, giving her no time for her own response.

Chapter 13

5:57

Shit. Just minutes before she had arranged to meet Toby and she hadn't even got dressed yet. Jumping across the room to her wardrobe, she quickly scanned through it, looking for something appropriate for tonight. After a minute or so she settled on a short and strapless, lace dress. Securing a belt around it and adding some small black heels, she took one last glance in the mirror, before rushing downstairs.

Toby had already let himself inside and as usual stood impatiently, tapping his foot and staring at his watch. Hearing footsteps heading down the stairs, he spun round.

"Woah"

Perhaps the only thought processing through his head right now. Her makeup was simple and her hair was left natural and curly, yet she still managed to look hotter than most girls had ever looked.

"Ah a compliment" She smirked, walking towards Toby.

"No not a compliment, just a woah. If you want a compliment, I suggest you put in more effort" Toby winked back at her.

Spencer squinted her eyes at him, punching him playfully. Obviously, he was back to his usual charm after begging for her forgiveness earlier. Which reminds her she was still very annoyed with him for what he said and in a way upset. She pushed the feeling to the back of her mind, she was probably only upset that she wasn't close to winning yet.

"You sure, you don't want me to drive?" She asked, as he opened up passenger door for her.

"No, consider it as part of the apology" He replied, Jumping into the truck at the other side.

Oh so that's how he thought things worked; insult her and then just take her out for a meal and everything would be fine. He was going to have to put in a lot more effort than that. She didn't care if they weren't actually dating, because he had actually offended her and therefore making her feel better wouldn't be quite so easy.

"I don't forgive you, not yet" She said quite bluntly.

Toby looked at her puzzled, as if he didn't hear her properly. Was she actually mad at him or was this just Spencer being awkward? Maybe if he had said that at the beginning of the bet, he'd of meant it but yesterday he didn't. No matter how much Noel tried to wind him up, he knew he didn't love Spencer, but he definitely didn't mean any of the stuff he said.

"Oh come on. I didn't mean it" He looked at her apologetically, guilt twisting his features.

"And how would you like it, if I offended your hard abs or your pretty eyes, or your stupid but totally cute smirk"

She quickly shut herself up, realizing what she was saying. Praying Toby hadn't been listening, but that 'stupid but totally cute smirk' was on his face, letting her now that he had.

"That's not really offensive Spence, in fact its quite complimentary" He laughed, blushing slightly.

In all honesty, he'd heard it all before, but mainly off girls he'd had a quick fling with. When Spencer said it however he couldn't help but smile, it actually meant something to him. Weird, how compliments off Spencer could make him feel happy.

"Oh shut up. Well you're a terrible driver anyway"

"Oh, hitting me where it hurts, my driving skills" He said, sarcastically putting one hand on his heart.

It may of been the first insult she could think of but it was true. They'd been driving for 20 minutes now, yet it should have only been a 5 minute drive. Evidently they were lost.

"Toby, do you know where your going?" She asked already knowing the answer.

"Yeah, why do you ask?"

"Because we were going to Rosewood country club and were now in Millstone"

She pointed to the 'You're now entering Millstone' sign as he drove past.

She made a good point. He'd been following the directions he'd printed offline though, so how was it possible they were here? Perhaps he got distracted, and took a wrong turn in somewhere.

"Okay, we're lost" He admitted, pulling up at the side of the road.

From his pocket, he pulled out his phone, clicking on the map app. 'No signal'. Wasn't that just typical.

"Er I guess I'll go see if there's a map or maybe ask someone if they know which way to head" He added.

Wherever they was, it looked completely deserted. They had to be some people somewhere though, it was a town after all, no town is just empty. Opening the door, Toby jumped out.

"I'll be back in a minute" He assured Spencer seeing her uneasy look.

Spencer just rolled her eyes. If he thought she was waiting in this creeps ville by herself, he was crazy. Copying Toby, she opened the door and jumped out.

"I'm coming with you"

Okay so I'm sorry but the quickest I can update is once a week. If I ever can do sooner I will, but most of the time I will just update once a week. Anyway I hope you liked this chapter, I've had the worst writers block recently but I hope this was okay.

Something I have just realized is that they actually went to Rosewood Country Club in like chapter 3, so let's just pretend they went somewhere else then because I completely forgot about that :/

Thankssss x
