Hey peeps! :) I know its been a while and I'm sorry for that! :( Finding the time to sit down to write is more difficult than you thought! But here I am now!
Dragon Age Inquisition is finally out! Woooooo! I've been playing hard!
Anyway, here's another short banter. This one is a bit different. A touch of romance in here. Ooooo :) Hopefully I can keep uploading stories and writing my heart out! I'm not ending this journey yet! Stay in tune for moar! :)
The Inquisitor was surrounded. Many voices entered her thoughts, making her head throb, and this time she had no where to run.
"Trevelyan, we should proceed with this mission with force. They will be too busy with our soldiers on the front line to see you and our companions slip through the sewers."
"I do not think that will work Cullen. The enemy soldiers will be on their guard all around the fort, blocking every entrance. We must be stealthy."
"You two are always about the fighting. Maybe if we hold a truce, we can work out a solution. Let's make allies instead of enemies."
The Inquisitor's advisors argued about their ideas, each pushing their plan forward, saying it would be better; all at the same time. The Inquisitor groaned quietly and rubbed her temples with her index fingers.
"Please stop talking," she mumbled. No one around her could hear the faint words. She tried again, but with confidence.
"STOP SPEAKING!" She stood up abruptly from her chair, knocking it to the floor. Her advisors grew quiet, all shocked from their fearless leader's outburst. The Inquisitor cringed at her own actions, knowing they were a bit aggressive, but if she was to be respected, she must be forceful. She hid her true feelings behind her annoyed facial features and proceeded.
She glared at them, holding her arms behind her and lifted her chin. "Each of you I respect greatly and your plans, but if this keeps continuing, the Inquisition will surely fall apart." She paused and stared into each of their eyes, searching for any hint of doubt or insolence. The Inquisitor then walked slowly from her side of the table to the other side. The three advisors stood tall and at attention, like a soldier would to his or her superior officer. She paced in front of them, her eyes, almost like daggers, piercing their armors.
When she had enough, the Inquisitor briskly went out of the room and closed the door behind her. Her three advisors silently stood in place until they were certain the Inquisitor was gone.
"Well that was awkward." Josephine let out a long sigh and slouched in place.
Lelianna stared sadly towards the closed door, where the Inquisitor disappeared, and shook her head softly. "My actions were not courteous. It was uncalled for me to speak inappropriately." She turned to Cullen, who stood quietly next to her. His eyes mutely watched the stone floor, pale and empty. He gradually parted his lips, as if to speak, but he halted and closed them instead.
Cullen cleared his throat loudly and excused himself from the two ladies and walked out of the room. Josephine and Lelianna glanced at each other without a word, but did not follow after him.
The military advisor calmly paced himself down the hallway, up the stairs and around several corners of the stone hold. He soon found himself at the door of the Inquisitor's room. While he was standing on one side, gaining the courage to face Trevalyn, she was on the other, staring out an open window.
A light knock sounded from across her room.
"Come in," she responded.
Without looking, she already knew who it was. Her knight in shining armor. Ser Cullen. She felt his steady breath on the back of her neck, his gaze upon her, and soon his burly arms were wrapping around her slender waist. She let out a relieved sigh. Cullen's body tensed behind her.
A moment of silence passed between them. Only the chirps of little birds and the faint small talk of men and women in the courtyard could be heard.
"I must apologize." The Inquisitor held her breath from Cullen's sudden words. She has never heard him apologize to anyone. He would never admit he was wrong in a situation, but maybe for her, he would…
A gentle squeeze from Cullen's strength brought her back from day dreaming and in return she placed her hands on his.
"It's all right," she barely whispered.
Obviously dissatisfied with her response, Cullen grunted and gently grabbed Trevalyn. He swiftly twirled her around to look her in the eyes.
Her pale grey eyes were wide and staring him down in shock. He only smiled at her reaction. His hand slowly reached for the side of her slender face and gently caressed her rosy cheek.
"I love you. You know that, right?"
The Inquisitor's heart lurched in her chest and searing heat kissed at her cheeks. She continued to watch Cullen, gazing at his sharp facial features and taking in all detail. He loved her and she knew she loved him back.
"I-," Cullen started to speak again, but was cut off completely from his lover's sudden outburst of lust. They embraced passionately on the stone balcony, loose clothing swaying gently in the frigid winds of the snowy mountains of the Frostbacks. The world they knew grew dark around them, time standing still, and no one could ruin this brief moment of happiness, not even Varric.
Soon Trevalyn realized the warm was drifting away and she opened her eyes to see Cullen pull away. She regained full conscious and blankly looked at him perplexed. He suddenly cleared his scratchy throat, loud enough to start an avalanche. "I think maybe we should get back to the War Table… You know before people start wondering…" He trailed off and nervously tugged at his collar.
The Inquisitor simply laughed at his shy demeanor. She cautiously looped her arm around his and the two walked leisurely back to the Command room where Lelianna and Josephine were waiting patiently.
