Chapter 14

Round two

Hi Everyone! I hope you'll enjoy this chapter, thanks again to Lizzabet my Beta for her help!

The day after Penelope became one of them, Morgan saw the BAU coming back. He wasn't really surprised; they knew it would happen, after all Emily's doll called them. His friends and his girlfriend weren't surprised either, Penelope was a little afraid but also excited by this. It was her first step as a serial killer and she was impatient to confront the FBI, even if she still wondered what kind of weapon she should choose. She liked knives but she also thought about using a hammer. They decided they would murder again soon to greet the feds and this time Garcia would come with them. Except for her previous boss she never killed anyone.

Garcia had taken a day off pretending to be sick to stay with Emily; the brunette decided it would be good for Penelope to have some practice in torture. She led her into the doll's room and she immediately feel in love with Emily's collection.

"They are so splendid! I love them all, really it's just impossible to say which one is the prettier. Is that you're living doll here?"

She looked at Jordan who was sleeping for now.

"It's Helena, don't talk to her directly and ignore her a little at first. Treat her like any other doll."

"That's a part of breaking her mind?"

"Yes."

Penelope nodded, they told her about Jordan too and though the idea seemed odd, she liked it. It was sure weird but the woman was very beautiful and she couldn't reproach them the fact they wanted her so badly.

"Their dresses are wonderful too."

"I made some myself."

"Really?"

"Yeah, for example I made all my living doll's dresses."

Penelope was impressed, 'Helena' had a magnificent black and white dress, she would have killed for such beautiful clothes. Jordan, woke up slowly, she saw Garcia and her heart beat faster. Who was she? This woman was looking at her with fascination.

"Please, help me…"

"She talks!" Exclaimed Garcia, "That's a good bonus"

"Isn't it?"

Jordan was stupefied and desperate, for a moment she thought - she hoped – this woman would help her but obviously it wasn't her intention. She knew this woman wasn't acting this way to fool Emily, Jordan could see craziness in her eyes.

"What's her name? I don't remember it," asked Garcia.

"Helena."

Jordan felt a rush of anger at this, to hear those demented women talking as if she was a freaking toy fed the fire in her. She hated them; she hated that woman who was trying to break her instead of helping her. Penelope touched her hair as if she was inspecting an object but Jordan raised a sore hand and slapped her fingers away.

"My name is Jordan!"

Penelope was bewildered at this, she thought this woman would have been broken after the treatment she endured but obviously she wasn't. Emily caressed her captive's cheek with her knife.

"I thought you learned but you obviously need another lesson."

"Can I participate?"

"Of course, you're one of us now. Helena, this is Penelope I want you to be good like the other dolls are."

"I am not a doll, Emily," replied she in a weak but firm voice, "I am an agent."

She knew she would pay dearly for such words but it was so good to say this. Emily gagged her and seized her by the armpit.

"Help me," asked she to Garcia, "we will put her on the chair, I don't want to stain the bed."

They transported her on the chair and Jordan let out a muffled scream, her broken leg was hurting so much! Emily gave her knife to Penelope, when Jordan saw this, she suddenly felt very scared, she didn't want another torture session so soon, she couldn't handle it. She moaned and cried; the painful memory of the doctor cutting one of her fingers was too fresh in her mind. Penelope made a big but superficial cut on her arm.

"You have to make it slightly deeper if you want it to really hurt someone. Like this…"

She made another cut on Jordan's arm who cried in pain. Penelope made another, similar to Emily's one.

"I like the knife but I think I should try the hammer."

"Okay, do it on her other arm."

Jordan felt her blood turn cold, Penelope exited the room and Emily stayed here.

"Sorry Helena but you should know better than defying me."

She couldn't answer anything because of the gag but even without it she wouldn't have tried to say something, Emily wouldn't listen. Garcia was back very soon with the hammer; Jordan closed her eyes she didn't want to see this. Feeling it was enough.

Penelope felt strangely light and powerful with that hammer in her hands. For a moment she felt some pity for the doll, but she also remembered that she was a fed before, one of the people who did nothing to stop Emily's father, one of the people who pretended to defend the population but didn't give a shit for people like her. She raised her hammer.

Pain spread through Jordan's body as her bones cracked under the blow, she screamed in pain and cried even more. Her body was shaking badly and her arm seemed to burn.

"That was great Penelope!"

"Yeah! I loved it, I will keep the hammer, it will match well with Derek's bat, just like your knife and Spencer's axe match!"

"We slice while you and Derek break the bones…Pretty romantic," said Emily.

While they were talking, Jordan felt number and vanished out of pain and exhaustion. Seeing her doll wouldn't be available anymore for now, they cleaned and bandaged her wounds before putting her back on the bed.

"I am sorry for breaking her arm like this, it's your doll after all."

"Spencer will heal her when he gets home," explained Emily, "Don't worry, you did well, you found your weapon and that's the most important part."

"When will I kill someone with you?"

"Eager, aren't you? Well we are searching for a good target, once we find one it will be okay. Do you have someone to suggest."

"Hum…No, except for Mr Salts I don't know who else could be a good prey."

"Alright, let's have some tea."

They left the room, leaving an unconscious Jordan alone.

The BAU team reached the police station as soon as possible, though the previous case was exhausting they were all feeling full of energy. Somehow being in Las Vegas was a triumph, the war wasn't over. They weren't done with the killers and most importantly: they would find Jordan Todd.

Just like the first time they meet, Chief Sanders was glad to see them.

"It's good to see you again. You came back just when their killing spree is on again."

"What do you mean?" Asked Hotch in fear

"We found a corpse this morning, they found another dumpsite in the desert but they didn't try to bury this one."

"Who was the victim?"

"Edward Salts, he…Oh sorry, you thought I was talking about your missing colleague?"

"She called us yesterday," said Hotch, "she is still prisoner if her captors didn't decide to get…rid of her. That's why we are here."

"How did she call?"

"From her captors' lair I guess. But she didn't have the time to tell us anything useful, we just know she is alive. Tell us more about that man."

"He is the boss of a computer firm; he fits your victimology perfectly. He was very rich, three people entered the house and his girlfriend was tied in her room. He was kidnapped, killed and then thrown in a secondary location."

"Alright, Rossi and Blake go to the morgue, JJ go talk to the girlfriend and call Lynch to tell him to do some research about Edward Salts, Gideon and I will go to the crime scene."

"I'll take you there," said Sanders

Somehow it was as if they never left. Gideon and Hotch drove with Sanders to the crime scene; it was a spot in the desert just like the precedent dumpsite, the location just changed. Two cops were already here, the agents couldn't remember their name but they participated to the investigation last time.

"Hi, Agent Hotchner and Gideon."

"Officers Morgan and McGee, nice to see you again even under such circumstances," said the muscular black man.

Hotch nodded, he remembered this guy was flirting sometimes with Jordan. He was also the one who lived with one of the witnesses.

"I am glad to see you back."

"They won't escape this time," Hotch assured.

'Oh but we will agent Hotchner,' Morgan thought.

He only nodded in a fake determination. Meanwhile, Rossi and Blake were listening to the legist. Apparently, the guy had been killed because of stabs; he got a wound at the back of the head that was possibly made by a bat but all the other wounds had been done with a knife.

"So once again, one of them decided to work solo," said Blake.

"Well it's strange, I mean they were together to capture him, so why wasn't he killed by the rest of the group?"

"Maybe one of them had something personal against him and wanted to do that alone."

"That's possible. Something else also bothers me, see the stabs? Usually it's…I don't know, it's more precise, you can see it's made by someone with experience, here it's not the case."

"Maybe one of them decided to use another weapon," suggested Blake.

"No, they are at ease with what they have. I wonder if it was really made by them."

"You think it's a copycat?"

"Well the kidnapping was well made. If they are copycats maybe they did the abduction well but when they had to kill…They panicked and only one of them found the courage to do it," said Rossi, "but we can't be sure for now, let's keep that theory in case."

"If one of them had something personal against him," began Blake, "maybe it's the reason of the lack of precision. I mean the one who did this may have lost control completely because of the anger, their rage was even worse than usual."

"Maybe…"

Once the autopsy was over, they decided to find their colleagues, but they weren't done yet. JJ was almost finished with the girlfriend, Lynch was still making some research and Gideon and Hotch were still at the crime scene. They just sat in an office and decided to talk.

"You know," said Blake, "there is something I don't understand."

"What?"

"Well, they are obviously confident and usually killers like them try to inject themselves in the investigation or send messages to the authorities. Here there was no letter to the press or you."

"Jordan was kidnapped and Seaver murdered, it was a message."

"You sure? I mean they could have taunted everyone easily."

David was about to say yes, but he realised she was right. It was very weird that no other message was sent to them, they could have sent them something, like a letter saying: 'will you ever see her again?" Or 'Find her if you can." They didn't get anything like this. Suddenly, Rossi wondered if her position in the FBI was the only real reason of Jordan's kidnapping and if they had met the killers already.

Hope you enjoyed! Some reviews would be very nice!
