Chapter 14: Fire and Thunder

A cover of "Simple Man" from Shinedown played from Chazz's PDA as he dressed for the dance
"Need help?" A loud voice rang through Chazz's room as he looked at the Black Tie
"No… mom taught me how to do this long ago" Chazz smiled as he effortlessly put on his tie
"You're going with the girl that has flame-colored hair, yes?" the voice asked warmly
"Yeah" Chazz grinned at the thought of Triss and the night in front of him as he finished his attire. He had on grey dress pants, a white button-down shirt, a grey blazer over it, and a black tie. He picked up his black shades and put them on as he took one last look in the mirror
"Thoughts?" Chazz asked his duel spirit
"Very nice. I'm sure she will be impressed" The dragon smiled
Chazz turned to Light and Darkness Dragon and bowed
"Great! Am I missing anything?" Chazz asked as he walked towards the door
"Nothing you need. You may consider grabbing a rose to give her, though" The Dragon replied
"Right… good call! Alright, see you later!" Chazz beamed as the dragon disappeared
'Wish I could communicate with him without talking' Chazz thought
The time was 5:27 PM. He was to meet Triss at 6 at the Obelisk Girl's Dorm to escort her to the dance, so he had more than enough time
'Let's see… if I can't find a flower or something' Chazz thought as he stepped outside and looked around the tree lines
'That's it!' Chazz thought as he broke out into a jog
A few minutes later
"Familiar spot," Chazz said to himself as he came to a large clearing with a pond in the middle of it. The area was beautiful, and he'd never forget his first date with Triss here
"Now where… aha!" Chazz mumbled as he saw the rose bushes on the far end of the clearing
"Right then… you like nice" Chazz said as he went to pick a rose before screeching in pain
"Fucker…" Chazz whispered as he nursed the wound on his finger. The rose bush had pricked him with its thorns
Chazz carefully removed the rose from the bush this time and made sure the stem had no thorns on it that could cut his beautiful date
'Hope she'll like this' Chazz thought as he made for the Obelisk Girl's Dorm
5:54 PM
"You guys look nice!" Chazz said as he noticed Kat and Bastion
Kat was wearing a beautiful silver and gold dress that hugged her figure and stopped just above her feet. The chest area had gold trimmings and outlines, drawing attention to her chest area and, in particular, her cleavage. The dress was solid until her mid-thigh, where it turned into a lace fabric that was see-through except for the beautiful silver flower designs on it. This allowed her to show off her long legs quite nicely. Her long, wavy hair had been dyed a dark chestnut, which accentuated her gold hoop earrings
Bastion had on a dark-blue suit with a white shirt under it and a black bowtie
"You too! Triss hasn't stopped talking about you all day" Kat giggled as she and Bastion passed Chazz
Chazz chuckled as he swelled with confidence, then noticed Jaden waiting outside the gate as well
"Nice" Jaden smirked as Chazz approached him
"Mhm… you too" Chazz complemented
Jaden had on black dress pants, a black button-down shirt, black blazer, and silver tie
"Chazz looks quite nice, I think," Light and Darkness Dragon said as he appeared next to Chazz, startling both Chazz and Jaden
"Oh!" Jaden said as he jumped back a bit
"You can see him?" Chazz asked bewildered
"Yeah… I can see him. Can you see mine?" Jaden asked as he pointed to a demonic figure next to him that had just appeared
It was clear to Chazz that whatever she was, she was female in nature. She had two large demonic bat wings behind her and her hair was half white and half indigo. Her eyes were different colors, one orange, and one turquoise, as well as a large vertical eye on her forehead. Her puffy lips were baby blue and her skin was pink
'Curvy…' Chazz thought, before shaking his head and sending that thought out of his mind
"Hey sexy!" the spirit winked at Chazz, causing his chest to flutter and him to become very uncomfortable
'A weird… kinky demon thing thinks I'm sexy… is there a textbook somewhere that tells me how to feel about this?' Chazz thought
"Hi… what's your name?" Chazz asked Jaden's duel spirit
"Yubel" she grinned as she mentally undressed Chazz with her eyes
"And you are?" Jaden asked, looking to Light and Darkness Dragon
"Uh… I'd rather not say yet. He's a card I intend to use soon, you'll learn then!" Chazz smirked
'He might be too much for you, Jaden' Chazz thought
"Alrighty! Can't wait! How long have you had a duel spirit for, Chazz?" Jaden exclaimed
"About a week" Chazz replied plainly as he looked at Light and Darkness Dragon
"Hey boys!" came two feminine voices to Chazz's left
Chazz turned and gasped as he saw Triss and Alexis walk towards him and Jaden
"Fuck me…" Chazz whispered to himself, certain no one else could hear him
Triss had on a baby blue lace dress split into two parts. The top covered her arms and all of her chest and stopped over her belly button. The arms and chest area above her breasts were see-through lace, revealing her tan skin. The area covering her breasts and stomach was solid and had straps going over her shoulders, which were visible due to the see-through part of her top. The bottom piece was a multi-layered lace masterpiece that extended from her waist to the floor, covering her feet entirely. Her flaming red hair cascaded down and ended several inches past her shoulders. To top it off, she had two green and gold earrings that accentuated her green eyes. Chazz couldn't help but notice the cute red freckles that covered her nose and extended across her cheeks just under her eyes
Alexis was wearing a silky red dress with lace covering the silk in the chest area. The dress started with a red collar around her lower neck that then extended out as it descended her chest, leaving her shoulders and arms completely visible but successfully covering her breasts in their entirety. The dress hugged her form all the way to her waist, where it then bloomed out slightly. The dress stopped in the front at her knees but extended how to her calves in the back. She had on icicle earrings that were bronze. The earring started down from her ear with a half-inch chain that was so small it could barely be seen and then turned into a small ruby bead, which then led into the bronze icicle, ending with a pointed edge near the collar of her dress. Simple, yet elegant.
"You look…" Chazz gulped as he looked at Triss
'Fucking hot' Chazz thought
"Beautiful" he finished, making Triss blush and grin
"Thanks… you're looking handsome, yourself" Triss complemented
"Thanks" Chazz felt himself turning red as Triss snuggled into his arm
"Ready big guy?" Triss giggled as she took Chazz's arm
"For anything… with you" Chazz said as they walked off, leaving Jaden and Alexis
"That's so sweet" Triss giggled as they walked ahead of the other couple
"Yeah, been rehearsing my lines all day," Chazz said as they both started laughing
"Seriously?" Triss asked in between laughs
"No… that seems pointless" Chazz laughed harder
"Oh! I totally forgot…" Chazz exclaimed as he rummaged around his pocket, pulling out a rose
"This… is for you" Chazz grinned as he handed the flower to Triss
Triss quickly snatched the flower from him and smelled it then grinned
'I thought all flowers smell bad, to be honest,' Chazz thought as he watched her
"I love it! Where'd you get it!?" Triss asked excitedly
"That place… you know the one" Chazz chuckled
"Oh yes… how could I forget? The monkey pond" Triss giggled
"The monkey pond? What a name" Chazz laughed
"So, what're we doing tonight?" Triss asked curiously as she stopped leaning on Chazz
"Dancing? I would assume?" Chazz asked in a tone that said 'Obviously'
"Ok smart guy… you know what I meant" Triss sighed but giggled afterward
"Dunno… what would you like to do?" Chazz asked as he tried to make eye contact
"Hmm… to be honest… I don't really care for dancing unless it's slow dancing" Triss chuckled
"Yeah… me either" Chazz grinned
"Let's just… hang out! We can talk while we watch everyone… then we'll slow dance to a few songs later" Triss said excitedly
"Sure! Sounds great to me" Chazz said happily as he opened the door for Triss
'What a relief… I suck at dancing' Chazz sighed in relief
"Mr. Princeton… Triss… nice to see you two tonight. May I see your tickets?" Banner beamed
"Sure, Banner. Here" Chazz said, grabbing the tickets from his pocket and showing them to Professor Banner
"Excellent! You may go in… enjoy your night" Banner smiled as he opened the door for them, letting the loud music spill out into the hall
"The Gym looks nice… let's find a table" Triss said as she looked around
"How about over there with them?" Triss asked, pointing to a table that had Syrus, Kat, Bastion, and a very beautiful, exotic-looking girl at the table
"Sure!" Chazz said, happy to be around his friends and curious as to who this mystery girl was
"Triss!" Kat exclaimed as she saw them approach
"Hi Kat," Triss and Chazz both said at the same time as they sat down
"I'm Chazz… Princeton" Chazz said as he extended a hand to the exotic bombshell next to him
"Vanessa Kennedy" the girl beamed, shaking hands with Chazz
"You have a date?" Triss asked as Kat started giggling
"…What?" Triss asked as she got a grin on her face
"She's my date" Syrus piped up, leaving shocked expressions on both Triss' and Chazz's face
'This girl is with Syrus? How!?' Chazz thought
"He's a cutie, isn't he?" Vanessa said as she snuggled next to Syrus
Vanessa was a brunette girl that stood about 5'3. She had brown eyes and was wearing gold hoop earrings. Her dress was beautiful, a silky coral-colored wonder. The torso area had silver lace designs on it while the rest of the dress cascaded to just above her feet. There was a large gap in the dress on the right side starting on her mid-thigh, allowing for most of her leg to be seen as she walked
Syrus had on black dress pants, a coral-colored shirt, a black blazer, and a black tie
"Uh… sure" Triss said awkwardly as she got closer to Chazz
"Those two don't seem to match" Triss whispered and giggled quietly
"Nope" Chazz laughed as quietly as he could
The song playing came to an end and the crowd fell silent in anticipation for what the next song would be
"Welcome to this year's dance everyone!" The DJ said on the microphone, conjuring up a massive cheer from the student body
"Let's start this off right!" The DJ clapped, getting a roar from most of the student body present
Suddenly, the room was filled with a noise that sounded like flies buzzing as "Boom Boom Pow" by The Black Eyed Peas started playing over the speakers
"Hell yeah!" Kat roared as she, Bastion, Syrus, and Vanessa all left the table at once to go dance
"You can dance if you want! I'll stay here" Triss offered politely
"I'm not doing anything without you," Chazz said warmly as Triss blushed and snuggled into his arm
"Oh look! There's Jay and Lexi!" Triss pointed to them as they ran to the dance floor
"Uh… is that Marik? With… Miss Fontaine?" Chazz laughed as he pointed to them
"Oh my God!" Triss busted out laughing
"Hey, they look pretty good!" Chazz admitted
"Yeah… look at Marik go! He's got some moves!" Triss giggled
"That's… Zane! Holy shit he's so good what the hell!? Look at him!" Chazz pointed excitedly to Zane and his date dancing
Suddenly, many of the people on the dance floor formed into a circle as Triss and Chazz saw Bastion and Zane start break dancing
"I can't see!" Triss exclaimed
"Let's go watch!" Chazz said, pulling Triss with him to the circle
As Triss and Chazz got closer, they could see Bastion and Zane having a dance battle in the middle of the circle
"KAISER! KAISER! KAISER!" was coming from most of the crowd as Zane put Bastion to shame
"Poor guy doesn't stand a chance…" Triss giggled
"No kidding… look at Zane go!" Chazz said in awe at Zane's expert moves, watching him flip and spin
Zane finally finished with pushing Bastion out of the circle, declaring his victory
"You did pretty well! Better than I expected, for sure!" Triss called to Bastion as he grinned
"Thanks!" he said
"WHO'S NEXT!?" Zane roared as the beat was about to drop
As soon as the beat dropped, Jaden jumped into the middle of the dance floor and showed off his expert dance moves
"GET HIM JADEN!" Chazz cheered
"Holy shit! Look at Jaden!" Triss said in awe as she watched Jaden do backflips and start spinning on his head
Jaden finally stopped spinning after a long 10-15 seconds and lightly pushed Zane
"Bring it!" Jaden challenged
Zane grinned and started break dancing just as well as Jaden had. The main difference was Zane was taller and bigger, allowing his moves to look much better
"KAISER! KAISER! KAISER!" The crowd chanted
Zane ended by patting Jaden on the head with his foot while doing a handstand
"I guess Zane won, then?" Chazz asked
"Yeah… I don't know, I thought Jaden did better, to be honest," Triss giggled as she and Chazz sat back down
"Wonder what's next… this dance is interesting" Triss laughed
Triss' question was answered when "I kissed a girl" by Katy Perry came over the speakers, and the composition of people on the dance floor changed dramatically. Most of the boys quickly sat down, leaving mostly girls on the dance floor
"Looks like Jaden and Alexis are sitting this one out… but everyone else is still in it!" Triss pointed to Kat, Bastion, Syrus, and Vanessa as they watched the girls dirty dance
Chazz did a fake yawn as he put his arm around Triss, pulling her in
"Wow… smooth" Triss giggled, making Chazz bust out with laughter
"You like that?" He asked, doubled over in laughter
"Sure" she grinned
"Uh… Kat?" Triss said, perking up as she noticed something odd on the dance floor
Kat and Vanessa were grinding on each other
"Uhhhhh" was all Chazz managed as he watched two very hot girls dance provocatively with each other
All at once, Vanessa pulled Kat into her and kissed her on the lips
Chazz fidgeted in his seat at the sight
"That your thing, Chazzy?" Triss giggled
"Meh… I prefer you" Chazz squeezed her warmly
"Wait… Chazzy?" Chazz asked all at once, making Triss laugh
"Yeah… Chazzy! Don't like it?" Triss asked in between laughs
"Can call me whatever you want, I guess" Chazz smiled
Chazz and Triss both noticed Vanessa kiss Syrus passionately
"WHOOOO!" Chazz and Jaden cheered, both grinning and laughing as they looked at each other afterward
"Man, he really lucked out!" Triss giggled
"Right? I want a kiss…" Chazz mumbled
"What was that?" Triss asked as she sat up and looked at Chazz
"Nothing!" Chazz blushed
"Nothing? Sounded like you said you wanted a kiss, to me" Triss giggled
"Maybe," Chazz said quietly, looking away from Triss
"Don't be embarrassed, Chazzy!" Triss said as she got closer to him
"Not… embarrassed" Chazz mumbled, though his red cheeks gave him away
"Am I making you nervous?" Triss whispered in Chazz's ear, sending a shock through his body and making his blood leave his brain and go somewhere else
"Yeah…" Chazz admitted, embarrassed
"Why?" Triss asked, tilting her head to the side cutely
"You're just… really…" Chazz stammered
"Really what?" Triss asked as she batted her eyelashes at him, torturing him
'Is it wrong that I'm enjoying this?' she thought with a silent laugh
"Really… hot" Chazz was as red as a solo cup
"Hot?" Triss giggled
"Yeah… brain can't come up with a better word at the moment… try again later" Chazz chuckled
"You're adorable" Triss giggled and leaned in, kissing Chazz on the cheek
"Satisfied?" Triss asked as she leaned back to examine his facial expressions
"Uh… ummm…" Chazz couldn't think of anything to say as Triss stared at him
"Cat got your tongue?" Triss asked as she tilted her head to the side again, letting her flaming red hair fall to the side
"Something like that" Chazz said as the two laughed
"Alright… I'll stop torturing you" Triss giggled as she snuggled into his chest again
Neither of them said anything for a long while as they listened to the music and watched their friends on the dance floor
"Hello, you two" Kat said as she sat down with them with a drink in her hand and Bastion close behind her
"Hi" Triss smiled, not taking her head off Chazz's chest
"You guys are cute," Kat said
"Chazz… you got uh… something on your cheek" Bastion laughed as he pointed to his right cheek
"Hmm?" Chazz asked as he wiped his cheek and checked his fingers, which were now red
"Oops!" Triss giggled as she noticed the kiss print on Chazz's cheek
"Nice…" Kat giggled as Chazz turned red
"Ignore them" Triss whispered, going back to leaning on Chazz
"Miss Merigold!" Marik's voice rang out
"Marik!" Triss jumped up and hugged him
"You look absolutely smashing tonight, my dear" Marik grinned
"Thanks!... Nice suit!" Triss complemented
Marik had on black dress pants, a black shirt, a purple blazer that matched his eye color, and a cream-colored tie – matching his hair color
"Many thanks. Oh, and this is my lovely date… Fonda Fontaine" Marik said as he gestured to Miss Fontaine
Ms. Fontaine had on an elegant off-shoulder green emerald dress. It had lace straps that hung onto her biceps while the rest of the dress hugged her curves tightly, cascading to the floor where it covered her feet. Her red hair cascaded down to just below her shoulders. She had on her usual oval purple earrings
"You two are dating?" Chazz grinned
"I said she's my date… not that we're dating, you oaf" Marik glared at him
"I mean… it's an obvious connection to make" Chazz said
"Honestly, Miss Merigold, what do you see this in buffoon?" Marik laughed
"He's not a buffoon!" Triss said angrily
"Yikes…" Kat whispered to Bastion
"He's smart and very sweet! He's also super romantic, I'll have you know! My boyfriend cares about me!" Triss defended Chazz valiantly
'Boyfriend…' Chazz thought as his face lit up
"I think you stepped in it" Fontaine whispered as she giggled
"Yes, it does appear that way doesn't it?" Marik snickered
"My apologies, Triss. I meant no offense, I was simply having some fun. I'll excuse myself so I don't interrupt your evening further" Marik said as he tried to suppress his laughter
"Good!" Triss yelled, but then started giggling, letting Marik know she wasn't actually mad
"Remind me not to get on your bad side" Chazz chuckled as he pulled Triss into his chest
"Will do" Triss giggled
"This song seems familiar, but I can't place it," Chazz said as he listened to the lyrics
"It's Britney Spears… don't remember what it's called. Think it's almost over" Triss said
"Alright, everyone! This next one is a special request… it's salsa time!" The DJ declared
The entire dance floor quickly emptied, leaving only Jaden, Alexis, Marik, Fonda Fontaine, Zane, and his Date
"Looks like the lovebirds are finally going to dance again!" Triss giggled, pointing to Jaden and Alexis
"Yeah, they've been practicing their salsa all week. I'm sure Jaden asked the DJ for this specifically" Chazz laughed
"Oh man…" Chazz laughed as he saw Ms. Fontaine leave the dance floor, leaving Marik alone
"I need a partner!" Marik yelled, looking around with a big grin
Triss sighed and got up after no one else volunteered
"Was wondering if you were going to help him" Chazz smirked
"Yeah, I won't leave him alone… but I have no idea how to do this… don't laugh at me!" Triss warned as she left to dance with Marik
Marik and Triss exchanged some words that Chazz couldn't hear, but he saw they were both bubbly and ready to have fun
'This should be interesting to watch' Chazz thought. He couldn't shake the small feeling of jealousy that he had upon seeing Triss dance with Marik
"Let the music begin!" The DJ said as the song came over the speakers
Marik and Triss did a simple step-touch dance where they just moved back and forth a lot with a few twirls throughout the dance. Zane and his partner didn't have a great idea as to how to salsa properly, but they enjoyed themselves nonetheless
Chazz tried to watch Triss exclusively, but his attention was quickly stolen by Jaden and Alexis
"Wow!" Chazz exclaimed as he leaned forward
"Those two are going ham! What the hell?" Kat laughed as she and Bastion moved closer to Chazz to watch intently
Several minutes went by as Jaden and Alexis did many twirls and lots of fancy footwork as both of them shook their hips and asses as hard as they could
Alexis stood in front of Jaden and grabbed his neck as he picked her up and spun her around. Chazz didn't really know how to salsa, but he could tell that was hard to do
"Goodness me!" Bastion said as he watched the salsa duo as Kat busted out laughing
"Look at the others! They've stopped dancing to watch!" Kat roared with laughter as she pointed to Marik, Triss, Zane, and his partner
"This is… insane" Chazz said in awe as he watched the complicated dance
"Yeah… more power to them… won't catch me doing that shit" Kat giggled
"No kidding" Bastion and Chazz both said at the same time
The music finally ended and the salsa duo went to the drink bar, looking completely exhausted
"Alright… let's go fuck with them" Kat laughed as Chazz and Bastion nodded their heads in agreement
"That was… interesting" Kat said as they approached Jaden and Alexis
"Indeed" Bastion smiled
"We've been practicing all week for that" Jaden grinned as Alexis finished her drink
"No… we practiced for a simple salsa. Not… that" Alexis grinned
Jaden whispered with Alexis quietly enough that no one else could hear them
"It was fun" Alexis finally said within earshot
"Looked like more than fun from where I was sitting" Kat snickered
"Lexi!" Triss hugged Alexis and quickly pulled her away
"So…" Chazz said
"So…" Bastion smirked
"So?" Jaden asked, each 'So' getting higher pitched
"So, what the fuck was that?" Kat asked, almost making Jaden spit his drink out
"That wasn't planned… just an in the moment thing… for her, at least" Jaden grinned
"Dude, everyone is talking about you guys now," Chazz said as he poured himself a drink
"Really? Seems like most are dancing currently" Jaden said, pointing to the dance floor with many people on it
"You know what I mean" Chazz sighed
"Why didn't you kiss her? The way I saw it… could easily have been done" Bastion asked, making himself a drink as well
"Can Y'all leave me alone?" Jaden groaned
"No… we're going to tease you forever about this" Chazz grinned evilly
"Yes… forever and ever" Kat laughed
"Come on, Jay. My feet are killing me" Alexis said as she came walking past them, dragging Jaden with her
"Guess we know who wears the pants," Bastion said, making them all laugh
"Yeah… I could've told you that from the get-go" Triss giggled
"Come on, smarty. Let's go dance!" Kat said, dragging Bastion to the dance floor
"Not if you're going to grind on me again!" Bastion said nervously
"You like it…" Kat grinned evilly
Bastion turned red and said nothing as he reluctantly walked to the dance floor with Kat
"Guess that leaves… just you and me… alone… together" Triss giggled, leading Chazz to the table to sit down again
"Nice moves," Chazz said, brushing off her statement
"Thanks! I didn't really know what I was doing but… it was fun, nonetheless" Triss said, plopping down in her seat and enjoying her drink
"Yeah… you and Marik seem to really have a good time" Chazz said as he stared off towards the dance floor
There was a short pause as Triss stared at Chazz and Chazz was oblivious
"Chazz Princeton!... are you jealous?" Triss smirked
"Jealous? Of what!?" Chazz exclaimed
"Me spending time with Marik… and other boys" Triss grinned
"Pfft… no. Why should I care what you do with him? He's old and creepy" Chazz said defensively
"Oh, so it's cool if I hang with the old and creepy guys?" Triss tilted her head to the side
"That… isn't what I meant" Chazz chuckled, realizing what he had said
"Jealous! Jealous! You're jealous!" Triss teased
"I literally couldn't care less," Chazz said irritably
"Don't get an attitude with me, mister!" Triss poked Chazz's ribs hard
"Ouch! I don't have an attitude, and I'm not jealous!" Chazz snapped
Triss glared at Chazz for a moment
"I was playing… no need to get snappy" Triss said seriously
"Right… sorry… maybe I'm a bit jealous" Chazz huffed
"It's ok… it's kinda cute… the jealousy, not the snappy bit" Triss giggled
"What's your thing with Marik, anyway?" Chazz asked seriously
"He's a friend… he saved me from some very unfortunate circumstances at the abandoned dorm" Triss said thoughtfully
"Yeah… alright… guess he's not that bad, then?" Chazz said, still irritated over Marik
'Guess I'm more jealous then I cared to admit' Chazz thought
"No, he's not that bad. He's creepy and annoying, I'll admit that. Very… creepy and annoying" Triss giggled
"But he's also very charming and fun to be around. I also know he has my back always" Triss smiled, thinking about her strong connection with Marik
Chazz said nothing as he processed how he felt about Marik
"Nothing to feel threatened by, Chazz. He's waaaay too old for me anyways… he just likes to flirt" Triss giggled
"Let's talk about something else" Chazz smiled as he put his arm around Triss
"Like?" Triss asked as she sipped her drink
"How about… you. What's your family like?" Chazz asked
"Oh. My mom's 38 and has red hair like me… my dad's 41 and has brown hair… I'm an only child" Triss stated
"That much is clear" Chazz laughed as Triss smirked and flicked him on the forehead
"What about you?" She asked
Chazz frowned as he thought about his family
"Oh… sour subject?" Triss asked, matching his frown
"Nah… it's ok. I have two brothers, Slade and Jagger" Chazz said
"They're both older than me… they're big on politics, fame, money… anything to get more power on the world stage. They want me to be like them, but in duel monsters" Chazz sighed
"Oh… ok? And?" Triss asked seriously
"And… I don't want too. But they're really pushy… they've issued ultimatums before… do something they want or get disowned" Chazz said sadly
"Disowned!? What the hell? Who would disown someone like that?" Triss gasped
"My brothers, apparently" Chazz shrugged
"I'll never treat you like that" Triss said as she hugged Chazz as tightly as she could
"No one deserves that…" Triss mumbled
"Triss… you're crushing me" Chazz said in a strained voice
"Oh! Sorry!" Triss giggled as she quickly let go of him
"It's fine… I liked it" Chazz chuckled
"I mean it… I'll never treat you like that… fuck those guys" Triss said angrily as she snuggled into Chazz again
"Don't let them get you all worked up… they're not worth it" Chazz said as he brushed her cheek with his fingers, which seemed to calm her
A minute went by of Chazz silently stroking her cheek until she giggled
"What?" Chazz chuckled
"It feels nice..." Triss said, getting up off his chest and making eye contact
"I love your… green eyes" Chazz gulped during his pause
Triss leaned in slowly, touching the tip of her nose to his
"Thanks…" Triss whispered as her breathing increased quickly

Her lips were hot as fire to him. They were smooth and moist from her red lipstick and felt so soft and puffy… so desirable. Chazz's brain turned off completely as she put her hands on each side of his head, pulling him into her. Everyone else ceased to exist in that moment. The music fell away, the people turned to dust, and the floor gave in. All that existed were their lips
They finally parted after an unknown amount of time. It could have been 10 seconds, or 30 seconds, or a minute, or an hour. They had no idea
"So… how was that?" Triss giggled
"That… was amazing" Chazz giggled back
"We never had that kiss on our date… some asshole interrupted us" Triss said, making them both bust out into laughter
"That damn monkey… bane of my existence" Chazz chuckled
"You've never kissed anyone before, Chazzy?" Triss tilted her head to the side
"Uh… no… I haven't" Chazz felt embarrassed by his lack of experience
"Well… I'd say you're off to a good start, then" Triss laughed as she snuggled into him for the umpteenth time that night
They sat at the table for what seemed like hours, talking about anything and everything as Chazz played with Triss' hair and held her tightly
The pop song currently playing came to an abrupt end and the DJ got on the mic again
"Everyone enjoying the dance?" He asked excitedly
The crowd cheered in response
"Cool, cool! Listen uh… I think it's time to slow this party down just a bit… and by slow, I mean a slow dance!" The DJ grinned as he put the mic back and walked to his computer
Many of the couples in the room quickly walked to the dance floor while many others, mostly boys who didn't have the courage to slow dance, took a seat
"Dance with me?" Chazz asked as he got up and held out his hand to Triss
"Gladly!" Triss beamed as she took his hand and followed him to the dance floor
They danced the way they had practiced ever since Jaden gave them lessons for the next three songs: "Amazed" by Lonestar, "Hallelujah" by Rufus Wainwright, and finally "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt came over the speakers

Triss started laughing, which made Chazz laugh in return, and it was an infectious back and forth between the two, causing them to be unable to stop laughing for a long while

Chazz barely managed to twirl Triss as their sides started hurting from laughing
"Why… am I… still laughing!?" Triss asked in a weak voice in between fits of laughter

They finally managed to get their infectious giggles under control and continue their dance in a more serious and romantic matter

Chazz sucked in air as he leaned in for his second kiss of the night with the girl of his dreams. Her lips were so hot he was sure that she would breath dragon fire down his throat if given the chance. Triss moaned into his mouth as he nibbled her bottom lip with his teeth before parting the kiss
"Where are you going?" Triss purred as she pulled Chazz back down to her lips for another, briefer kiss. She bit his lip as she let go of him
Chazz made a slight groaning noise as he put his thumb to his lip to see if she drew blood or not as he raised an eyebrow at her
"Problem?" She giggled
"No… no problem at all… just… sexy" Chazz chuckled as he put his hands on her waist and pulled her into him
"Oh… hold that thought, Chazz" Triss said sadly
"What's wrong?" Chazz asked, worried
"Look at Jay…" Triss whispered as she pointed to Jaden
Jaden was sitting alone at a table with his head in one of his hands and his other hand swishing his drink around endlessly as he seemed to be deep in thought
"Where's Alexis?" Chazz whispered
"Don't know… best go ask" Triss said, worried
As Triss and Chazz walked over to Jaden, they realized that Kat and Bastion had the same idea at the same time. They all exchanged nods, acknowledging each other
"Hey Jay… where's Lexi?" Triss asked as she sat down next to Chazz along with Kat and Bastion
"She's gone for the night… where's Syrus?" Jaden said mindlessly
"I saw him slip out with Vanessa, probably to escort her to her room… I think he's head over heels with her" Chazz chuckled, getting agreeing nods from his friends
"She seems to be interested in him… the reason why escapes me but… good on him" Bastion smiled
An awkward silence fell over the table as Jaden kept watching his drink swish around and everyone tried to decide who would say something first
Finally Chazz spoke up
"So… why's Alexis gone for the night?... you fuck something up?" Chazz smirked as Triss smacked his arm
"Behave!" she warned
"I don't know… don't think so" Jaden said as he gulped his drink
Another silence fell over the table, this time Kat being the one to break it
"What happened!? Spill!" Kat demanded as she punched Jaden in the ribs
"Fine!" Jaden said after almost choking
Everyone waited in anticipation for what he had to say
"I… kissed her at the end of one of the slow dance songs… happy?" Jaden said irritably
Triss and Kat gasped and giggled as Chazz winked at Jaden and Bastion smirked
"Lexi's first kiss!... So romantic!" Triss had hearts in her eyes for her friend
Triss quickly got up and moved her chair so she could sit almost on top of Jaden, Kat doing the same from the other side
"Tell us everything! I want every little detail!" Kat demanded excitedly
"Why should I do that?" Jaden grinned
"Bastion… think its time for me and you to go" Chazz chuckled as Bastion nodded in agreement and laughed as they both got up and went to grab some food
"Because Lexi wont tell me, even though I'm her best friend! So be a good friend and tell me what happened!" Triss demanded cutely
"Tell us… or else" Kat warned with an evil grin
"Don't gotta threaten me… I'll spill" Jaden chuckled

Jaden recounted every detail, starting with the planning of his night starting two weeks ago and all the practice lessons they had in that time. Every little detail he noticed about her in that time, and all the things he did tonight. The story took him almost an hour to tell in its entirety. The girls made "awh!" sounds a lot and giggled a lot as he spilled
"So romantic" Kat purred
'Wish Chazz was more like this… I really like him but… Jaden's on a whole other level with romance' Triss thought
"Maybe you could teach Chazz some things… give him some ideas?" Triss suggested, making Jaden grin and Kat bust out laughing
"Chazz not good with romance?" Jaden asked curiously as he took another gulp of his drink
"I didn't say that… he just lacks confidence and… ideas, I think. He also doesn't have a great way of saying things…" Triss giggled
"Like?" Jaden asked as Kat leaned in with a smirk
"Like… he called me 'hot' earlier tonight" Triss blushed with embarrassment
"Oh geez… romantic as can be" Kat rolled her eyes and laughed
"Yeah… I'll work with him" Jaden giggled
"I'm not complaining… I really like him… he's super sweet… he just has no idea what girls like or want" Triss said thoughtfully
"Like I said, I'll work with him… give him some quick tips" Jaden grinned
"Though… now that I think about it… it seems I'm not exactly the master at this stuff either" Jaden said sadly as the smile on his face left
"Jaden… ever since I've known Lexi, she's been… tough… in the emotional department. She bottles everything up… and if she's willing to spill them, it's a lot to handle at once… she's pretty high maintenance" Triss said, getting a big laugh from Jaden
"Yeah… I see that… but I love it… wouldn't have it any other way" Jaden said with a twinkle in his eye

And that… was Triss and Chazz's PoV! I wasn't entirely sure how I was going to write this and make them feel… special, and different, to Jaden and Alexis. Obviously, I wrote Chapter 13 first, and I thought I had exhausted a lot of my ideas on that… but I just started writing this one and it seemed to flow nicely
This couple is a lot less heavy then Jaden/Alexis are and can also move a lot faster if I want them to… not sure how fast I want these two to go. Kinda feeling the whole "redheads = sexy trouble" thing with Triss right now… we'll see how I feel later :D
Also, Light and Darkness Dragon! I thought it would be cool to include him as Chazz's main duel spirit and as a card in general. He will still get the Ojama's and I will have separate plans for his brothers. Also, Light and Darkness Dragon does tie into Reggie and David… are those characters that you guys would like to see? Let me know!
