A/N: So, I'm back! So sorry for the very very long delay, but I feel that I am ready sit down with this story again.
Disclaimer: I own only the main character and her plot line. The rest belong to the creators of the Once Upon A Time.
"You did what?" I stare at Peter, trying to process that this man, the supposed love my life, traded his son for something as trivial as eternal youth. "You ruined our son's life." Peter, or shall I say, Malcom tries to interrupt me, and in response, I stop him by raising my hand. "Stop. I've heard enough from you. Our son is now the most evil being in the Enchanted Forest because you ruined his life. And now, you want me to kill him for revenge. He did not kill me, but seeing you as you are right now... you're killing me, Malcolm."
Tears are cascading down his face. Him being capable of an emotion such as sadness is honestly, now a shock to me. "Please, Violet. You must understand... I was nothing with you. A mere shell of a man. The only thing that made me as happy as you did was my childhood. Not the events, but my time on this island through my dreams." I can tell that he's trying very desperately for me to see his reasoning as just, but the fact that he did not see our son as a source of happiness is... revolting.
"I want off this island... immediately. I don't know what I ever saw in you. You're a monster, and you deserve to be stuck on this island with your terror gang until you wither away and die," I spit out, pointing at the hourglass. "You know I'm intelligent, Malcolm. There's no point in denying that your magic is fading. Soon enough, you'll be that vile, old man you so vehemently tried to erase." Peter clenches his fists in anger. "Why do you want me to become the Dark One? So, that you can have me as your immortal wife? No, Malcolm. I'm done trying to escape my future. If I am to die, so I shall."
Peter looks at the ground, trying to collect his thoughts. "I will let you off this island, but you cannot disrupt my plans for the Dark One." I look at him with narrowed eyes.
"You're trying to get revenge for me, even though I've backed out of your plans... Why? You have no use for him..." I scan his face for any emotive betrayal, but he stays neutral. "Unless, you," I chuckle, "want to become the dark one. Of course! Your immortality is draining, but the Dark One's never does. If you think, even after he's become, that I'll let you kill my son, you're sadly mistaken."
"Then, I have no choice but to kill you." All that indirect love these past months was all a ruse. If he truly cared about me, he would not threaten to kill me today.
"So, this is what you've become. The flirting, holding me through panic attacks, keeping warm... they were all an act?" Against my own thoughts, I become teary-eyed. Before Pan can respond, we hear a distant call for me. "Killian," I whisper, running away from Pan and towards the pirate's voice. "Killian!" I scream, approaching the entrance of the cave. I see him just outside and run towards him. He's battered and bruised almost to the brink of death. "Dear gods, what has happened to you?" I kneel down next to him, caressing his cheek. Next to him stands a woman with blonde hair tied up in a top knot. "Have you brought him here?"
"Yes," the woman responds, "My name's Tinkerbell, and we do not have time for introductions. I can sense the surroundings of this island as well as Pan does, and someone has arrived."
"It's the Dark One," I say immediately. "It has to be. He may be evil, but not completely without a heart for his son... which is exactly what Pan was counting on. We need to prevent Pan from meeting up with Rumplestiltskin." I hook Killian's left arm right arm around my neck and drag him towards the rowboat he and the fairy took to arrive at the cave. Tinkerbell starts rowing immediately as we sit down. Looking back, I see the skull shaped island and Pan standing at the shore.
"Love," Killian whispers. I stare to look at his bloody face. "Not my best look, I admit," he says with a chuckle. But, his face then becomes serious. "If the Dark One is here, I must kill him. He stole my love-"
"No, Killian," I command. "If you kill him, you'll become the Dark One. That is not a future you want. What we need to do is return Baelfire to him and prevent Pan from achieving ultimate immortality. He plans to kill his son for something as trivial as..." I choke back a sob.
Killian looks at me, concern etched on his face. "What is it, love?"
"Killian, what I'm about to tell you might shock you, but-"
"You're the resurrected wife of Peter Pan." I gape at him. "Yes, I know. One of his lackeys told me."
I look down at my hands. "I'm sorry."
"Whatever for?"
"That I was once married to that vile man, and I didn't even remember. If I did, I would not have involved you in this mess." I shake my head in disgust at myself.
"Love, I was already involved. Your past life has absolutely nothing to do with what you are today. You are a brilliant woman who has managed to survive despite all odds against you. A woman is meant to be bad luck on a pirate's ship, but you have only brought me happiness. I do not see you as Minah, a person who I fiercely love even to this day. I see you as Violet, my closest friend." He touches his forehead against mine and sighs.
"Land ho," Tinkerbell says dejectedly. "So, what's our plan?" she asks after we dock. She and Killian look at me expectedly.
"A rather loose form, but deliver Baelfire to my son and avoid Pan and his crew at all costs. This plan may not even work, considering that none of us wield any magic, at least, on this island. And, the fact that I haven't see Baelfire at all in the camps is a bit concerning. But, we can do this, team."
"Nice pep talk. Let's keep moving then," Tinkerbell says as she stomps off into the jungle. Killian and I closely follow, but I cannot help but wonder if our 'plan' has already reached the ears of Peter Pan.
