A/N: Woot woot I managed to finish this chapter today. HURRAH! So I decided on trying something different and instead of doing it 1st person I just wrote it in 3rd person.

Chapter 14
Roxas P.O.V.
'I can't believe Axel is such a great cook. he can plausibly be better than our mom. I would never in a million years thought knew how to cook. That boy really does spark my curiosity, he's quite, ummm what the right word, bold you can say. He's pretty much straight forward and doesn't like beating around the bush. The quite opposite from me. I tend to keep to myself and beat around the bush; yet when I'm with him, he take me out from my comfort shell regardless what I think. But at the end, I end up enjoying myself.'
"Sooo...ummm did you think you can help me after school? I've been having trouble understanding the math concept we learned today. It would really mean alot if you can help a moron like me, hehehe" Truth me told, Axel was never too good with school. It took him a long time to understand a concept, it wasn't his fault. He's just had horribles teachers who didn't know how to teach, they've told Axel he was a lost cause which he ended up believing.
You can say Axel would fit it with the jocks with him being in the football team and wrestling team. He greatly enjoyed being active and it showed. Even Though he's just a freshman, he's had a huge growth spurt over the summer. He stand at 6'0 with a body sculpted by an angel. All of the girls would throw themselves at him even some guys too.
"I'll be more than happy to help you. I don't have much to do anyways. Oh and Axel don't call yourself a moron." Roxas was upset how Axel was belittling himself.
"That's not what I've been told. They've told me I'm a lost clause and I gotta agree them them. I can't even understand the simplest equation. I'm just a stupid jock." Axel sighed in defeat, avoiding eye contact with Roxas so he wouldn't he the look of shame he had.
"Well, we'll see about that. We might have to prove them wrong... Plus, you're my stupid jock... not that I'm calling you stupid or anything...just that ummm..." A rose pink blush appeared on Roxas cheek not knowing what to say to Axel. He then noticed a hand on his shoulder reassuring him Axel knew what he meant. "Don't worry I understood, now come, we have biology next." Axel grabbed Roxas hand as they made their way to their class.
"Okay class settle down. I'm going to assign this year's lab partners and before you all make an uproar there will be no changing partners. What I say is final, got it." The class groaned upon hearing the news. They all wanted to be paired up with their friends, which obviously wasn't going to happen. Roxas didn't care much whose he's going to partner up, he pretty much will end up doing all of the work anyways which he didn't mind. Roxas was the solitary type, he kept to himself and drowned himself with school. You can classify him as a "nerd' or "geek." He would much rather learn about the mechanic of astrophysics than go out with friends.
Roxas stood at 5'11, he was pretty slim and slightly toned from all of the swimming he did. Not many people know this but he's an pianist, a great one. It's one of his hidden talents he had. We spend countless hours practicing at home with Sora, Sora being the classical vocalist who Roxas would accompany when needed.
Roxas was deep in thought reminiscing about the past that he failed to notice the teacher was call him. "Ohh... Sorry Ms. Aerith." the young woman laugh and told him not to worry. Roxas grab the roll call sheet and started announcing the partners. He was going down the list until the last pair was called, he saw his name next to Axel. 'Ohh boy this is going to be interesting.' He smiled at the red head and took his seat next to him. What were the odds I would be partnered up with him.
"Hey, I guess we're meant to be." Axel's careless grin made Roxas blush lightly. Roxas quickly looked away and was looking for something trying to hide the fact he was blushing.
Hours passed and the bell rung. School was officially over. Roxas remembered that he agreed on tutoring Axel. "So Axel, do you want to come to my house or should we go to yours?" Axel thought about it and agreed on studying at Roxas house rather than his. "If it possible, can we do it at your house?" Roxas nodded knowing his mother wouldn't mind but he should let her know to avoid any complications. "Alright, I have to go to the orientation for the football team. i should be done in an hour. Instead of waiting for me all bored you should head home and 'll drop by as soon as I can." That would give Roxas some time to practice the piece he was learning. "Alright sounds good. You know where I live so just text me when you're close." Axel agreed and ran to his football practice.
Roxas arrived home being greeted by his mom. "Hello sweetie, how was your day?" Roxas set his stuff in his room and sat down in the kitchen. "It was great. Ohh I forgot to tell you that I friend is coming over, I hope it isn't much trouble." His mom turned around from the stove holding a spoon waiting for Roxas to try it. "Of course it isn't a problem Roxas, but I wished you would've told me soon. So how is it" Roxas gave a sheepish grin knowing he should've told her sooner but it was unexpected. "I'm try to give you a heads up next time. I think is needs some more salt, just a pinch or so. I'll be practicing in the living room if you need me." Roxas grab a water bottle from the fridge and headed to the grand piano in the living room.
He wondered why she was cooking so much food and he got the piece he was going to work on, but first he started his warm up session. Once he was satisfied with the warm up he took out the piece he was going to work on, Waltz No. 1 in E-flat, Op. 18 Grande Valse Brillante by Chopin. He was preparing from some piano competition in the fall. Roxas is quite remarkable pianist, he's playing has been called 'brilliant' and 'spectacular' by people. Whenever Roxas would play he seemed like another person. As soon as he closed his eye he let his finger dance across the piano quite eloquently.
The house was filled with music and aroma of food, he failed to notice the text from Axel. Minutes later, Axel made his way to Roxas house and decided to knock, to his surprise the door was open so we walked in hoping he wasn't intruding. He saw Roxas playing and stood by the doorway stunned. He saw the amount of concentration the boy had and didn't want to interrupt the beautiful music echoing through the house. Roxas mom notice the buy and suspected it was Roxas friend, she came to him and stood next to him. "He's quite remarkable right," she whispered to the boy. He nodded and they continued listening to Roxas until he was approaching the end of the piece.
As the last chord was ringing he notice two people clapping, one being his mom and the other being Axel. Roxas bowed and covered up the piano. "Sorry, hehehe. I just got sucked into the piece." Roxas apologized scratching the back of his head. "Wow, Roxas. I never knew you played piano. You're amazing." Axel was astounded by the smaller male. Roxas thanked him for the compliment and explain that not many people knew he was a pianist. "Ohhh, I see you met my mom already."
"Actually not really. I'm sorry for intriguing without knocking or ringing the doorbell, I thought it was okay if I came in. I apologize for bursting in." Axel seemed a little ashamed. 'There goes my chances on making a good impression.' Axel thought to himself. "Ohh don't worry dear, Roxas told me you were coming. Plus, I doubt we could've hear the doorbell. I'm Delilah, Roxas and Sora's mom. It's a pleasure to finally meet you. Roxas being talking about you." She couldn't pass up an opportunity to embarrass Roxas. "MOM!" Roxas was now curling into a ball, dying from embarrassment. "Oh, you've been talking me, huh. I hope it's good stuff. The pleasure is all mine Mrs. Morimoto. I'm Nakamura Axel, please call me Axel." Axel bowed upon finishing. "Please call me Delilah, Axel." Axel nodded.
"Okay, mom we're going to be in the living room studying." Roxas escorted Axel to the couch. "Okay, honey, if you guys need anything just holler at me. I'll be in the kitchen." Roxas turned to Axel asking if he need anything, he asked if he could get something to drink. Moments later Roxas came back offering a glass of water, a soft drink, and tea; he should've asked him what he wanted, but oh well. Axel took the water as Roxas took the green tea. They continued to study until Axel was getting annoying that he couldn't understand. "Ugh, see I told you it's useless. I'm useless." Roxas couldn't stand watching Axel putting himself down and decide to try another approach. "I told you not to say that. You're aren't useless, you just need to find a way you'll understand it. Not everything works for everyone. Hmmm, okay I think I got it." Roxas pulled out a bag of gummy bear he had. " Okay, let's say you're given 10 red gummy bear and the total points you'll need are 150. You can also only use 15 gummy bears in total. You'll need to use both red and yellow gummy bears to achieve 150." He sort through the gummy bear and got the ones he need. "Ummm can it be 10 green gummy bears. I don't like red gummy bears." Roxas chuckled at Axel's childish remark and got the 10 green gummy bears as Axel wanted. " Okay, so let's say that the green gummy bears are worth 5 points and the yellow gummy bears are worth 20 points. You'll need to figure out how many yellow gummy bears you'll need to have exactly 150 points."
The gears in Axel head started to turn as he did the math. "Ummm you need exactly 5 yellow gummy bears because if each yellow gummy bear is worth 20 point then 5 * 20 =100 points. Plus, you have 10 green gummy bears that are worth 5 points each the it's 10 * 5 = 50 points. Adding 100 points + 50 points = 150 points." Axel was beyond ecstatic, he couldn't believe he actually solved the problem by himself. After a couple of problems later he has mastered the concept and and to thank Roxas for helping. "I can't believe did all that by myself. You're such a great teacher Roxas, Thank you sooo much. You have no idea how much this means to me. I guess I'm not a lost cause afterall.: Axel got up to embrace Roxas. "Axel not so tight, I can't breath." Axel slightly released Roxas from his embrace thank him once again.
"Mom, I'm home." Sora called as he came through the door catching Axel and Roxas mid though their embrace. "Hey Axel, Riku was looking for you." Axel completely forgot to tell his brother he was coming over to Roxas house for a study session. "Axel dear, do you want to stay for dinner?" Delilah called from the kitchen. Axel didn't know whether to accept or decline he didn't want to be rude so he accepted, he hope Riku was going to be too angry at him. "If it wouldn't be too much trouble." He replied. "Don't be silly I'll be honored to have you after all that hard study session. I'm sorry if Roxas was too hard on you, he's kinda strict when it come to teaching. Now go on and wash up. Dinner will be ready in 5 minutes."
They boys came down to the dinner table and sat down. "Here Delilah, please let me help you set up the table. Thank you Axel, it;s nice having a gentleman around for a change." Sora and Roxas both looked guilty as she laughed. "Ohh Axel can you put an extra plate, we're having another guest joining us today." Axel did as he was told. Roxas and Sora were both wondering who was coming over. 'You don't suppose Mom has found a boyfriend do you.' Both Roxas and Sora glance at each thinking the same thought. It was then that the doorbell rang. "Ohh I guess he's already here. Perfect just in time." She walked to the door and greet the man. "I'm glad you made it, come on in." She showed him the way in. "Thank you for inviting me." A familiar voice echoed through the house.
