I am so so so so sorry that I haven't updated this fanfiction in the longest time! I have been busy with work, and to top it all off my laptop decided to commit suicide for a while. I have since had it fixed, and will continue to try and update! Thanks for your patience.
As the Power Rangers heard what Dulcea had said about the clearly powerful item, and it left it with an awkward silence. Could they really do that to Tommy? They had only been friends and teammates for a short time, but from how ominous the warning was it sounded like it could do more than just take his powers away. "Is…is this something we can actually do?" Billy questioned. "With all of this technology at our disposal and magic...there should be something that we can do to make Tommy reject Rita's magic?" the blue ranger's question was a good one.
Zordon looked down at his set of Rangers; the original rangers had more time to learn to fight, and they knew of the full dangers of Rita and her minions. The only other thing he could think of was if they had managed to contain Tommy and take away his power coin then they had a chance to reverse what the evil sorceress did. "If you are able to subdue him, then we can fight what Rita did to him and the Dragonzord power coin,"
Jason looked at his team; he knew that they could do this. "I think it's worth a shot guys,"
"What about Kat? She has been under Rita's spell longer than him," Trini asked, "Even if we get Tommy back; he is going to be upset that she's under Rita's spell still," Once again the team was silent at that note; in the past Tommy had gone off on his own to try and find Kat and that was the reason that he was captured in the first place.
"Well none of this matters right now," Billy voiced, and that snapped all of them out of their silence. Tommy and Katherine were causing destruction in the Juice Bar. "We have to do something about them and soon because they look like they are going to start hurting innocent people.
Zordon and Dulcea exchanged worried looks; Tommy was powerful enough without being juiced up on Rita's evil magics. Jason glanced at the viewing globe, and a putty patrol appeared in their as well. "We can't let them keep doing this," Jason said to the team, "we gotta go down there before things get worse," He knew that team was still shaken up, but they needed to step in and stop them now. They had been training to fight back against Tommy again; especially if he started waving around the handgun again.
"Do we bring the mirror?" Trini questioned, as she started to palm for her morpher. Jason was about to agree to bring it, but something inside was still holding him back. If there was a chance to get Tommy back to fighting for the good; there had to be a less extreme route than just stripping him of his powers, and potentially permanently hurting him. There had to be something more; for now they had to just get the duo out of the area of harm of innocents.
"No," Jason decided, surprising the team. Considering he was hurt the worst by them; he was still for saving their friend. "We have to find another way to save him; a way we all can save him," The team silently agreed. "Let's go," Jason thought that they could just get things done without them morphing, but saw that they had take people, and the Bar stopped shaking. "Where'd they go?" he questioned, and saw Alpha typing things on the computer.
"Found them," he said.
"This might be a trap," Dulcea warned.
"Doesn't matter," Zack responded, "this is something that we may not have signed up for originally but we can't ignore it,"
"Gotta get those people out," Kim said, glancing at her boyfriend.
Jason nodded his head, and then grabbed his morpher. "It's Morphin Time!" he called out with his friends' voices mingling with his own. They were each embraced by their respective colors, and Alpha hit a couple buttons and transported them to where Tommy and Kat had taken their captives. They made sure that they were quiet as they traversed through the unfamiliar cave like area they had been transported to.
"This is looking oddly familiar," Trini voiced, thinking about the first time that they had become Rangers.
"What do you mean?" Zack questioned, hand falling down to his blade blaster.
Meanwhile Rita was pacing up in her throne room; clearly having her own evil ranger with a majority of free will wasn't working as well. To top it all off, the monsters that she created were bested by those pesky teenagers gifted with powers. She rolled her eyes, and wondered what was taking Finster so long. She had remembered when his monsters had some grit to them; when they actually were a threat to all of the rangers; in fact her monsters had taken out the previous incarnation of Rangers down to the last one before Zordon had managed to trap her and the rest of the minions in a garbage dumpster. The thought alone made her blood boil.
She thought that being trapped inside that horrendous thing would have made the creativity flow for making monsters, but there wasn't anything that stood out. Her mind drifted off towards when she had a fling with Lord Zedd; there was no way she was going back to him. She had no idea if he was even alive; and if he was it wasn't like there wasn't bad blood between the two of them. She had pretty much used him to get more power from him; in fact it was the reason that she was able to destroy the lives of the Rangers before destroying them. Before she could reach Finster, she felt something in her mind. The magic she had woven to make Tommy more evil. It looked like her Ranger was finally doing something to antagonize the Rangers. Before she could view what he was doing, Finster interrupted her. "Finster," she growled darkly, her eyes glowing bright with power. "You better have something-,"
"My Queen," the creature stammered; his voice unsure if he should tell her what he had found instead of focusing on the monster that she had wanted him to make; especially if what he found was a fluke effort. Granted before being cast away by Zordon it was something she had commanded him to do years ago; she had caused so much destruction with someone she had grown up with. Finster believed he had found the deadly hybrid creation of scorpion and mortal; Scorpina. "I believe I found her,"
The thought of her old friend hadn't been with her for a while; she had been focused on taking down the rangers of this time. "Where is she?" she growled.
"She is still in stasis," Finster stammered. After a devastating blow from one of the Rangers, Rita had managed to save her before being locked away. A part of her knew that she should be focusing on her evil Ranger and her Kat, but this opportunity was too good to pass up on.
"Bring her here," she demanded darkly. "And in time we will bring her back into the fold and she can help us bring the rangers down for good,"
I know this is a small chapter, and I'm not sure who is still reading this….but it made me happy to try my hand at writing again!
