It has been a week since Malli and Daichi broke up and Malli has never been so depressed since her parents died. She never spoke, not with her voice, not on paper, not with body language. She appeared to be emotionless to everyone who gave her a glance. Now, Malli was no ameture when it came to hiding emotions, even L couldn't tell what she was thinking. Her eyes, were dull, not a hint of emotion filled them. She didn't smile. She looked as if she was a robot, as child might call her, a cyborg. But those who knew her past, or understood her, they would know she is under severe depression, hiding it quite well, so well, not a single being would be able to tell what she was feeling or thinking.

Malli was sitting, Matsuda sat beside her handing her a cup of hot cocoa. At times, he would offer her coffee, but Malli would refuse, looking away. But, Matsuda soon learned that she loved hot coco and lemonade. Malli had loved the two drinks since she was a little girl, no matter if who she hated liked the drinks, she would still love it. Malli took a sip of the hot cocoa that Matsuda had given her, allowing the warm liquid sooth her throat and warm her all up. Matsuda smiled, happy that she took the drink.

L had looked away at the two, looking at the two. To him, Matsuda looked as if he likes Malli. No, not at a friend, but a small crush. In L's eyes, Malli's quite a girl. She had long strawberry-blonde hair and looked a lot like her mother. L had seen photo's of her mother and father, but never really took interest into them, being as Malli's the suspect in the case.

L wondered why her father appeared to be of Japanese origin, but Malli had looked nothing of her father. L wasn't too concerned by it, knowing that he didn't have to look into it, not that he cared too much anyway, but it was still an interesting topic. L was confused as to why that is, but he pushed the thought aside, getting back onto the Kira case, which he was working on mainly, but at the moment he was just working on this particular case while waiting for the results to come back.

A hair sample has been found at the last two crime scenes of victims of the world famous serial killer, Dead Flower. These hair samples are the same colour as Malli's hair, and being that killings have been so close to Lindzie's death and the fact that they have started soon after Malli's parents death, L has suspected Malli as the criminal.

"Matsuda, I wouldn't be crushing on an under aged girl if I were you. Even though she will being turning eighteen in a month, you would be still be a pedofile, being that she is still under age." L stated, no emotion in his voice.

Matsuda stood up, setting his cup of coffee that he had poured after Malli had taken the hot cocoa. "L! It wasn't like that! She's been through a lot in her life and I'm just trying to cheer her up!" he urged, blushing at what L said. Malli was beautiful and all, but all Matsuda sees her as is a younger sister he has to look after.

Everyone except L and Matsuda chuckled. Malli had giggled a small smile on her face. She couldn't resist the urge to laugh a bit at it. It warmed her heart when she heard Matsuda's words. He seemed like he was the only one who cared.

Everyone looked at Malli in shock, except for L, who had looked as emotionless as ever.

Malli got up and hugged Matsuda, who hugged back. It felt nice to know someone cared. "Thank you, Matsuda." She mumbled, smiling.

"No problem!" Matsuda chirped, patting her back before they let go. The two sat on a couch, forgetting their drinks, and started to talk and get to know each other. They laughed and giggled, making jokes to each other, becoming friends quickly.

I hope Matsuda and I can be friends for a long time! Malli thought. Then I won't be alone anymore!
