Chapter 13: Miracle of life
Bastet opens her eyes when the sun rises in the sky of the desert. Bastet feels something on her tail and she turns around. She sees one thing she didn't expect. She is in the same bed as Theb-Saar who is sleeping at the other side. His tail is on her tail. She looks at the crown prince who wakes up and he looks at her. He sees that she is nervous.
"...Sorry...I think I've scare you." Says Theb-Saar. "Listen...If you are wondering why you are here...You fall asleep on me and I didn't know where you are living for now. So...I brought you here so you can rest."
"Why didn't you put me into a guest room?" Asks Bastet.
"Well...Euh..." Theb-Saar looks elsewhere. "I was sleepy so I didn't...Really think." He was clearly lying and Bastet knows it.
"...Really?" Asks Bastet.
"Yeah..." Says Theb-Saar.
Bastet sighs and let it go.
"Alright...I think I'll find myself something to eat." Says Bastet.
"Why don't you eat with me?" Asks Theb-Saar. "You are here after all."
"No thanks. I'll go to the bar." Declines Bastet.
"Alright...See you later." Says Theb-Saar.
"Bye." Says Bastet walking away.
Idiot! Idiot! And Idiot! Why did you refuse his proposal?! It was almost like a date! Bastet shouts to herself in her mind.
She walks outside and she sees Sekhmet running outside.
"Sekhmet! Wait up!" Shouts Bastet running after her.
"What is it?" Asks Sekhmet not slowing down and in a red robe.
"What is happening with you? Why are you such in a hurry?" Asks Bastet running by her side.
"I shouldn't say it but you are going to follow me even if I don't want too right?" Says Sekhmet.
"Of course. You need help." Says Bastet.
"Fine...Isa is going to deliver right now! She sends someone to warn me and I'm going to give her support." Says Sekhmet.
"Finally. I knew it but I didn't say anything." Says Bastet.
"You knew...Alright...Come with me!" Shouts Sekhmet.
Sekhmet runs a little slower because she is not use to wear robe. She is more comfortable with armor than noble clothes or even royal one.
They run to the healer house. Darini sees them running and he wonders what is going on.
"What is going on?" Asks Darini.
"What are you doing here?" Asks Sekhmet.
"You are running like crazy girls so I know something bad is happening." Says Darini.
"It's the opposite." Replies Bastet.
They reach the healer house and they hear a long shout of pain.
"It is already happening." Says Sekhmet.
"Let's go." Says Bastet.
"What is going there? Is there a monster or something like that?" Asks Darini when he enters and he sees Isa shouting in pain.
"A MONSTER! COME HERE SO I CAN GUT YOU OUT!" Isa screams.
Darini hides behind Sekhmet. She has heard him.
"SORRY!" Screams Darini with fear.
"Calm down Miss Isa." Says the mipedian healer. "Just breathe calmly and push when you feel it."
"CALMLY! HOW CAN I BE CALM WHEN I FEEL MY INSIDE CRUSHING ME?!" Screams Isa. "AAARRRGGGHHH!"
Mipedians appear outside and they wonder what is going on. They then see Isa delivering. She sees them.
"GO ELSEWHERE! THIS IS NOT A AAARRRGGGHHH SHOW!" Screams Isa in fury.
The mipedians disappear invisible and they hide where they can.
"Calm down Isa. You are not alone. I'm here for you." Says Sekhmet.
"ARGH! THANKS!" Screams Isa in pain.
She continues pushing and the screams attract the attention of Seth who enters in the healer house.
"Isa! Are you alright?" Asks Seth worried. He then sees Isa with her legs open and he knows what is going on. "I think I'm in the way." He adds nervously.
"YOU THINK!" Screams Isa.
"Why are you here?" Asks Bastet.
"I was worried for Isa. I thought she just hurt herself bad...Maybe I don't like her that much for hurting my friend Theb-Saar but I don't want anything wrong with her." Says Seth.
"Continue pushing Miss Isa." Says the healer. "I can see his head."
"Almost over Isa." Says Sekhmet.
"You can do it." Says Bastet.
"True...You almost finish." Says Darini.
"Ok...I think we'll get out." Says Seth grabbing the tail of Darini and pulling him out when he sees him looking at her with a little pervert way.
"You're ruining it!" Shouts Darini when he is drag outside.
"I'LL KILL THAT PERVERT!" Screams Isa. "WHO CAN HE! ARGH! WATCH ME THAT WAY NOW!"
Isa screams in pain again. After a while, she shouts in relief.
"It is over Miss Isa." Says the healer when he looks at the baby mipedian. "It's a boy."
The scales of the baby are orange. He is a very small Mipedian with short mahogany hair that seems like there's nothing on it. He has four-finger hands with short claws, and three toes on each foot. He has yellow eyes with black pupil full of life. He has already a long orange rail ending with a bigger part.
The healer makes him cry to see if he is alright and he slowly puts it in a tower where he takes out the liquid covering him. He looks everywhere around the baby.
"He is healthy." Says the healer.
"*Sigh* Thanks goodness." Says Isa. She looks at her stomach and it still big. "I must have gain- ARGH!" She screams when it pushes inside of her again.
"What?!" Shouts Bastet.
"Give me the baby and look out what happen to her." Says Sekhmet.
The healer puts the baby on her arms and he moves next to her.
"There's another one coming out!" Shouts the healer.
"Twin!" Shouts Isa surprise.
"That is what you will have." Says the healer.
"ARGH!" Isa shouts in pain again but it end up much quicker than before and the next one was already out.
The healer takes the baby and put it in a tower too after looking at the baby.
"It's a girl." Says the healer.
The baby female mipedian has silver scales covering her body from the bottom to the tail like her mother. She has an orange section at her underbelly and chest. She has blue pure eyes with a little hint of yellow. She is more build than her twin brother already and seems born to be strong.
The healer gives the girl to her arms and Sekhmet gives the other one. Isa has her 2 babies in her arms and she hugs them against her chest. The 2 babies put their head against her and she hears them snoring lightly.
"The boy looks so much like his father...I can only name him Ghatup." Says Isa with a smile. She looks at him sleeping. "And I think I'll call my daughter Nila."
"Nila! That's the name of the female I'm hitting for." Says Darini entering back.
"She'll be named Nila anyway." Says Isa.
"Just need not to make confusion." Says Darini.
Isa glares at him.
"It's alright." Says Bastet. "I'll take care of him."
Bastet walks outside and they can hear sound of a punch and a whines of pain. Seth enters and he looks at the mipedian baby of Isa.
"Hum...They are both beautiful." Comments Seth with a smile. "You've been double bless."
"Well...Can't really say that...I'm not sure I can offer them a proper place to live." Says Isa when she looks at her resting child.
"You know...I have found a solution for that." Says Sekhmet. "When you...Do the thing when we first meet...You show that you are a powerful warrior...Even most that our elite soldiers."
"What are you implying?" Asks Isa.
"I want to offer you to work with me in a special squadron we are preparing. It is about fighting those beasts around. It will be those around us who already fight them of course so you know everyone. You will become a soldier and you will be pay and live well for you and your children." Says Sekhmet. "I also know you are a nice person so I know I can trust you."
"Helping Theb-Saar fighting those...beasts?" Asks Isa.
"That is the plan." Says Sekhmet. "When there is no monster to chase...You will be here and rise your 2 children. You will not have to worry about them."
"With Theb-Saar...If it is to protect Perim...For my 2 children...I'll accept...I have to make sure they will have a nice future." Says Isa accepting the proposition. "I...About Theb-Saar...I also know...Never mind."
"I know what you are thinking...You have to tell him one day." Says Sekhmet.
"Yeah...But I'll do it too fast...But...In the end...What he has done isn't for making us suffer..." Says Isa closing her eyes. Exhaustion is awakening in her heart and her eyes are becoming heavier. "I think I'll sleep with them. Sekhmet...Thank you...For their sake."
"You are welcome my friend." Says Sekhmet.
Isa closes her eyes and she falls in a very deep sleep after such effort to deliver them.
Everyone leaves her alone with her 2 children sleeping together and already bonding. The only thing sad is that they will never see their father.
