Fifth Year: The Gryffindor Common Room.

Blaise got Draco another glass of water.

"Here Draco, keep drinking fluids… Or you could easily go to Madame Pomfrey." Blaise said, raising an eyebrow.

"I don' wanno." Draco said, sniffing.

"Fine. Be stubborn and wallow in your self-pity Draco, but please drink the goddamned potions I got for you."

"Fine." Blaise rolled his eyes and handed Draco the water.

"I weally 'pprecite it Blaise. Harry can't 'ford to miss more lessons." Draco said, sneezing.

"I know I know Draco." Blaise said, stroking Draco's head. "I should really get going, Potions starts soon and Snape isn't really forgiving." Blaise said standing up and stretching. "Harry should be here soon, I think he's decided he's so shit at potions he's just gonna drop it."

"Or Snape will kick 'im ou'." Draco murmured, falling asleep.

"See you later Draco." Blaise said softly, creeping out the room.

Draco awoke to Harry softly nibbling on his earlobe.

"'arry…" Draco moaned, his voice husky. He felt Harry shiver and pull away.

"You were asleep." Harry pouted.

"Sowee." Draco looked up at Harry with puppy dog eyes.

"S'okay." Harry said, rubbing his nose against Draco's. "You can go back to sleep you know." He said, softly getting off the bed.

"Thanks." Draco said, yawning. "Snape's gonna kill you."

"I know. Now sleep." Harry ordered. The blonde chuckled before falling into a light slumber.

Harry loved how his long his eyelashes were and how he would always complain if you pointed it out. And his bed hair and how cute it was. Scratch that, he loved everything about Draco. But he was worried. He was worried for Draco. About Valentine and the killer and his father and Voldemort and the war. But so was everyone else. Blaise had personally told him he was going to send Pansy to a safe house or different country when the war starts. Blaise was such a bubbly light person. He was that one friend everybody liked. Even Ron admitted he liked Blaise. He was just so charismatic and charming and bouncy and he cared for everyone but he was sneaky and brave and clever and Merlin the sorting hat must've had a hell of a time sorting him.

Blaise looked at Pansy for the fifth time that lesson and sighed. She looked like she was carrying the world on her shoulders. Of course, the looming war was taking its toll on all of them. He dreaded to think what it would be like when the war started. And they all knew that it would happen. It was inevitable. Like Sirius had said to Harry at the beginning of the year when the boy asked him if he thought there would be another war. Blaise remembered Harry telling him that Sirius said it feels like it did before. And Blaise was worried. They were struggling as it was. They weren't going to cope well in the war. Especially if Draco's killer still hadn't been found and Valentine was still taking advantage of him. At least he would be there to protect Pansy. Maybe he should send her away, to a foreign country or a safe house. Just in case.

"Blaise." Pansy said in a singsong voice, waving her hand in front of his face. "You've been out of it for ages." She stated.

"Sorry just thinking." He said, kissing her hand lightly.

"Anyway, Snape has told us to make some shitty potion." She said, getting up.

"Okay, you get the ingredients, I'll read what we have to do.

He watched her walk away, her jet black hair swaying just above her waist. He remembered her bright eyes, the way they would light up when they were talking about her favourite book or something similar, the way her eyes crinkled when she laughed, the fact that she was probably able to be a mother already, her soft pink lips and the way she would cutely pout. He loved her and he didn't think he could live without her.

"Whatcha thinking about babe?" Pansy said as she returned with the ingredients.

"Just how much I love you." He whispered. He couldn't help the smile that split his face as she kissed his cheek.

"I love you too." She whispered.

"I love you more."

"I love you all the way to the moon and back." She said, burrowing her head into the crook of his neck.

Draco was sat in the Slytherin common room. Blaise and Pansy were cuddled up on the sofa opposite, and Draco couldn't help but glance up at them a little enviously now and again. He sighed, continuing to flick through Blaise's new Chudley Cannons magazine he was pretending to read, he was so incredibly bored. Harry was doing his Occlumency lesson with Snape so he had no one to talk to. He, obviously, didn't dare try Pansy or Blaise. The two seemed to be in their own separate world. He sighed, he could do revision for his OWLs but that was all he had been doing lately. He just wanted to have fun somewhere with his friends, a party, pranking Peeves. He sighed again softly, wishing he wasn't doing shitty exams that were apparently important. He looked back down at the magazine. He'd read this before, he thought and threw it to the side. As he did so, someone walked into the common room. It was Theo, and that alone made him smile brightly, his mood lightening quickly. He watched as his close friend walked towards Draco and flopped down next to him.

"Hey Dray." He greeted, bringing his hand to his mouth to bite his nails, a habit he hadn't been able to knock since he and Draco were little kids

"Hi. I haven't talked to you in a while." Draco said turning towards his friend. Theo looked down and dropped his hand worriedly.

"Yeah I know. I'm sorry." He mumbled softly, a shadow of his normally bright character.

"Why? I know you've been busy Theo, it's fine. We've all been busy, it's not just your fault." He rubbed Theo's arm reassuringly with a smile.

"I know but I've not been as busy as I make out I am… I guess… I've just sort of been avoiding you…" He replied quietly.

Draco paused at those words, leaning forward a little. "Why?" He asked softly, moving even closer to his anxious friend.

"I'm dangerous, Draco. I don't want you to get hurt. My father wants you dead." His voice was thick with intangible emotion.

"Theo, I have someone trying to kill me. I wouldn't worry about it." Draco didn't miss the way Theo visibly shuddered.

"I know… I just… It's hard to be around Ha… Never mind." Theo sighed, standing up to walk away. Draco frowned, not wanting to lose his friend so soon after he saw him. He quickly wrapped his arms around Theo's neck before he could.

"It's okay, you don't have to explain." He whispered as Theo's arms encircled his waist gently. They stood like that for a few minutes, the position familiar to them. Just breathing each other in. Draco could feel Theo's muscles pressed against his body. When did he get so toned?

"I really miss you Dray." Theo's voice cracked with emotion at the end.

"I miss you too."

Harry walked nervously into Snape's office. It was his first Occlumency lesson and he was nervous. What if Snape sees Draco? Draco had assured him it would be fine and it was important to protect his mind from Voldemort and Snape would try to help rather than hinder. He knocked on the door.

"Come in." Snape sneered. Harry entered slowly, trying to waste time.

"You are late." Snape stated. "You will stay an extra ten minutes at the end." Harry sighed.

"Yes sir."

"Take out your wand Potter. You can use any method you feel necessary as I enter your mind." Harry nodded.

"Legilimens!" Harry's memories flashed across his eyes. It was off putting as he tried to 'close his mind'. There were lots of memories of Dudley, Ron, Hermione, the Weasleys, and then one of Draco. It was an old one. From third year. Draco had his head in Harry's lap. He'd just passed out from the pain in his wings but was beginning to awaken. That's when Harry had had enough. He felt a sharp pain in his knee and the memories stopped. He opened his eyes to find he was kneeling on the floor and Snape was rubbing his wrist.

"Did you mean to cast a stinging hex?"

Harry shook his head getting up from the floor.

"You let me get in too deep try again."

Harry inwardly groaned. His head already hurt and his scar was prickling and he just wanted to lie down.

"Legilimens!" Again, memories flashed across his eyes. Fluffy, the Dementors swarming around Sirius, hugging Sirius, Hagrid's Christmas fudge, staring at Draco from across the Great Hall, Draco dragging him into the Prefect bathroom to figure out the egg, leaning in to kiss Dra- NO! Harry opened his eyes and breathed heavily. His head felt like it was full of sand. But he was more worried about the end memory. Snape told him to stand up and they tried again. And again and again. Each time Harry was no better than the last. Only stopping Snape when there was an intimate memory of Draco.

"Enough!" Snape cried. "Clearly Potter, you are no good at this. I'll see you next week." Harry stumbled out of the office. His ears were ringing, his eyes watering where he was barely able to keep them open and his head throbbing to the point he thought he would pass out. He just kept thinking what if Voldemort wanted Draco, used him against Harry. And jealousy coursed through him. He continued to storm back to his common room. Voldemort could never have Draco. Draco was his and some fucking snake head twisted shit wasn't going to steal him away. Harry hissed that password at the painting and slipped through as soon as the gap was wide enough. The common room empty apart from his boyfriend curled on the sofa, soft sighs falling from his lips as he slept, wings loosely wrapped around him.

"Dray…?" Harry whispered, before he huffed, the smaller male still not responding to his words. Harry frowned before he moved forward and kissed Draco anyway, angry lips crashed down on Draco's parted. Barely feeling Draco wake and gasp quietly as he pulled back. Eyes wide and hair ruffled.

"Harry! Are you okay? How did it g-" He fell silent as Harry ignored him, sitting on the sofa next to the blonde before he surged forward and started to kiss him again.

"Less talk, more kiss." He ordered softly, hardly hearing Draco's amused giggle before Harry wrapped his arms round his waist and pulled him closer. A small gasp slipped from the blonde's lips as he eagerly responded, hands reaching up to tangle in dark slightly damp hair as he tugged softly. He was completely unprepared for Harry pushing him down onto the soft leather, hands moving to his hips as he moaned softly.

"You are mine." Harry growled huskily as he bit down on Draco's soft bottom lip, sucking it to soothe the pain. Draco whimpered and softly nodded his head, as much as he could with Harry holding his hair in an almost painful grip.

"I- no one else…" He promised as he looked up at him with wide honest eyes. Harry staring back for a few seconds before he suddenly moved down and bit into the pale skin of Draco's neck. The blonde crying out as he squirmed, the pleasure becoming too much. Harry's hands moved down to hold the smaller boy in place as he sucked an almost black mark to the hollow of his throat, before he pulled back and smirked. Now everyone had to realize Draco was his, more so than ever. He looked up at the blonde's face and smiled slightly as he saw flushed cheeks and hitched breathing, and so leant forward to kiss Draco deeply again, giving no time for a quick intake of breath. Draco's hands gripped the front of Harry's shirt as he tried to decide if he wanted to pull him closer or away so he could breathe. His choice was made for him when Harry pulled back to whisper a spell he couldn't quite hear. Harry kissed him roughly as Draco felt hands begin to unbutton his shirt, too overwhelmed to protest as it was eventually charmed off over his wings. We're in the Gryffindor common room. Shit shit shit.

"Harry-Harry you need to fold that…" He muttered before Harry laughed, ignoring him as he left his lips in favour for his chest. Tongue almost lazily exploring it as the blonde whimpered and gasped, arching his body eagerly into the touch. Draco froze slightly as he felt hands on his belt buckle, and Harry hushed him quietly, brushing his lips against his in the sweetest gesture they had shared that night.

"Shh baby…" Harry whispered, before he very slowly pulled Draco's jeans down, pressing their lips together in what became yet another rough and desperate kiss. Harry waited until Draco was completely relaxed in his arms before he moved his hand down, starting to palm him lightly. Draco gasped as he pushed his hips up, a small breathless moan already falling from his lips. Harry smiled at his response as he let his fingers slip under the edge of the boy's underwear, starting to spread the pre-cum gathering on his tip, thankful he had cast a lubing spell on his hand before so not to hurt Draco. The blonde moaned and gripped onto Harry's hair as he let his head fall back onto the arm of the sofa, eyes fluttering shut as Harry started to very, so very slowly rub his fingers along his aching length. Staring to pump it as he kissed along Draco's neck, biting and sucking at the light flesh as the blonde continued to moan and whimper with every movement of Harry's hand.

"Harry-Harry oh Merlin…" he breathed, hips bucking into the warmth of his palm as he already felt the heat coil in his stomach. "Harry please- I'm close…" Harry stopped as he heard Draco say that, a small smirk on his face at the alarmed whimper that fell from his boyfriend's lips. Fingers curling around the base of his cock and tightening so he couldn't come. Harry moved up so he could look at Draco's face. His bottom lip red and sore from biting down on it so hard. His eyes were closed.

"Look at me Draco." Harry ordered softly, smiling as grey eyes opened to look widely up at him, begging for release.

"Hmm… So beautiful like this Dray…" Harry breathed, before he tilted his head. "Who can see you like this Dray?" He hissed quietly, starting to kiss his neck again.

"You." Draco whimpered in reply, a small moan slipping from his lips as the need to come washed over him. Harry smiled.

"Why…?" He muttered, moving away so he could look in Draco's eyes.

"Because… Because I'm yours… and you're mine." Draco finally whispered, yelping as Harry bit down hard on his neck as Harry's fingers moved away, Draco crying out softly as he came over his stomach and chest. Slumping back against the now sticky leather his eyes fell shut again.

Hermione had gotten up early to check about some homework in the library. No one else would be up for at least another hour. She wondered down the stairs and into the common room. Then stopped abruptly. There were clothes strewn over the floor near the centre sofa. She took a few cautious steps toward the sofa, hoping to find out who it was without seeing too much. She didn't want whoever was lying there to be found by the rest of Gryffindor. As she got closer she recognized the two people as Harry and Draco. Her eyes widened and she stopped walking just in case. She clapped her hands loudly, hoping to wake the pair up but not the whole of Gryffindor house. After a couple of seconds Harry raised his head from Draco's chest.

"Hermione!" He said cheerfully. "What are you do- oh shit." His cheeks turned pink as his eyes widened.

"You better get dressed or something before the rest of the house wakes up and catches you."

Harry nodded and woke Draco up, telling him they needed to get up. The blonde raised his head as Harry cast a cleaning charm and his eyes widened and his wings wrapped round the pair when he saw Hermione.

"Hello." He said.

"Hi." Hermione turned around to let them get dressed. There was a lot of shuffling from behind her and she tried not to think about what must have happened the previous night.

"We're done." Harry called. The bushy haired Gryffindor turned around slowly.

"We're never to speak of this again." She said, the two boys instantly relaxing. She walked towards the portrait hole when Draco said something.

"Hermione, thanks."

She just nodded and left.

They were in the middle of teaching the Patronus charm when he came. Dobby the Free Elf.

"Hi Dobby, what are you doing here!?" Harry asked, kneeling down to be at the same height as the elf.

"Umbridge is coming." He whispered as Harry restrained him from running into the wall.

Harry looked up at everyone. Eyes wide and panicked and Dobby Disapparated with a loud pop. "Everyone needs to leave. Now." Draco nodded at Harry as they made their way towards the doors, herding everyone out. The throng of people were all running round, people getting lost and knocked over as members of the Inquisitorial Squad chased and grabbed at them.

"Harry! HARRY!?"

"I'm here Dray! RUN!" Draco ran wildly out of door and saw Harry waiting for him. "C'mon." Harry said, helping Draco along.

"Well well well. What do we have here?" Umbitch said. Draco deflated as he saw they were surrounded.

"I'll carry Malfoy Miss." Valentine said, walking confidently over. Draco shivered and leaned further into Harry. Valentine harshly gripped his wrist and picked him up, bridal style. Draco fought the urge to throw up and hung limp in the older boy's arms. He could hear Harry shouting as he was dragged along behind.

"YOU LET GO OF HIM! I SWEAR TO MERLIN IF YOU EVEN TOUCH HIM I WILL KILL YOU! JUST MAKE ME YOU UGLY BITCH. YOU DON'T NEED HIM." Draco realised with a jolt that they were being led to Dumbledore's office.

Dumbledore's army. Duh. They'll be thinking that he's set up a group to storm the Ministry. Bunch of dicks. Draco thought to himself.

No matter his thoughts, he was not set down in the office, if anything Valentine gripped him closer to his chest, crushing his wings.

"PUT HIM DOWN!" Harry roared.

"Quiet Harry." Dumbledore said, silencing the boy at once. There were a lot of people in the office. Fudge, McGonagall, Kingsley Shacklebolt, a Weasley, and a man whom Draco could not name. He closed his eyes tightly and put his hands over his ears. He did not want to hear the conversation. After a few minutes, Draco began to get scared but he still didn't even open his eyes. He felt he was being shifted in Valentine's arms and opened his eyes and uncovered his ears. He was being put down. And everyone was arguing. He paid no attention and just staggered over Harry who discreetly held his hand. All at once there was a flash of silver light and Draco what pulled to the floor by Harry. A second flash went off and then there was a crash. Draco felt Harry pulling him up and stood.

"Well shit." Harry mumbled. Draco had no idea what had happened just then. Nor in the previous conversation. All he knew was that Dumbledore had disappeared and he wanted Harry to hold him.

"Go." McGonagall whispered. And so they did. As they neared the Prefect Bathroom Draco asked what happened.

"Well they basically think Dumbledore was creating an army of students to fight against the Ministry so they were gonna take him to Azkaban but then he disappeared." Draco nodded. He'd been right.

"I'm sorry." He whispered.

"We can still continue it though. Just because Dumbledore isn't here it doesn't mean everything has to stop. We have to be strong. Hell we'd have to be strong anyway in the war." Draco shuddered.

"I love you." He said, grabbing Harry tightly.

"I love you too."

A few weeks later and it was getting close to Easter. Draco was restless, lessons were boring and they were no closer to figuring out his attacker. He sighed, hitting his head on the desk. He just wanted to be with Harry.

"Draco will you stop I'm trying to concentrate on my revision." Pansy scolded.

"WHY IT'S NOT LIKE ANY OF IT WILL MATTER IF I DIE WILL IT!?" Draco regretted it as soon as it left his mouth but he was too upset and angry to care. He stormed out of the common room with his head down and his hands buried in his pockets. Teeth gritted as he walked towards the Quidditch pitch. Why did he always have to go and do that?! Pansy was probably crying now and it was all his fault. He huffed, not hearing anyone walk up to him until he heard that voice.

"Hello Dray." Valentine purred, making the small blonde jump and turn around, opening his mouth to gasp before he bit his lip, keeping it in as he walked back from Valentine. Wondering how the boy managed to get so close without Draco realizing.

"Hello." He muttered quietly as he looked over his shoulder, trying to see if there was anyone he could run to. The tall Slytherin had tilted his head and was staring at him with intensity Draco wasn't hugely comfortable with.

"What are you doing all alone out here? Where are your friends…?" He asked softly making Draco swallow thickly as he blinked up at him.

"Umm… I am meeting them… Soon…" He muttered as he looked over his shoulder again, wings wrapping tightly around his body as he took another step back. Valentine following after him with a step forward, raising his eyebrow.

"I think you're lying Draco, you look…upset, are you okay?" he asked softly, making the blonde look up again with wide eyes. He sounded…like he cared. And that was so…Much scarier…

"I'm- I'm fine I just want to see Harry." He whispered as he looked up at Valentine, seeing the boy's eye flash dark before they cleared again.

"You can talk to me Dray, you know that. All those… mistakes can be swept under the carpet. Can they not? Second chance and all that?" He smiled leaving Draco to do nothing but slowly nod. Did he really mean it? He looked like he did, and… and he didn't think he was lying.

"O-okay." Draco muttered before spotting Luna by the trees, sighing inwardly with relief. "I need to go now bye!" He said quickly, before he turned on his heel and ran towards her, still wondering if Valentine was being truthful or not. And it was when Draco's back was turned that Valentine let a small smirk finally slip onto his lips, walking back to the castle. It was all coming together now…
