Chapter 14: Air Show.

Tina was at her house watching the television. Obviously, she was bored because there was nothing that caught her attention. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Tina goes to answer it. It was Bugs.

"Oh, hi Bugs, what's up?" Tina said.

"Hi Tina. I was wondering if you want to go to the Acmetropolis Air Show with me." Bugs said.

"Sure. Besides, I'm bored anyway and there's nothing to do at the house or anything on TV." Tina said.

"My grandfather is gonna drop us off." Bugs said.

"Okay. The air show is at Lake Foray, right?" Tina asked.

"Yeah." Bugs replied.

With that, Bugs and Tina heads for the car that Happy is driving at.

"Hello, Tina. Good to see you again." Happy said.

"Nice to see you too, Happy." Tina said.

Afterwards, Happy drives them to downtown Acmetropolis, which at the New City district and near the government complex, as well as the headquarters for the ACME Coporation. Lake Foray is at that area.

"So, how come you pick me to come with you, Bugs?" Tina asked.

"Ehh, Daffy had to work at the movie theater, everyone else has plans, and of course, you know that Lola's dad forbidded her from seeing me, so you were the only person that came to my mind. Besides, why not pick you?" Bugs replied.

"True." Tina said. "Hey, Happy, how come you can't come with us?" Tina asked.

"Ehh, don't like being in public too much. Sure, I may be famous, but I don't want to deal with the paparazzi, since I'm old, you know." Happy replied.

"Ah, I see." Tina said.

After a few minutes of driving through the highway, and going through turns, Happy reaches the destination and drops Bugs and Tina off.

"You kids have fun now." Happy said.

"Grandpa, let you know the show ends at five." Bugs said.

"Okay, I'll pick you all up at that time." Happy said.

With that, Happy left and Bugs and Tina starts walking around.

"So when does the air show start?" Tina asked.

"It should start in 10 minutes. That gives us enough time to get snacks and get some gifts." Bugs said.

After getting some snacks and gifts, mainly models of fighter jets, Tina and Bugs finds a spot to take a seat and enjoy the show.

"I heard that the F-22 is gonna be part of the show." Tina said.

"Oh yeah. The Raptor is gonna steal the show, not to mention it's one of my favorite fighter jets." Bugs said.

"Well, we do live in America." Tina said.

"Yeah, that's true, but still, the F-22 is the best." Bugs said. "Hopefully I'll fly one once I join the USAF."

Afterwards, Tina and Bugs then stood up as the 'Star Spangled Banner' was being played on the loudspeakers, while a military parajumper parachuted as he flew the American flag. Afterwards, the show began. The first performance starts when a V-22 Osprey appears and starts rotating its rotors so that it can hover above the water.

"Wow, It's amazing that an aircraft can do that." Tina said.

"It's the only one too. Must be difficult to pilot a airplane/helicopter." Bugs said.

After a few minutes, the V-22 ended its performance and flew away. A few minutes, later, Tina and Bugs gets to see a amazing perfromance by the Black Diamond Jet Team as they fly their L-39 Albatros jets and leaving contrails.

"Aren't those aircraft built in Eastern Europe?" Tina asked.

"Yes. The Czech Republic builts them. It used to be operated by the Soviet Air Force years ago." Bugs said.

"I never knew that we used a aircraft that was operated by a former Cold War foe." Tina said.

After another few minutes, the jet team ends their performance. The air show was great and Tina and Bugs are enjoying it. They saw performances from a C-130 military transport plane. A stunt plane doing maneuvers, a training excercise from two MH-60 Blackhawk helicopters, and a performance from the US Navy's Blue Angels. However, the next performance will steal the show.

"Ohh, here comes the F-22 Raptor." Bugs said as he points at a direction.

Tina looks and sees a F-22 Raptor approaching. Tina knows a little about this fighter jet. It's a stealth fighter and the pride of the US armed forces. The Raptor flys near them making a deafening roar from its engines as it passes them.

"Wow, I can't believe I'm seeing a Raptor before my eyes." Tina said.

"The pilot must be having fun flying that jet. Hopefully, when I join the USAF, I'll fly a Raptor of my own." Bugs said.

The F-22 performs, doing maneuvers that are unbelievable, passes the audience at high speeds, and shows off its weapons bay, and then finally flying in formation with a P-51 Mustang. Tina and Bugs awe at the site. Afterwards, the air show came to an end. Tina and Bugs then waits at the parking lot for Happy to pick them up. Then, on schedule, Happy arrives on the dot. Tina and Bugs gets inside the car and starts heading home.

"So how was the air show, kids?" Happy asked.

"It was really cool. Got to see lots of different aircraft perform. Both military and civilian." Tina said.

"We also got to see the F-22." Bugs said with excitement.

"That's nice. I'll tell you all, the planes the military flys now these days are really nice. Back in my days, the P-51 Mustang was the plane every pilot wants to fly in combat." Happy said.

"We saw that plane flying in formation with the Raptor." Tina said.

"Well, I guess it shows the new generation of aircraft that people wants to fly. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't last for a minute in a fighter jet. I'll just stick to my P-38 Lighting." Happy said.

"Maybe next year, you can come with us to see the planes." Tina said.

"I'll try to go with you kids next year." Happy said.

Afterwards, Happy drops Tina off at her house and says goodbye. Tina says bye to Happy and Bugs before they drove off and she walks in her house. She is greeted by Susan.

"Hi sweethart. How was the air show?" Susan asked.

"It was exciting. Got see a lot of different aircraft." Tina said.

"That's nice. I'm glad you had a good time. How is Bugs doing?" Susan asked.

"He's doing fine, but I know that he's depressed thanks to his...well, I shouldn't talk about it. Anyway, you want me to set the table?" Tina said.

"Sure, dinner is gonna be ready in a few minutes. And it's just you and me. Your father is working late tonight." Susan said.

"Okay." Tina said.

Afterwards, Tina displays her airplane models in her sleeve later on tonight. However, there is one thing in her mind and that is to help her friend Bugs.
