Hello everyone! I'm back with chapter 14 ;) Thank you to everyone who reviewed, favorited and followed and of course to my beta who does an amazing job.
Here I'll answer to a few guests reviews to answer there questions but I can only answer those who put a pseudo of course and only those who asked questions because it would take too long to say thank you to all of you one by one so I THANK YOU ALL for your amazing reviews. I see a lot of people liked Katherine and I'm glad about it because I was not sure when I wrote her.
Zoe: I won't make you the most depressed person in the world because I won't stop writing this story don't worry ;) As for Caroline being a virgin she said in chapter 13 that she is not and she was not lying so I'm sorry if it disappoints you. But even with Caroline not being a virgin there is still all the stuff about wolves not liking to share. I can assure you that Klaus doesn't like to share at all.
Chapter 14 :
Once at the castle, Klaus was the first one to get out of the carriage. Once he was out he turned around to see the lackey proposing his hand to Caroline. Maybe she would feel better that she was finally treated as a woman. But Caroline just ignored the lackey and then him and went directly toward the castle. Klaus sighed and looked back at the carriage waiting for the others to come out. Okay, so she was still upset.
Caroline decided to ignore Klaus. It would be easier like this if she didn't want to yell. She stepped out of the carriage and the lackey proposed his help. It was a little too late for that now. She looked at him with a hateful glare and brushed past him and then brushed past Klaus. She was not really in a good mood right now and didn't feel like waiting for the others to come out so she just left without them.
As soon as Kol was out of the carriage Klaus came closer to him. He hadn't forgotten that he suspected that Kol had compelled Caroline. He came closer menacingly and once he was in front of him he grabbed him by the throat.
"You compelled Caroline, didn't you?" He growled.
"I had no choice. She heard me talk about werewolves." Kol said to defend himself.
Klaus let go of Kol and took a step back. He didn't want anyone to compel Caroline but he had to admit that Kol had a good reason. Of course he didn't know that Kol didn't give him the exact explanation. But he was also curious to know what had been her reaction. Did she believe in werewolves? It would be easier if she did for the day he would tell her what he was. Would he tell her one day? Of course he would. But he was also scared that she wouldn't want to see him anymore.
"How did she react when she heard you talk about werewolves?" He asked Kol.
"She laughed and asked me if I was drunk." Kol answered and quickly left. He didn't need his brother to ask anymore questions and find out that he had talked to her about werewolves purposefully and had attempted to compel her to know about her.
Klaus thought for a little moment. She had laughed and asked if Kol was drunk. So she didn't believe in werewolves. It would be difficult to make her understand that he was serious the day he would tell her. He wouldn't tell her now. He wouldn't lose her now. Because she deserved to know but that's what would happen. He would lose her the day he would tell her.
Caroline entered the castle and immediately went to her room. She dropped on the bed and stared at the ceiling. She stayed like this for an entire hour. Then she decided that she was hungry and that it was time for her to go eat her dinner. She left her room and walked toward the kitchen but of course she had to cross path with Klaus in the corridors. She was counting on ignoring him but when she past next to him not even looking at him he grabbed her arm.
"Caroline, wait. Where are you going?" He asked her nicely.
"I'm hungry. I'm just gonna eat something in the kitchen." She replied harshly.
Klaus was mad too. Maybe he had ignored her in the village but now she was the one ignoring him and he wanted to raise his voice. But Caroline was mad and the best thing to do was to talk to her nicely. At least it was what he thought.
"I'll be waiting for you in my room then." He said and smiled at her.
Caroline yanked her arm away from him. How dared he ignore her all afternoon and then act as if he hadn't? But the problem was that he had. He had been embarrassed of being seen with her in public. But then why did he take her? Maybe he would have been closer with Hayley. And here it was. Caroline had always said that jealousy was a bad default.
"I'll be waiting for you? Seriously? I'll be waiting for you?" She yelled in his face, "Then let me tell you that you'll wait for a while because I'm not sleeping in your room."
Klaus was taken aback by her outburst. He had talked to her nicely. He had thought that if he talked to her nicely and didn't rise his voice she would stay calm but it seemed he had been wrong. And if there was one thing that Klaus hated, it was when people raised their voice on him. It reminded him of his father when he was still human.
"And why wouldn't you?" He asked on the verge to yell as well to match her tone.
Was he serious? Was he seriously asking why she wouldn't sleep in his room? He was ashamed of her. Maybe he was disgusted by her. Who knew? She was a slave and she was dirty and all of those things a slave is.
"I think the right question is: Why would I sleep in your room? Because you ignored me all afternoon. I am not stupid Klaus! You think I didn't understand? You are just ashamed of me. I'm just a disgusting slave. I don't even know how you can accept that I sleep in the same bed as you because I'm dirty. You shouldn't even come close to me because maybe I have some illness." She shouted and then turned around to leave.
While Caroline was talking Klaus understood her anger. He understood where she came from. She thought he was ashamed of her. But he was not. How could he be ashamed of being with this beautiful creature? Was she dirty? He didn't know, he hadn't noticed because he didn't care. She could roll in mud and then he would still find her beautiful. He had found her beautiful when she had all of her bruises on her face the first day he saw her after all. Then he saw her turn around and started to walk away.
"Caroline wait..." Klaus said curtly. Because he was still mad for the way she talked to him.
"No! I don't want to hear your explanations! You can run in hell." She yelled not controlling herself at all. Then she went in the kitchen.
Once Caroline was in the kitchen Klaus hit the wall hard with his fist but only using his human force not to destroy the wall. She was hurt it was obvious. That was why she was talking like this to him. She wanted to make him believe that she didn't care but Klaus knew better. He had hurt her and it hurt him to think about it. She thought she was too dirty to share a bed with him. If it was her excuse, so be it. She was too dirty.
"You," Klaus yelled as he saw one of the slaves passing by, "I have a task for you. Right now."
Caroline once in the kitchen heard Klaus hit the wall pretty hard and closed her eyes. Maybe she should have let him explain? Maybe he had a good reason? Maybe he was not embarrassed by her? But of course he was. There was no other logical explanation.
Half an hour later Klaus was waiting in front of Caroline's room for her to come back. He wouldn't sleep without her tonight. He would bring her in his room by force if he had to. Then he saw her walking his way. It was about time that she showed up. She was about to walk past him and directly on her room when Klaus grabbed her and gently threw her on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
"Klaus, Let go of me! Put me down, Klaus. Klaus! I'm not joking! I swear that if you don't put me down right now..." She shouted banging her fists on his back and her legs on his torso.
"You'll what, love?" Klaus asked smirking.
Caroline continued to shout and kick him all the way to his room but Klaus ignored it and opened the door of his room. Once in his room Caroline began to squirm even more if it was possible, which quite amused Klaus.
"I said I wouldn't spend the night in you room, Niklaus." She said sternly.
Klaus felt his heart skip a beat when she called him 'Niklaus'. Oh god, if it was supposed to stop him, well, the only result it had was to arouse him.
"Yeah, I know. Because you are dirty? Don't worry I thought about everything, love." He answered opening the door of the bathroom.
Caroline's eyes went wide when she noticed that the tub was filled with water. He wouldn't dare, would he?
"Don't you dare! No, Klaus. Don't do this." She was half begging, half yelling.
And just like that. Klaus put her in the tub. Caroline squirmed and tried to get out of the tub but it was to no avail. Her dress was soaked now. Happily he didn't put her head under water. It was her worst fear. Since she was a little girl she had always been terrified every time her mother would give her a bath. For Caroline it was the worse way to die. Drowning. She was terrified by water. Then Klaus let go of her and looked at her tenderly before touching her cheeks and she only now realized that a tear had fell from her eyes.
Klaus was holding her in the water but of course letting her head out of it. She said she couldn't sleep in his bed because she was dirty then he gave her a bath. She wouldn't have any excuses now. But as he was holding her he looked in her eyes and all he could see there was fear. Was she scared of him? He knew she couldn't swim but he hadn't thought that she would have this reaction at someone holding her in the water. A single tear fell from her eyes and he let go of her and brushed it away.
Caroline pushed his hand away form her face harshly. To say that she was angry was an understatement. She stood up and got out of the tub. She stood in front of Klaus and without controlling anything she slapped him across the face.
Klaus' head turned to the side with the force she put in her slap and because she took him by surprise. Never a woman had slapped Klaus before, ever. Many had tried but had ended up dead. He felt his blood boil. He turned his head slowly to face her once more and let a loud growl leave his lips. She better not do it again.
"You are beautiful, Caroline, but if you do this again I'll kill you." He said in a menacing tone.
Kill her? He would kill her? Was he threatening her to kill her? Seriously? If it was supposed to calm her down it surely failed because she was even angrier now. How dared he threaten her life? She raised her hand to slap him a second time but he caught it before it touched his face. His hold on her hand was firm and tight but it still didn't hurt.
"How dare you threaten my life?" Caroline yelled, "I just did it again, didn't I?" she asked, "Then go ahead, Kill me!" She exclaimed even louder. Then Klaus turned her around and enveloped her with his arms to keep her from moving. She had her back pressed to his chest and tried to move away from him. "Let go of me! Leave me." She said.
"Never." Klaus said. He would never leave her. "I wasn't ashamed of you today, Caroline. I was even proud of you in the gown store. Why would I ever be ashamed of the most beautiful woman I've ever seen? I was just protecting you from people who could hurt you if they noticed that you mean something to me. Don't you see that you mean something to me and that I wouldn't forgive myself if something happened to you?" He said in a calm tone.
Then Klaus let go of her, threw a towel and a nightgown that a slave had brought earlier at his demand. He didn't watch to see if she caught it and simply left the bathroom slamming the door behind him. He went to sit on his bed. He should kill her. Anyone else would be dead. He should have killed her when she slapped him but he hadn't and then she tried to do it a second time and he still hadn't killed her. He could never do that. He had said he would just because he was angry. But she could slap him a hundred times and yet he wouldn't kill her.
Caroline jumped when he slammed the door. He was just protecting her. He was not ashamed of her. She meant something to him. Caroline felt a smile growing on her lips but it quickly fell. She slapped him. Caroline was not someone violent. She had raised her hand on him. She had raised her hand on the man she loved.
Wait.
She loved him. That was why it had hurt so much thinking he was ashamed. But he was not and she had slapped him. Caroline hated violence. Maybe he had threatened to kill her but as a result he hadn't even hurt her. He hadn't even raised his hand on her but she did. Twice. When she was around Klaus she had no control. He made her lose all of her control.
She felt guilty. What was she going to do now? Would he even want to talk to her again? She quickly took her wet dress off, dried herself and put the nightgown on. It was not the same that she usually wore. It was one of quality. It must be an expensive one. Then she let her long curly hair fall freely and wildly. She approached the door and put her hand on the handle. She took a deep breath and opened the door.
On the other side of the door she saw Klaus seated on the edge of his bed and looking at the window from the distance. He had his elbows on his knees and his head on his closed fists. He had a serious look on his face and Caroline hesitated a moment before closing the door behind her and slowly approaching him. He didn't look toward her once. He kept his eyes on the window. Caroline sat next to him on the bed and put her joined hands on her lap playing with her fingers. She looked at him once more and bit her lower lip. He wasn't acknowledging her and she knew that it was because she slapped him.
It was stupid to feel that guilty about it. It wasn't that much of a big deal. She hadn't killed someone or anything. But she couldn't help it. She looked at the window and felt her eyes fill with tears once more. It was incredible how this man could make her smile and laugh but also cry and yell. She turned her head toward him to look at him and came closer to him. She placed a small gentle kiss on the cheek she had slapped.
"I'm sorry." She whispered with a hoarse voice.
When she pulled away he still didn't look at her. He didn't have any expression on his face. She couldn't even tell if he was still angry or if he had calmed down. Seeing his lack of reaction she thought that it would be better if she slept in her room tonight. Her chest tightened but she stood up and turned toward the door before walking toward it.
When Klaus saw in the corner of his eyes Caroline sit next to him he didn't move. If she was here to yell at him he wouldn't be the one to start it this time. He was still mad at her for slapping him. He could tell thanks to her breathing that she was nervous. Maybe she thought he was going to hurt her? Anyway, she could think whatever she wanted he didn't care. Then he felt her move closer to him and she placed a kiss on his cheek whispering an apology. He heard her voice and understood that she must be crying. But he wouldn't budge. Not this time.
Then she stood up and passed in front of him. Klaus wondered what she was doing so he eventually looked at her when she had her back turned to him and he realized that she was walking to the door. He didn't want her to leave. He wanted her to stay. He wanted to stop her from leaving but he had said that he wouldn't budge, not this time. But then Caroline stopped and looked at him with questions and tears in her eyes. She looked down at her hand so Klaus followed her and looked at her hand to see that he had grabbed it. He hadn't even noticed it. But he had grabbed her hand for her to stay.
He looked up at her face and pulled at her hand and once she was close enough he grabbed her hips and sat her on his lap. He felt his heart quickening when she slightly touched his cheek with her fingers and then placed little kisses on his cheek as if she was trying to remove any trace of her slap. But there was no trace. It was almost as if he hadn't felt it even if he knew that she put all her strength in it. He grabbed her face in his hands and brought her lips to his. He kissed her lips tenderly and he felt a tear falling on his thumb that was on her face. He broke the kiss and kissed her cheek instead, tasting the salty tear on his lips. He hated to see her cry.
"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have slapped you. I shouldn't have raised my hand on you." She said as more tears fell from her eyes.
She didn't know how strong he was and how frail she was in his arms. She didn't know that her slap hadn't hurt him. He could hear the guilt in her voice and his chest tightened. He didn't see it like her raising her hand on him. But then again, him slapping her would be raising his hand on her. And he would never do it.
"Ssh, it's okay, sweetheart. Look at me. We had a little spat, I'm over it already." He said gently and tenderly. Then he smiled, "But it doesn't mean I'm okay with you slapping me again."
Caroline nodded and smiled. She brought her lips to his and kissed him before he broke the kiss once more. She looked at him confused. Maybe he was still mad at her after all.
"Why did you react like you did in the tub? I wasn't going to drown you, love. I would never hurt you, I promise. But you looked like you thought I would." He asked concerned.
Caroline looked away then back at him, "I'm scared of water. I'm not scared of taking a bath, of course. But I need to be alone while in water. Drowning would be the worst death I could ever have. The idea of being under water and fighting for breath, knowing that you are going to die. Your lungs burning screaming for you to take a breath but you can't. You are under water waiting for your death and even if it's actually a few minutes it seems like hours to you." she explained. It had always been that way. It had always been her greatest fear since she was a child but she didn't know why. It was just that way.
Klaus frowned, "But you can trust me. I would never do that to you." he stated. She didn't trust him enough to be close to her while she was in the water. She should know by now that he wouldn't kill her.
"I know. It's not about you. When I was a child and my mother was giving me baths I was also scared. Even with my own mother. You don't have to take it personally." She explained to him taking his head in her tiny hands and kissing his lips one last time before saying, "Can we go to bed now? I'm tired."
Klaus smiled at her and nodded. They quickly went under the sheets and Klaus thought about what she had said. She had always been scared of the water. Maybe she had a traumatism but didn't even know it herself? No, she was just scared. A lot of people are scared of water. There was nothing else to think about it. He hoped that one day she would trust him enough to let him be close to her even in the water. But he doubted it. She didn't even trust her mother enough. Caroline cuddled against him and he looked down to see that she was already asleep. He smiled and closed his eyes.
It was morning and Caroline and Klaus were both awake but still in each others arms. Klaus had been thinking all night about something. He wanted to talk to Caroline about it but didn't know what her reaction would be.
"There will be a ball in the castle next week." Klaus announced.
Caroline looked up. She knew about the ball. Every slave knew. They had already started to prepare everything for it.
"I know. Rebekah is so excited about it. She kept talking about it yesterday in the gown store. She said that her personal needlewoman would come over today to prepare her ball gown." Caroline stated with her chin on his chest.
"I'd like you to attend to the ball. And I would introduce you as a Lady." Klaus said seriously.
Caroline was bewildered. He would introduce her as a Lady and not as a slave? That would be awesome. But she was not a Lady. And with her dresses it wouldn't be difficult to notice it.
"But I am not a Lady. I am a slave and I don't have a decent gown for a ball." Caroline explained.
"Of course you are a Lady, you are my Lady." Caroline blushed and he smiled, "And don't worry for the gown you'll just go with Rebekah in her room and her needlewoman will make one for you too." He said smiling.
Caroline was so happy. She never went to a ball before, ever. There would surely be a lot of other Lords. Her parents were not Lord and Lady. They had been when Caroline was still a little girl so it would have been natural for her to be a Lady but then her grandparents had died and her father's status had been taken from him.
"Thank you. I will have a true ball gown with a corset and all?" She asked excited.
Klaus smiled, "Yes, you will." he said happy to see her like this.
"How does Lady Caroline Forbes sound?" She asked him.
Klaus looked at her for a minute. It sounded great. But what would sound perfect would be Lady Caroline Mikaelson. Wait, what is he thinking? Why was he thinking like this?
"It sounds great." He said. He had wanted to say perfect but he couldn't. There was something else that sounded perfect.
Caroline brought her face closer to him and kissed his lips. Klaus broke the kiss because he remembered something. He smirked and looked at Caroline.
"So, you talked with Katherine about how large I am?" He asked teasingly.
Caroline blushed and looked away. Damn you Katherine Pierce, she thought. "Huh, no! I... she asked. You know Katherine." She said with a nervous laughter, "She asked the same thing to Bonnie about Kol." and she realized what she had said only once it was said. She tried to act normal hoping he wouldn't notice her mention of Bonnie and Kol.
Klaus kept his smile on. He noticed that Caroline had talked about Kol and Bonnie but decided to ignore it for now. He would ask her about it another time. Right now, all he could think about was the beauty in his arms. She was so uncomfortable that it was cute.
"Come here." He said before grabbing her face and kissing her.
Klaus and Caroline moved their lips against one another. Caroline took Klaus' lower lip between her teeth playfully and Klaus opened his mouth. She took this opportunity to enter his mouth with her tongue and their tongues began to dance together. There was no fight for control. They were both tenderly kissing each other. At some point, Klaus rolled them both over so he was on top of Caroline. Caroline had her legs slightly open and Klaus placed himself between them still kissing her. Their mouth never left each other.
Klaus was a vampire so he didn't need to breathe but after a moment Caroline broke the kiss to breathe. She was breathing heavily. When she broke the kiss Klaus started to kiss her cheeks then her jaw. He went down to her neck and Caroline brought her hands in his hair. She passed her fingers through his short curls and moaned when Klaus sucked on her pulse point.
When Klaus heard her moan a growl of satisfaction left his mouth and she answered it by pulling at his hair to bring him even closer to her and entangling her legs with his. She felt so good and safe in his arms. He was being so gentle to her. She felt his hands coming up her sides over her nightgown and going to her shoulders. He took the fabric away from her shoulders and kissed the new exposed skin while his hands went to her breasts and caressed them over the fabric. Caroline felt her nipples hardening and her core was aching for him.
Klaus felt her nipples hardening through the fabric of her nightgown under his touches and smiled. Thanks to his sensible sense of smell he could smell her excitement growing. And he could clearly feel his too. He was already hard for her. He continued to put the fabric down her arms and exposed her breasts to his eyes at the same time.
As soon as they were exposed Caroline brought her hands over them to hide herself. Klaus looked up in her eyes and took her hands away from her breasts. He looked down at them and Caroline blushed. Never a man had looked at her like this.
She was perfect. Klaus had never seen a woman as beautiful as her. He didn't understand why she would hide when she had breasts that every women would dream to have.
"You are beautiful, Caroline." He whispered and then kissed the roundness of her breasts before taking one nipple in his mouth and teasing the other with his hand. Caroline moaned and brought her hands on his bare shoulders because Klaus always slept bare chest so he hadn't a shirt on. She caressed his shoulders and then his back.
Caroline's hands felt so perfect on his body. As another moan left her mouth she brought her hands back to his hair and pulled to bring his face to hers so she could kiss him. While he kissed her Caroline's hands caressed his chest and then she brought them back to his back.
When she brought her hands to his back he pressed himself against her and she felt his hardness against her core through the fabric of his pants and her dress. And she stopped moving. She stopped moving her hands and dropped them on the bed. She stopped moving her legs that were caressing his. She stopped moving her lips. She wanted to push him away but it was as if she couldn't move.
After a minute, Klaus noticed that she was not moving with him anymore. Not even her lips. He stopped kissing her and looked up at her confused. What was wrong?
"What's wrong?" He asked her, "Did I do something wrong?" he added concerned.
"No, I just... I'm sorry. It's not you. It's me. I can't." She said trying to cover her chest with her trembling hands.
Klaus noticed that she was struggling to cover her breasts and he grabbed her nightgown to put it back on over her chest. Of course Klaus was frustrated that she had stopped him like this but he understood. She was a virgin and he understood that she was not ready yet. But it didn't bother him because he knew that one day she would be ready and it would be for him. He knew that for Caroline it was an act of love. And it was for him too. Making love to a woman was an act of love. What he did with the other women was just fuck them. He had never made love. He had been about to do it to Caroline right now but she was not ready.
Klaus would never love a woman who had offered her virginity to another man. He knew that it was also his wolf side talking. But he wouldn't share.
He placed a small peck to her lips and said, "It's okay, I understand."
He rolled off of her and brought her with him so she was resting on his chest. Caroline felt relieved. He had just stopped. Like that. Not even complaining. She kissed his chest before sitting up and looking out the window to see that the sun was already high in the sky.
"I have to go get ready so I can go in Rebekah's room for the ball gown." She said smiling. Then she looked at him hesitant, "If I'm still invited?"
Klaus frowned, "Of course you are still invited." he said sitting up and kissing her lips.
Caroline smiled on his lips and broke the kiss. She quickly got out of the bed and ran toward the door of his room but before she left she sent him a kiss with her hand. Klaus smiled and got up to get ready as well.
Once in her room, Caroline quickly put a new dress on. While she dressed herself she thought about Klaus. He had been so gentle and tender with her. As if he didn't want to break her. Caroline had never thought that a man kissing her body could bring her such sensations. She had never felt any pleasure before. It was something completely new for her. And she thought about how she hadn't been able to ask him to stop. She thought it would be pointless and he would have kept going. But he stopped by himself and she couldn't explain how relieved she had been.
She opened her door to go out and found Hayley standing there. She entered Caroline's room forcing Caroline to take some steps back to let her enter and closed the door behind her. What did she want now? She didn't have much time she had to go to Rebekah's room like right now.
"Is there a problem?" She asked Hayley who had her arms folding over her chest.
Hayley looked at Caroline up and down. She had had some doubts about what Caroline was doing in her mate's room but after hearing her moan this morning she had no doubts anymore. She was following Caroline as much as she could. Stay close to your enemies, Hayley thought. She knew a lot of things about Caroline. Like the fact that she was not a virgin before going with Klaus. She had heard it. She also heard her say that she hadn't slept with Klaus the same day but after this morning she knew she had lied. It was time for her to do something.
"Yes, there is a problem. You will have to stay away from Nik from now on. He is mine. He just wants to fuck you but I'm the one he loves." She said seriously.
Caroline's eyes widened. He was certainly not Hayley's. He was hers. He was with her. She wouldn't go as far as telling that he loved her because he surely didn't but she knew that he cared about her at least. Caroline was not someone jealous by nature but right now she could kill Hayley. It was weird. She had never been that jealous. Only with Klaus. And she called him Nik. Caroline's blood boiled all at once.
She took a menacing step toward Hayley, "Listen to me closely, Hayley. I will not stay away from him. You are the one who will stay away from him because he doesn't love you. And don't you ever call him Nik in front of me. He. Is. Mine" she said.
Hayley looked taken aback for a moment and then looked at Caroline as if she had understood.
"You are that kind of girl. The one who take someone else's man. The mistress who thinks he loves her and will leave the other woman for her. The delusional little pathetic girl. But let me tell you, he told me he loved me. He told it while he was making love to me in his bed. While he was inside of me and whispered my name because I gave him pleasure. While he was kissing my neck, my lips, my..." Hayley said but was cut off.
"Shut up! You are lying." Caroline yelled angry. She didn't want to hear this. She didn't want to hear about Klaus with another woman. While Hayley was talking Caroline could see the image of the day she caught them together. It was nothing like Hayley had described but he still slept with her. Caroline felt like crying because the memory now was even more painful than at the time. Because now she loved him.
"Oh, Am I?" Hayley asked leaving Caroline's room.
Caroline was upset but she quickly left for Rebekah's room.
Hayley was hurt when she had heard Nik and Crazy pants together. She had heard Caroline moaned but she had also heard him growl. When he had been with her he hadn't made a single sound. She had moaned really loud but he hadn't made a single sound. She quickly approached his room and entered it without even knocking.
He had his back on her. He was standing next to his bed with his bare chest. He was handsome. She was so proud that he was her mate. She approached him and enveloped his waist with her arms and caressed his chest with her hands.
Klaus heard the door opening and thought it was Caroline. She was the only one who didn't knock before entering his room. He didn't even listen to be sure or smelled. He just heard her approach and then he felt her arms envelop him and her hands caressing his chest. Wait, it was not her hands. Caroline's hands were smaller and softer. He quickly grabbed the hands and broke them both from holding them too tight. Caroline was the only one who could touch him. He heard Hayley scream and turned around.
"Nik! Are you crazy? It hurts like hell. Happily I'm a werewolf and it will be healed in an hour or two." She explained, "You thought it was her didn't you? That's why you broke my hands? You don't want this whore to touch you like this?" She asked.
Klaus looked at her with anger. How did she just call him? And who was she calling a whore? It better not be Caroline. Caroline was anything near a whore. She was a whore. He had fucked her only to get laid. And it would not happen again because the only woman who would touch him would be Caroline.
"Don't you ever call me Nik again. Do you hear me? If I hear you call me Nik ever again I'll cut your tongue." He growled.
Hayley sighed, "Such a bad temper. How do you want me to call you then? I'm not calling you Klaus because that's how your whore calls you. Niklaus?" She asked.
Klaus felt his blood boil. It was a blessing for Hayley that he already killed one of his wolves and he wanted to keep as much as possible. He grabbed Hayley by the throat forcefully.
"You call me Lord Niklaus. You know what? No, I don't even want my name leaving your mouth. You'll just call me My Lord. And if you refer to Caroline as my whore one more time I'll kill you. You were my whore when I fucked you on a table. Because that's what I did, Hayley, I just fucked you trying to imagine that it was not you who was moaning my name." Klaus stated angrily and then let go off her.
Hayley understood. He regretted that he had fucked her as if she was nothing so he had tried to imagine someone else to make himself believe that he hadn't done this to the woman he loved. And now he was so ashamed about it that he was pushing her away. He was so sorry that he couldn't bear to hear his name from her because he thought he didn't deserve it. She understood so she was going to wait a little for him to make peace with himself for his actions. She would give him a little time.
"I understand, My Lord. But you should know that she is delusional about you. Caroline. I went to talk to her and she became so angry when I told her how we slept together and that you love me. She even told me to stay away from you and that you are hers. You should have seen her. She looked ready to kill me." Hayley said.
Klaus saw red. She had talked to Caroline and told her that he loved her. And told her that they slept together. He hadn't slept with her. He had fucked her. But he also felt happy right now. She had said he was hers. And she had looked ready to kill Hayley. It seems that she was also jealous. It was not only him. He would have to talk to her later about her conversation with Hayley. Right now he roughly pushed Hayley out of his room and closed the door.
Caroline had spent her whole day with Rebekah and her needlewoman. Her ball gown would be ready for the ball and Rebekah had been so excited. She had talked with Rebekah all the time no stop. Rebekah never stopped talking it was unbelievable. She had also retale Rebekah her conversation with Hayley and she had just laughed and tell how Hayley was pathetic and delusional.
It was late now and Caroline was really tired. She walked toward Klaus' room automatically. She opened the door and went inside. Once inside she noticed Klaus was not here yet so she decided to put her nightgown on. She was so tired that she just took her dress off in the room and dropped it to the floor. She took her shoes off. Then she walked toward the bathroom. She took her shift off and dropped it to the floor as well so she was now totally naked. She entered the bathroom and closed the door. She looked around and then remembered that her nightgown was in her room. She was about to go in the bedroom to put her dress back on when she heard someone enter the room. She was screw up.
Klaus entered his room and noticed Caroline's dress on the floor. He couldn't help but smile at how comfortable she felt in his room. Then he noticed her shoes and her shift. Wait, her shift. Which meant she was totally naked. A smirk grew on his lips. And it was not the only thing that grew, there was this other thing in his pants.
"Klaus? Is it you? Please tell me it's you." He heard Caroline call from the bathroom and whispering the last phrase. So he deduced that he hadn't been supposed to hear the last part.
"No, it's Elijah." Klaus said trying to sound like Elijah. Caroline seemed to buy it.
Caroline panicked. What was she gonna do now. She was totally screwed up. "Oh my god. Wow really smart Caroline. Bravo. I can't believe I was that stupid. I'm totally screwed up." She whispered angrily to herself.
Klaus wanted to laugh but he had to restrain himself. He could hear her chastising herself and it was hilarious. "What are you doing in Niklaus' room, Caroline? You must leave. If you don't leave by yourself I'll make you." He continued with Elijah's voice.
"Oh, no. I'm sorry Lord Elijah but don't you dare open this door. I swear that if you open it I'll have to gouge your eyes and cut your manhood." She exclaimed not being careful at what she said because she was utterly panicked. She started to look everywhere around the room and noticed one of Klaus' shirt. It would have to do. She grabbed it and quickly put it on. It covered the more important but only reached mid-thigh.
It became really hard for Klaus not to laugh. It would have been Elijah he would have been shocked like never before. Klaus could imagine him clearing his throat and trying to stay serious.
"I do not accept the way you are talking to me, Caroline. I'm going to open the door now." He announced still with Elijah's voice. He heard Caroline's heartbeat fastening and he heard her run to the door and put all her weight on it. It was so funny. Klaus would never get over it.
He grabbed the handle and turned it. He began to push the door open and when he heard Caroline's next reply he couldn't stop himself and burst into laughter.
Caroline ran to the door and pressed her back on it hoping he wouldn't be able to open the door. But as he turned the handle and started to push the door open her bare feet were sliding on the floor and the door was just opening. She was desperate. And for desperate situations, desperate solutions. She couldn't believe she was about to say that to Lord Elijah.
"You stop! Right now. I warn you that I bite and if I see one of your hands or fingers or anything entering this bathroom I'll bite it. And I have very sharp teeth." She said horrified, "And my nails, trust me you don't want me to use them on you. They are not even nails, they are claws."
What made Klaus laugh so hard was that she was saying to him, without knowing it, a hybrid, that she had sharp teeth and claws. He had sharp teeth and claws. He could kill her in a second. He had thought more than once about sinking his fangs in her delicate neck and taste her blood. She must be delicious. But not killing her. Just a taste of it.
When Caroline heard him laugh she instantly recognized him. It was Klaus. That son of a whore. She quickly let go of the door and he almost fell in the bathroom. But he quickly regained his balance and looked at her trying not to laugh. Then he started to laugh again and she jumped on him and bit him on the shoulder.
"Ouch!" He said taken aback by her action. It didn't hurt at all. It wasn't even piercing the skin. He just stood there and waited for her to finish. God, she was sexy while biting him. She had no idea what she was doing to him.
After a few seconds Caroline pulled away, "Told ya." she said.
Klaus pushed the fabric of his shirt aside and looked at his shoulder. There was nothing. He wasn't even red or anything. Okay, he was a little cheating because he was the original hybrid and it was obvious that human teeth wouldn't hurt him but still. It would have been on more sensible parts than the shoulder she could have pierced the skin because she didn't do it gently and delicately. He looked up at her and noticed that she was wearing nothing but one of his shirt. She would be the death of him. She let her clothes everywhere in his room to show him that she had stripped there a few minutes ago, she bit him, and now she wore his shirt.
"You call this sharp teeth, love? I don't even have a mark." He stated with a smirk, "Do you want me to show you what sharp teeth are?"
Caroline realized something when he said that. She had wanted to let a mark on him. She had wanted to let a mark so every other women, including Hayley, would see that he was hers. And it was weird but she wanted him to let a mark on her. She had never felt like this. It was odd. She had never heard of things like this.
"Oh, yes. Maybe you could show me how sharp your teeth are instead of making fun of me." She said a little upset that he didn't have a mark.
Klaus noticed that she was upset and he knew why. Because he felt the same. He saw in her eyes that she had wanted to let a mark on him. He was sure that had something to do with Hayley talking to her earlier in the day. He wanted to let marks on her too but it would mean hurting her. Or not specially. He could leave a hickey on her skin but he didn't know if it hurt or not. And he would not be sure to control himself because he would feel and smell the blood under her skin just about to come out but staying under her skin. Then a thought crossed his mind. It was what mates did. They left marks on each other. But no, it was not this. It had nothing to do with this. He quickly pushed the thought out of his mind.
He walked toward her, enveloped her waist with one hand and with the other pushed her hair away. He pushed his shirt away from her shoulder and put his human teeth on her shoulder. He gently nibbled and then kissed.
Caroline closed her eyes and whispered, "Your teeth are not really sharp either."
She had still her eyes closed and didn't notice his face change. Klaus let his hybrid features appear and his fangs elongates. He opened his mouth and touched her skin with his fangs. She was so delicate and frail in his arms. He could just kill her right now. He could sink his fangs in her shoulder and drink all of her blood. But he just touched her soft skin with his fangs and then they were gone and his human teeth replaced them. He looked up at her and she opened her eyes.
"I don't even have a mark." She stated.
She sounded a little disappointed and Klaus smiled, "Come on, we are going to bed." he said bringing her toward the bed.
Caroline looked at herself and stopped, "But I'm wearing one of your shirt." she complained.
"It doesn't bother me, love." Klaus said. Of course it didn't bother him.
Caroline looked at the bed and thought back at what Hayley said. She had said she was a liar but there was a small part of her that doubted. She couldn't help herself. She had seen them together with her own eyes once so who could say it hadn't happened again.
"Did you sleep with Hayley in this bed?" She asked Klaus a little scared of the answer.
Klaus stopped and looked at her, "No, I never brought a single woman in this bed except you, Caroline. You are the only one who ever entered this bed. And I never slept with Hayley. I fucked her. Nothing more." he said seriously to make things clear with Caroline.
Caroline smiled when he said she was the only woman to enter his bed. She couldn't help but feel special. Maybe she was special for him. But then she asked him a question she hadn't been intending on asking.
"Is it what you were going to do this morning? Fuck me?" She asked loosing her smile.
Klaus smiled and took her head between his strong, manly hands, "No, I was going to make love to you." he stated and kissed her when she blushed.
Caroline blushed. He had been going to make love to her. Did he love her? She didn't know. But he clearly cared about her and not about Hayley. So she kissed him back and entered the bed to sleep. He followed her and came close to her like always. He kissed her forehead as she closed her eyes and he closed his eyes too as happy as ever.
Caroline was walking through the corridors to reach the library when she went across Kol. She had been thinking about yesterday. First she had almost slept with Klaus, then Hayley, and finally Klaus making fun of her conducting to her biting him. When he had been the one with his teeth on her shoulder he hadn't even bit her. At first she felt normal teeth, then his mouth, and then... it had felt like fangs touching her. I was weird. It must be because she was tired and she imagined things.
Kol had been looking for Caroline for a few minutes when he finally found her. It was today. He would find out today if Caroline was a werewolf or not. He promised Bonnie he wouldn't ask anymore but he never said he wouldn't try things. And today he would activate her curse.
"Care! Wait. I need to talk to you in private so maybe you can come in my office for a few minutes." Kol asked.
"Hello, Kol. Huh, Yeah, of course." She answered and then followed him to his office.
Kol walked in his office and waited for Caroline to enter. Once she was in it he closed the door behind him. Caroline walked in the office and frowned when she noticed an old woman was already in the room. She didn't appear normal. She was just standing there and didn't move.
"Who is it?" She asked.
"Oh, it's better if you don't know her name. It will be easier." Kol explained.
Caroline was lost. What would be easier? Why shouldn't she know her name? It was stupid. Caroline couldn't see a reason why she shouldn't know her name.
"I don't understand. What will be easier?" Caroline asked confused.
She watched as Kol took a knife from his desk and walked toward Caroline. He took her hand and put the knife in it before closing her fingers around it. He looked at her and smiled. What was happening? Why was he giving her a knife and telling her it would be easier if she didn't know her name? Then everything became clearer in her mind. He wanted Caroline to kill her. Why would he do this? She would never kill someone. He was completely mad. What was wrong with him?
"I am not killing her, Kol." Caroline stated determinedly.
Kol had said he would pass to another level. That was his new level. He needed Caroline to kill someone. That way he would be sure about her being a werewolf or not. It was the only way. He couldn't compel her, he couldn't talk to her about werewolves. He had to find something else and here it was. Caroline was his friend but he was fed up with hiding his relationship with Bonnie.
"Caroline, look at her. She is old. She had a great life. She isn't even scared." He tried to convince her, "If you don't do it and offer her a quick and painless death, I will. And I'll be sure that it is long and painful." He added serious.
Caroline didn't want to kill someone. But the woman would die at the end of the day no matter what. And if she was at the woman's place she would have wanted a quick and painless death. She couldn't let Kol make her suffer before finally killing her. She fell a few tears running down her cheeks.
"Why are you doing this, Kol?" She asked him with a trembling voice.
"Just do it, Care." He said and walked toward the woman. He was about to slap her just to make her suffer when Caroline's voice stopped him.
"No, stop. I'll do it. Don't hit her. Don't make her suffer. She doesn't deserve any of this. She doesn't deserve to die either." Caroline exclaimed with a hoarse voice.
"I know, but I don't care about what she deserves or not." Kol stated.
Caroline walked toward the woman and once in front of her she looked at her and tried to smile at her, "Don't worry. You are going to be okay. It isn't gonna hurt. I swear." she tried to reassure the woman but herself too at the same time.
She brought the knife in her trembling hand higher so she was holding it just above the woman's heart. Her vision was blurry with tears. How could she do this? She touched the woman's dress with the tip of the knife but she couldn't go further. She just couldn't. Why was he doing this to her? Her hand was trembling, her whole body was trembling. Caroline was not violent. She couldn't kill someone. But then again, Kol would make her suffer. She took a deep breathe and was about to do it when the door opened.
"What is happening here? Kol? What is this about? Caroline? Why are you about to kill someone?" Bonnie exclaimed not even closing the door behind her. Everyone who was close enough could hear her.
"Bonnie, stay out of this." Kol said firmly.
"Bonnie, I can't do this. I don't know why he wants me to do this." Caroline sobbed still holding the knife above the woman's heart.
"Care, don't stop. You were about to do it. Just push this knife into her heart and get it over with." Kol ordered.
Klaus was walking in the corridor near Kol's office when he heard what looked like an argument. He listened closely and heard Kol telling Bonnie to stay out of it. Of what? He didn't know. But the next voice he heard was Caroline's. He stopped. She was crying. He hurried to Kol's office and when he entered Kol was telling Caroline not to stop and Caroline was holding a knife above a woman's heart. What was happening? Caroline hadn't noticed him yet. She kept her eyes on the woman in front of her and tried to control her trembling hands.
"Kol, what is your problem? Why do you want Caroline to kill someone?" Bonnie yelled.
"Stay out of this, Bonnie. Care, remember what I told you? Do it now or I'll do it and make it painful for her." Kol said approaching Caroline.
"No! I'll do it. Don't make her suffer. I'll do it." Caroline was on the verge of begging.
Klaus watched as she was about to do it. He couldn't let her do it. She would never forgive herself for doing it. She would never be able to look at herself in the mirror. He quickly walked into the room and approached Caroline. She had her eyes closed now and started to push the knife. Klaus took it from her hands and pushed it through the woman's heart. The woman fell to the floor and Caroline opened her eyes.
Caroline was holding the knife. She was about to do it. She was about to kill someone. She couldn't see it. She closed her eyes and then, the knife was not in her hands anymore. She heard something hit the floor and opened her eyes. The woman was dead on the floor. But Caroline hadn't killed her. She looked up. Klaus had. Klaus had killed her. He had killed her quickly and painlessly. But Caroline was sobbing uncontrollably. She had been about to kill her.
Caroline looked devastated. She kept looking at her hands and then at the body on the floor. He knew that she felt guilty. He couldn't let her like this. He couldn't bear to see her like this. So he made a decision. It was for the better. Caroline was a pure heart and she wouldn't forgive herself for even thinking about killing the poor woman. He took her face in his hands and looked in her eyes. His pupils dilated.
"You will forget what happened in this room." He simply said and Caroline nodded and the tears stopped. "Go in my room now." He added. She nodded once more and left the room.
"Nik! You ruined my plan!" Kol explained.
Klaus looked at his brother menacingly. He ruined his plan. He had to be kidding. He had been about to make Caroline kill someone. His Caroline, with her pure heart who had felt guilty for slapping him. Klaus was furious.
"And what was your stupid plan for? Because except ruin her life I don't see anything. Caroline wouldn't hurt a fly. She felt guilty and cried just for slapping me! How do you think she would feel after killing someone?" Klaus yelled.
Kol took a step back. Nik was very angry now. He kept taking menacing steps toward him while yelling. Kol felt a twinge of regret. He didn't know that Caroline was that 'nice'. But then again, his brother just gave him one more proof that Caroline was his mate. She had slapped him and she was still alive. No one had ever slapped Klaus. No one. Bekah had slapped him but she had ended up in a coffin for a decade.
"It was to see if she was a werewolf or not. For the theory of her being your mate." Kol explained.
"Caroline is not a werewolf. Do you hear me? You just had to ask me and I would've told you. I'm an alpha. Being an alpha I can smell werewolves, even if the gene is not activated. And Caroline is not a werewolf. Nor my mate. I already told you to stop with this stupid thing." Klaus said angrily before shoving his fist into Kol's jaw and then leaving the room at vamp speed before he couldn't resist the urge to tear out Kol limb from limb.
Once Klaus was gone Kol turned toward Bonnie who had been watching in a corner not saying anything. She looked angry. She actually looked furious. She looked as if she was about to explode. She began to walk furiously toward him and slapped him hard. Kol rubbed his cheek.
"Aw, what was that for?" He asked.
"You have to stop Kol! You can't force Caroline to kill people so we can be together in the end. You have to stop acting like this. Let me tell you that if another person has to die in the process of us being together we are done. I won't accept that people die just so I can be with you." Bonnie spat angry.
"I am on a mission here, Bonnie. I won't give up. I do this because I love you." Kol tried to explain himself. It hurt that she said they would be done.
"I love you too, Kol. I love you but you can't make Caroline suffer like this, she is my friend. Did you see her face? She was devastated." Bonnie exclaimed.
"She is my friend too. But I have to find out about this mate thing." Kol said calmly now.
"As you wish but find another way. You heard Klaus, she is human." Bonnie said.
She turned around to leave but Kol vamp- sped in front of her. He grabbed her by the waist, lifted her off the floor and vamp-sped to his bedroom. He placed her on the bed and ravished her body.

Next chapter, of course, as usual, there will be Klaroline (Klaus will make a little fun of Caroline.), there will be the ball, at this said ball, there will be an unwanted guest whose name start with a T (you all know who I'm talking about), Caroline will find herself alone with him and we will learn more about her past while she was serving him. there will be Katherine/Caroline (where Katherine will be polite and all, don't expect her sharp tongue in next chapter.) Klaus will get angry, then, Klaus/Katherine interaction.
