Recap:
The simple question sends my mind into chaos. Why? Lucy, why? Why are they so important to you? Why is it the thought of losing either of them makes you sick to the stomach? Urgh! What the hell?! I shout in my head. But then suddenly I know and tears spring to my eyes. When he puts his arms around me and lies down I decide to tell him.
"Because I love you two." I look up to his face smiling with tears glistening in my eyes.
"Do you really mean that Lucy?" Rogue asks as he rolls us over so he's on top of me. I reach up and touch his face and smile and nod. My answer is returned with a kiss on the forehead and then an abrupt hug from Rogue. "All this time I was worried that you really hated us. I'm so glad Lucy. So very glad." His hold on me tightens as he snuggles down into my neck.
"I could never hate you two. I mean, that was that time in the Grand Magic Games that I kinda hated your Guild and you two kind of but that's not the point." I smile as I wrap my arms around him and smooth down his hair.
"You kinda hated us? Why?" He sits up enough to look at my face.
" Well, the fact that one of your Guild mates beat me within an inch of my life but Sting's ever present cocky attitude and your emotionless façade just pissed me off. I dunno, maybe it was parts of my memory surfacing because you guys never used to be like that and it pissed me off." I shrug as I push his face back down to my neck and snuggle into his hair.
"Oi! Blondie! You'd better not be asleep! Something's happening!" I hear Sting shout as he busts down my door.
"Like what?" I ask as I immediately get up, not even noticing that Rogue was already up.
"I dunno, but Natsu's dragon suddenly got really tense and told me to come get you." Sting explains as we make our way out the crashed down door of my bedroom and downstairs to outside.
"Igneel! What's up?" I shout as everyone turns to look at me.
"Lucy… He's coming." Igneel says as he looks back towards the mountains on my property.
"Gray. Give me the keys." I state in a no nonsense tone. Sensing the atmosphere, he hands them over without a hassle. "Sorry you guys, you may get a bit sleepy in a sec." I say as I begin to take me limiters off.
"Lucy, what's going on?" Lisanna asks me.
"Zeref." I say as I remove all my limiters and grab a hold of one of my sets of keys. "Gate of the Giant man, I open thee! Makarov!" I chant as I open Masters Gate much to the shock of the others.
"Makarov, he's coming. I have the rest of the Dragon and Monsters but not the Zodiacs. I need your help to come up with a strategy." I say as I look to the small man in front of me.
"I knew it was serious the second I felt you summoning me but to think that he'd be on his way here… Summon the all of us Lucy." Master instructs.
"Ah! Lucy! Fro has 3 Gold keys. Fro thinks they used to be Yukino's keys before she died. Would you like Fro's gold keys?" The exceed that I'd completely forgotten about asks as he, as if a miracle, holds up the remaining Zodiac keys.
"Frosch you are a lifesaver." I say as I take the keys from the small exceed. "You, Lector and Happy and everyone else needs to get inside now. This is going to get nasty." I say as I look out to the distance and see a small dark figure approaching. "Crap! We need more time! Fuck!" I shout.
"Lucy. The Spirit King." Master reminds me.
"Oh fuck, I forgot." I mutter as I swiftly summon him and turn to Master and Igneel to surprisingly see that they aren't frozen in time.
"Don't worry, I'm allowing them to have a regular time flow. Lucy, since you have now acquired all the Zodiac keys, including the 13th, you should be able to summon us more easily now. You're going to need everyone you can get." Nodding at the Spirit Kings words, I summon all of my Zodiacs and Spell books.
"Lucy, you're going to exhaust yourself." Makarov warns.
"This is no time to care about that!" I shout as I turn to Igneel and plead with my eyes to explain what's going on. "Gate of the Sky Dragon Queen! I open thee! Grandine!" I shout as I summon yet another creature. "Grandine, there's a battle coming up. I'm going to need you and I'll summon Poryluscia in a sec to heal us as we fight." I explain, not even giving the dragon a chance to speak.
"Lucy. You should take a quick moment to rest." Igneel instructs me, "Then summon Acnologia. He has the best chance of all of us against Zeref."
"There's no way I am summoning him. Are you forgetting he tried to kill me?!" I shout as I head over to the books thinking of maybe binding Zeref so I can talk to him. "I'll just use his attacks. Ah found it! This is the spell I was looking for! Fuck yes!"
"Is that a binding spell?" Someone asks.
"Yeah." I reply back to whoever it was that spoke only to see someone I was not expecting to see. Zeref. He was here. Already. Not even thinking, I sung my fist straight at his face, landing a direct hit. "Master! Please cast Fairy Sphere around the whole world. Use my magic if you need to. Spirit King, for master to do this you need to let time flow normally." I instruct as I call upon Acnologia's magic and coat my fist in blackness as I approach Zeref.
"Lucy, Fairy Sphere only shields Fairy Tail mages." Master asks, confusion on his face.
"Yellow spell book. Page one. That's where the original Fairy Sphere came from. Use it. The rest of you help me the fuck out. Now." I growl out. "This is what you're all here for. And someone use the binding spell."
"Lucy dear, is that anyway to treat a guest?" Zeref asks as he stands and rubs his face in mock hurt.
"Cut the crap. What the fuck do you want?" I spit venomously as I stand on guard about 2 meters away from him.
"Such a foul mouth from someone who was brought up as a lady." Zeref deadpans "I want you Lucy."
"What do you want with me?" I ask as I begin to circle the man in front of me.
"You misunderstand Lucy. I want you." He says in a voice I didn't know the dark mage could utter. It almost sounded like want.
"And why the hell would you want me?" I grunt out as I launh myself and swing my magic coated fist at him only for him to dodge it.
"I want to learn how to love someone. You." He says as he sidesteps and continues dodging my attacks as th Spirit Kind makes time flow normally.
"Sorry buddy but I've already got people I love. And today, by you coming here you've threatened them. I am NOT going to hold back. And I swear to god if you guys even THINK about stepping in I will beat your damn asses from here to Crocus." I glance in the direction of where Sting and Rogue were before the time stop. "Makarov. If you're going to do it then you'd better do it now." I take my attention off Zeref for an instant and in that instant he lands a punch of his own in and sends me flying back into Loke who has just been standing there dumfounded at the whole situation.
"You bastard! How dare you lay a fucking finger on Luce!" I hear Natsu declare.
"INSINDE! NOW!" I scream at them as I shake off Loke and approach Zeref again. "If you lot aren't going to help than go back. It's draining to have you all out and doing nothing." I growl as I swing my fists once again at Zeref.
"Blondie there is no way we're leaving you!" I hear Sting protest.
"Sting. Please." I plead.
"No way!" He declares.
"Sting! Please just do this for me!" I scream as I'm once again hit by Zeref. "Oh that is it. Master! Now!" I see Makarov nod. "Sting and Ryos. Always remember I love you." I smile and turn in time to watch as they're all engulfed in a soft glimmering yellow-orange light and then just like that, they're shielded and frozen in time. I smile as I turn to face Zeref again. "All of you, please go back. Now." I instruct to everyone around me. "Poryluscia and Grandine, please stay behind and heal me." Not even bothering to wait for replies of any kind, I begin an onslaught of attacks on Zeref.
"Lucy, why don't you just come with me, you can love again. You can love me. And I'll love you." Zeref smirks as he dodges attack after attack.
"I refuse." I deadpan as I block one of his attacks when all of a sudden he doubles over in pain and starts screaming. "What the heck?!" I ask as I look on cautiously.
"Lucy! Get down!" He screams as a dark wave of energy is released from his body. Sensing that this is something bad, I try to duck down to the ground but I'm not fast enough. I'm hit head on but the wave of energy. Letting out a blood curdling scream as I'm knocked backwards, I'm suddenly cut off as I run out of air in my lungs, my blood freezes in my veins and my heart stops beating.
I had the next chapter up but I really wasn't happy with it and because I hadn't followed my plan for this I had no idea where to go with the story so this story is done! Done I tell you! No more! Sorry to those of you who wanted it to continue but I can't! I might write an epilogue for this later on down the track but right now I just don't feel as if I'd do a good job of it. Once again, sorry guys but this story is officially over!
