I WAS A FOOL

Chapter 14

Tegan POV

"Good morning guys" Michael hobbles into the room holding his side.

A bright lights turns on and I cover my eyes.

"You were really bad...I am disappointed that my guests tried to kill me. I took good care of you but now you need to be punished" The guy next to him hands him a glass container with a weird liquid in it.

"What is that?" Ted asks from beside me. How did I not notice him next to me?

"You too are smart kids, aren't you? Let me ask you a question: How much does hydrochloric acid on fresh wounds hurt?" He grins and kneels down in front of me.

He slowly pulls out a knife from his back pocket and places it on my shoulder. Slowly he slides the knife against my skin. I feel my flesh part and blood running down my arm. I shut my eyes in pain. After he sliced open a wound that will surely become a scar the other man hands him a spoon and places the container on the ground right next to him. I would tip the container with my foot if every move wouldn't hurt. He shovels a spoonful acid out of the container and slowly brings it to my wound. I close my eyes preparing for the pain.

I scream as I feel my flesh burning. I've never experienced pain like that in my entire life. Soon everything went black.

Ted POV

Tegan passes out right in front of me and I don't have the strength to help her. As Michael sees Tegan's body collapse on the ground he gets angry and starts yelling.

"You fucking bitch! You can't even take a little bit pain...that's what you do when you get uncomfortable you just turn off!" What the fuck is happening?

He starts punching and kicking Tegan's lifeless body and continues yelling at her like a maniac.

I just hope Shaun found my massage.

Hayley POV

Shaun showed us every room of this sick warehouse. He stops in front of a metal door.

"This is Tegan's room" He says with a quiet voice and proceeds opening the door. We walk into the room and immediately a bad smell stings my nose. The room is empty expect for a bed without mattress in the corner of the room. I notice a piece of paper under the bed and pick it up. It's a picture of me. I try but I can't hold back the tears. If I weren't worried I would think of this as a romantic thing to do.

"Lets move on" Shaun says as her leaves the room.

"Was that your room?" I hear Sara ask. I exit Tegan's room to catch up with Shaun and Sara.

"No this was Ted's room. We became close friends in here." Shaun says and opens the door. We enter a room that looks exactly like Tegan's. I can't help but feel sad for everybody who has to experience something like that.

"What is that?" Sara kneels down and picks something up. It's a piece of paper. Maybe another picture?

"It's an address...Holy fuck it's where they brought them!" What?

I take the paper from Sara's hand an look at it.

It says: This is from Ted. Michael's taking us to another location.

On the bottom of the sheet is an address.

"Lets go!" I shout and run out of the room and to the exit of the warehouse.

Sara POV

Hayley, Mom, Shaun, Officer Anderson and I get into a police car and head for the address. I'm really hopeful yet I feel suspicious.

What if we get there and they are gone? I can't take it a second time. But what if we finally find Tegan. I will have my sister back.

I snap out of my thoughts as Officer Anderson announces that we've arrived. I look out the car window to see that we're surrounded by trees in front of a huge cabin.

"Please stay in the car. I'll go inside" Anderson commands and pulls his gun out of the holster. He gives us one last look before getting out of the car and disappearing into the cabin.

Ted POV

He keeps slamming Tegan and hitting her. Her face is bleeding and she can't even stand anymore. I tried to help her but the other guy holds me pinned against the wall.

"Let her go!" I scream at Michael but he just gets angrier and pulls out a gun. No no no no.

He points the gun at Tegan and stands still for a while.

"You fuckers made everything more complicated-" before he can continue Tegan speaks.

"Just kill me already" Tegan what the hell! I can't blame her...this is worse than hell. Maybe he can kill us both and we will finally be free.

"Oh you want that, don't you? Well guess what. I will keep you alive till you're 70 and then I'm gonna bathe you in acid and let you burn to death!"

Suddenly I hear a loud bang and blood splashes from Tegan's leg as she cries out in pain.

"Now you can't run!" He hisses and takes a bit of acid to pour it over her new wound.

I almost passed out from watching. I can't even imagine the pain Tegan has to go trough.

"Your turn Teddy" Michael turn towards me and points the gun at my leg. I watch his finger slowly move to the trigger and hear a bang.

Hayley POV

"What's taking him so long?" I whine. He's been in there for almost 20 minutes. What if something happened. What if nobody's there?

"It can't take that long to examine a cabin." I decide to shut my mouth as I notice that everybody's annoyed by my complaints.

Just as I was about to exit the car Officer Anderson walks out of the cabin dragging someone along. Not Tegan. Disappointment builds inside me as he approaches the car.

"Is this Michael?" Sara asks Shaun. He looks at the man for a while and shakes his head. Sara leans back into her seat and crosses her arms in front of her chest.

Anderson opens the car door and speaks into the radio set.

"Send another car. We found them." My eyes widen as he turns his head to us and smiles faintly.

"Before you go in there I must warn you...she's pretty weak and horrified. Don't overwhelm her." He ends with a grin.

"You mean...she's in there?" I stutter in disbelieve.

"First floor second door to the right." As he said that I jump out of the car and run into the cabin.

First floor, second door to the right.

The door is already open so I storm inside. The smell of sweat and blood hits me but I don't care. My eyes searched around the room and they finally found what they've wanted to see for so long. Tegan's sitting on a bed and a guy who I assume to be Ted wraps a bandage around her leg.

"Tegan!" I shout happily. Her head snaps up and a smile spreads on her face.

"Hayley" She breathes out as tears fall from her eyes. I run up the her and bury myself in her arms.

"Oh my god, Tegan. Are you okay?" I hear Sara ask from behind me as a feel pressure around me. I never thought that a group hug could feel so good.

"I've been better...but I feel good seeing you guys" She squeezes us harder.

"I've missed you so much" She sobs into my shoulder.

"We've missed you too tee...but everything's gonna be fine now"

If it weren't for a friend of mine who encouraged me to finally safe Tegan, she would still be in a very dark place. I guess this also counts for me I would be stuck in this very dark room with no hope...but she helped me out.
